Abstract
Description
生分解性樹脂の海洋中での生分解性を向上させる方法として、海水に溶解する化合物を生分解性樹脂と混合する方法や、生分解性樹脂の分解菌を予め生分解樹脂に含有させる方法が知られている。
例えば、特許文献1には、生分解性樹脂に重質炭酸カルシウムを含有させることで炭酸カルシウムが海洋中に溶け出し、残存した樹脂の比表面積を増大させることによって生分解性が向上した生分解性樹脂の成形品が開示されている。
また、特許文献2には、有機分解菌を混練もしくは塗布した生分解性フィルム材料が土壌や水に接触すると、有機分解菌が放出され、フィルム中の樹脂の生分解が始まる生分解性フィルム材料が開示されている。
したがって、本発明は、海洋中での生分解性が高い成形品を作製可能な生分解樹脂組成物等を提供することを課題とする。
[1] 生分解性樹脂と、
アガロース、アルギン酸ナトリウム、カゼイン及びケラチンからなる群から選択される1種以上の成分と、を含み、
前記生分解性樹脂の含有量が50重量%以上である、生分解性樹脂組成物。
[2] 生分解性樹脂が、ポリ乳酸またはポリブチレンサクシネートアジペートである、[1]に記載の生分解性樹脂組成物。
[3] 前記成分が、アガロースまたはカゼインである、[1]または[2]に記載の生分解性樹脂組成物。
[4] [1]~[3]のいずれかに記載の生分解樹脂組成物が硬化してなる成形品。
[5] 海水と接触する製品用である、[4]に記載の成形品。
[6] [5]に記載の成形品の、海水と接触する製品への使用。
[7] アガロース、アルギン酸ナトリウム、カゼイン及びケラチンからなる群から選択される1種以上の成分と、生分解性樹脂とを混合し、生分解性樹脂の含有量を50重量%以上にする工程を含む、生分解性樹脂組成物の製造方法。
[8] 生分解性樹脂を50重量以上含む生分解性樹脂組成物の調製のための、アガロース、アルギン酸ナトリウム、カゼイン及びケラチンからなる群から選択される1種以上の成分の使用。
[9] 生分解性樹脂が、ポリ乳酸またはポリブチレンサクシネートアジペートである、[8]に記載の使用。
[10] アガロース、アルギン酸ナトリウム、カゼイン及びケラチンからなる群から選択される1種以上の成分を、生分解性樹脂と混合して、得られる樹脂組成物の硬化物の海洋生分解性を向上させる方法。
[11] 生分解性樹脂が、ポリ乳酸またはポリブチレンサクシネートアジペートである、[10]に記載の方法。
本開示の生分解性樹脂組成物に含まれる生分解性樹脂については、生分解性樹脂として知られている樹脂であれば特に制限されない。
例えば、ポリ乳酸、ポリブチレンサクシネートアジペート、ポリブチレンサクシネート、ポリエチレンテレフタレートサクシネート、ポリブチレンアジペート、ポリブチレンテレフタレートアジペート、ポリグリコール酸及びポリビニルアルコールからなる群から選ばれる一種以上を挙げることができる。
ポリ乳酸は生分解性樹脂として知られているが、それは主に土壌中での微生物分解によるものであり、海洋のような微生物の密度が小さい環境では生分解性に劣ることが知られている。
ポリブチレンサクシネートは、特に限定されず、コハク酸(HOCOCH2CH2COOH)と1,4-ブタンジオール(HO(CH2)4OH)とを原料として脱水重縮合により合成したものや、市販品を用いることができる。
ポリブチレンサクシネートアジペートはポリブチレンサクシネートにアジピン酸を共重合した脂肪族ポリエステルである。ポリブチレンサクシネートアジペートは、上記のように合成したものや市販品を用いることもできる。
ポリエチレンテレフタレートサクシネート、ポリブチレンアジペート、ポリブチレンテレフタレートアジペート、ポリグリコール酸及びポリビニルアルコールについては、それぞれ公知の製造方法に従って製造してもよいし、市販品を用いてもよい。
上記のように、ポリ乳酸は土壌中での生分解性が高いことは知られているが、海洋のような海水に接触する環境では生分解性が低いことが知られている。これに対し、本開示の生分解性樹脂組成物では、下記で説明する海洋分解性を促進する成分を含むことにより、その成形品が、海洋のような海水に接触する環境においても良効な生分解性を示す。
生分解性樹脂の中で、ポリ乳酸については、加工温度が高いため、後述する海洋生分解性を促進する成分の劣化を防ぐために生分解性樹脂組成物での含有量は70重量%以上、97重量%以下であることが好ましい。また、ポリブチレンサクシネートについては、ポリ乳酸に比べ加工温度が低いため、生分解性樹脂組成物での含有量は50重量%以上、97重量%以下であることが好ましい。
本開示の生分解性樹脂組成物は、生分解樹脂とは異なる成分として、アガロース、アルギン酸ナトリウム、カゼイン及びケラチンからなる群から選択される1種以上を含む。
上記の成分を含むことで、本開示の生分解性樹脂組成物は、これまで主として土壌中での生分解性のみに着目されていた生分解性樹脂を含む生分解性樹脂組成物の成形品について、海洋のような海水に接触する環境においても、良好な生分解性を示す。
この理由について、本発明者は、上記の成分が樹脂組成物及びその成形品に含まれることで、海水中に含まれる微生物が成形品の表面に凝集しやすくなり、微生物による上記成分及び生分解性樹脂の資化が効率よく起こるためであると推定している。
アルギン酸ナトリウムは、原料となる海藻を酸処理して軟化させたのちにアルカリ(ナトリウム)存在下で加熱し、さらに分離、精製を行うことで得てもよいし、市販品を用いることもできる。
カゼインは牛乳に含まれる乳タンパク質の主要成分であり、市販品を用いることができる。カゼインは栄養価の高いたんぱく質であるため、海水中の微生物に好まれ、生分解性促進の効果が高いため、好ましい。
ケラチンは、髪、皮膚、爪に存在する主要な繊維状の構造タンパク質であり、市販品を用いることができる。
上記成分は一種を単独で用いてもよく、二種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。上記の成分の中でも、アガロースまたはカゼインを好ましく例示できる。
本開示の生分解性樹脂組成物は、その機能を阻害しない範囲で、さらに別の成分を含有してもよい。さらに別の成分としては、顔料、充填剤、レベリング剤、界面活性剤、分散剤、紫外線吸収剤、難燃剤、酸化防止剤、可塑剤、着色剤、架橋剤などを挙げることができる。
本開示の生分解性樹脂組成物の製法は特に限定されるものではないが、公知の方法を用いることができる。例えば、単軸又は多軸の各種押出機により各成分の混合物を所定温度、例えば150~200℃程度の間の温度で、溶融混練する方法が挙げられる。各成分を一括で混練してもよく、任意の成分を混練した後、残りの成分を添加して混練してもよい。
本開示の生分解性樹脂組成物を用いて、成形品を作製することができる。成形品の作製法について制限はなく、上記方法で調製した生分解性樹脂組成物を軟化点以上の温度に加熱し、所望の形状、大きさに成形して冷却することで成形品を作製できる。
上記成形品の用途について特段制限はなく、例えばフィルム、シート、トレイ、またはごみ袋などの汎用品を挙げることができる。これらの汎用品については、使用時は海水に接触していなくても、使用後に海洋に廃棄される可能性があるものも含む。フィルムについては厚み1μm以上、100μm以下を挙げることができ、シートについては厚み100μm以上、2000μm以下を挙げることができる。ごみ袋については厚み1μm以上、20μm以下を挙げることができる。さらに、上記成形品の用途として海水と接触する製品を挙げることもできる。海水と接触する製品としては、釣り糸、漁網を含む漁具のような、水産業に用いられる製品を挙げることができる。本開示の生分解性樹脂組成物を用いて得た成形品を海水と接触する製品に用いた場合には、その使用時にはすぐに分解することはない。一方で、不測の事態により海洋中に逸失した場合には、その良好な海洋生分解性に起因して海洋中で分解されることにより、近年問題となっている海洋中での成形品の残存が起こりにくくなる。
より具体的には、生分解性樹脂としてポリ乳酸を用い、これにアガロースを添加した樹脂組成物の成形品では、25重量%以上低下し、カゼインを用いた場合には29重量%以上低下する態様が挙げられる。
また、生分解性樹脂としてポリブチレンサクシネートアジペートを用い、これにアガロースを添加した樹脂組成物の成形品では、31重量%以上低下し、カゼインを用いた場合には90重量%以上低下する。
以上の理由から、本開示の生分解性樹脂組成物の成形品は、偶発的に海洋中に流出する可能性のある製品(例えば、上記の汎用品)や、意図的に海水に接触させる製品(例えば、上記水産業に用いられる製品)への使用に適している。
生分解性樹脂組成物の調製の際に、上記の所定の成分を使用すれば、海洋生分解性の高い成形品を得るために樹脂組成物を提供できる。
なお、この際の生分解性樹脂組成物の種類及びその樹脂組成物への添加量、アガロース、アルギン酸ナトリウム、カゼイン及びケラチンからなる群から選択される1種以上の樹脂組成物への添加量については、上記の「生分解性樹脂組成物」の項で説明した含有量と同じ条件を適用できる。これらの条件のうち、生分解性樹脂として、ポリ乳酸またはポリブチレンサクシネートアジペートを用いることが好ましい。
上記で説明したように、アガロース、アルギン酸ナトリウム、カゼイン及びケラチンからなる群から選択される1種以上の成分を、海洋生分解性についてそれほど高くないと認識されていた生分解性樹を含む樹脂組成物に添加することで、その樹脂組成物の成形品の海洋生分解性を明らかに高めることができる。
なお、この際の生分解性樹脂組成物の種類及びその樹脂組成物への添加量、アガロース、アルギン酸ナトリウム、カゼイン及びケラチンからなる群から選択される1種以上の樹脂組成物への添加量については、上記の「生分解性樹脂組成物」の項で説明した含有量と同じ条件を適用できる。これらの条件のうち、生分解性樹脂として、ポリ乳酸またはポリブチレンサクシネートアジペートを用いることが好ましい。
また、上記方法を使用して得た樹脂組成物の成形法やその成形品の用途については、上記の<成形品>の項で説明した内容を適用できる。
ポリ乳酸(Ingeopolymer 2003D:Natureworks社)90質量部と、アガロース(製品コードA9639 シグマアルドリッチ社)10質量部を、ラボミキサーを用いて180℃の条件下で6分間混練して、樹脂組成物を得た。
実施例1におけるアガロースをアルギン酸ナトリウム(キミカアルギン:キミカ社)、カゼイン(関東化学社)、ケラチン(試薬:東京化成工業社)にそれぞれ変更した以外は同様に樹脂組成物を得た。
ポリブチレンサクシネートアジペート(FD92PM:三菱ケミカル社)90質量部と、アガロース(試薬:シグマアルドリッチ社)10質量部を、ラボミキサーを用いて140℃の条件下で6分間混練して、樹脂組成物を得た。
実施例5におけるアガロースをアルギン酸ナトリウム(キミカアルギン:キミカ社)、カゼイン(試薬:関東化学社)、ケラチン(試薬:東京化成工業社)にそれぞれ変更した以外は同様に樹脂組成物を得た。
ポリ乳酸(Ingeopolymer 2003D:Natureworks社)、ポリブチレンサクシネートアジペート(FD92PM:三菱ケミカル社)100重量部を、ラボミキサーを用いてそれぞれ180℃、140℃の条件下で6分間混練して樹脂組成物を得た。
ポリ乳酸(Ingeopolymer 2003D:Natureworks社)90質量部と、セルロース(試薬:富士フィルム和光純薬社)10質量部を、ラボミキサーを用いて180℃の条件下で6分間混練して、樹脂組成物を得た。
比較例4におけるセルロースをキチン(製品コード034-13632 富士フィルム和光純薬社)、アルギン酸カルシウム(製品コード:A0738 東京化成工業社)にそれぞれ変更した以外は同様に樹脂組成物を得た。
ポリブチレンサクシネートアジペート(FD92PM(製品名)三菱ケミカル社)90質量部と、セルロース(試薬:富士フィルム和光純薬社)10質量部を、ラボミキサーを用いて140℃の条件下で6分間混練して、樹脂組成物を得た。
比較例7におけるセルロースをキチン(製品コード034-13632 富士フィルム和光純薬社)、アルギン酸カルシウム(製品コード:A0738 東京化成工業社)にそれぞれ変更した以外は同様に樹脂組成物を得た。
溶融混練した上記樹脂組成物を、軟化点以上の温度で平板プレスし、厚み約300μmのシートを作製し、該シートから20mm四方のシートを作製した。それぞれのシートをエタノールを用いて洗浄、真空乾燥してから秤量し、金網に包んでから海水の入った水槽に浸漬した。3カ月経過後、金網を引き揚げてシートを試験前と同様に洗浄、乾燥してから秤量し、重量減少速度を求めた。それぞれの生分解性樹脂に海洋生分解性を促進する成分を添加しなかった樹脂組成物の成形品(シート)の重量減少速度を1.0として、速度比を計算した。結果を表1に示す。また、表1の括弧内の数値は、1日、1平方センチメートル当たりの重量減少量(μg)を示す(単位はμg/cm2/day)。表中の数値がマイナスのものは、成形品が分解せず、逆に重量が増加したことを示す。
この結果から、海洋生分解性を促進する特定の成分を樹脂組成物が含有することで、その成形品における生分解性樹脂に海水中の微生物が大量に集積し、生分解性が向上したことが示唆される。
Claims (11)
- 生分解性樹脂と、
アガロース、アルギン酸ナトリウム、カゼイン及びケラチンからなる群から選択される1種以上の成分と、を含み、
前記生分解性樹脂の含有量が50重量%以上である、生分解性樹脂組成物。 - 生分解性樹脂が、ポリ乳酸またはポリブチレンサクシネートアジペートである、請求項1に記載の生分解性樹脂組成物。
- 前記成分が、アガロースまたはカゼインである、請求項1または2に記載の生分解性樹脂組成物。
- 請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の生分解樹脂組成物が硬化してなる成形品。
- 海水と接触する製品用である、請求項4に記載の成形品。
- 請求項5に記載の成形品の、海水と接触する製品への使用。
- アガロース、アルギン酸ナトリウム、カゼイン及びケラチンからなる群から選択される1種以上の成分と、生分解性樹脂とを混合し、生分解性樹脂の含有量を50重量%以上にする工程を含む、生分解性樹脂組成物の製造方法。
- 生分解性樹脂を50重量以上含む生分解性樹脂組成物の調製のための、アガロース、アルギン酸ナトリウム、カゼイン及びケラチンからなる群から選択される1種以上の成分の使用。
- 生分解性樹脂が、ポリ乳酸またはポリブチレンサクシネートアジペートである、請求項8に記載の使用。
- アガロース、アルギン酸ナトリウム、カゼイン及びケラチンからなる群から選択される1種以上の成分を、生分解性樹脂と混合して、得られる樹脂組成物の硬化物の海洋生分解性を向上させる方法。
- 生分解性樹脂が、ポリ乳酸またはポリブチレンサクシネートアジペートである、請求項10に記載の方法。
