Definitions
- the present disclosure relates to a virtual image display device.
- Patent Document 1 describes a virtual image display device that emits display light toward a projection member of a vehicle body so that a viewer can visually recognize the display light reflected by the projection member as a virtual image.
- a mounting portion provided on the housing of the virtual image display device is fixed to a bracket portion provided on the vehicle body with bolts.
- the mounting portion is provided with a notch that is connected to the mounting hole through which the bolt is inserted, opens forward of the vehicle body, and allows the mounting portion to move relative to the bolt in the event of a pedestrian collision. Due to the provision of the notch, when a pedestrian collides, an external force directed toward the rear side causes the attachment portion to slide rearward and come off from the fixing by the bolt, and the virtual image display device falls off from the bracket portion. Therefore, the impact given to the pedestrian who collided can be reduced.
- the virtual image display device of Patent Document 1 attempts to suppress impact by focusing only on backward movement.
- One aspect of the present disclosure preferably provides a virtual image display device capable of exhibiting a higher degree of shock absorption function.

As shown in FIG. 8 , when the upper end of the first front wall portion 41 is positioned below the height position of the rotation shaft 203 , the first front wall portion 41 does not exist on the upper side of the virtual image display device 100 . Therefore, it is possible to prevent the first front wall portion 41 from obstructing the collapse of the virtual image display device 100 .
- the interference avoidance structure is formed in the entire area 400 forward of the two fastening portions 601, but the interference avoidance structure is partially forward of the two fastening portions 601. only may be formed. Even in this case, the interference avoidance structure can exhibit a better impact absorbing function.
- the plane 411 on which the first front wall portion 41 is positioned and the plane 511 on which the second front wall portion 51 is positioned are substantially parallel.
- the second front wall portion 51 may be further away from the plane on which the first front wall portion 41 is located toward the lower side. That is, the angle ⁇ between the plane 411 on which the first front wall portion 41 is positioned and the plane 511 on which the second front wall portion 51 is positioned may be greater than 0 degree. According to such a configuration, even if a pedestrian collides and receives a load in a direction in which the first front wall portion 41 and the second front wall portion 51 approach each other, the second front wall portion 51 does not move toward the first front wall. It becomes difficult to fall down toward the part 41. - ⁇ Therefore, the first front wall portion 41 and the second front wall portion 51 are less likely to interfere with each other, so that the shock absorbing function can be exhibited more effectively.
- the second front wall portion 51 may be closer to the plane on which the first front wall portion 41 is positioned as it goes downward. In this case, entry of foreign matter into the housing 30 can be suppressed satisfactorily.
- a rib 80 may be provided in front of the second housing 32 from the top surface portion 33, which is the upper surface portion of the second housing 32, to the second front wall portion 51.
