天然色素を利用して得られるバイオマス度の高い化合物(より好ましくはバイオマス度100%の化合物)であって、発色性及び耐光性に優れた化合物を提供する。 クルクミンの天然色素と有機酸とが結合してなる化合物であって、前記化合物の数平均分子量(Mn)が400~4950である、化合物である。
Description
本発明は、天然色素を用いた化合物に関する。
近年、地球環境・生態系・社会経済等に配慮し、持続的に発展すべき(サステナビリティ)循環型社会の構築を求める声が高まっている。印刷業界においても化石資源からの脱却が望まれており、例えば地球環境や生体系及び安全性等への配慮から印刷用インキ製造におけるノントルエン化の推進が行われている。また、カーボンニュートラルの観点から、印刷用インキの製造における原料をバイオマス由来の化学品に置き換える関心が高まっており、印刷インキに含有される溶剤及び樹脂をバイオマス原料から製造する研究が活発に行われている。
このように印刷業界でも環境対応が進められているが、現状は溶剤や樹脂のバイオマス化のみであり、顔料のバイオマス化は達成されていない。
印刷インキの色材として用いられる顔料としては、発色性と耐光性に優れることから、金属イオンを用いて染料をレーキしたレーキ顔料が広く用いられている。
金属イオンを用いて染料をレーキする方法は、製造時や精製時の排水中に金属イオンが排出されてしまうことから、金属イオンを除去するための別途の排水処理工程等を要する。この別途の排水処理工程等により環境への影響は低減できると考えられている。
しかしながら、地球環境・生態系に配慮した製品に対する近年の消費者意識の高まりから、顔料の分野においても環境への影響を与える可能性がより低い方法で製造することが求められている。すなわち、金属イオンの排出を確実に防止できる、金属イオンを用いずに製造された顔料の開発が望まれてきた。
金属イオンを用いずに製造された顔料としては、例えば藻類をそのまま用いた顔料等の、生体由来顔料等が報告されている(特許文献1参照)。
しかしながら、特許文献1に示す顔料は、金属イオンを用いずに製造された生体由来顔料を含有しているため環境負荷の少ない顔料であるものの、藻類をそのまま用いている顔料であるため、色調の選択性に乏しいという課題があった。
また、特許文献1に示す顔料は、従来の金属イオンを用いて染料をレーキしたレーキ顔料と比較し、発色性に劣る。

また、インキ、トナー、塗料用の着色剤として用いるためには、発色性や耐光性等の色材として要求される各種特性を満足する必要があるが、今までに、天然色素を用いたバイオマス度の高い化合物(例えば、顔料)の中で、発色性や耐光性に優れた化合物は提供されていない。
そこで本発明は、金属を使用しない環境に優しい化合物、特に、天然色素を利用して得られるバイオマス度の高い化合物(より好ましくはバイオマス度100%の化合物)であって、発色性及び耐光性に優れた化合物を提供することを目的とする。
本発明者は、上記課題を解決するために鋭意研究を重ねた結果、クルクミン等の特定の天然色素と有機酸とを結合させた化合物が上記課題を解決できることを見出し、本発明を完成するに至った。
すなわち、本発明は、以下の態様を包含するものである。
[1] クルクミンの天然色素と有機酸とが結合してなる化合物であって、前記化合物の数平均分子量(Mn)が400~4950である、化合物。
[2] アリザリン、カルミン酸、ラック色素またはラッカイン酸、カプサンチンまたはトウガラシ色素、サフロミンまたはベニバナ黄色素、シソニンまたはシソ色素、及びキサントモナシンまたはベニコウジ色素の中から選ばれた少なくとも1種以上の天然色素と有機酸とが結合してなる、化合物。
[3] 前記有機酸がカルボン酸基を少なくとも1つ以上有する、[1]又は[2]に記載の化合物。
[4] 前記カルボン酸が天然由来のカルボン酸である、[3]に記載の化合物。
[5] 前記有機酸が、カルボン酸、ヒドロキシ酸、及びスルホン酸のいずれかである、[1]~[4]の何れかに記載の化合物。
[6] 前記化合物の平均粒子径が0.01~100μmである、[1]~[5]の何れかに記載の化合物。
[7] インキ、トナー、又は塗料用の着色剤として用いる、[1]~[6]の何れかに記載の化合物。
[1] クルクミンの天然色素と有機酸とが結合してなる化合物であって、前記化合物の数平均分子量(Mn)が400~4950である、化合物。
[2] アリザリン、カルミン酸、ラック色素またはラッカイン酸、カプサンチンまたはトウガラシ色素、サフロミンまたはベニバナ黄色素、シソニンまたはシソ色素、及びキサントモナシンまたはベニコウジ色素の中から選ばれた少なくとも1種以上の天然色素と有機酸とが結合してなる、化合物。

[7] インキ、トナー、又は塗料用の着色剤として用いる、[1]~[6]の何れかに記載の化合物。
本発明により、天然色素を利用して得られるバイオマス度の高い化合物(より好ましくはバイオマス度100%の化合物)であって、発色性及び耐光性に優れた化合物を提供することができる。
以下、本発明について詳細に説明する。なお、以下に記載する構成要件の説明は、本発明を説明するための例示であり、本発明はこれらの内容に限定されるものではない。
(化合物)
本発明の化合物は、天然色素と有機酸とが結合してなる。
本発明の化合物は、天然色素を利用して得られるバイオマス度の高い化合物(より好ましくはバイオマス度100%の化合物)であって、発色性及び耐光性に優れている。
バイオマス度とは、バイオマス由来成分の重量比率を示したものをいう。
本発明の化合物は、有機酸が結合した天然色素が繰り返し形成された天然色素多量体であることが好ましい。
また、本発明の化合物は、着色時における色素の状態が粒子の状態となっており、顔料として、インキ、トナー、塗料の色材に好ましく用いることができる。
本発明の化合物は、天然色素と有機酸とが結合してなる。
本発明の化合物は、天然色素を利用して得られるバイオマス度の高い化合物(より好ましくはバイオマス度100%の化合物)であって、発色性及び耐光性に優れている。
バイオマス度とは、バイオマス由来成分の重量比率を示したものをいう。
本発明の化合物は、有機酸が結合した天然色素が繰り返し形成された天然色素多量体であることが好ましい。
また、本発明の化合物は、着色時における色素の状態が粒子の状態となっており、顔料として、インキ、トナー、塗料の色材に好ましく用いることができる。
天然色素を利用して得られるバイオマス度の高い化合物について、本発明者らは鋭意研究を重ねたところ、(1)クルクミンの天然色素と有機酸とを結合した化合物であって、該化合物の数平均分子量(Mn)が特定の範囲にある化合物(以下、この場合の化合物を「第1の実施態様のおける化合物」ともいう)、及び(2)特定の天然色素と有機酸とを結合した化合物(以下、この場合の化合物を「第2の実施態様のおける化合物」ともいう)の2つの実施態様で示される化合物が、発色性及び耐光性に優れた化合物となることがわかった。
そこで、本発明の化合物を、上記第1の実施態様と上記第2の実施態様のそれぞれに場合分けをして、該化合物に使用される原料である天然色素と有機酸について、以下説明する。

<第1の実施態様における化合物>
本発明の第1の実施態様における化合物は、クルクミンの天然色素と有機酸とが結合してなる。そして、該化合物の数平均分子量(Mn)は、400~4950である。
本発明者らは、天然色素としてクルクミンを用い、該クルクミンの天然色素と有機酸とを結合してなる化合物について検討した結果、分子量が上がるにつれ発色性(特に彩度)及び耐光性が低下していくことがわかった。そして、特定の分子量を超えた化合物では、インキ、トナー、あるいは塗料に用いる色材として実用上有効に利用することができないことがわかった。そこで、クルクミンの天然色素と有機酸とを結合してなる化合物において、該化合物の数平均分子量を特定の範囲に規定した本発明の化合物は、発色性及び耐光性に優れたものとなる。本発明の化合物は、インキ、トナー、あるいは塗料の色材として、有効に使用することができる。

<<クルクミン>>
本発明の第1の実施態様における化合物の原料に用いられるクルクミンは、ジオール構造を有している。クルクミンは、有機酸とエステル結合により結合することができる。

<<有機酸>>
本発明の第1の実施態様における化合物の原料に用いられる有機酸は、天然色素である上記クルクミンと結合することにより該天然色素の多量体が形成できるものであれば、特に限定されず、目的に応じて適宜選択できる。

本発明に用いられる有機酸としては、特に限定されるものではないが、クルクミンのOH基と容易にエステル結合により結合できるものであることが好ましい。
本発明に用いられる有機酸としては、特に限定されるものではないが、例えば、カルボン酸、ヒドロキシ酸、スルホン酸等が挙げられる。
本発明に用いられる有機酸としては、特に限定されるものではないが、例えば、カルボン酸、ヒドロキシ酸、スルホン酸等が挙げられる。
本発明に用いられる有機酸としては、天然色素である上記クルクミンと結合して該天然色素の多量体を形成する観点からは、カルボン酸基を少なくとも1つ有することが好ましい。したがって、上記有機酸としては、カルボン酸またはヒドロキシ酸であることが好ましい。
上記カルボン酸としては、例えば、脂肪酸、芳香族カルボン酸、ジカルボン酸、トリカルボン酸、ポリカルボン酸等が挙げられる。また、上記ヒドロキシ酸としては、例えば、脂肪族ヒドロキシ酸、芳香族ヒドロキシ酸等が挙げられる。
上記脂肪酸としては、例えば、ギ酸、酢酸、プロピオン酸、酪酸、吉草酸、カプロン酸、エナント酸、カプリル酸、ペラルゴン酸、カプリン酸、ラウリン酸、ミリスチン酸、ペンタデシル酸、パルミチン酸、マルガリン酸、ステアリン酸、アクリル酸、メタクリル酸、オレイン酸、リノール酸、リノレン酸等が挙げられる。
上記芳香族カルボン酸としては、例えば、サリチル酸、没食子酸、安息香酸等が挙げられる。
上記ジカルボン酸としては、例えば、シュウ酸、マロン酸、コハク酸、グルタル酸、アジピン酸、ピメリン酸、スベリン酸、アゼライン酸、セバシン酸、フタル酸、イソフタル酸、テレフタル酸、4,4’-ジフェニルジカルボン酸、マレイン酸、フマル酸、シトラコン酸、メサコン酸、ムコン酸、ダイマー酸、アスパラギン酸、アルダル酸、イタコン酸、オキサロ酢酸、グルタミン酸等が挙げられる。
上記トリカルボン酸としては、例えば、アコニット酸、1,3,5-ベンゼントリカルボン酸、プロパン-1,2,3-トリカルボン酸等が挙げられる。
上記ポリカルボン酸としては、例えば、アクリル酸重合体、アクリル酸-マレイン酸共重合体、アクリル酸-無水マレイン酸共重合体等が挙げられる。
上記脂肪族ヒドロキシ酸としては、例えば、グリコール酸、乳酸、タルトロン酸、グリセリン酸、ヒドロキシ酪酸、酒石酸、リンゴ酸、クエン酸、リシノール酸、シキミ酸等が挙げられる。
上記芳香族ヒドロキシ酸としては、例えば、バニリン酸、フロレト酸、クマル酸、コーヒー酸、フェルラ酸、シナピン酸等が挙げられる。
本発明に用いられる有機酸としては、少なくとも1つ以上のカルボン酸基を有するカルボン酸またはヒドロキシ酸であることが好ましいが、なかでも2つ以上のカルボン酸基を有するものがより好ましい。有機酸が有するカルボン酸基の数が多いほど、天然色素と結合し得る反応点が増え、より堅牢性の高い化合物を得ることができる。
有機酸と天然色素である上記クルクミンとを結合させ、該天然色素を多量体化するリンカーとして有機酸を用いる点において、構造制御された、より結晶性の高い天然色素多量体化合物を得られやすい観点からは、有機酸としては、2つのカルボン酸基を有するものであることがさらに好ましく、中でも上記ジカルボン酸が特に好ましい。
天然色素と有機酸とをエステル結合によって結合して多量体化する場合は、より結晶性の高い天然色素多量体化合物を得られやすい観点から、上記ジカルボン酸の中でも、シュウ酸、マロン酸、コハク酸、グルタル酸、アジピン酸、ピメリン酸、スベリン酸、アゼライン酸、セバシン酸、フタル酸、イソフタル酸、テレフタル酸、4,4’-ジフェニルジカルボン酸、マレイン酸、フマル酸、シトラコン酸、メサコン酸、ムコン酸、ダイマー酸の群から選ばれる1つ以上であることが最も好ましい。
本発明で用いられる有機酸として、天然由来のカルボン酸を用いれば、天然色素との結合により、バイオマス度100%の化合物を得ることができるため、地球環境や生体系及び安全性等の観点から、より好ましい。
ここで、天然由来のカルボン酸としては、コハク酸、セバシン酸、グリコール酸、乳酸、グリセリン酸、酒石酸、リンゴ酸、クエン酸、リシノール酸、フマル酸等が挙げられる。

本発明の第1の実施態様における化合物の数平均分子量(Mn)は、発色性及び耐光性に優れた化合物を得るという観点から、上述したとおり、400~4950であることが重要であるが、さらに色相および彩度や堅牢性の観点から、600~4950であることが好ましく、800~4000であることがより好ましい。また、本発明の第1の実施態様における化合物の重量平均分子量(Mw)は、発色性及び耐光性に優れた化合物を得るという観点から、400~10000であることが好ましく、800~9000であることがより好ましい。

<分子量の測定方法>
本発明における化合物の数平均分子量(Mn)および重量平均分子量(Mw)とは、溶媒としてクロロホルムを用いたゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー(GPC)で測定し、ポリスチレンで換算した数平均分子量(Mn)および重量平均分子量(Mw)を指す。溶媒として、クロロホルムで測定できない場合においてはジメチルホルムアミドを用い、それでも測定できない場合においてはテトラヒドロフランを用い、さらに測定できない場合においてはヘキサフルオロイソプロパノールを用いる。
本発明における化合物の数平均分子量(Mn)および重量平均分子量(Mw)とは、溶媒としてクロロホルムを用いたゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー(GPC)で測定し、ポリスチレンで換算した数平均分子量(Mn)および重量平均分子量(Mw)を指す。溶媒として、クロロホルムで測定できない場合においてはジメチルホルムアミドを用い、それでも測定できない場合においてはテトラヒドロフランを用い、さらに測定できない場合においてはヘキサフルオロイソプロパノールを用いる。
<第2の実施態様における化合物>
本発明の第2の実施態様における化合物は、アリザリン、カルミン酸、ラック色素またはラッカイン酸、カプサンチンまたはトウガラシ色素、サフロミンまたはベニバナ黄色素、シソニンまたはシソ色素、及びキサントモナシンまたはベニコウジ色素の中から選ばれた少なくとも1種以上の天然色素と有機酸とが結合してなる。
本発明者らは、天然色素を利用した化合物について検討した結果、上記特定の天然色素から選ばれる少なくとも1種以上の天然色素と有機酸とを結合してなる化合物が、発色性及び耐光性に優れることがわかった。上記特定の天然色素と有機酸とを結合してなる本発明の化合物は、インキ、トナー、あるいは塗料の色材として、有効に使用することができる。
本発明の第2の実施態様における化合物は、アリザリン、カルミン酸、ラック色素またはラッカイン酸、カプサンチンまたはトウガラシ色素、サフロミンまたはベニバナ黄色素、シソニンまたはシソ色素、及びキサントモナシンまたはベニコウジ色素の中から選ばれた少なくとも1種以上の天然色素と有機酸とが結合してなる。
本発明者らは、天然色素を利用した化合物について検討した結果、上記特定の天然色素から選ばれる少なくとも1種以上の天然色素と有機酸とを結合してなる化合物が、発色性及び耐光性に優れることがわかった。上記特定の天然色素と有機酸とを結合してなる本発明の化合物は、インキ、トナー、あるいは塗料の色材として、有効に使用することができる。
<<特定の天然色素>>
本発明の第2の実施態様における化合物の原料に用いられる天然色素は、アリザリン、カルミン酸、ラック色素またはラッカイン酸、カプサンチンまたはトウガラシ色素、サフロミンまたはベニバナ黄色素、シソニンまたはシソ色素、及びキサントモナシンまたはベニコウジ色素の中から選ばれる。
これらの天然色素は、例えば、有機酸とエステル結合により結合することができる。
本発明の第2の実施態様における化合物の原料に用いられる天然色素は、アリザリン、カルミン酸、ラック色素またはラッカイン酸、カプサンチンまたはトウガラシ色素、サフロミンまたはベニバナ黄色素、シソニンまたはシソ色素、及びキサントモナシンまたはベニコウジ色素の中から選ばれる。
これらの天然色素は、例えば、有機酸とエステル結合により結合することができる。
<<有機酸>>
本発明の第2の実施態様における化合物の原料に用いられる有機酸は、上記第1の実施態様における化合物の原料に用いられる有機酸と同様である。つまり、上記<第1の実施態様における化合物>の<<有機酸>>の欄で説明したのと同様の有機酸を用いることができる。

本願発明の第2の実施態様における化合物の数平均分子量(Mn)は、発色性及び耐光性に優れた化合物を得るという観点から、300~50000であることが好ましく、300~30000であることがより好ましく、300~20000であることが特に好ましい。また、本願発明の第2の実施態様における化合物の重量平均分子量(Mw)は、発色性及び耐光性に優れた化合物を得るという観点から、300~100000であることが好ましく、300~75000であることがより好ましく、300~50000であることが特に好ましい。
<化合物の製造方法>
本発明の化合物(上記第1の実施態様の化合物、及び上記第2の実施態様の化合物を区別することなく、いずれの実施態様の化合物をも対象とする場合には、「本発明の化合物」という場合もある)は、天然色素と有機酸とを反応させ、天然色素と有機酸とを結合させることにより得ることができる。天然色素を有機酸と結合させることで、天然色素が繰り返し形成された天然色素多量体からなる化合物を得ることができる。
上記結合としては、例えば、エステル結合が挙げられる。
本発明の化合物の製造方法の好ましい実施態様としては、天然色素のヒドロキシ基と有機酸のカルボン酸基とをエステル縮合反応により反応させ天然色素と有機酸とを結合させる製造方法が挙げられる。
より好ましい実施態様としては、天然色素のジオール化合物と有機酸であるジカルボン酸とをエステル縮合反応により反応させ天然色素と有機酸とを結合させる製造方法が挙げられる。
本発明の化合物(上記第1の実施態様の化合物、及び上記第2の実施態様の化合物を区別することなく、いずれの実施態様の化合物をも対象とする場合には、「本発明の化合物」という場合もある)は、天然色素と有機酸とを反応させ、天然色素と有機酸とを結合させることにより得ることができる。天然色素を有機酸と結合させることで、天然色素が繰り返し形成された天然色素多量体からなる化合物を得ることができる。
上記結合としては、例えば、エステル結合が挙げられる。
本発明の化合物の製造方法の好ましい実施態様としては、天然色素のヒドロキシ基と有機酸のカルボン酸基とをエステル縮合反応により反応させ天然色素と有機酸とを結合させる製造方法が挙げられる。
より好ましい実施態様としては、天然色素のジオール化合物と有機酸であるジカルボン酸とをエステル縮合反応により反応させ天然色素と有機酸とを結合させる製造方法が挙げられる。
本発明の化合物の製造方法は、例えば、上記ジオール化合物と上記ジカルボン酸とのエステル縮合反応により達成されるが、この場合用いるジカルボン酸としては、フリーなジカルボン酸の形態で使用できるのはもちろん、それ以外にジカルボン酸エステル、ジカルボン酸無水物、ジカルボン酸塩化物等のジカルボン酸誘導体の形態でも使用することができる。
本発明の化合物の製造方法の好ましい実施態様としては、例えば、有機酸としてジカルボン酸塩化物を用いて、有機酸であるジカルボン酸塩化物と天然色素のジオール化合物とをエステル反応させるにより得る化合物の製造方法が挙げられる。この場合、低温で溶媒存在下生成する塩酸を留去または塩基性化合物で中和する方法などをとることにより、化合物を製造することができる。この場合の反応温度としては、目的に応じて適宜選択することができるが、例えば、-80~100℃が好ましく、-80~60℃がより好ましく、-20~20℃がさらに好ましく、-5~10℃が特に好ましい。
溶媒を用いる場合、用いられる溶媒は基質と反応しないものであればどの様なものでも使用でき、ジクロロメタン、クロロホルム、テトラクロロエタン等のハロゲン化炭化水素類、ベンゼン、トルエン、キシレン等の芳香族炭化水素類、テトラヒドロフラン、ジオキサン、ジメトキシエタン等のエーテル類、アセトン、メチルエチルケトン、メチルイソブチルケトン、シクロヘキサノン等のケトン類、酢酸エチル、酢酸ブチル等のエステル類、アセトニトリル等のニトリル類、N,N-ジメチルアセトアミド、N-メチル-2-ピロリドン等のアミド類等が使用可能である。
本発明の化合物の製造方法の好ましい実施態様としては、例えば、有機酸としてジカルボン酸塩化物を用いて、有機酸であるジカルボン酸塩化物と天然色素のジオール化合物とをエステル反応させるにより得る化合物の製造方法が挙げられる。この場合、低温で溶媒存在下生成する塩酸を留去または塩基性化合物で中和する方法などをとることにより、化合物を製造することができる。この場合の反応温度としては、目的に応じて適宜選択することができるが、例えば、-80~100℃が好ましく、-80~60℃がより好ましく、-20~20℃がさらに好ましく、-5~10℃が特に好ましい。
溶媒を用いる場合、用いられる溶媒は基質と反応しないものであればどの様なものでも使用でき、ジクロロメタン、クロロホルム、テトラクロロエタン等のハロゲン化炭化水素類、ベンゼン、トルエン、キシレン等の芳香族炭化水素類、テトラヒドロフラン、ジオキサン、ジメトキシエタン等のエーテル類、アセトン、メチルエチルケトン、メチルイソブチルケトン、シクロヘキサノン等のケトン類、酢酸エチル、酢酸ブチル等のエステル類、アセトニトリル等のニトリル類、N,N-ジメチルアセトアミド、N-メチル-2-ピロリドン等のアミド類等が使用可能である。
本発明の化合物の製造方法の好ましい実施態様としては、天然色素がクルクミンである場合、下記式(i)で表されるクルクミン色素と、下記式(ii)で表される、コハク酸ジクロリド、アジピン酸ジクロリド、セバシン酸ジクロリド、フマル酸ジクロリド、テレフタル酸ジクロリド、及びビフェニルジカルボン酸ジクロリドの群より選ばれる少なくとも一つのジカルボン酸ジクロリドとを反応させることによりクルクミンの多量体を得る製造方法が挙げられる。
上記天然色素と、上記有機酸との混合比としては、例えば、モル比で、1:0.1~1:10が好ましく、1:0.5~1:1がより好ましい。
上記に説明したエステル縮合により不溶性のレーキ化合物が析出するので、これを公知の方法により固液分離し、必要に応じて洗浄する。固液分離の方法としては、例えば吸引ろ過、加圧ろ過、フィルタープレス、スプレードライ、デカンテーション、遠心分離等が挙げられる。洗浄溶液としては、例えば水やアルコールのような親水性溶媒等が挙げられる。
未反応で残留する原料がある場合、未反応の原料はこの洗浄処理によって除去される。そして、固液分離後又は洗浄後の粉体を、公知の方法により乾燥することによって、不溶性の化合物(顔料)が得られる。

<化合物の特性>
本発明の化合物は、優れた発色性(彩度)を示す他、耐光性にも優れる。
例えば、クルクミンに対して有機酸を結合させて得られたクルクミンの多量体からなる本発明の化合物は、下記実施例でも示すように、優れた彩度、及び耐光性を示す。

<<化合物の構造>>
本発明の化合物の好ましい実施態様としては、例えば、下記式(I)又は下記式(II)で表される構造を有する化合物が挙げられる。

さらにまた、本発明の化合物の好ましい実施態様としては、天然色素がクルクミンである場合、下記式(III)で表される構造を有する化合物が挙げられる。
上記式(Ia)、(IIa)、(Ib)、(IIb)、(III)中のR(炭化水素基)としては、例えば、直鎖状炭化水素基、分岐状炭化水素基、環状炭化水素基が挙げられる。
炭化水素基は、飽和炭化水素基であっても不飽和炭化水素基であってもよく、例えば、鎖状飽和炭化水素基、鎖状不飽和炭化水素基、環状不飽和炭化水素基、飽和炭化水素基が挙げられる。
該炭化水素基の炭素数としては、例えば、2~15が好ましい。ただし、有機酸としてダイマー酸を含めて規定した場合には、該炭化水素の炭素数としては、2~36が好ましい。
炭化水素基は、飽和炭化水素基であっても不飽和炭化水素基であってもよく、例えば、鎖状飽和炭化水素基、鎖状不飽和炭化水素基、環状不飽和炭化水素基、飽和炭化水素基が挙げられる。
該炭化水素基の炭素数としては、例えば、2~15が好ましい。ただし、有機酸としてダイマー酸を含めて規定した場合には、該炭化水素の炭素数としては、2~36が好ましい。
式(Ia)、(IIa)、(Ib)、(IIb)、(III)中のR(炭化水素基)としては、例えば、下記式(IV)で表される基からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一つの基が挙げられる。
<粒子径>
本発明の化合物の平均粒子径は、特に限定されるものではないが、例えば、インキ化時の発色性や隠ぺい性の観点から0.01~100μmであることが好ましく、0.05~50μmであることがより好ましい。
尚、化合物の平均粒子径の値は、透過型又は走査型の電子顕微鏡等で粒子を撮影し、20個の粒子についてその最長径を測長した算術平均値である。
本発明の化合物の平均粒子径は、特に限定されるものではないが、例えば、インキ化時の発色性や隠ぺい性の観点から0.01~100μmであることが好ましく、0.05~50μmであることがより好ましい。
尚、化合物の平均粒子径の値は、透過型又は走査型の電子顕微鏡等で粒子を撮影し、20個の粒子についてその最長径を測長した算術平均値である。
本発明の化合物は、上述したように、優れた発色性を有し、耐光性にも優れている。また本発明の化合物は、高バイオマス度の化合物であり、海水中の生分解性がある。このため、本発明の化合物は、インキ、トナー、又は塗料用の着色剤として用いることができる。
本発明の化合物は、本発明の化合物をその他の材料と配合することで、組成物(例えば、顔料組成物)を作製し、インキ、トナー、又は塗料等に用いることができる。

海洋生分解性とは、海水中の微生物によって分解されることを示す。具体的には、本発明の化合物を海水中に入れ、27℃に保持した状態で30日間撹拌した後、試験前後の化合物の重量を測定する。また、同様の操作をポリヒドロキシ酪酸の粉末でも行う。化合物とポリヒドロキシ酪酸の重量減少度をそれぞれ算出し、ポリヒドロキシ酪酸の重量減少度を100%としたときの化合物の相対重量減少度が5%以上である場合に、海水中の生分解性、すなわち海洋生分解性が有るとする。海水中での分解速度が速いほど環境への負荷が低いことから、相対重量減少度は10%以上が好ましく、15%以上がより好ましい。

熱可塑性樹脂とは、加熱により溶融成形可能な樹脂である。熱可塑性樹脂としては、例えばポリエチレン樹脂、ポリプロピレン樹脂、ポリスチレン樹脂、ゴム変性ポリスチレン樹脂、アクリロニトリル-ブタジエン-スチレン(ABS)樹脂、アクリロニトリル-スチレン(AS)樹脂、ポリメチルメタクリレート樹脂、アクリル樹脂、ポリ塩化ビニル樹脂、ポリ塩化ビニリデン樹脂、ポリエチレンテレフタレート樹脂、エチレンビニルアルコール樹脂、酢酸セルロース樹脂、アイオノマー樹脂、ポリアクリロニトリル樹脂、ポリアミド樹脂、ポリアセタール樹脂、ポリブチレンテレフタレート樹脂、ポリ乳酸樹脂、ポリフェニレンエーテル樹脂、変性ポリフェニレンエーテル樹脂、ポリカーボネート樹脂、ポリサルホン樹脂、ポリフェニレンスルフィド樹脂、ポリエーテルイミド樹脂、ポリエーテルサルフォン樹脂、ポリアリレート樹脂、熱可塑性ポリイミド樹脂、ポリアミドイミド樹脂、ポリエーテルエーテルケトン樹脂、ポリケトン樹脂、液晶ポリエステル樹脂、フッ素樹脂、シンジオタクチックポリスチレン樹脂、環状ポリオレフィン樹脂等が挙げられる。これらの熱可塑性樹脂は1種又は2種以上を併用して用いることができる。
本発明の樹脂は、成形用の樹脂として配合してもよいし、ワニスとして配合してもよい。また、分散剤、表面改質剤、界面活性剤、皮膜強化剤といった、その他添加剤としての効果を期待して配合してもよい。
樹脂をワニスとして配合する場合、公知の樹脂を用いることができる。ワニスとして配合する樹脂としては、例えばフェノール樹脂、石油樹脂、ロジン変性フェノール樹脂、石油樹脂変性フェノール樹脂、ロジンエステル、アルキッド樹脂、変性アルキッド樹脂、ロジン変性マレイン酸樹脂、ギルソナイト樹脂、ウレタン樹脂、エポキシ樹脂等が挙げられる。
樹脂を分散剤や表面改質剤として配合する場合、公知の樹脂を用いることができる。分散剤又は表面改質剤として配合する樹脂としては、例えばセルロース;アルキルセルロース(エチルセルロース、メチルセルロース等)、ヒドロキシアルキルセルロース(ヒドロキシメチルセルロース、ヒドロキシエチルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロース、ヒドロキシエチルメチルセルロース等)、カルボキシアルキルセルロース(カルボキシメチルセルロース、カルボキシエチルセルロース等)、酢酸セルロース等のセルロース誘導体;アルキルアリルポリエーテルアルコール、脂肪酸のショ糖エステル、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテル、ポリオキシエチレン水添ヒマシ油、脂肪酸のプロピレングリコールエステル、ラウリル硫酸塩、ステアリン酸塩、脂肪酸のソルビタンエステル、脂肪酸のポリエチレングリコールエステル、脂肪酸のポリオキシエチレングリセロールエステル、脂肪酸のグリセロールエステル、ポリオキシエチレンポリオキシプロピレングリコール、脂肪酸のポリオキシエチレンソルビトールエステル、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルアリルエーテル、アルキルアリルスルホン酸塩、脂肪酸のポリオキシエチレンソルビタンエステル、又はそれらの混合物が挙げられる。
<溶剤>
また、上記顔料組成物は、さらに溶剤を配合することができる。溶剤は希釈溶剤として用いてもよいし、ワニスや湿し水といった各種添加剤としての効果を期待して配合してもよい。
溶剤としては特に限定はなく、用途に応じて使用することができる。溶剤としては、例えば水、水性溶剤、有機溶剤、液状有機ポリマー等が挙げられる。溶剤は、1種類を単独で又は複数種類を併用して使用することができる。
また、上記顔料組成物は、さらに溶剤を配合することができる。溶剤は希釈溶剤として用いてもよいし、ワニスや湿し水といった各種添加剤としての効果を期待して配合してもよい。
溶剤としては特に限定はなく、用途に応じて使用することができる。溶剤としては、例えば水、水性溶剤、有機溶剤、液状有機ポリマー等が挙げられる。溶剤は、1種類を単独で又は複数種類を併用して使用することができる。
有機溶媒としては、例えばアセトン、メチルエチルケトン(MEK)、メチルイソブチルケトン(MIBK)等のケトン類、テトラヒドロフラン(THF)、ジオキソラン等の環状エーテル類、酢酸メチル、酢酸エチル、酢酸ブチル等のエステル類、トルエン、キシレン等の芳香族類、n-ペンタン、イソペンタン、n-ヘキサン、2-メチルペンタン、n-ヘプタン、n-オクタン、トリメチルペンタン等のパラフィン系溶剤、シクロヘキサン、シクロヘキシルメタン、オクタデシルシクロヘキサン、メチルイソプロピルシクロヘキサン等のナフテン系溶剤、カルビトール、セロソルブ、メタノール、イソプロパノール、ブタノール、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテル等のアルコール類、ミネラルスピリット、石油ナフサ等が挙げられる。
また、溶剤としては、例えばヒマシ油、落花生油、オリーブオイル等の不乾性油、大豆油、綿実油、菜種油、ゴマ油、コーン油等の半乾性油、アマニ油、エノ油、桐油等の乾性油、再生植物油、植物エステル等の植物由来油等も利用することが可能である。
<その他配合物>
上記顔料組成物は、必要に応じて皮張り防止剤、粘度調整剤、皮膜強化剤、分散剤、汚れ防止剤、乳化調整剤、酸化防止剤等の配合物を含んでいてもよい。これらの配合物としては、従来公知のものを好適に用いることができる。

(成形体)
上記顔料組成物が成形用樹脂を含有する場合、顔料組成物を成形して成形体とすることができる。成形方法は従来公知の方法を用いればよく、用途によって適時選択すればよい。成形体の形状に制限はなく、平板、シート状又は3次元形状の全面に又は一部に曲率を有する等、目的に応じた任意の形状であってよい。
上記顔料組成物が成形用樹脂を含有する場合、顔料組成物を成形して成形体とすることができる。成形方法は従来公知の方法を用いればよく、用途によって適時選択すればよい。成形体の形状に制限はなく、平板、シート状又は3次元形状の全面に又は一部に曲率を有する等、目的に応じた任意の形状であってよい。
上記成形体の成形方法としては、例えば板状やシート状の製品を製造するのであれば、押し出し成形法が一般的であるが、平面プレスによっても可能である。この他、異形押し出し成形法、ブロー成形法、圧縮成形法、真空成形法、射出成形法等を用いることができる。またフィルム状の製品を製造するのであれば、溶融押出法の他、溶液キャスト法を用いることができ、溶融成形方法を用いる場合、例えばインフレーションフィルム成形、キャスト成形、押出ラミネーション成形、カレンダー成形、シート成形、繊維成形、ブロー成形、射出成形、回転成形、被覆成形等を用いることができる。また、熱や活性エネルギー線で硬化する樹脂の場合、熱や活性エネルギー線を用いた各種硬化方法を用いて成形体を製造する事ができる。
また、樹脂組成物が液状であれば、塗工により成形することも可能である。塗工方法としては、例えばスプレー法、スピンコート法、ディップ法、ロールコート法、ブレードコート法、ドクターロール法、ドクターブレード法、カーテンコート法、スリットコート法、スクリーン印刷法、インクジェット法等が挙げられる。
(インキ(印刷インキ))
上記顔料組成物は、インキに用いることができる。上記顔料組成物を含有するインキは、本発明の化合物の他に、樹脂及び又は有機溶剤を含有する。本発明の化合物は、発色性及び耐光性に優れることから、インキ用の着色剤として用いることにより、鮮やかな印刷が可能となる。
上記顔料組成物は、インキに用いることができる。上記顔料組成物を含有するインキは、本発明の化合物の他に、樹脂及び又は有機溶剤を含有する。本発明の化合物は、発色性及び耐光性に優れることから、インキ用の着色剤として用いることにより、鮮やかな印刷が可能となる。
上記顔料組成物をインキとして用いることにより、該インキで印刷された印刷物を得ることができる。印刷対象の基材としては特に限定はなく、紙、木材、プラスチック、金属や鉱物といった無機物、それらの複合物等が例示できる。基材の形状にも限定はなく、平板、シート状又は3次元形状の全面又は一部に曲率を有する等、目的に応じた任意の形状であってよい。また、基材の硬度、厚み等にも制限はない。
本発明の化合物を用いた印刷インキは、上述した本発明の化合物を使用する以外は特に限定なく公知の組成で得ることができる。
印刷インキは、上述した本発明の化合物が、発色性に優れることから、鮮やかな印刷が可能である。このため、本発明の化合物を用いた印刷インキは、オフセット印刷、グラビア印刷、フレキソ印刷、スクリーン印刷等に使用する各種印刷インキに好適に使用することができる。中でも、平版オフセット印刷用の平版オフセット印刷インキ、グラビア印刷用やフレキソ印刷用に適用できるリキッド印刷インキとして好適に使用することができる。
印刷インキは、上述した本発明の化合物が、発色性に優れることから、鮮やかな印刷が可能である。このため、本発明の化合物を用いた印刷インキは、オフセット印刷、グラビア印刷、フレキソ印刷、スクリーン印刷等に使用する各種印刷インキに好適に使用することができる。中でも、平版オフセット印刷用の平版オフセット印刷インキ、グラビア印刷用やフレキソ印刷用に適用できるリキッド印刷インキとして好適に使用することができる。

オフセット印刷インキは、平版印刷(湿し水を使用する平版印刷や湿し水を使用しない水無し平版印刷)、凸版印刷、凹版印刷、孔版印刷や、これらの版に付けられたインキをブランケット等の中間転写体に転写した後被印刷体に印刷する転写(オフセット)方式を組み合わせた種々の印刷方式におけるインキをいう。
平版オフセット印刷インキは、本発明の化合物の他、印刷インキ用樹脂ワニス、有機溶剤、大豆油等の植物油や植物油エステル、乾燥抑制剤、ドライヤー、耐摩擦性改良剤等を混合し、ロールミル等で練肉分散して製造される。

<リキッド印刷インキ>
グラビア印刷インキやフレキソ印刷インキとして使用されるリキッド印刷インキは、有機溶剤を主溶媒とする有機溶剤型リキッド印刷インキと、水を主溶媒とする水性リキッド印刷インキとに大別される。本発明の化合物は、有機溶剤型リキッド印刷インキ及び水性リキッド印刷インキ共に適用することができる。
グラビア印刷インキやフレキソ印刷インキとして使用されるリキッド印刷インキは、有機溶剤を主溶媒とする有機溶剤型リキッド印刷インキと、水を主溶媒とする水性リキッド印刷インキとに大別される。本発明の化合物は、有機溶剤型リキッド印刷インキ及び水性リキッド印刷インキ共に適用することができる。
<<有機溶剤型リキッド印刷インキ>>
有機溶剤型リキッド印刷インキは、本発明の化合物の他、バインダー樹脂、有機溶剤、分散剤、消泡剤等を添加した混合物を分散機で分散し、分散体を得る。得られた分散体に樹脂、有機溶剤、必要に応じてレベリング剤等の添加剤を加え、撹拌混合することで有機溶剤型リキッド印刷インキが得られる。
有機溶剤型リキッド印刷インキは、本発明の化合物の他、バインダー樹脂、有機溶剤、分散剤、消泡剤等を添加した混合物を分散機で分散し、分散体を得る。得られた分散体に樹脂、有機溶剤、必要に応じてレベリング剤等の添加剤を加え、撹拌混合することで有機溶剤型リキッド印刷インキが得られる。
<<水性リキッド印刷インキ>>
水性リキッド印刷インキは、本発明の化合物の他、バインダー樹脂、水性媒体、分散剤、消泡剤等を添加した混合物を分散機で分散し、分散体を得る。得られた分散体に樹脂、水性媒体、必要に応じてレベリング剤等の添加剤を加え、撹拌混合することで水性リキッド印刷インキが得られる。
水性リキッド印刷インキは、本発明の化合物の他、バインダー樹脂、水性媒体、分散剤、消泡剤等を添加した混合物を分散機で分散し、分散体を得る。得られた分散体に樹脂、水性媒体、必要に応じてレベリング剤等の添加剤を加え、撹拌混合することで水性リキッド印刷インキが得られる。
以上、本発明の化合物は、インキ、トナー、又は塗料用の着色剤として、好適に用いることができる。
以下、実施例をあげて本発明をさらに具体的に説明するが、本発明はその要旨を超えない限り以下の実施例に限定されるものではない。なお、実施例中の「部」、「%」等の記載は、断りのない限り、質量基準の記載を意味する。
<顔料の製造方法1>
100mLの二口フラスコに、天然色素82.8質量部と、テトラヒドロフラン(関東化学株式会社製、脱水、安定化剤無添加)1599質量部を入れ、アルゴンに置換し、氷浴で0℃に冷やしながら5分間撹拌した。トリエチルアミン(富士フイルム和光純薬株式会社製、特級)22.7質量部を滴下し、0℃でさらに5分間撹拌した。次に、有機酸17.2質量部をゆっくり滴下し、滴下終了後、0℃下で6時間撹拌した。続いて、エバポレーターで溶媒を留去し、メタノール(キシダ化学株式会社製、1級)1780質量部を加えて懸濁させて洗浄を行った後、ろ紙(ADVANTEC社製、定性ろ紙No.1)を用いて吸引ろ過による固液分離を行った。ろ別した固形物を50℃で真空乾燥し、粉末を得た。

(実施例1)
天然色素としてクルクミン(富士フイルム和光純薬株式会社製、特級)、有機酸としてフマル酸の塩化物(フマリルクロリド;東京化成工業株式会社製)を使用して、上記の顔料の製造方法1の方法で、天然色素多量体化化合物の粉末を得た。
実施例1で使用した成分の配合量は、下記表1に示すとおりである。尚、表1において、配合量の単位は、質量部である。
天然色素としてクルクミン(富士フイルム和光純薬株式会社製、特級)、有機酸としてフマル酸の塩化物(フマリルクロリド;東京化成工業株式会社製)を使用して、上記の顔料の製造方法1の方法で、天然色素多量体化化合物の粉末を得た。
実施例1で使用した成分の配合量は、下記表1に示すとおりである。尚、表1において、配合量の単位は、質量部である。
(実施例2~8)
実施例1と同様にして、表1に記載した天然色素(クルクミン)と有機酸の配合量をそれぞれ表1に記載の配合量に変えた以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で、天然色素多量体化合物の粉末を得た。

(実施例9)
実施例1と同様にして、天然色素をアリザリンに変え、天然色素(アリザリン)と有機酸の配合量をそれぞれ表1に記載の配合量に変えた以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で、天然色素多量体化合物の粉末を得た。得られた天然色素多量体化合物の粉末は、薄い黄色を呈していた。
実施例1と同様にして、天然色素をアリザリンに変え、天然色素(アリザリン)と有機酸の配合量をそれぞれ表1に記載の配合量に変えた以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で、天然色素多量体化合物の粉末を得た。得られた天然色素多量体化合物の粉末は、薄い黄色を呈していた。
(比較例1~2)
実施例1と同様にして、表1に記載した天然色素(クルクミン)と有機酸の配合量をそれぞれ表1に記載の配合量に変えた以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で、天然色素多量体化合物の粉末を得た。

<多量体化合物の分子量の測定方法>
ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー(GPC)により、以下の条件でポリスチレン換算した多量体化合物試料の分子量を測定した。
装置名:日本分光株式会社製LC-20000Plus seriesカラム:ガードカラムとして「Showdex GPC K-G 4A」と、カラム「Showdex GPC K-804L」を2本接続(カラムはいずれも昭和電工株式会社製)
カラムオーブン温度:40℃
検出器:日本分光株式会社製RI-2031Plus、日本分光株式会社製UV-2070Plus
溶離液:クロロホルム
GPC試料濃度:1g/L
流速:0.5mL/分
標準試料:昭和電工株式会社製ポリスチレン標準試料STANDARD SM-105

<平版オフセット印刷インキの調製>
<<平版オフセット印刷インキ用樹脂ワニスの調製>>
ロジン変性フェノール樹脂(重量平均分子量4.5万)44質量部、大豆油15質量部を仕込み、窒素気流下で220℃に昇温して1.5時間加熱撹拌後、AFソルベント7号(石油系溶剤:JXTGエネルギー(株)製)39.7質量部を加えて、30分撹拌した後、140℃まで冷却した。
冷却後AFソルベント7号で50%希釈したアルミニウムエチルアセトアセテート・ジイソプロピレート溶液を1.0質量部加えて160℃に昇温し1.0時間加熱撹拌後、140℃まで冷却し、BHT(本州化学(株)社製)0.3質量部を仕込み撹拌した後、平版オフセット印刷インキ用樹脂ワニスを得た。
<<平版オフセット印刷インキ用樹脂ワニスの調製>>

<<平版オフセット印刷インキの調製>>
下記の配合割合で、3本ロールミルを用いて練肉し、平版オフセット印刷インキを得た。

天然色素多量体化合物 16部
AFソルベント7号 19部
下記の配合割合で、3本ロールミルを用いて練肉し、平版オフセット印刷インキを得た。

表1に記載の天然色素多量体化合物を用い、上記<<平版オフセット印刷インキの調製>>に記載の方法で平版オフセット印刷インキを調製した。
<印刷インキ展色物の調製>
平版オフセット印刷インキを、ヘラを用いてトップコート紙に展色した後、ドライヤーで乾燥し、展色物を得た。

<印刷インキ展色物の色相の測定>
分光測色計(X-rite社製SpectroEye)を用い、観測光源D50、観測視野2°の条件で、CIELAB色空間で印刷インキ展色物の色相(L*値、a*値、b*値)を測定した。
また、得られた測定値をもとに、以下式を用いて彩度C*を算出した。
C*=√((a*)^2+(b*)^2)
分光測色計(X-rite社製SpectroEye)を用い、観測光源D50、観測視野2°の条件で、CIELAB色空間で印刷インキ展色物の色相(L*値、a*値、b*値)を測定した。
また、得られた測定値をもとに、以下式を用いて彩度C*を算出した。
C*=√((a*)^2+(b*)^2)
<耐光性試験>
作製した印刷インキ展色物について、JIS K 5600:2008に規定されている「促進耐候性及び促進耐光性(キセノンランプ法)」に準拠し、株式会社東洋精機製作所製アトラスウェザオメーターCi3000を用いて、放射照度40W/m2、ブラックパネル温度63℃、50%RH、露光時間15時間の条件にて耐光性試験を行った。なお、試験前後の展色物について、上記の方法にて色相の測定を行い、試験前後における色差ΔE値(ΔE=√{(ΔL*^2)+(Δa*^2)+(Δb*^2)}^2;なお、ここでΔL、ΔaおよびΔbとは、展色物の試験前後におけるL値、a値およびb値の差を表す)を用いて、耐光性を以下のとおり評価した。
作製した印刷インキ展色物について、JIS K 5600:2008に規定されている「促進耐候性及び促進耐光性(キセノンランプ法)」に準拠し、株式会社東洋精機製作所製アトラスウェザオメーターCi3000を用いて、放射照度40W/m2、ブラックパネル温度63℃、50%RH、露光時間15時間の条件にて耐光性試験を行った。なお、試験前後の展色物について、上記の方法にて色相の測定を行い、試験前後における色差ΔE値(ΔE=√{(ΔL*^2)+(Δa*^2)+(Δb*^2)}^2;なお、ここでΔL、ΔaおよびΔbとは、展色物の試験前後におけるL値、a値およびb値の差を表す)を用いて、耐光性を以下のとおり評価した。
[評価基準]
A:ΔE値が5以下
B:ΔE値が5超かつ10以下
C:ΔE値が10超かつ20以下
D:ΔE値が20超かつ30以下
E:ΔE値が30超
A:ΔE値が5以下
B:ΔE値が5超かつ10以下
C:ΔE値が10超かつ20以下
D:ΔE値が20超かつ30以下
E:ΔE値が30超
(実施例10)
上記実施例2~6、及び上記比較例1~2で得られた天然色素多量体化合物の粉末について、上記の多量体化合物の分子量測定方法により、数平均分子量Mnならびに重量平均分子量Mw、分子量分布(=Mw/Mn)を測定した結果を下記表2に示す。

(実施例11)
上記実施例2~6、及び上記比較例1~2で得られた天然色素多量体化合物の粉末について、当該粉末を顔料として使用し、上記<平版オフセット印刷インキの調製>及び上記<印刷インキ展色物の調製>の欄で記載の方法により印刷インキ展色物を作製し、次いで上記<印刷インキ展色物の色相の測定>及び上記<耐光性試験>の欄で記載の方法により、耐光性を評価した。
各天然色素多量体化合物の平版オフセット印刷インキにおける耐光性試験の評価結果を、下記表3に示す。
上記実施例2~6、及び上記比較例1~2で得られた天然色素多量体化合物の粉末について、当該粉末を顔料として使用し、上記<平版オフセット印刷インキの調製>及び上記<印刷インキ展色物の調製>の欄で記載の方法により印刷インキ展色物を作製し、次いで上記<印刷インキ展色物の色相の測定>及び上記<耐光性試験>の欄で記載の方法により、耐光性を評価した。
各天然色素多量体化合物の平版オフセット印刷インキにおける耐光性試験の評価結果を、下記表3に示す。
上記実施例より、有機酸が結合した天然色素が繰り返し形成された天然色素多量体からなる本発明の化合物は、発色性及び耐光性に優れた、バイオマス度の高い化合物となることが確認できた。
<海洋生分解性の評価>
目開き30μmのメッシュで異物を除去した海水(千葉県習志野市の茜浜港から採取)100質量部に対し、0.015質量部の天然色素多量体化合物を加え、水温を27℃に保ちながら、マグネチックスターラーで30日間撹拌した。試験後の天然色素多量体化合物をメンブレンフィルターでろ別し、60℃で24時間真空乾燥した後に重量を測定した。同様の操作をポリヒドロキシ酪酸の粉末(Sigma-Aldrich社製)でも行い、試験後の重量を測定した。なお、重量減少度、ならびに相対重量減少度については以下の式(1)~(3)により算出し、下記基準で海洋生分解性を評価した。

・天然色素多量体化合物の重量減少度=100-(30日後のサンプル重量/試験前のサンプル重量)×100 (1)
・ポリヒドロキシ酪酸の重量減少度=100-(30日後のポリヒドロキシ酪酸の重量/試験前のポリヒドロキシ酪酸の重量)×100 (2)
・相対重量減少度=(天然色素多量体化合物の重量減少度/ポリヒドロキシ酪酸の重量減少度)×100 (3)
・ポリヒドロキシ酪酸の重量減少度=100-(30日後のポリヒドロキシ酪酸の重量/試験前のポリヒドロキシ酪酸の重量)×100 (2)
・相対重量減少度=(天然色素多量体化合物の重量減少度/ポリヒドロキシ酪酸の重量減少度)×100 (3)
[評価基準]
A:相対重量減少度が15%以上
B:相対重量減少度が10%以上15%未満
C:相対重量減少度が5%以上10%未満
D:相対重量減少度が5%未満
A:相対重量減少度が15%以上
B:相対重量減少度が10%以上15%未満
C:相対重量減少度が5%以上10%未満
D:相対重量減少度が5%未満
(実施例12)
上記実施例2と実施例4で得られた天然色素多量体化合物の粉末について、上記<海洋生分解性の評価>の欄で記載の方法により、海水中の生分解性を評価した。結果を下記表4に示す。

上記実施例より、有機酸が結合した天然色素が繰り返し形成された天然色素多量体からなる本発明の化合物は、海洋生分解性を有することを確認できた。
Claims (7)
- クルクミンの天然色素と有機酸とが結合してなる化合物であって、前記化合物の数平均分子量(Mn)が400~4950である、化合物。
- アリザリン、カルミン酸、ラック色素またはラッカイン酸、カプサンチンまたはトウガラシ色素、サフロミンまたはベニバナ黄色素、シソニンまたはシソ色素、及びキサントモナシンまたはベニコウジ色素の中から選ばれた少なくとも1種以上の天然色素と有機酸とが結合してなる、化合物。
- 前記有機酸がカルボン酸基を少なくとも1つ以上有する、請求項1又は2に記載の化合物。
- 前記カルボン酸が天然由来のカルボン酸である、請求項3に記載の化合物。
- 前記有機酸が、カルボン酸、ヒドロキシ酸、及びスルホン酸のいずれかである、請求項1又は2に記載の化合物。
- 前記化合物の平均粒子径が0.01~100μmである、請求項1又は2に記載の化合物。
- インキ、トナー、又は塗料用の着色剤として用いる、請求項1又は2に記載の化合物。
