Definitions
- the present invention relates to a printing apparatus for printing on long media.
- Patent Documents 1 to 3 are conventionally known (see Patent Documents 1 to 3, for example).
- the printer described in Patent Document 1 includes a transport mechanism that transports a medium in its longitudinal direction, a printer head that prints on the medium, and a cutting head that cuts the medium into a predetermined shape.
- the printer head and cutting head are supported by common guide rails and are slidable in the width direction of the medium perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the medium.
- the medium printed by the print head is cut into a predetermined shape by the cutting head.
- the medium is composed of a backing paper and a sealing material detachably attached to the backing paper, the medium is half-cut in which only the sealing material is cut into a predetermined shape by the cutting head.
- the medium before printing is wound into a roll.
- a roll of pre-printed media is attached to the media feeding section.
- the half-cut medium is wound into a roll.
- the half-cut medium wound into a roll is attached to the medium winding section.
- the printer described in Patent Document 2 includes a transport roller and a pinch roller that transport the medium in the longitudinal direction of the medium, a recording head that prints on the medium, a carriage on which the recording head is mounted, a platen that is arranged at a position facing the recording head, a cutter that cuts the medium after printing in the width direction of the medium perpendicular to the transport direction of the medium, and a slitter that cuts the medium after printing along the transport direction of the medium.

- JP 2010-247915 A Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2020-163726 JP 2011-177950 A
- the inventor of the present application is considering cutting the medium in the width direction of the medium as in the printer described in Patent Document 2 after half-cutting the medium after printing, as in the printer described in Patent Document 1, and cutting the medium along the transport direction of the medium.
- the medium is also conveyed in the opposite direction. Therefore, when half-cutting the medium and cutting the medium along the transport direction of the medium, there is a possibility that the medium cannot be cut properly due to the influence of the medium being transported in the opposite direction.
- the inventor of the present application is considering a method of winding the medium after printing and half-cutting into a roll without cutting the medium in the width direction of the medium and in the direction of transport of the medium, and then feeding the rolled medium again to cut the medium in the width direction of the medium and the direction of transport of the medium.
- the leading edge of the medium (the leading edge in the longitudinal direction of the medium) when printing and half-cutting is the trailing edge of the medium (the trailing edge in the longitudinal direction of the medium) when cutting the medium in the width direction of the medium and in the transport direction of the medium.
- the trailing edge of the medium when printing and half-cutting is the leading edge of the medium when cutting the medium in the width direction of the medium and in the transport direction of the medium.
- the inventors of the present application are considering cutting a part of the medium in the width direction linearly in the width direction of the medium instead of cutting the entire length of the medium in the width direction so that the blank portion to be wound into a roll by the medium take-up unit is formed continuously in the transportation direction of the medium after the printed and half-cut portions have been cut off.
- a reference for appropriately cutting a portion of the medium in the width direction of the medium is required, but no conventional proposal has been made on how to provide a reference for appropriately cutting a portion of the medium in the width direction of the medium.
- the printing apparatus of the present invention is a printing apparatus that prints on a long medium that is cut after printing, and includes a printing mechanism that prints on the medium, a medium transport mechanism that transports the medium in the longitudinal direction of the medium, a medium feeding unit that attaches the rolled medium before transporting it to the printing mechanism, and a media winding unit that attaches the rolled medium after passing through the printing mechanism.
- the direction is defined as the medium width direction
- the side where the medium delivery unit is arranged in the medium conveyance direction is the upstream side in the medium conveyance direction
- the side where the medium winding unit is arranged is the downstream side in the medium conveyance direction
- the cut position in the medium conveyance direction of the medium that is linearly cut in the medium width direction after printing is defined as the medium cut position
- the cut range in the medium width direction of the medium at the medium cut position is defined as the medium cut range.
- First mark printing data which is data for printing
- second mark printing data which is data for printing on the medium a first cutting range mark arranged at a position corresponding to one end of the medium cutting range in the medium width direction and a second cutting range mark arranged at a position corresponding to the other end of the medium cutting range in the medium width direction
- an image is printed on the medium based on the image data
- an image is printed on the medium, and is separated from each of the plurality of medium cutting positions by a certain distance upstream in the transport direction based on the first mark printing data.
- a plurality of cut position marks are printed at positions, and the first cut range mark and the second cut range mark are printed on the medium based on the second mark printing data.
- the printing mechanism receives the first mark printing data, which is data for printing on the medium a cut position mark for specifying the medium cutting position, and prints a plurality of cut position marks at positions separated by a certain distance upstream in the transport direction from each of the plurality of medium cutting positions based on the first mark printing data. Therefore, in the present invention, when the medium after printing that has been wound in a roll shape is fed out again and the medium is cut in the medium width direction, the cut position marks are arranged at positions separated by a certain distance downstream in the transport direction from each of the medium cut positions. Therefore, in the present invention, even when the medium after printing that has been wound in a roll is fed again and the medium is cut in the medium width direction and the medium transport direction, it is possible to recognize the medium cut position based on the cut position mark.
- the printing mechanism receives second mark printing data, which is data for printing on the medium a first cut range mark arranged at a position corresponding to one end of the medium cut range in the medium width direction and a second cut range mark arranged at a position corresponding to the other end of the medium cut range in the medium width direction, and prints the first cut range mark and the second cut range mark based on the second mark print data. printed on media.
- the medium cut range can be recognized based on the first cut range mark and the second cut range mark.
- the present invention when the medium after printing that has been rolled up in a roll is fed out again, and the medium is cut in the medium width direction and the medium transport direction, and even when part of the medium in the medium width direction is cut in the medium width direction, it is possible to recognize the medium cut position and the medium cut range for appropriately cutting the medium in the medium width direction based on the cut position mark, the first cut range mark, and the second cut range mark. That is, in the present invention, when the medium after printing that has been wound in a roll shape is fed out again, and the medium is cut in the medium width direction and the medium transport direction, and even when part of the medium in the medium width direction is cut in the medium width direction, it is possible to print a mark for appropriately cutting the medium in the medium width direction.
- the cutting mechanism recognize the medium cutting position and the medium cutting range for appropriately cutting the medium in the medium width direction by sending the data held by the personal computer to the cutting mechanism that cuts the medium in the medium width direction when the medium after printing that has been wound in a roll shape is fed out again and the medium is cut in the medium width direction.
- the personal computer does not need to keep holding the data if it sends the data to the printing mechanism when printing with the printing mechanism. Further, according to the present invention, it is not necessary to associate the re-fed medium with the data.
- the cut position mark is a straight line parallel to the medium width direction
- the first cut range mark and the second cut range mark are straight lines parallel to the medium transport direction
- the printing mechanism prints the cut position mark on one end of the medium in the medium width direction, and prints the first cut range mark and the second cut range mark on at least the upstream end of the medium wound in the medium winder in the transport direction.
- the printing mechanism if the cut position in the medium width direction of the medium that is cut linearly in the medium transport direction after printing is the second medium cut position, the printing mechanism preferably prints the first cut range mark and the second cut range mark at the same position as the second medium cut position in the medium width direction.
- the printing apparatus includes, for example, a first mark detection mechanism for detecting the cut position mark printed on the printed medium, a second mark detection mechanism for detecting the first cut range mark and the second cut range mark printed on the printed medium, a cutting mechanism for cutting the printed medium in the medium width direction, and the printed medium along the medium transport direction. a second cutting mechanism for cutting, the cutting mechanism cutting the printed medium in the medium width direction based on the detection results of the first mark detection mechanism and the second mark detection mechanism.
- the printing mechanism, the cutting mechanism and the second cutting mechanism are attached to the same support, and the printed medium wound in a roll shape is attached to the medium feeding section.
- the configuration of the printing apparatus can be simplified compared to the case where the support to which the printing mechanism is attached and the support to which the cutting mechanism and the second cutting mechanism are attached are provided separately. Further, with this configuration, the configuration of the printing apparatus can be simplified as compared with the case where, in addition to the medium feeding section, a feeding section to which the rolled printed medium fed toward the cutting mechanism and the second cutting mechanism is attached is separately provided.
- the cutting mechanism includes a cutter blade that cuts the medium after printing, a cutting carriage that holds the cutter blade, and a cutting carriage driving mechanism that moves the cutting carriage in the width direction of the medium. Cut range data generated based on the detection result of (1) is received, and the medium after printing is cut in the medium width direction based on the received cut range data and the detection result of the first mark detection mechanism.
- the printing mechanism preferably includes an inkjet head that ejects ink onto a medium, a printing carriage on which the inkjet head is mounted, and a printing carriage driving mechanism that moves the printing carriage in the medium width direction.
- the second mark detection mechanism detects the cut position mark printed on the medium after printing
- the cutting mechanism receives mark position data that is data for specifying the position of the cut position mark in the medium width direction generated based on the detection result of the cut position mark by the second mark detection mechanism
- the cutting carriage drive mechanism moves the cutting carriage to a position where the first mark detection mechanism can detect the cut position mark based on the mark position data received by the cutting mechanism.
- the present invention in a printing apparatus that prints on a long medium that is cut after printing, when the medium after printing that has been wound in a roll is fed out again, and the medium is cut in the width direction of the medium and in the transport direction of the medium, and even in the case of cutting a part of the medium in the width direction of the medium in the width direction of the medium, it is possible to print a mark for appropriately cutting the medium in the width direction of the medium.

- the medium 2 half-cut by the cutting head 66 forms a half-cut line CL2 surrounding the image, as shown in FIG. 11, for example.
- the medium 2 is half-cut, the medium 2 is conveyed to the downstream side in the conveying direction, the medium 2 is conveyed to the upstream side in the conveying direction, and the medium 2 is conveyed to both sides in the medium conveying direction.
- the medium transport mechanism 5 cannot transport the medium 2 upstream in the transport direction by a predetermined amount or more. Further, even if it were possible to retract the pad roller 33 and create a situation in which the medium 2 was not sandwiched between the transport roller 32 and the pad roller 33, if the medium 2 was cut by the cutting mechanism 7 and the second cutting mechanism 8 while the medium 2 was being transported to both sides in the medium transport direction, the medium 2 might not be cut appropriately in the medium width direction and the medium transport direction due to the effect of the medium 2 being transported upstream in the transport direction.
- the medium 2 that has been printed and half-cut is not cut by the cutting mechanism 7 and the second cutting mechanism 8, but is temporarily wound into a roll by the medium winding mechanism 26 (see FIG. 1).
- the medium 2 wound in a roll after printing and half-cutting is fed again from the medium feeding unit 14 and cut by the cutting mechanism 7 and the second cutting mechanism 8 .
- the medium 2 after printing by the printing mechanism 3 and after being removed from the medium winding unit 17 is the printed medium, the printed medium wound in a roll shape is attached to the medium delivery unit 14. Further, the cutting mechanism 7 and the second cutting mechanism 8 cut the medium after printing.
- the downstream end in the transport direction of the medium 2 when printing and half-cutting is performed is the upstream end in the transporting direction of the medium 2 when cutting is performed by the cutting mechanism 7 and the second cutting mechanism 8
- the upstream end in the transporting direction of the medium 2 when printing and half-cutting is the downstream end in the transport direction of the medium 2 when cutting is performed by the cutting mechanism 7 and the second cutting mechanism 8.
- the right edge of the medium 2 when printing and half-cutting is the left edge of the medium 2 when it is cut by the cutting mechanism 7 and the second cutting mechanism 8, and the left edge of the medium 2 when printing and half-cutting is the right edge of the medium 2 when it is cut by the cutting mechanism 7 and the second cutting mechanism 8.
- FIG. 11A is a diagram for explaining the state of the upstream end in the transport direction of the medium 2 before it is removed from the medium take-up unit 17 after printing and half-cutting.
- FIG. 11B is a diagram for explaining the state of the downstream end in the transport direction of the medium 2 attached to the medium feeding section 14 after printing and half-cutting have been completed and the medium 2 has been removed from the medium winding section 17.
- the cutting mechanism 7 and the second cutting mechanism 8 do not cut the medium 2 . Therefore, the medium 2 that has passed through the after-platen 25 after printing and half-cutting passes in front of the cutting mechanism 7, the second cutting mechanism 8, and the tensioning mechanism 10, as indicated by the two-dot chain line in FIG. Then, the medium 2 passes under the cutting mechanism 7 and is wound up by the medium winding mechanism 26 .
- the medium 2 that has passed through the after platen 25 moves toward the tension bar 9 (see the solid line in FIG. 1), as in the first embodiment. Further, when the medium 2 is cut by the cutting mechanism 7 and the second cutting mechanism 8 , the medium 2 passes over the print platen 24 .
- the medium winding unit 17 holds the winding roll 16 around which the medium 2 after printing and half-cutting is wound.
- the medium take-up unit 17 holds the take-up roll 16 around which the second margin 2c is wound in a roll shape, as in the first embodiment.
- the carriage 21 of the printing mechanism 3 is equipped with a sensor 67 (see FIG. 12) for detecting a first cut range mark M11 and a second cut range mark M12 printed on the medium 2, which will be described later.
- the printing apparatus 1 includes a sensor 67 for detecting the first cut range mark M11 and the second cut range mark M12, and the sensor 67 is arranged upstream of the cutting mechanism 7 in the transport direction.
- the sensor 67 is a reflective optical sensor similar to the sensor 56 , and includes a light-emitting portion and a light-receiving portion that receives light emitted from the light-emitting portion and reflected by the medium 2 . A light emitting portion of the sensor 67 emits light downward.

- An origin specifying mark M2 for specifying is printed on the medium 2.
- the medium cut range means the range of the cut line CL1 formed on the medium 2 in the horizontal direction.
- the cut position mark M1 is a straight line (line segment) parallel to the left-right direction.
- the printing mechanism 3 prints a cut position mark M1 on one end in the left-right direction of the medium 2, which serves as the second margin 2c.
- the cut position mark M1 of the present embodiment is printed at a position separated from the medium cut position by a certain distance upstream in the transport direction (see FIG. 11A). That is, the printing mechanism 3 prints a plurality of cut position marks M1 at positions separated from each of the plurality of medium cut positions by a certain distance upstream in the transport direction.
- the first cut range mark M11 and the second cut range mark M12 are straight lines (line segments) parallel to the medium transport direction.
- the printing mechanism 3 prints the first cut range mark M11 and the second cut range mark M12 on the medium 2 wound by the medium winder 17 at the upstream end in the transport direction. For example, as shown in FIG. 11, when two cut-out portions 2a are arranged side by side in the width direction of the medium 2, the printing mechanism 3 prints two first cut range marks M11 and two second cut range marks M12.
- the printing mechanism 3 prints the first cutting range mark M11 inside the left-right direction of one end of the medium cutting range, and prints the second cutting range mark M12 inside the other end of the medium cutting range in the left-right direction. Further, as in the first embodiment, the printing mechanism 3 prints the first cut range mark M11 and the second cut range mark M12 at the same position as the second medium cut position in the horizontal direction.
- the second medium cut position means a position where the cut lines CL11 to CL14 are formed in the horizontal direction of the medium 2 (the horizontal direction in FIG. 11A).
- the cut lines CL11 to CL14 are linear cut regions formed by cutting the medium 2 along the medium conveying direction by the second cutting mechanism 8 .
- the printing mechanism 3 may print the first cut range mark M11 and the second cut range mark M12 on the first margin 2b at a predetermined pitch in the medium transport direction in addition to the first cut range mark M11 and the second cut range mark M12 printed on the upstream end in the transport direction of the medium 2 wound on the medium winder 17.
- the origin specifying mark M2 is a straight line (line segment) parallel to the medium transport direction.
- the printing mechanism 3 prints the origin specifying mark M ⁇ b>2 on the medium 2 wound by the medium winding unit 17 at the upstream end in the transport direction. Further, for example, the downstream end in the transport direction of the origin specifying mark M2 is connected to the inner end in the left-right direction of the cut position mark M1 that is printed on the most upstream side in the transport direction, and the origin specifying mark M2 is printed on one end in the left-right direction of the medium 2 that serves as the second margin 2c.
- the following data is created in the PC 61 before printing and half-cutting of the medium 2 are performed.
- Half-cut data which is data for half-cutting the medium 2
- Cut position data which is data for specifying the medium cut position
- First mark printing data which is data for printing the cut position mark M1 on the medium 2
- the operator of the printing device 1 creates these data on the display of the PC 61. After these data are created in the PC 61, when the operator performs a predetermined operation on the PC 61, the PC 61 transmits the created image data, half-cut data, cut position data, first mark print data, second mark print data, third mark print data, and cut range data to the print control unit 62, and the print control unit 62 receives these data. That is, the printing mechanism 3 receives these data.

Further, the printing mechanism 3 half-cuts the medium 2 based on the half-cutting data after printing the medium 2 .
- the medium 2 when the medium 2 is printed and half-cut, the medium 2 is set so that the medium 2 that has passed through the after-platen 25 after printing and half-cut passes the front side of the cutting mechanism 7, the second cutting mechanism 8, and the tension applying mechanism 10, and the lower side of the cutting mechanism 7, and then is wound up by the medium winding mechanism 26.
- the medium 2 After being printed and half-cut, the medium 2 is wound into a roll by the medium winding mechanism 26 (see FIG. 1) and removed from the medium winding section 17 by the operator.
- the printed and half-cut roll-shaped medium 2 removed from the medium take-up unit 17 is attached to the medium delivery unit 14 (see FIG. 1) by the operator.
- the roll-shaped medium 2 attached to the medium delivery unit 14 is pulled out by the operator, and the downstream end of the medium 2 in the transport direction is placed on the print platen 24 .
- the sensor 67 detects the origin specifying mark M2 (see FIG. 11A), and also detects the cut position mark M1 to which the upstream end of the origin specifying mark M2 is connected (that is, the cut position mark M1 printed most downstream in the transport direction).
- the print control unit 62 identifies the origin position based on the detection result of the sensor 67 .
- the origin position of the medium 2 is the position of the connection point between the origin specifying mark M2 and the cut position mark M1.
- the sensor 67 detects the first cut range mark M11 and the second cut range mark M12.
- the sensor 67 of this embodiment is a second mark detection mechanism for detecting the first cut range mark M11 and the second cut range mark M12 printed on the medium after printing.
- the carriage 21 moves in the horizontal direction. Further, when the sensor 67 detects the cut position mark M1, the medium transport mechanism 5 transports the medium 2. As shown in FIG. Before the sensor 67 detects the origin specifying mark M2 and the cutting position mark M1, the operator adjusts the position of the carriage 21 in the horizontal direction and the position of the downstream end of the medium 2 in the medium transport direction. Specifically, the carriage 21 is equipped with a laser pointer that emits laser light downward, and the operator adjusts the position of the carriage 21 and the position of the downstream end of the medium 2 in the transport direction while checking the laser light emitted from the laser pointer to the medium 2.
- the print control unit 62 Based on the detection result of the cut position mark M1 by the sensor 67, the print control unit 62 generates mark position data, which is data for specifying the horizontal position of the cut position mark M1. Further, the print control unit 62 corrects the cut range data based on the detection results of the first cut range mark M11 and the second cut range mark M12 by the sensor 67, and generates corrected cut range data. The print control unit 62 also transmits the cut position data, the mark position data, and the corrected cut range data to the cut control unit 63, and the cut control unit 63 receives these data. That is, the cutting mechanism 7 receives these data.
- the cutting control unit 63 Upon receiving the cut position data, cut range data, and mark position data, the cutting control unit 63 moves the carriage 34 to a position where the sensor 56 can detect the cut position mark M1 based on the mark position data. That is, the carriage drive mechanism 36 moves the carriage 34 to a position where the sensor 56 can detect the cut position mark M1 based on the mark position data received by the cutting mechanism 7 .
- the cutting mechanism 7 cuts the medium 2, this position becomes the reference position of the carriage 34, and the carriage 34 starts to move from this position.
- the operator uses the first cutting range mark M11 and the second cutting range mark M12 printed at the same position in the horizontal direction as the second medium cutting position as a guide, adjusts the position of the second cutting mechanism 8 in the horizontal direction, and fixes the second cutting mechanism 8 to the support frame 35. Thereafter, the cutting of the medium 2 by the second cutting mechanism 8 and the cutting of the medium 2 by the cutting mechanism 7 are performed.
- the second cutting mechanism 8 cuts the medium 2 as the medium 2 is conveyed by the second medium conveying mechanism 30 .
- a cutting mechanism 7 cuts the medium 2 based on the cut range data.
- the stop position of the medium 2 is also controlled based on the detection result of the sensor 56 and cut position data in this embodiment. Specifically, when the medium 2 is conveyed by the second medium conveying mechanism 30 by a predetermined amount after the sensor 56 detects the cut position mark M1, the medium 2 is stopped and the cutting mechanism 7 cuts the medium 2 .
- the sensor 56 of this embodiment is a first mark detection mechanism for detecting the cut position mark M1 printed on the medium after printing. When the medium 2 is cut by the cutting mechanism 7, the cut position mark M1 is arranged at a certain distance downstream in the transport direction from the medium cut position (see FIG. 11B).
- the cutting mechanism 7 cuts the medium 2 in the horizontal direction based on the cut range data corrected based on the detection results of the first cut range mark M11 and the second cut range mark M12 by the sensor 67 (that is, the cut range data received by the cutting mechanism 7 from the print control unit 62) and the detection result of the sensor 56. That is, the cutting mechanism 7 cuts the medium 2 horizontally based on the detection results of the sensors 56 and 67 .
- the sensor 67 may detect the origin specifying mark M2, the cut position mark M1, the first cut range mark M11, and the second cut range mark M12 again after the cutting mechanism 7 and the second cutting mechanism 8 start cutting the medium 2.
- the print control unit 62 generates mark position data again, corrects the cut range data, and transmits the cut position data, the mark position data, and the corrected cut range data to the cut control unit 63 .

- the printed medium attached to the medium feeding unit 14 and fed again from the medium feeding unit 14 has the cut position mark M1 at a position that is a certain distance downstream in the transport direction from each of the medium cut positions. Therefore, in this embodiment, even when the medium is fed out again after printing and cut in the medium width direction and the medium transport direction, the medium cut position can be recognized based on the cut position mark M1.
- the printing mechanism 3 prints the first cut range mark M11 and the second cut range mark M12 based on the second mark printing data. Therefore, in this embodiment, even when part of the printed medium fed out again from the medium feeding unit 14 in the medium width direction is cut in the medium width direction, the medium cut range can be recognized based on the first cut range mark M11 and the second cut range mark M12.
- the medium cut position and the medium cut range for appropriately cutting the printed medium in the medium width direction based on the cut position mark M1, the first cut range mark M11, and the second cut range mark M12. That is, in this embodiment, even when the medium after printing is fed out again and cut in the medium width direction and the medium transport direction, and even when part of the medium after printing in the medium width direction is cut in the medium width direction, it is possible to print a mark for appropriately cutting the medium after printing in the medium width direction.

- the first cut range mark M11 and the second cut range mark M12 are printed at the same position as the second medium cut position in the medium width direction. Therefore, in this embodiment, as described above, the operator can use the first cutting range mark M11 and the second cutting range mark M12 as guides to adjust the position of the second cutting mechanism 8 in the medium width direction and fix the second cutting mechanism 8 to the support frame 35.

- the printed medium wound in a roll is attached to the medium feeding section 14, it is possible to simplify the configuration of the printing apparatus 1 compared to a case where a feeding section to which the rolled printed medium is attached is separately provided in addition to the medium feeding section 14.
- the sensor 67 is mounted on the carriage 21 of the printing mechanism 3 . Therefore, in this embodiment, the movement of the carriage 21 is used to allow the sensor 67 to detect the first cut range mark M11, the second cut range mark M12, and the like. Therefore, in this embodiment, the configuration of the printing apparatus 1 can be simplified as compared with the case where a carriage on which the sensor 67 is mounted is separately provided in addition to the carriage 21 .
- the carriage drive mechanism 36 moves the carriage 34 to a position where the sensor 56 can detect the cut position mark M1 based on the mark position data, and the carriage 34 is moved in advance to a position where the sensor 56 can detect the cut position mark M1 and stops. Therefore, in this embodiment, when the cutting mechanism 7 cuts the medium after printing, the sensor 56 can quickly detect the cut position mark M1.
- the first cut range mark M11 and the second cut range mark M12 are printed on the portion of the medium 2 that avoids the cut portion 2a, but a portion of the first cut range mark M11 and a portion of the second cut range mark M12 may be printed on the cut portion 2a.
- the lengths of the first cutting range mark M11 and the second cutting range mark M12 in the medium transport direction are longer, it becomes easier to adjust the position of the second cutting mechanism 8 when adjusting the position of the second cutting mechanism 8 in the horizontal direction using the first cutting range mark M11 and the second cutting range mark M12 as marks.
- the first cutting range mark M11 and the second cutting range mark M12 may be printed at positions shifted from the second medium cutting position in the horizontal direction.
- the first cutting range mark M11 may be printed at the same position as one end of the medium cutting range in the horizontal direction

- the first cutting range mark M11 may be printed laterally outside one end of the medium cutting range in the lateral direction
- the second cutting range mark M12 may be printed laterally outside the other end of the medium cutting range in the lateral direction.
- a mark may be printed on the medium 2 as a mark for adjusting the position of the second cutting mechanism 8 in the horizontal direction.
- the senor 67 does not have to be mounted on the carriage 21 of the printing mechanism 3 .
- a carriage on which the sensor 67 is mounted is separately provided.
- the sensor 56 may not be mounted on the carriage 34 of the cutting mechanism 7 .
- a carriage on which the sensor 56 is mounted is separately provided.
- the sensor 56 may detect the first cut range mark M11 and the second cut range mark M12.
- the sensor 56 is a first mark detection mechanism for detecting the cut position mark M1 printed on the medium after printing, and a second mark detection mechanism for detecting the first cut range mark M11 and the second cut range mark M12 printed on the medium after printing. Further, in this case, the sensor 56 detects the origin specifying mark M2 and also detects the cut position mark M1 to which the upstream end of the origin specifying mark M2 in the transport direction is connected.
- the support to which the printing mechanism 3 is attached and the support to which the cutting mechanism 7 and the second cutting mechanism 8 are attached may be provided separately.
- a feeding section to which the roll-shaped printed medium is attached may be provided separately.
- the printer 1 does not have to include the cutting mechanism 7 and the second cutting mechanism 8 .

- perforations having a predetermined shape corresponding to the image printed on the medium 2 may be formed on the medium 2 after printing.
- medium 2 is made of paper, and cutting head 66 forms perforations in medium 2 after printing.
- a perforation cut line having the same shape as the half cut line CL2 is formed on the medium 2 .
- the medium 2 instead of half-cutting the medium 2, the medium 2 may be cut out for decoration by cutting out part of the medium 2 after printing.

Abstract
