Definitions
- the present invention relates to a welded structure used in container ships and the like, as well as its design method and construction method.
- a large opening is formed on the upper deck for loading and unloading cargo.
- hatch side coamings are provided on the upper deck so as to surround the hatch to prevent inflow of seawater.
- the upper deck and hatch side coaming are each constructed by welding together multiple steel plates. Also, the hatch side coaming is welded on the upper deck.
- the hatch side coaming and upper deck each have a structure in which multiple steel plates are welded together.
- the hatch side coaming and the upper deck have a plurality of welds formed by welding the steel plates together.
- a crack initiated in a welded portion tends to propagate along the welded portion.
- the crack may propagate along the welded portion toward the upper deck, and propagate to the upper deck. . Therefore, in order to sufficiently improve the strength of the hull, the hatch side coamings and the upper deck must have properties capable of stopping the growth of cracks (brittle crack arresting properties).
- Patent Documents 1 and 2 disclose welded structures related to brittle crack arresting properties.
- the “Kca value at ⁇ 10° C.”, which is an index of brittle crack propagation arresting properties, should be 6000 N It is known that it is necessary to use a thick steel plate with a thickness of 1.5 or more/mm.
- cracks can also originate from the upper deck and propagate toward the hatch side coaming. According to the results of a demonstration test conducted in joint research by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai and the Japan Welding Society, in order to stop the propagation of cracks that occur on the upper deck and propagate toward the hatch side coaming side, , 8000 N/mm.
- a large-scale test such as an ESSO test (brittle fracture arrest test: a test to artificially generate a brittle crack in a test piece and evaluate the ability to stop the brittle crack) should be implemented.
- ESSO test brittle fracture arrest test: a test to artificially generate a brittle crack in a test piece and evaluate the ability to stop the brittle crack
- Patent Document 3 the brittle crack arresting property in the surface layer portion of the thick steel plate that becomes hatch side coaming is improved according to the depth of the region where the crack penetrates. It has been realized to obtain a welded structure having excellent brittle crack arrestability at low cost.
- Patent Document 3 when a crack propagates from the upper deck toward the hatch side coaming, the crack penetration region is limited only to the surface layer region of the thick steel plate used for the hatch side coaming. I'm assuming a structure like this. Therefore, when the depth of the region into which the crack penetrates is large, excessive brittle crack arrestability is required for the surface layer portion of the thick steel plate used for hatch side coaming.
- the penetration depth of the weld metal When emphasizing the joint strength of the joint between the upper deck and the hatch side coaming, it is necessary to set the penetration depth of the weld metal to be large, and the crack penetration area may not be limited to the surface layer area.
- the crack penetration area In general, in a thick steel plate, it is possible to produce different metallographic structures in the surface layer region and the inner region, and therefore the brittle crack arrestability may be greatly different. For this reason, especially with respect to welded structures in which the weld metal has a large penetration depth, it is necessary to consider the characteristics of the internal region, and there is room for further improvement.
- the present invention has been made to solve such problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a welded structure excellent in joint strength and brittle crack arrestability, as well as a design method and a construction method thereof. .
