Abstract

カラーフィルタ用の緑色顔料として用いられ、優れた輝度を発現させることができる、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料及びその製造方法を提供すること。 ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料であって、当該顔料1.00質量部と、ベンジルメタクリレート-メタクリル酸共重合体0.95質量部と、ジメチルアミノエチルメタクリレート共重合体0.30質量部とを含む塗膜を230℃で1時間加熱して厚さ4μmの評価用塗膜を形成し、当該評価用塗膜のGI-WAXS測定により得られる二次元散乱像から、散乱角2θが17°~21°の範囲の平均散乱強度を求め、方位角45°の平均散乱強度を1とする規格化平均散乱強度を求めたとき、方位角5°~89°における規格化平均散乱強度が0.70~1.15である、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料。

Description

ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料及びその製造方法
 本発明は、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料及びその製造方法に関する。
 現在、着色組成物は様々な分野に用いられており、着色組成物の具体的な用途としては、印刷インキ、塗料、樹脂用着色剤、繊維用着色剤、IT情報記録用色材(カラーフィルタ、トナー、インクジェット)などが挙げられる。着色組成物に用いられる色素は、主に顔料と染料とに大別されるが、着色力の点において優勢とされている有機顔料に注目が集まっている。
 有機顔料を構成する有機化合物は、合成後には微粒子同士が凝集し、クルードと呼ばれる凝集体の状態で存在する。そのため、通常、合成後の有機化合物をそのまま顔料として用いることはできず、粒子サイズを調整するための顔料化工程が行われる。顔料化工程で顔料化される上記有機化合物の凝集体(クルード)は粗顔料と呼ばれ、当該粗顔料を混練等により磨砕することで、微細な有機顔料を得ることができる。
 有機顔料としては、カラーフィルタの緑色画素部等に用いられるハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料が注目されている(例えば特許文献1参照)。

 本発明は、カラーフィルタ用の緑色顔料として用いられ、優れた輝度を発現させることができる、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料及びその製造方法を提供することを目的とする。
 カラーフィルタの特性値である輝度の向上には、一次粒子径の小さな顔料(微細な顔料)を用いることが特に有効であると考えられてきた。したがって、カラーフィルタの更なる高輝度化を可能とする顔料の開発は、顔料化工程において、粗顔料をいかにより微細な顔料へと加工するかという観点で進められてきた。
 しかしながら、顔料の微細化には限界があることから、本発明者らは、微細化以外の方法で高輝度化を達成すべく検討を行った。この検討過程において、本発明者らは、顔料化前のハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン(粗顔料)についての高度な分析により、粗顔料を使用したカラーフィルタが、塗膜に水平な方向に強い配向性を有することを見出した。そこで、本発明者らは、ニーダー等の混練機を用いる従来の顔料化方法よりも上記配向性を緩和できる方法で顔料化を行うことを着想し、更なる検討を行い、本発明を完成させた。
 本発明の一側面は、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料に関する。このハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料1.00質量部と、ベンジルメタクリレート-メタクリル酸共重合体0.95質量部と、ジメチルアミノエチルメタクリレート共重合体0.30質量部とを含む塗膜を230℃で1時間加熱して厚さ4μmの評価用塗膜を形成し、当該評価用塗膜のGI-WAXS測定により得られる二次元散乱像から、散乱角2θが17°~21°の範囲の平均散乱強度を求め、方位角45°の平均散乱強度を1とする規格化平均散乱強度を求めたとき、方位角5°~89°における規格化平均散乱強度が0.70~1.15である。
 上記側面のハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料によれば、緑色カラーフィルタの輝度を向上させることができる。
 一態様において、顔料の平均一次粒子径は好ましくは30nm以下である。
 本発明によれば、カラーフィルタ用の緑色顔料として用いられ、優れた輝度を発現させることができる、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料及びその製造方法を提供することができる。

 以下、本発明の好適な実施形態について説明する。ただし、本発明は下記実施形態に何ら限定されるものではない。
<ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料>
 一実施形態のハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料は、1種又はハロゲン原子数の異なる複数種のハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンを含有する、一又は複数の粒子で構成される。ここで、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンは、下記式(1)で表される構造を有する化合物である。

[式(1)中、X~X16は、各々独立に、水素原子又はハロゲン原子を表す。]
 ハロゲン原子としては、フッ素原子、塩素原子、臭素原子及びヨウ素原子が挙げられる。ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンは、ハロゲン原子として、臭素原子及び塩素原子の少なくとも一方を有することが好ましく、臭素原子を有することが好ましい。ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンは、ハロゲン原子として、塩素原子及び臭素原子の一方又は両方のみを有していてもよい。すなわち、上記式(1)中のX~X16は、塩素原子又は臭素原子であってよい。
 一態様において、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料における、式(1)で表される化合物1分子中の臭素原子の数の平均は、13個未満である。臭素原子の数の平均は、12個以下又は11個以下であってよい。臭素原子の数の平均は、0.1個以上、6個以上又は8個以上であってよい。上述の上限値及び下限値は、任意に組み合わせることができる。例えば、臭素原子の数の平均は、0.1個以上13個未満、8~12個又は8~11個であってよい。なお、以下の同様の記載においても、個別に記載した上限値及び下限値は任意に組み合わせ可能である。
 臭素原子の数の平均が13個未満である場合、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料における、式(1)で表される化合物1分子中のハロゲン原子の数の平均は、14個以下、13個以下、13個未満又は12個以下であってよい。ハロゲン原子の数の平均は、0.1個以上であり、8個以上又は10個以上であってもよい。
 臭素原子の数の平均が13個未満である場合、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料における、式(1)で表される化合物1分子中の塩素原子の数の平均は、5個以下、3個以下、2.5個以下又は2個未満であってよい。塩素原子の数の平均は、0.1個以上、0.3個以上、0.6個以上、0.8個以上、1個以上、1.3個以上又は2個以上であってよい。
 他の一態様において、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料における、式(1)で表される化合物1分子中の臭素原子の数の平均は、13個以上である。臭素原子の数の平均は、14個以上であってよい。臭素原子の数の平均は、15個以下であってよい。
 臭素原子の数の平均が13個以上である場合、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料における、式(1)で表される化合物1分子中のハロゲン原子の数の平均は、13個以上、14個以上又は15個以上であってよい。ハロゲン原子の数の平均は、16個以下であり、15個以下であってもよい。
 臭素原子の数の平均が13個以上である場合、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料における、式(1)で表される化合物1分子中の塩素原子の数の平均は、0.1個以上又は1個以上であってよい。塩素原子の数の平均は、3個以下又は2個未満であってよい。
 上記ハロゲン原子の数(例えば、臭素原子の数及び塩素原子の数)は、例えば、マトリックス支援レーザー脱離イオン化飛行時間質量分析計(日本電子株式会社製のJMS-S3000等)を用いたハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料の質量分析により特定することができる。具体的には、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料における、亜鉛原子と各ハロゲン原子の質量比から、亜鉛原子1個あたりの相対値として、各ハロゲン原子の数を算出することができる。
 一態様において、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料は、0.70~1.15の配向性パラメータ(A)を有する。ここで、配向性パラメータ(A)は、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料1.00質量部と樹脂1.25質量部とを用いて形成される厚さ4μmの評価用塗膜のGI-WAXS(Grazing-Incidence Wide-Angle X-ray Scattering、斜入射広角X線散乱)測定により導出されるパラメータである。
 GI-WAXS測定とは、入射X線を試料面(評価用塗膜の表面)に対して0.1°程度の微小な角度で入射して生じるX線散乱を測定する方法である。GI-WAXS測定では、X線を試料面に照射して散乱するX線のうち、散乱角が大きいものを測定することにより試料の構造情報を得ることができる。具体的には、試料からのX線散乱光を二次元検出器で露光することで、二次元X線散乱像(散乱プロファイル)として、X線のビーム中心を中心とした散乱強度の円環プロファイル(方位角強度分布)を得ることができ、得られた二次元X線散乱像を分析することにより、試料の構造情報を得ることができる。GI-WAXS測定は、結晶構造解析等に用いられる他に、試料の配向度の情報の取得にも用いられる。
 一般的に、試料がランダムな配向を有する場合、試料からのX線散乱は二次元検出器面において均一な円環上の散乱を示す。それに対して、試料が水平な配向を有する場合は二次元検出器面で垂直方向に、試料が垂直な配向を有する場合は二次元検出器面で水平方向に、X線の散乱が強くなることが知られている。したがって、二次元検出器において得られる二次元X線散乱像(X線のビーム中心を中心とした散乱強度の円環プロファイル)を解析することにより、試料の配向性を調べることができる。配向性パラメータ(A)は、この方法で解析された試料の配向性の強さを定量的に表すものである。
 配向性パラメータ(A)は、具体的には、以下のようにして求められる。まず、GI-WAXS測定で得られた二次元散乱像から、方位角5°~89°の範囲で、散乱角2θが17°~21°の範囲の平均散乱強度を求める。ここで、方位角とは、検出器の水平面を0°とする角度である。次いで、方位角5°~89°の各平均散乱強度を、方位角45°の平均散乱強度で除することで、方位角45°の値が1となるように規格化する。このようにして得られた、方位角5°~89°における規格化された平均散乱強度(規格化平均散乱強度)を配向性パラメータ(A)とする。
 規格化平均散乱強度は、配向の強さを示すものであることから、配向性パラメータ(A)が0.70~1.15であることは、配向の強度(方位角5°~89°における規格化平均散乱強度の最小値及び最大値)が一定の範囲内に収まっていることを意味する。
 GI-WAXS測定に用いる評価用塗膜は、具体的には、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料1.00質量部と樹脂1.25質量部と有機溶媒とを含む評価用組成物の塗膜をガラス基板上に形成し、得られた塗膜を乾燥して有機溶媒を除去し、さらに230℃で1時間加熱することで得ることができる。ここで、樹脂は、ベンジルメタクリレートとメタクリル酸との共重合体(ベンジルメタクリレート-メタクリル酸共重合体) 0.95質量部及びジメチルアミノエチルメタクリレートを重合単位に含む共重合体(ジメチルアミノエチルメタクリレート共重合体) 0.30質量部を含む。
 ベンジルメタクリレート-メタクリル酸共重合体は、例えば、DIC株式会社製のユニディックZL-295(固形分40質量%の溶液)として提供される。ベンジルメタクリレート-メタクリル酸共重合体の重量平均分子量Mwは、例えば、12000~16000である。
 ジメチルアミノエチルメタクリレート共重合体は、例えば、ビックケミー社製のBYK-LPN6919(固形分60質量%の溶液)として提供される。ジメチルアミノエチルメタクリレート共重合体の重量平均分子量Mwは、例えば、7000~11000である。
 ジメチルアミノエチルメタクリレート共重合体は、例えば、ピグメントグリーン58(例えば、DIC株式会社製FASTOGEN Green A110) 30gと、上記ベンジルメタクリレート-メタクリル酸共重合体の固形分40質量%の樹脂溶液(例えば、DIC株式会社製のZL-295) 22.5gと、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテルアセテート 132.5gと、ジメチルアミノエチルメタクリレート共重合体の固形分60質量%の樹脂溶液 15gとを、0.3~0.4mmのジルコンビーズ 460gを用いて、ペイントシェーカーで2時間分散して顔料分散体を作製したときに、25℃における粘度が10mPa・s以下となる顔料分散体を与える共重合体である。なお、上記粘度は、JIS Z8803に準じて円すい-平板形回転粘度計(コーンプレート粘度計)(例えば東機産業株式会社のRE550L)によって測定される粘度である。
 有機溶媒としては、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンを溶解せず、上記樹脂を溶解し得る有機溶剤が好ましく、具体的には、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテルアセテートが好ましい。
 評価用組成物は、例えば、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料 0.992質量部を、ベンジルメタクリレート-メタクリル酸共重合体の固形分40質量%の樹脂溶液 0.744質量部と、ジメチルアミノエチルメタクリレート共重合体の固形分60質量%の樹脂溶液 0.496質量部と、有機溶媒 4.368質量部と共に、0.3~0.4mmのジルコンビーズを15.2質量部用いて、ペイントシェーカー(例えば東洋精機株式会社製のペイントシェーカー)で2時間分散して顔料分散体を得た後、得られた顔料分散体 3.000質量部と、ベンジルメタクリレート-メタクリル酸共重合体の固形分40質量%の樹脂溶液 0.735質量部と、有機溶媒 0.165質量部とを、ペイントシェーカー(例えば東洋精機株式会社製のペイントシェーカー)を用いて混合することで調製してよい。
 評価用組成物の塗膜の形成は、例えば、スピンコートにより行うことができる。スピンコートの条件(回転速度及び評価用組成物の使用量)は、最終的に得られる塗膜の厚さが4μmとなるように調整すればよい。評価用組成物の塗膜の形成に用いるガラス基板としては、ホウケイ酸ガラスをはじめとする透明度の高い材料を使って作られた、いわゆる白ガラスが好ましい。このようなガラス基板としては、Corning(登録商標) EAGLE XGなどを使用することができる。
 乾燥条件は、例えば、70~100℃で1~10分間である。
 GI-WAXS測定は、試料の中心(評価用塗膜の表面の中心)から検出器までの距離が102.5mmとなるように、基板上に平滑に作製された試料(評価用塗膜)を有する試料付き基板をGI-WAXS測定装置(斜入射X線散乱装置)の試料台に配置し、X線波長を0.1nmとし、X線入射角を0.06°とする条件で行うことができる。
 GI-WAXS測定により評価用塗膜の散乱プロファイルを正確に求めるためには、より多くの(具体的には1016(photons/sec/mm/mrad/0.1%bandwidth)以上の)X線散乱を測定することが必要である。このため、GI-WAXS測定には、短時間でより多くの散乱を測定できる高輝度X線源を用いることが望ましい。高輝度X線源を得るためには、大型放射光施設、たとえば兵庫県のSPring-8や茨城県のPhotonFactory等の光源を用いることができる。
 放射光施設におけるGI-WAXS測定装置では、蓄積リングと呼ばれる円形加速器から取り出した白色光を二結晶分光器で単色化し、X線領域の波長(例えば1Å)を線源とし、試料台に設置した試料付き基板の試料の中心(評価用塗膜の表面の中心)にX線を入射させ、散乱光を二次元検出器で露光する。これにより、二次元X線散乱像を得ることができる。
 上記範囲の配向性パラメータ(A)を有するハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料は、カラーフィルタ用の緑色顔料として用いられた場合に、優れた輝度の発現に寄与する。このような効果が得られる理由は、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料がカラーフィルタ中で配向すると、カラーフィルタを透過する白色光(白色透過光)を散乱させてしまい、結果として、輝度及びコントラストが低下するのに対し、0.70~1.15の配向性パラメータ(A)を有するハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料はカラーフィルタ中で配向し難いことから、当該ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料を用いることで、白色透過光の散乱が抑制されるためであると推察される。上記範囲の配向性パラメータ(A)を有するハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料をカラーフィルタ用の緑色顔料として用いた場合には、優れたコントラストも得られる傾向があるが、これも上記同様の理由によるものと推察される。
 配向性パラメータ(A)は、より優れた輝度及びコントラストが得られやすい観点から、好ましくは0.73~1.14であり、より好ましくは0.75~1.13である。
 他の一態様において、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料は、-0.006~0.006の配向性パラメータ(C)を有する。ここで、配向性パラメータ(C)は、上述した配向性パラメータ(A)と同様に、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料1質量部と樹脂1.25質量部とを用いて形成される厚さ4μmの評価用塗膜のGI-WAXS測定により導出されるパラメータである。測定に用いられる評価用組成物、評価用塗膜の形成方法等、並びに、GI-WAXSの測定方法は、配向性パラメータ(A)と同じである。
 配向性パラメータ(C)は、具体的には、以下のようにして求められる。まず、GI-WAXS測定で得られた二次元散乱像から、方位角45°~55°の範囲で、散乱角2θが17°~21°の範囲の平均散乱強度を求める。次いで、方位角45°~55°の各平均散乱強度を、方位角45°の平均散乱強度で除することで、方位角45°の値が1となるように規格化する。次いで、方位角45°~55°の範囲で、上記で得られた規格化された平均散乱強度(規格化平均散乱強度)を縦軸とする方位角プロファイル(横軸を方位角とするグラフ)を作成し、線形近似を行い、得られた近似直線の傾きを配向性パラメータ(C)とする。
 本発明者らの検討の結果明らかになったことであるが、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料では、方位角45°~55°に強い配向が出る傾向がある。そのため、上記近似直線の傾きが小さいことは、特にハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料において生じやすい顕著な配向強度の上昇が抑えられていることを意味する。
 上記範囲の配向性パラメータ(C)を有するハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料は、カラーフィルタ用の緑色顔料として用いられた場合に、優れた輝度の発現に寄与する。このような効果が得られる理由は、明らかではないが、-0.006~0.006の配向性パラメータ(C)を有するハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料はカラーフィルタ中で配向し難いことから、当該ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料を用いることで、白色透過光の散乱が抑制されるためであると推察される。上記範囲の配向性パラメータ(C)を有するハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料をカラーフィルタ用の緑色顔料として用いた場合には、優れたコントラストも得られる傾向があるが、これも上記と同様の理由によるものと推察される。
 配向性パラメータ(C)は、より優れた輝度及びコントラストが得られやすい観点から、好ましくは-0.0055~0.0055であり、より好ましくは-0.0050~0.0050である。配向性パラメータ(C)の値は、絶対値として小さければ+(プラス)であっても-(マイナス)であっても同様の効果が得られると考えられる。しかし、本発明者らが検討の結果、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料においては+(プラス)の値が出やすい傾向であることが分かった。そのため配向性パラメータ(C)は、更に好ましくは0~0.0055であり、特に好ましくは0.001~0.0050である。
 ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料の平均一次粒子径は、より優れた輝度及びコントラストが得られやすい観点から、好ましくは30nm以下であり、より好ましくは25nm以下である。ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料の平均一次粒子径は、10nm以上であってよい。ここで、平均一次粒子径は、一次粒子の長径の平均値であり、後述する平均アスペクト比の測定と同様にして一次粒子の長径を測定することにより求めることができる。
 ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料の一次粒子の平均アスペクト比は、例えば、1.2以上、1.3以上、1.4以上又は1.5以上である。ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料の一次粒子の平均アスペクト比は、例えば、2.0未満、1.8以下、1.6以下又は1.4以下である。このような平均アスペクト比を有するハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料によれば、より優れたコントラストが得られる。
 一次粒子の平均アスペクト比が1.0~3.0の範囲にあるハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料は、アスペクト比が5以上の一次粒子を含まないことが好ましく、アスペクト比が4以上の一次粒子を含まないことがより好ましく、アスペクト比が3を超える一次粒子を含まないことがさらに好ましい。
 一次粒子のアスペクト比及び平均アスペクト比は、以下の方法で測定することができる。まず、透過型電子顕微鏡(例えば日本電子株式会社製のJEM-2010)で視野内の粒子を撮影する。そして、二次元画像上に存在する一次粒子の長い方の径(長径)と、短い方の径(短径)とを測定し、短径に対する長径の比を一次粒子のアスペクト比とする。また、一次粒子40個につき長径と、短径の平均値を求め、これらの値を用いて短径に対する長径の比を算出し、これを平均アスペクト比とする。この際、試料であるハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料は、これを溶媒(例えばシクロヘキサン)に超音波分散させてから顕微鏡で撮影する。また、透過型電子顕微鏡の代わりに走査型電子顕微鏡を使用してもよい。
 以上説明したハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料は、緑色カラーフィルタの輝度及びコントラストを向上させることができるため、カラーフィルタ用の緑色顔料として好適に用いられる。
<ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料の製造方法>
 一実施形態のハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料の製造方法は、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料を用意する第1の工程と、当該ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料を顔料化する第2の工程(顔料化工程)と、を有する。
 第1の工程では、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料を用意する。ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料は、例えば、合成直後のハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンを析出させて得られたもの(例えばハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンの凝集体)であり、1種又はハロゲン原子数の異なる複数種のハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンを含有する。
 第1の工程は、例えば、クロロスルホン酸法、ハロゲン化フタロニトリル法、溶融法等の公知の製造方法によりハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンを合成する工程と、合成したハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンを析出させてハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料を得る工程とを含む。ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンを合成する工程は、例えば、水と反応して酸を発生する化合物を用いてハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンを合成する工程であってもよい。水と反応して酸を発生する化合物を用いてハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンを合成する方法としては、例えば、クロロスルホン酸法、溶融法等が挙げられる。
 クロロスルホン酸法としては、亜鉛フタロシアニンを、クロロスルホン酸等の硫黄酸化物系の溶媒に溶解し、これに塩素ガス、臭素を仕込みハロゲン化する方法が挙げられる。この際の反応は、例えば、温度20~120℃かつ3~20時間の範囲で行われる。クロロスルホン酸法では、上記クロロスルホン酸等の硫黄酸化物系の溶媒が水と反応して酸を発生する化合物である。例えば、クロロスルホン酸は、水と反応して塩酸と硫酸を発生する。
 ハロゲン化フタロニトリル法としては、例えば、芳香環の水素原子の一部又は全部が臭素の他、塩素等のハロゲン原子で置換されたフタル酸又はフタロジニトリルと、亜鉛の金属又は金属塩を適宜出発原料として使用して、対応するハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンを合成する方法が挙げられる。この場合、必要に応じてモリブデン酸アンモニウム等の触媒を用いてもよい。この際の反応は、例えば、温度100~300℃かつ7~35時間の範囲で行われる。
 溶融法としては、塩化アルミニウム、臭化アルミニウム等のハロゲン化アルミニウム、四塩化チタン等のハロゲン化チタン、塩化ナトリウム、臭化ナトリウム等のアルカリ金属ハロゲン化物又はアルカリ土類金属ハロゲン化物(以下、「アルカリ(土類)金属ハロゲン化物」という)、塩化チオニルなど、各種のハロゲン化の際に溶媒となる化合物の一種又は二種以上の混合物からなる10~170℃程度の溶融物中で、亜鉛フタロシアニンをハロゲン化剤にてハロゲン化する方法が挙げられる。溶融法では、上記ハロゲン化アルミニウム、ハロゲン化チタン、アルカリ(土類)金属ハロゲン化物、塩化チオニル等のハロゲン化の際に溶媒となる化合物が水と反応して酸を発生する化合物である。例えば、塩化アルミニウムは、水と反応して塩酸を発生する。
 好適なハロゲン化アルミニウムは、塩化アルミニウムである。ハロゲン化アルミニウムを用いる上記方法における、ハロゲン化アルミニウムの添加量は、亜鉛フタロシアニンに対して、通常は、3倍モル以上であり、好ましくは10~20倍モルである。
 ハロゲン化アルミニウムは単独で用いてもよいが、アルカリ(土類)金属ハロゲン化物をハロゲン化アルミニウムに併用すると溶融温度をより下げることができ、操作上有利になる。好適なアルカリ(土類)金属ハロゲン化物は、塩化ナトリウムである。加えるアルカリ(土類)金属ハロゲン化物の量は溶融塩を生成する範囲内でハロゲン化アルミニウム10質量部に対してアルカリ(土類)金属ハロゲン化物が1~15質量部が好ましい。
 ハロゲン化剤としては、塩素ガス、塩化スルフリル、臭素等が挙げられる。
 ハロゲン化の温度は10~170℃が好ましく、30~140℃がより好ましい。さらに、反応速度を速くするため、加圧することも可能である。反応時間は、5~100時間であってよく、好ましくは30~45時間である。
 前記化合物の二種以上を併用する溶融法は、溶融塩中の塩化物と臭化物とヨウ化物の比率を調節したり、塩素ガス、臭素、ヨウ素等の導入量及び反応時間を変化させたりすることによって、生成するハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン中における特定ハロゲン原子組成のハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンの含有比率を任意にコントロールすることができるため好ましい。また、溶融法によれば、反応中の原料の分解が少なく原料からの収率がより優れ、強酸を用いず安価な装置にて反応を行うことができる。
 本実施形態では、原料仕込み方法、触媒種及びその使用量、反応温度並びに反応時間の最適化により、既存のハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンとは異なるハロゲン原子組成のハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンを得ることができる。より具体的には、上述したハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料に含まれ得るハロゲン原子組成のハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンを得ることができる。
 上記いずれの方法であっても、反応終了後、得られた混合物を水、塩酸等の酸性水溶液、又は、水酸化ナトリウム水溶液等の塩基性水溶液中に投入し、生成したハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンを沈殿(析出)させる。この際、上記水と反応して酸を発生する化合物を用いた場合は、塩酸、硫酸等の酸が発生するが、塩基性水溶液を用いる場合には、酸の発生が抑制される。これにより、沈殿物中に酸が内包することを抑制することができ、粗顔料中に酸が残留することを抑制することができる。粗顔料が酸を内包すると、顔料化の際に酸による粒子の凝集が促進され、顔料粒子の微細化が阻害されると考えられるが、上記方法で粗顔料に内包される酸を低減することで、より微細な顔料粒子を得ることができる。
 第1の工程は、析出工程後に、上記沈殿物を、後処理する後処理工程をさらに含んでいてよい。
 第1の工程は、例えば、上記沈殿物を濾過する工程(第1の後処理工程)をさらに含んでいてもよい。第1の後処理工程は、上記沈殿物をろ過し、洗浄する工程であってよく、上記沈殿物をろ過し、洗浄し、乾燥する工程であってよい。洗浄は、例えば、水、硫酸水素ナトリウム水、炭酸水素ナトリウム水、水酸化ナトリウム水等の水性溶剤を用いて行ってよい。洗浄では、必要に応じて、アセトン、トルエン、メチルアルコール、エチルアルコール、ジメチルホルムアミド等の有機溶剤を用いてもよい。例えば、水性溶剤での洗浄後、有機溶剤での洗浄を行ってよい。洗浄は、複数回(例えば2~5回)繰り返し行ってもよい。具体的には、ろ液のpHが洗浄に用いられる水のpHと同等(例えば、両者の差が0.2以下)になるまで洗浄を行うことが好ましい。
 第1の工程は、例えば、上記沈殿物を乾式磨砕する工程(第2の後処理工程)をさらに含んでいてもよい。乾式磨砕は、例えば、アトライター、ボールミル、振動ミル、振動ボールミル等の粉砕機内で行ってよい。乾式粉砕は、加熱しながら(例えば粉砕機内部の温度が40℃~200℃となるように加熱しながら)行ってもよい。乾式磨砕後は水での洗浄を行ってもよい。乾式磨砕後(特にアトライターによる乾式磨砕後)に水での洗浄を行うことで、粗顔料に内包される酸の量をより一層低減することができる。洗浄は、水洗(40℃未満の水による洗浄)、湯洗(40℃以上の水による洗浄)のいずれであってもよい。洗浄は、第1の後処理工程と同様にろ液のpHが洗浄に用いられる水のpHと同等(例えば、両者の差が0.2以下)になるまで行うことが好ましい。なお、水での洗浄の際又はその前には、沈殿物の濡れ性を向上させる処理(例えば沈殿物をメタノール等の水溶性有機溶剤と接触させる処理)を行ってもよい。乾式磨砕と洗浄は複数回繰り返し行ってもよい。
 第1の工程は、例えば、上記沈殿物を水と共に混練する工程(第3の後処理工程)をさらに含んでいてもよい。第3の後処理工程を行うことで、粗顔料に内包される酸の量をより一層低減することができる。混練は、例えばニーダー、ミックスマーラー等を用いて行うことができる。混練は、加熱しながら行ってもよい。例えば、水の温度を40℃以上としてもよい。水には、無機塩を添加してもよい。この際、少なくとも一部の無機塩を固体状で存在させることで、混練時に加わる力を向上させることができる。混練時には有機溶剤(例えば、後述する第2の工程で用い得る有機溶剤)を使用してもよいが、有機溶剤の使用量は水の使用量よりも少ないことが好ましく、有機溶剤を使用しないことがより好ましい。混練後は、第1の後処理工程と同様にして洗浄を行ってもよい。混練及び洗浄は複数回繰り返し行ってもよい。
 第1の工程は、例えば、沈殿物を水中で加熱(例えば煮沸)する工程(第4の後処理工程)をさらに含んでいてもよい。第4の後処理工程を行うことで、粗顔料に内包される酸の量をより一層低減することができる。水中での加熱温度は、例えば、40℃以上沸点以下であってよく、加熱時間は、例えば、1~300分間であってよい。水中には、有機溶剤(例えば、後述する第2の工程で用い得る有機溶剤)を混在させてもよいが、有機溶剤の混在量は、水100質量部に対して、好ましくは20質量部以下である。第4の後処理工程では、より一層酸を除去する観点から、沈殿物を水中で加熱した後に洗浄を行ってよく、沈殿物を水中で加熱した後に洗浄を行い、さらに水中での加熱及び洗浄を1回以上(好ましくは2回以上)繰り返し行ってもよい。洗浄は、第1の後処理工程と同様にして行ってよい。
 本実施形態では、上述した第1~第4の後処理工程のうちの2以上の工程を実施してもよい。第1~第4の後処理工程のうちの2以上の工程を実施する場合、その順序は特に限定されない。
 上記第1の工程により、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料が得られるが、上述したとおり、本実施形態では、第1の工程で得られた上記沈殿物をそのままハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料としてよく、上記沈殿物に対して上記後処理工程(第1~第4の後処理工程のうちの少なくとも一の工程)を行ったものをハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料としてもよい。第2の工程において水を使用する場合、第1の工程で乾燥を行わなくてもよい。すなわち、第2の工程において水を使用する場合、第1の工程で得られた未乾燥のハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料(ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料と水との混合物)を、第2の工程で使用してよい。
 ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料の粒度分布の算術標準偏差は、例えば、15nm以上である。ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料の粒度分布の算術標準偏差は、例えば、1500nm以下である。ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料の粒度分布の算術標準偏差がこのような範囲であると、より微細な顔料粒子が得られやすくなる。ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料の粒度分布の算術標準偏差は、動的光散乱式粒子径分布測定装置を用いて測定することができ、具体的には以下の方法、条件で測定することができる。
(方法)
 ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料2.48gを、ビックケミー社製BYK-LPN6919 1.24g、DIC株式会社製ユニディックZL-295 1.86g、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテルアセテート10.92gと共に0.3~0.4mmのジルコンビーズを用いて、東洋精機株式会社製ペイントシェーカーで2時間分散して分散体を得る。ジルコンビーズをナイロンメッシュで取り除いた後の分散体0.02gをプロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテルアセテート20gで希釈して粒度分布測定用分散体を得る。

 第2の工程では、第1の工程で得られたハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料を顔料化する。
 一態様において、第2の工程は、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料と有機溶剤とを含む混合物(以下、「混合物(A)」という)を対向する一対の部材(例えば板状部材)で挟圧しながら、一対の部材の一方又は両方を回転させることで、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料を磨砕する工程(以下、「磨砕工程」という)を含む。
 上記磨砕工程によれば、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料を微細化すると同時に、その配向性を制御することができる。磨砕工程は、具体的には、フーバーマーラー(オートマチックフーバーマーラーともいう)を用いて実施することができる。この場合、対向する一対の部材はガラス板であり、一方のガラス板上から負荷を加えることで混合物(A)を挟圧しながら、一方のガラス板を対向方向に垂直な方向に回転させることで、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料を磨砕する。
 混合物(A)の使用量は、磨砕時に混合物(A)を挟圧する一対の部材の間から混合物(A)がはみ出さない量であればよく、当該部材の大きさに応じて適宜調整してよい。
 挟圧力(例えば、ガラス板上から加える負荷の大きさ)は、磨砕時に混合物にかかる剪断応力を大きくする観点から、好ましくは5kPa(キロパスカル)以上であり、より好ましくは10kPa以上であり、さらに好ましくは20kPa以上である。挟圧力は、顔料粒子の破砕を防ぐ観点から、好ましくは200kPa以下であり、より好ましくは100kPa以下であり、さらに好ましくは50kPa以下である。
 部材の回転条件は、磨砕時に混合物にかかる剪断応力を大きくする観点から、好ましくは30~300rpmで50~3000回であり、より好ましくは50~200rpmで60~1000回であり、さらに好ましくは70~150rpmで70~300回である。なお、一対の部材の両方が回転する場合、上記回転速度は、一対の部材のうちの一方が静止していると仮定したときの他方の部材の回転速度である。
 磨砕工程では、部材の回転により混合物(A)が部材表面に広がるため、部材を複数回回転させた後、挟圧を解除し、部材表面に広がった混合物(A)を部材中央に寄せてから、再度、挟圧及び回転による磨砕を行ってよい。この場合、上記好ましい回転数は、総回転数を意味する。
 摩砕時の温度(例えば、部材の混合物と接する面の温度)は、例えば、0~100℃である。摩砕工程では、ハロゲン化フタロシアニン粗顔料を冷却又は加熱しながら摩砕を行ってもよい。
 有機溶剤には、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料及び後述する無機塩を溶解しないものを用いることが好ましい。有機溶剤としては、結晶成長を抑制し得る有機溶剤を使用することが好ましい。このような有機溶剤としては水溶性有機溶剤が好適に使用できる。有機溶剤としては、例えば、ジエチレングリコール、グリセリン、エチレングリコール、プロピレングリコール、1,3-プロパンジオール、1,3-ブタンジオール、液体ポリエチレングリコール、液体ポリプロピレングリコール、2-(メトキシメトキシ)エタノール、2-ブトキシエタノール、2-(イソペンチルオキシ)エタノール、2-(ヘキシルオキシ)エタノール、ジエチレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノエチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノブチルエーテル、トリエチレングリコール、トリエチレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、1-メトキシ-2-プロパノール、1-エトキシ-2-プロパノール、ジプロピレングリコール、ジプロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、ジプロピレングリコールモノエチルエーテル、トリメチルフォスフェート、4-ブチロラクトン、プロピレンカーボネート、N-メチル-2-ピロリドン、メタノール、エチレンシアノヒドリン、1,2,4-ブタントリオール、1,2,5-ペンタントリオール等を用いることができる。有機溶剤は1種を単独で、又は複数種を組み合わせ使用することができる。
 有機溶剤としては、粘度が高く、混合物(A)に十分な剪断応力を加えやすくなる観点から、好ましくは炭素数が3~5のトリオールを用いることが好ましく、1,2,4-ブタントリオール、グリセリン及び1,2,5-ペンタントリオールからなる群より選択される少なくとも一種を用いることがより好ましく、1,2,4-ブタントリオールを用いることがさらに好ましい。
 有機溶剤(例えば水溶性有機溶剤)の使用量は、特に限定されるものではないが、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料100質量部に対して1~500質量部が好ましい。有機溶剤(例えば水溶性有機溶剤)の使用量は、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料100質量部に対して、30質量部以上又は50質量部以上であってもよく、400質量部以下又は200質量部以下であってもよい。
 磨砕工程では、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料を無機塩と共に混練することで磨砕してよい。すなわち、磨砕工程では、混合物(A)として、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料と有機溶剤と無機塩とを含む混合物を用いてもよい。無機塩を使用することで、磨砕工程でハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料に加わる力を向上させることができ、より微細な顔料粒子を得やすくなる。
 無機塩としては、水及び/又はメタノールに対する溶解性を有する無機塩が好ましく用いられる。例えば、塩化ナトリウム、塩化カリウム、塩化リチウム、硫酸ナトリウム等の無機塩が好ましく用いられる。無機塩の平均粒子径は、好ましくは0.5~50μmである。このような無機塩は、通常の無機塩を微粉砕することにより容易に得られる。
 磨砕工程では、水を使用しないことが好ましい。すなわち、磨砕工程で用いる混合物(A)は水を含有しないことが好ましい。水の使用量(混合物中の水の含有量)は、例えば、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料100質量部に対して、20質量部以下であり、10質量部以下又は5質量部以下であってもよい。
 磨砕工程において、無機塩及び有機溶剤を用いる場合、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料と、無機塩と、有機溶剤とを含む混合物が得られるが、この混合物から有機溶剤と無機塩を除去し、必要に応じてハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料を主体とする固形物に対して洗浄、濾過、乾燥、粉砕等の操作を行ってもよい。
 洗浄としては、無機塩の種類に応じて、水洗、湯洗、有機溶剤(例えば、メタノール等の表面張力が小さい有機溶剤)での洗浄及びこれらの組み合わせを採用できる。洗浄は、1~5回の範囲で繰り返し行ってよい。水溶性無機塩及び水溶性有機溶剤を用いた場合は、水洗することで容易に有機溶剤と無機塩を除去することができる。必要であれば、酸洗浄、アルカリ洗浄を行ってもよい。
 上記洗浄及び濾過後の乾燥としては、例えば、乾燥機に設置した加熱源による80~120℃の加熱等により、顔料の脱水及び/又は脱溶剤をする回分式或いは連続式の乾燥等が挙げられる。乾燥機としては、一般に、箱型乾燥機、バンド乾燥機、スプレードライヤー等が挙げられる。特に、スプレードライヤーを用いるスプレードライ乾燥はペースト作製時に易分散であるため好ましい。洗浄に有機溶剤を用いる場合は、0~60℃で真空乾燥することが好ましい。
 乾燥後の粉砕は、比表面積を大きくしたり、一次粒子の平均粒子径を小さくしたりするための操作ではなく、例えば箱型乾燥機、バンド乾燥機を用いた乾燥の場合のように顔料がランプ状等となった際に顔料を解して粉末化するために行うものである。例えば、乳鉢、ハンマーミル、ディスクミル、ピンミル、ジェットミル等による粉砕などが挙げられる。
 他の一態様において、第2の工程は、粗顔料と水とを含み、pHが2~12である混合物(以下、「混合物(B)」という)を用意し、当該混合物(B)を加圧雰囲気下で加熱する工程(加熱・加圧工程)を含む。
 上記加熱・加圧工程によれば、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料を微細化すると同時に、その配向性を制御することができる。加熱・加圧工程は、具体的には、オートクレーブ等の加熱・加圧装置を用いて実施することができる。オートクレーブでは、オートクレーブに設けられた加熱及び密閉可能な容器内に混合物(B)を配置し、容器を密閉した状態で混合物(B)を加熱することで、混合物に含まれる水が水蒸気となり、当該水蒸気によって容器内の密閉空間を加圧雰囲気とすることができる。
 混合物(B)の使用量は、特に限定されず、使用する装置の大きさ等に応じて適宜変更してよい。
 混合物(B)中の水の含有量は、加圧雰囲気の圧力が好適な範囲となりやすくなり、より微細且つ配向し難いハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料が得られやすくなる観点から、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料100質量部に対して、好ましくは300質量部以上であり、より好ましくは450質量部以上であり、さらに好ましくは600質量部以上である。混合物(B)中の水の含有量は、加圧雰囲気の圧力が好適な範囲となりやすくなり、より微細且つ配向し難いハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料が得られやすくなる観点から、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料100質量部に対して、好ましくは6000質量部以下であり、より好ましくは4500質量部以下であり、さらに好ましくは3000質量部以下である。混合物(B)中の水の量は、容器内の水の量が、該容器の容器標準容積100体積%に対して、10~90体積%となる量であることが好ましく、40~80体積%となる量であることがより好ましい。
 混合物のpHは、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンを適度に凝集させることができ、より微細且つ配向し難いハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料が得られやすくなる観点から、好ましくは11.5以下であり、より好ましくは10以下である。混合物のpHは、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンを過度に凝集させない観点から、好ましくは2.5以上であり、より好ましくは3以上である。なお、上記pHは、25℃でのpHである。混合物のpHは、例えば、pH調整剤を用いて調整することができる。pH調整剤としては、塩酸、硫酸、リン酸、水酸化カリウム、水酸化ナトリウム等の公知慣用のものを用いることができる。なお、上記pHは加熱開始時のpHであるが、本実施形態では、加熱時のpHが上記範囲内であることがより好ましい。
 加熱・加圧工程は、例えば、混合物(B)を密閉空間内に配置した後、密閉空間の雰囲気温度を所定温度(最終到達温度)まで昇温する工程と、当該雰囲気温度を当該所定温度(最終到達温度)に保持する工程と、を含む。
 加熱開始温度(例えば、混合物(B)を密閉空間内に配置した直後の当該密閉空間内の雰囲気温度)は、例えば、室温(20~30℃)であってよい。
 所定温度(最終到達温度)は、一次粒子の凝集を解きやすくする観点から、好ましくは80℃以上であり、より好ましくは100℃以上である。所定温度(最終到達温度)は、一次粒子の粗大化を防ぎやすくする観点から、好ましくは250℃以下であり、より好ましくは230℃以下である。所定温度に到達した後は、80~250℃で保持することが好ましく、100~230℃で保持することがより好ましい。
 昇温速度は、粒度を整いやすくする観点及び一次粒子の凝集を解きやすくする観点から、好ましくは10℃/分以下であり、より好ましくは5℃/分以下であり、さらに好ましくは3℃/分以下である。昇温速度は、0.1℃/分以上であってよく、0.5℃/分以上であってもよく、又は1℃/分以上であってもよい。
 所定温度(最終到達温度)での保持時間は、粒度を整いやすくする観点から、好ましくは30分間以上であり、より好ましくは60分間(1時間)以上である。所定温度(最終到達温度)での保持時間は、一次粒子の粗大化を防ぎやすくする観点から、好ましくは30時間以下であり、より好ましくは10時間以下である。
 加圧雰囲気の圧力は、一次粒子の凝集を解きやすくする観点から、所定温度到達時において、0.05MPa以上となることが好ましく、0.1MPa以上となることがより好ましく、0.2MPa以上となることがさらに好ましい。加圧雰囲気の圧力は、一次粒子の粗大化を防ぐ観点から、所定温度到達時において、2MPa以下となることが好ましく、1.8MPa以下となることがより好ましく、1.7MPa以下となることがさらに好ましい。
 加熱・加圧工程における加熱(例えば昇温及び保持)は混合物(B)を撹拌しながら行ってよい。混合物(B)の撹拌は、例えば、加熱・加圧装置として、密閉空間内にパドル、プロペラ等の撹拌装置を備えるオートクレーブを用いることで行うことができる。このような攪拌装置としては、例えば、浅田鉄工社製同心型二軸攪拌機等を用いることができる。撹拌速度は、例えば、30~200rpmであってよい。
 加熱・加圧工程では、密閉容器内に窒素、アルゴン等の不活性ガスを導入してもよい。
 加熱・加圧工程後(例えば保持時間終了後)は、混合物(B)の加熱・加圧処理によって得られた処理物を放冷すること等により冷却することで、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料を主体とする固形物が得られる。冷却後は、必要に応じてハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料を主体とする固形物に対し、上述した摩砕工程後と同様に、洗浄、濾過、乾燥、粉砕等の操作を行ってもよい。
 以下、本発明の内容を実施例及び比較例を用いてより詳細に説明するが、本発明は以下の実施例に限定されるものではない。
<粗顔料の合成>
(粗顔料A1の合成)
 300mlフラスコに、塩化スルフリル(富士フイルム和光純薬工業株式会社製) 91g、塩化アルミニウム(関東化学株式会社製) 109g、塩化ナトリウム(東京化成工業株式会社製) 15g、亜鉛フタロシアニン(DIC株式会社製) 30g、臭素(富士フイルム和光純薬工業株式会社製) 230gを仕込んだ。130℃まで昇温し、130℃で40時間保持した。反応混合物を水に取り出した後、ろ過し、水洗することにより含水粗顔料WA1を得た。次いで、含水粗顔料WA1 10gを90℃で14時間乾燥することによりハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料(粗顔料A1) 4gを得た。なお、水洗は、ろ液のpHと洗浄に用いられる水のpHの差が±0.2になるまで行った。
 粗顔料A1について日本電子株式会社製JMS-S3000による質量分析を行い、平均塩素数が1.8個、平均臭素数が13.2個のハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンであることを確認した。なお、質量分析時のDelay Timeは500ns、Laser Intensityは44%、m/z=1820以上1860以下のピークのResolving Power Valueは31804であった。
(粗顔料A2の合成)
 300mlフラスコに、塩化スルフリル(富士フイルム和光純薬工業株式会社製) 91g、塩化アルミニウム(関東化学株式会社製) 109g、塩化ナトリウム(東京化成工業株式会社製) 19g、亜鉛フタロシアニン(DIC株式会社製) 28g、臭素(富士フイルム和光純薬工業株式会社製) 230gを仕込んだ。140℃まで昇温し、140℃で40時間保持した。反応混合物を水に取り出した後、ろ過し、水洗することにより含水粗顔料WA2を得た。次いで、含水粗顔料WA2 10gを90℃で14時間乾燥することによりハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン粗顔料(粗顔料A2) 4gを得た。なお、水洗は、ろ液のpHと洗浄に用いられる水のpHの差が±0.2になるまで行った。この粗顔料A2を参考例1とする。
 粗顔料A2(参考例1)について日本電子株式会社製JMS-S3000による質量分析を行い、平均塩素数が2.0個、平均臭素数が13.5個のハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニンであることを確認した。なお、質量分析時のDelay Timeは500ns、Laser Intensityは46%、m/z=1820以上1860以下のピークのResolving Power Valueは30582であった。
<実施例1>
 粗顔料A1 0.3g、粉砕した塩化ナトリウム 3g及び1,2,4-ブタントリオール 0.9gをオートマチックフーバーマーラ(東洋精機製作所)に仕込み、ガラス板上部から150lbsの荷重をかけ、25℃で、ガラス板を25回転させることで混練した。混練物をヘラでかきとって再度仕込み直し、再度ガラス板上部から150lbsの荷重をかけ、25℃で、ガラス板を25回転させることで混練した。その後、混練物をヘラでかきとって再度仕込み直し、再度ガラス板上部から150lbsの荷重をかけ、25℃で、ガラス板を50回転させることで混練した。なお、上記混練は、全て100rpmで実施したことから、合計磨砕時間は1分間であった。
 次に、上記で得られた混練物を湯200gに取り出し、1時間攪拌した。その後、ろ過し、湯洗し、乾燥し、粉砕することにより、緑色顔料G1を得た。
<実施例2>
 粗顔料A1に代えて粗顔料A2を用いたこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして、緑色顔料G2を得た。
<実施例3>
 含水粗顔料WA2(粗顔料A2:水(質量比)=6:4) 75gを水 525gと共に1Lオートクレーブに仕込んだ。濃度5質量%の塩酸を使用して、処理対象物(含水粗顔料WA2と水の混合物)の水素イオン指数をpH5.5に調整した後、オートクレーブを密閉した。pHは横河電機株式会社製のPH71パーソナルpHメータで測定した。次いで、撹拌しながら2時間かけて200℃に昇温し、200℃で5時間保持した。200℃到達時におけるオートクレーブ内の圧力は1.55MPaであった。室温まで放冷した後、得られた処理物をろ過し、湯洗し、乾燥し、粉砕することにより、緑色顔料G3を得た。
<参考例2>
 粗顔料A2 45g、粉砕した塩化ナトリウム 450g、水 90gを双腕型ニーダーに仕込み、60℃で6時間混練した。混練後の混練物を80℃の水2kgに取り出し、1時間攪拌した。その後、ろ過し、湯洗、乾燥、粉砕することにより、プレ顔料GPを得た。
<実施例4>
 プレ顔料GP 0.3g、粉砕した塩化ナトリウム 3g及び1,2,4-ブタントリオール 0.9gをオートマチックフーバーマーラ(東洋精機製作所)に仕込み、ガラス板上部から150lbsの荷重をかけ、25℃で、ガラス板を25回転させることで混練した。混練物をヘラでかきとって再度仕込み直し、再度ガラス板上部から150lbsの荷重をかけ、25℃で、ガラス板を25回転させることで混練した。その後、混練物をヘラでかきとって再度仕込み直し、再度ガラス板上部から150lbsの荷重をかけ、25℃で、ガラス板を50回転させることで混練した。なお、上記混練は、全て100rpmで実施したことから、合計磨砕時間は1分間であった。
 次に、上記で得られた混練物を湯200gに取り出し、1時間攪拌した。その後、ろ過し、湯洗し、乾燥し、粉砕することにより、緑色顔料G5を得た。
<実施例5>
 プレ顔料GP 12g、粉砕した塩化ナトリウム 450g、1,2,4-ブタントリオール 61gを双腕型ニーダーに仕込み、20℃で30分混練した。混練後の混練物を20℃の水2kgに取り出し、1時間攪拌した。その後、ろ過し、湯洗、乾燥、粉砕することにより、緑色顔料G6を得た。
<比較例1>
 粗顔料A2 40g、粉砕した塩化ナトリウム 400g、ジエチレングリコール 63gを双腕型ニーダーに仕込み、80℃で8時間混練した。混練後の混練物を80℃の水2kgに取り出し、1時間攪拌した。その後、ろ過し、湯洗、乾燥、粉砕することにより、緑色顔料G4を得た。
<評価>
(平均一次粒子径の測定)
 緑色顔料(G1~G6)をシクロヘキサンに超音波分散させてから顕微鏡で撮影し、二次元画像上の凝集体を構成する一次粒子40個の平均値から、一次粒子の平均粒子径(平均一次粒子径)を算出した。結果を表1に示す。
(配向性パラメータ(A)及び(C)の測定)
 以下の方法で、粗顔料A2及び緑色顔料G1~G6の配向性パラメータ(A)及び(C)を測定した。なお、粗顔料A2を用いた場合を参考例1とする。
 まず、粗顔料A2、プレ顔料GP又は緑色顔料(G1~G8) 0.992gを、BYK-LPN6919(ビックケミー社製、固形分60質量%溶液) 0.496g、ユニディックZL-295(DIC株式会社製、固形分40質量%溶液) 0.744g、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテルアセテート 4.368gと共に、0.3~0.4mmのジルコンビーズを15.2g用いて、東洋精機株式会社製ペイントシェーカーで2時間分散して分散体(MG)を得た。
 上記分散体(MG) 3.000g、ユニディックZL-295(DIC株式会社製) 0.735g、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテルアセテート 0.165gを加えて、ペイントシェーカーで混合することで配向性を測定するための評価用組成物(CG)を得た。
 評価用組成物(CG)を、ガラス基板上にスピンコートし、90℃で3分乾燥した後に、230℃で1時間加熱した。これにより、粗顔料、プレ顔料又は緑色顔料(G1~G6)と樹脂(ユニディックZL-295中の固形分とBYK-LPN6919中の固形分)との質量比率が1:1.25である着色膜をガラス基板上に有する、配向性評価用ガラス基板を作製した。また、スピンコートする際にスピン回転速度を調整することにより、230℃で1時間加熱して得られる着色膜の厚さを4.0μmとした。ガラス基板としては、Corning(登録商標) EAGLE XG(厚み1.1mm)を使用した。
 高輝度放射光実験設備SPring-8内のフロンティアソフトマター開発専用ビームライン産学連合体が所有するビームラインBL03XU第1ハッチを使用して、測定モードを斜入射広角X線散乱法(GrazingIncidence Wide Angle X-ray Scattering:GI-WAXS)として、室温測定の条件で、配向性評価用ガラス基板上の着色膜のGI-WAXS測定を行った。カメラ長は102.5mmとし、X線波長は0.1nmとし、X線入射角は0.06°とし、露光時間は5秒とした。
 GI-WAXS測定により得られた二次元散乱像を用いて配向性パラメータ(A)及び(C)を求めた。結果を表1に示し、参考例1、比較例1及び実施例3で得られた二次元散乱像をそれぞれ図1の(a)、(b)及び(c)に示し、これらの二次元散乱像から導出した、方位角5°~89°の範囲の方位角プロファイル(規格化平均散乱強度(規格化強度)を縦軸とし、横軸を方位角とするグラフ)を図2の(a)、(b)及び(c)に示し、方位角45°~55°の範囲の方位角プロファイル(規格化平均散乱強度(規格化強度)を縦軸とし、横軸を方位角とするグラフ)を図3の(a)、(b)及び(c)に示す。図2は、配向性パラメータ(A)に関するグラフであり、図3は、配向性パラメータ(C)に関するグラフである。
 図1に示すように、参考例1(図1中の(a))では、90°方向の強度が大きく、比較例1(図1中の(b))では、斜め方向の強度が大きいのに対し、実施例3(図1中の(c))では、強度が均一であり円環上の散乱が得られており、定性的観点からも、実施例3では配向が緩和されていることが分かる。また、図2中の(c)に示すように、実施例3では、規格化平均散乱強度の最小値/最大値が0.78/1.07であり、配向性パラメータ(A)が0.70~1.15を満たす。また、図3中の(c)に示すように、実施例3では、直線近似式の傾きが0.026であり、配向性パラメータ(C)が-0.006~0.006を満たす。
(コントラスト及び輝度の評価)
 ピグメントイエロー138(大日精化社製クロモファインイエロー6206EC) 1.65gを、DISPERBYK-161(ビックケミー社製) 3.85g、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテルアセテート 11.00gと共に0.3~0.4mmのジルコンビーズを用いて、東洋精機株式会社製ペイントシェーカーで2時間分散して分散体を得た。
 上記分散体 4.0g、ユニディックZL-295 0.98g、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテルアセテート 0.22gを加えて、ペイントシェーカーで混合することで調色用黄色組成物(TY1)を得た。
 緑色顔料(G1~G6) 2.48gを、ビックケミー社製BYK-LPN6919 1.24g、DIC株式会社製 ユニディックZL-295 1.86g、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテルアセテート10.92gと共に0.3~0.4mmのジルコンビーズを用いて、東洋精機株式会社製ペイントシェーカーで2時間分散してカラーフィルタ用顔料分散体(MG1)を得た。
 上記カラーフィルタ用顔料分散体(MG1) 4.0g、DIC株式会社製 ユニディックZL-295 0.98g、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテルアセテート0.22gを加えて、ペイントシェーカーで混合することでカラーフィルタ用緑色画素部を形成するための評価用組成物(CG1)を得た。
 評価用組成物(CG1)を、ガラス基板上にスピンコートし、90℃で3分乾燥した後に、230℃で1時間加熱した。これにより、着色膜をガラス基板上に有する、コントラスト評価用ガラス基板を作製した。なお、スピンコートする際にスピン回転速度を調整することにより、230℃で1時間加熱して得られる着色膜の厚さを1.8μmとした。ガラス基板としては、Corning(登録商標) EAGLE XG(厚み1.1mm)を使用した。
 さらに、上記で作製した調色用黄色組成物(TY1)と評価用組成物(CG1)を混合して得られる塗液を、ガラス基板上にスピンコートし、90℃で3分乾燥した後に、230℃で1時間加熱した。これにより、着色膜をガラス基板上に有する、輝度評価用ガラス基板を作製した。なお、調色用黄色組成物(TY1)と評価用組成物(CG1)の混合比と、スピンコートする際のスピン回転速度を調整することにより、230℃で1時間加熱して得られる着色膜のC光源における色度(x,y)が(0.275,0.570)となる着色膜を作製した。ガラス基板としては、Corning(登録商標) EAGLE XG(厚み1.1mm)を使用した。
 コントラスト評価用ガラス基板における着色膜のコントラストを壺坂電機株式会社製のコントラストテスターCT-1で測定し、輝度評価用ガラス基板における着色膜の輝度を日立ハイテクサイエンス社製U-3900で測定した。結果を表1に示す。なお、表1に示すコントラスト及び輝度は、比較例1のコントラスト及び輝度を基準とする値である。

Claims (2)

  1.  ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料であって、
     前記顔料1.00質量部と、ベンジルメタクリレート-メタクリル酸共重合体0.95質量部と、ジメチルアミノエチルメタクリレート共重合体0.30質量部とを含む塗膜を230℃で1時間加熱して厚さ4μmの評価用塗膜を形成し、当該評価用塗膜のGI-WAXS測定により得られる二次元散乱像から、散乱角2θが17°~21°の範囲の平均散乱強度を求め、方位角45°の前記平均散乱強度を1とする規格化平均散乱強度を求めたとき、
     方位角5°~89°における前記規格化平均散乱強度が0.70~1.15である、ハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料。
  2.  平均一次粒子径が30nm以下である、請求項1に記載のハロゲン化亜鉛フタロシアニン顔料。
