流体動圧軸受は、円筒状のスリーブと円柱状の軸とを具備し、スリーブと軸の少なくとも一方に設けられた動圧発生部により動圧を発生する(例えば特開2015-215054号公報参照)。
動圧発生部の耐久性を向上させるため、動圧発生部を樹脂で形成した動圧軸受装置が開発されている(例えば特開2006-220279号公報参照)。

空気を用いた流体動圧軸受は、軸とスリーブの間に生じる空気の圧力で軸をスリーブに対して非接触で支持する。このため、軸とスリーブとの間の隙間の寸法管理が重要である。
軸とスリーブの熱膨張及び熱収縮による隙間の寸法の変動を抑えるため、軸の線膨張係数とスリーブの線膨張係数がほぼ等しい必要がある。このため、軸とスリーブの両方を金属材料により形成したり、軸とスリーブの両方を樹脂材により形成したりすることが考えられる。しかし、この場合においてもそれぞれ以下のような問題がある。
軸とスリーブの両方を金属材料により形成した場合、これらの表面に潤滑コーティング剤を塗布する必要がある。しかし、潤滑コーティング剤の熱膨張や熱収縮の影響を抑えるため、潤滑コーティング剤の膜厚を100μm以下とする必要がある。したがって、製造の難易度が高い。
一方、軸とスリーブの両方を樹脂材により形成した場合、樹脂材の線膨張係数が等方性の材料である場合、十分な強度を得ることが難しい。また、樹脂材にフィラーなどを混合した異方性材料である場合、必要な強度は得ることができるが、フィラーの方向により線膨張係数が異なり、熱膨張による変形が不均一となり、隙間の寸法を管理することが困難となる。
そこで、軸を金属材料、スリーブを樹脂材で構成することも考えられるが、この場合も熱膨張による金属材料と樹脂材の変形が不均一となり、隙間の寸法を管理することが困難であった。
本実施形態は、軸とスリーブとの間の隙間の寸法を温度に対して一定に保持することが可能な流体動圧軸受を提供する。
本実施形態の流体動圧軸受は、第1金属材料により形成された円筒状の第1スリーブと、前記第1スリーブの内側に圧入された樹脂材により形成された円筒状の第2スリーブと、前記第2スリーブ内に挿入され、第2金属材料により形成された軸と、を具備し、前記第1金属材料の線膨張係数は、前記第2金属材料の線膨張係数より大きい。
以下、実施の形態について、図面を参照して説明する。図面において、同一部分には、同一符号を付している。
図1、図2は、本実施形態に係る流体動圧軸受が適用されるポリゴンスキャナ10を示している。ポリゴンスキャナ10は、ポリゴンミラー11と、ポリゴンミラー11を回転させるモータ12と、流体動圧軸受13とを具備している。流体動圧軸受13は、具体的には、空気を用いた空気動圧軸受である。流体動圧軸受13は、円筒状の第1スリーブ14及び第2スリーブ15と、円柱状の軸16を含んでいる。
第1スリーブ14は、スリーブ組立体17と共に一体的に形成されており、スリーブ組立体17は、印刷基板18の裏面に固定される。すなわち、印刷基板18は、開口部18aを有し、第1スリーブ14は、開口部17aを通り印刷基板18の表面側に配置される。
第1スリーブ14及びスリーブ組立体17は、第1金属材料、例えばステンレススチール(SUS)、アルミニウム合金、銅合金の内の1つにより形成される。アルミニウム合金は、例えば、銅、マンガン、ケイ素、ニッケル、マグネシウム、亜鉛、鉄、クロム、及びチタンから選択された少なくとも1つの材料とアルミニウムとの合金である。銅合金は、例えば黄銅である。
金属製の第1スリーブ14の内面には、樹脂材からなる円筒状の第2スリーブ15が圧入されている。第2スリーブ15は、例えば射出成型により形成される。第2スリーブ15の内面、すなわち、軸16と対向する面には、動圧を発生するための複数の溝15aが形成されている。複数の溝15aの形状は、例えばほぼ螺旋状であるが、螺旋状に限定されるものではなく、へリングボーン形状などであってもよい。
第2スリーブ15を形成する樹脂材は、例えばエポキシ(EP)、フェノール(PF)、フッソジュシ(PTFE)、エキショウポリマー(LCP)、ポリイミド(PI)、ポリエーテルエーテルケトン(PEEK)、ポリエーテルイミド(PEI)、ポリベンゾイミダゾール(PBI)、ポリアミドイミド(PAI)、ポリアリレート、ポリフェニレンサルファイド(PPS)、ポリエーテルサルフォン(PES)、ポリサルフォン(PS)、超高分子ポリエチレン、ポリビチレンテレフタレート(PBT)、変性ポリフェニレンエーテル、ポリアミド(PA)、ポリアセタール(POM)、及びポリカーボネート(PC)の内の1つである。
第2スリーブ15としての樹脂材は、好ましくは、ポリエーテルエーテルケトン(PEEK)である。また、樹脂材は、例えば炭素繊維などの強化充填材(フィラー)を含んでいてもよい。
以下、金属製の第1スリーブ14と樹脂製の第2スリーブ15からなる2層構造のスリーブを単にスリーブ30とも言う。
軸16は、軸方向の中央部がスリーブ30、具体的には、第2スリーブ15内に挿入される。軸16の軸方向の第1端部は、磁気軸受19によりスリーブ組立体17に保持される。
軸16は、第2金属材料、例えばステンレススチール(SUS)、アルミニウム合金、銅合金の内の1つにより形成される。アルミニウム合金は、例えば銅、マンガン、ケイ素、ニッケル、マグネシウム、亜鉛、鉄、クロム、及びチタンから選択された少なくとも1つの材料とアルミニウムとの合金である。銅合金は、例えば黄銅である。
磁気軸受19は、同心状に配置された2つのリング状の永久磁石19a、19b含んでいる。外側の永久磁石19aは、スリーブ組立体17に固定され、内側の永久磁石19bは、軸16の第1端部に固定されている。磁気軸受19は、スラスト軸受けであり、軸16の軸方向の位置を保持する。
モータ12は、ロータ20と、永久磁石21と、ステータとしてのコイル22と、ケース23、及びバックヨーク24とを具備している。ロータ20は、軸16の第2端部に取り付けられ、永久磁石21は、ケース23の内面に取り付けられる。ケース23は、ロータ20の外側に固定され、バックヨーク24は、ロータ20の内側に固定される。コイル22は、永久磁石21とバックヨーク24との間に配置され、印刷基板18に固定される。
ポリゴンミラー11は、ロータ20に装着され、ロータ20と共に回転する。ポリゴンミラー11は、ロータ20に例えば圧入された押え部材25によりロータ20に固定される。円板26は、ねじ27により軸16に固定され、押え部材25は、円板26により、抜け止めされる。
(流体動圧軸受)
流体動圧軸受13について、さらに説明する。
本実施形態の流体動圧軸受13において、スリーブ30は、金属製の第1スリーブ14の内側に樹脂製の第2スリーブ15が圧入された2層構造とされている。第1スリーブ14は、第2スリーブ15より剛性の高い第1金属材料により構成されている。軸16は、第2金属材料により形成されている。
流体動圧軸受13について、さらに説明する。
本実施形態の流体動圧軸受13において、スリーブ30は、金属製の第1スリーブ14の内側に樹脂製の第2スリーブ15が圧入された2層構造とされている。第1スリーブ14は、第2スリーブ15より剛性の高い第1金属材料により構成されている。軸16は、第2金属材料により形成されている。
図3は、常温時T0における第1スリーブ14、第2スリーブ15、及び軸16の寸法と、高温時T1における第1スリーブ14、第2スリーブ15、及び軸16の熱膨張による寸法の変化を模式的に示している。
G0は、常温時T0における軸16と第2スリーブ15との間の隙間の寸法であり、G1は、高温時T1における軸16と第2スリーブ15との間の隙間の寸法である。
L16は、温度変化に伴う軸16の線膨張により生じた寸法を示し、L15は、温度変化に伴う第2スリーブ15の線膨張と弾性変形により生じた寸法を示し、L14は、温度変化に伴う第1スリーブ14の線膨張と弾性変形により生じた寸法を示している。
本実施形態は、金属製の軸16の線膨張係数(線膨張率)より大きい線膨張係数を有する金属製の第1スリーブ14により、第1スリーブ14よりさらに大きな線膨張係数を有する樹脂製の第2スリーブ15の変形を吸収する。これにより、軸16と第2スリーブ15との間の隙間の変化をほぼ一定(G0≒G1)に保持することができる。したがって、温度変化に伴う樹脂製の第2スリーブ15の線膨張率の異方性が10×10-6(/℃)以下、好ましくは、3×10-6(/℃)であれば、熱膨張の影響をほぼ抑えることが可能である。
ここで、線膨張率の異方性とは、樹脂材に含まれるフィラーの種類や成型時における溶融樹脂の流動配向により線膨張率が方向により異なることである。線膨張率の異方性が3×10-6(/℃)とは、具体的には、樹脂材の線膨張係数が方向によって、例えば40×10-6(/℃)から43×10-6(/℃)の間に収まっていることである。本実施形態において、第2スリーブ15の内径の変化の目標値は、後述するように、0,5μm以下であるが、第2スリーブ15の想定実寸法(例えば直径9mm、温度100℃)での線膨張率の異方性により0,2μm程度の誤差が生じることを意味する。
熱膨張による第2スリーブ15の内径の寸法変化は、次のように求められる。
(温度変化による第1スリーブ14側からの力による変形)
温度が上昇すると、第2スリーブ15と第1スリーブ14は、それぞれ熱膨張する。樹脂材からなる第2スリーブ15と第1金属材料からなる第1スリーブ14の線膨張係数(線膨張率)の関係は、次式で示される。

このため、熱膨張により、第1スリーブ14によって第2スリーブ15を締め付ける力が強くなる。この力により、第2スリーブ15の内径寸法が小さくなる。
(温度変化による第1スリーブ14側からの力による変形)
温度が上昇すると、第2スリーブ15と第1スリーブ14は、それぞれ熱膨張する。樹脂材からなる第2スリーブ15と第1金属材料からなる第1スリーブ14の線膨張係数(線膨張率)の関係は、次式で示される。

このため、熱膨張により、第1スリーブ14によって第2スリーブ15を締め付ける力が強くなる。この力により、第2スリーブ15の内径寸法が小さくなる。
第2スリーブ15が第1スリーブ14に圧入されていない状態における第2スリーブ15と第1スリーブ14の熱膨張時の寸法は、次式で示される。

熱膨張した第2スリーブ15を第1スリーブ14内に圧入する際、第1スリーブ14により第2スリーブ15が圧縮される。この圧縮された部分の寸法(圧入マージン)δは、次式(1)で示される。

第2スリーブ15が外周面から受ける圧力が変動した時、第2スリーブ15の内面の半径の変化量uは、次式(3)で示される。
第2スリーブ15の樹脂材の厚みは、熱膨張により増大する。これにより第2スリーブ15の内径寸法が小さくなる。第2スリーブ15の厚みは、次式(4)で示される。

第2スリーブ15の樹脂材の径方向の寸法は、熱膨張により増大する。これにより第2スリーブ15の内径寸法が大きくなる。第2スリーブ15の径方向の寸法は、次式(5)で示される。

軸16の外形寸法は、熱膨張により増大する。軸16の外形寸法が第2スリーブ15の内径r1とほぼ等しいと仮定すると、熱膨張により増大する軸16の外形寸法は、次式(6)で示される。

軸16と第2スリーブ15との間の隙間の寸法の熱膨張による変動は、上式(1)~(6)より、次式(7)の左辺で示される。
式(7)の左辺で示される隙間の変動が、右辺で示される許容寸法、例えば0.5μm以内となるように各部の寸法、及び材料が選定される。
具体的には、第1スリーブ14としての第1金属材料は、軸16の第2金属材料より線膨張係数が大きい材料が選択される。より具体的には、第1スリーブ14として例えばSUS303(線膨張係数:16.4×10-6/℃)を使用する場合、軸16として例えば黄銅(線膨張係数:18.7×10-6/℃)が使用される。第2スリーブ15は、PEEK(線膨張係数:4×10-5/℃)が使用される。
(実施形態の効果)
上記実施形態の流体動圧軸受13によれば、円筒形のスリーブ30を第1スリーブ14と、第1スリーブ14の内側に圧入される第2スリーブ15との2層構造とし、第1スリーブ14は、第1金属材料により構成し、第2スリーブ15は、樹脂材により構成し、第2スリーブ15内に第2金属材料により構成された軸16が挿入されている。さらに、第1スリーブ14を構成する第1金属材料の線膨張係数は、軸16を構成する第2金属材料の線膨張係数より大きい。このため、温度上昇により、第1スリーブ14より大きい線膨張係数を有する第2スリーブ15としての樹脂材が膨張した場合、第2スリーブ15の寸法の増加分を第1スリーブ14の寸法の増加分により相殺することができる。したがって、温度変化に伴う樹脂製の第2スリーブ15の線膨張率の異方性が10×10-6(/℃)以下、好ましくは、3×10-6(/℃)であれば、軸16と第2スリーブ15との間の隙間の寸法の変化を抑えることが可能であり、流体動圧軸受の性能を向上させることが可能である。
上記実施形態の流体動圧軸受13によれば、円筒形のスリーブ30を第1スリーブ14と、第1スリーブ14の内側に圧入される第2スリーブ15との2層構造とし、第1スリーブ14は、第1金属材料により構成し、第2スリーブ15は、樹脂材により構成し、第2スリーブ15内に第2金属材料により構成された軸16が挿入されている。さらに、第1スリーブ14を構成する第1金属材料の線膨張係数は、軸16を構成する第2金属材料の線膨張係数より大きい。このため、温度上昇により、第1スリーブ14より大きい線膨張係数を有する第2スリーブ15としての樹脂材が膨張した場合、第2スリーブ15の寸法の増加分を第1スリーブ14の寸法の増加分により相殺することができる。したがって、温度変化に伴う樹脂製の第2スリーブ15の線膨張率の異方性が10×10-6(/℃)以下、好ましくは、3×10-6(/℃)であれば、軸16と第2スリーブ15との間の隙間の寸法の変化を抑えることが可能であり、流体動圧軸受の性能を向上させることが可能である。
本実施形態に係る流体動圧軸受13は、ポリゴンスキャナに適用した場合を示しているが、これに限定されるものではなく、他の装置に適用することも可能である。
その他、本発明は上記各実施形態そのままに限定されるものではなく、実施段階ではその要旨を逸脱しない範囲で構成要素を変形して具体化できる。また、上記各実施形態に開示されている複数の構成要素の適宜な組み合わせにより、種々の発明を形成できる。例えば、実施形態に示される全構成要素から幾つかの構成要素を削除してもよい。さらに、異なる実施形態にわたる構成要素を適宜組み合わせてもよい。
Claims (8)
- 第1金属材料により形成された円筒状の第1スリーブと、
前記第1スリーブの内側に圧入された樹脂材により形成された円筒状の第2スリーブと、
前記第2スリーブ内に挿入され、第2金属材料により形成された軸と、
を具備し、
前記第1金属材料の線膨張係数は、前記第2金属材料の線膨張係数より大きいことを特徴とする流体動圧軸受。 - 前記樹脂材の線膨張係数は、前記第1金属材料の線膨張係数より大きいことを特徴とする請求項1記載の流体動圧軸受。
- 熱膨張した前記第2スリーブを前記第1スリーブ内に圧入する際、前記第1スリーブにより前記第2スリーブが圧縮された部分の寸法δが次式で示されることを特徴とする請求項4記載の流体動圧軸受。

- 前記樹脂材は、エポキシ(EP)、フェノール(PF)、フッソジュシ(PTFE)、エキショウポリマー(LCP)、ポリイミド(PI)、ポリエーテルイミド(PEI)、ポリベンゾイミダゾール(PBI)、ポリアミドイミド(PAI)、ポリアリレート、ポリフェニレンサルファイド(PPS)、ポリエーテルサルフォン(PES)、ポリサルフォン(PS)、超高分子ポリエチレン、ポリビチレンテレフタレート(PBT)、変性ポリフェニレンエーテル、ポリアミド(PA)、ポリアセタール(POM)、ポリカーボネート(PC)の内の1つであることを特徴とする請求項2記載の流体動圧軸受。
- 前記樹脂材の線膨張率の異方性が、10×10-6(/℃)以下であることを特徴とする請求項2記載の流体動圧軸受。
