Definitions
- the present invention relates to a conjugated polymer for a low-temperature process, and more particularly, a conjugated polymer having a new structure capable of producing a photoactive layer even at room temperature, but maintaining excellent efficiency and performance, a photoactive layer composition using the same, and containing the same. It relates to an organic solar cell.
- a solar cell is a photoelectric conversion device that converts solar energy into electrical energy, and is in the spotlight as a next-generation energy resource.
- Solar cells can be largely divided into inorganic solar cells and organic solar cells.
- Organic solar cells are bi-layer pn junctions in which a p-type semiconductor and an n-type semiconductor are formed of separate layers according to the structure of the photoactive layer. It is divided into a bulk heterojunction type in which a structure and a p-type semiconductor and an n-type semiconductor are mixed to form one layer.
- the donor polymer used in the photoactive layer is a polymer consisting of only one electron sufficient aromatic group and an electron deficient aromatic group introduced into the electron-rich aromatic group.
- conjugated polymer has high crystallinity, it has low solubility and requires a high temperature process. That is, in spite of excellent performance and various advantages, organic solar cells obtain less than ideal efficiency due to the high-temperature process required during manufacturing, shorten their lifespan, and have potential complexity and risk in process procedures. It is not recognized as a new energy source in terms of economy because it uses a lot of energy and equipment for high temperature process.
- the present invention has been devised in view of the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a novel conjugated polymer for a low temperature process of an organic solar cell or a photoactive layer, having high solubility and crystallinity at a low temperature.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a photoactive layer composition comprising the conjugated polymer and an organic solar cell capable of being manufactured at a low temperature using the same.
- the present invention for achieving the object as described above is to provide a conjugated polymer for low temperature coating comprising a repeating unit represented by the following formula (I).
- R 1 to R 12 are each the same or differently, and each is any one selected from hydrogen, C 1 to C 20 linear or branched alkyl groups.
- the x is a real number in the range of 0.01 to 0.5, and n is an integer in the range of 1 to 1,000.
- R 1, R 2, R 3, R 4, R 9, R 10, R 11, R 12 are any one selected from C 8 to C 10 linear alkyl groups, and R 5 , R 6 , R 7 , R 8 may be any one selected from C 2 to C 4 linear alkyl groups.
- Formula I may be represented by the following Formula Ia.
- the x is a real number in the range of 0.1 to 0.2, and n is an integer in the range of 1 to 1,000.
- the present invention for achieving the above object is to provide a photoactive layer composition for an organic solar cell that can be coated at a low temperature including the conjugated polymer and a solvent.
- the solvent may be any one or more selected from the group consisting of chlorobenzene, chloroform, paraxylene, 1,2-dichlorobenzene, trichlorobenzene, toluene, and 1,8-diiodooctane.
- the solvent is chlorobenzene, 1,2-dichlorobenzene is mixed in a volume ratio of 1: 0.5-2, or chlorobenzene, 1,2-dichlorobenzene and 1,8-diiodooctane are each 1: 0.5- 2: It may be mixed in a volume ratio of 0.001-0.03.
- the photoactive layer composition may further include a conjugated polymer according to the present invention as an electron donor and a fullerene derivative as an electron acceptor. Therefore, the photoactive layer made of the photoactive layer composition can provide a photovoltaic effect through very fast charge transfer and separation between the electron donor and the electron acceptor.
- the photoactive layer composition may further include a fullerene derivative, and the florene derivative may be at least one selected from the group consisting of C60, C70, C84, PC71BM, PC61BM, ICBA, and ICMA.
- the conjugated polymer and the fullerene derivative may be mixed in a weight ratio of 1: 1-2, and the conjugated polymer according to the present invention has excellent miscibility with the fullerene derivative, so even if the content of the fullerene derivative is less than that of the prior art It can exhibit remarkably excellent performance.
- the conjugated polymer according to the present invention can exhibit excellent performance even when it is mixed with a fullerene derivative in a ratio of 1:1.2-1.5 by weight, so it is most preferable in consideration of cost and long-term stability.
- the present invention is to provide an organic solar cell including the photoactive layer.
- the conjugated polymer according to the present invention has excellent solubility and crystallinity at a low temperature, so that a thin film can be uniformly formed on a large area without a heat treatment process, so that an organic solar cell can be manufactured with high efficiency at a low temperature.
- the conjugated polymer of the present invention forms excellent crystallinity without a heating process, an organic solar cell having a high energy conversion efficiency of a small area or a large area can be mass-produced at low cost.
- FIG. 1 is a graph showing the measurement of UV-vis absorption spectra for each of the conjugated polymers prepared in Preparation Example 1 after dissolving them in chlorobenzene (CB) and changing the temperature.
- FIG. 2 is a graph showing the measurement of UV-vis absorption spectra for each of the conjugated polymers prepared in Comparative Example 1 when dissolved in chlorobenzene (CB) and then at different temperatures.
- Example 4 is a photograph of a bar-coated BDT-Th10:PC71BM photoactive layer (large area: 5.4 cm 2) prepared from Example 7.
- An aspect of the present invention relates to a conjugated polymer for low temperature coating comprising a repeating unit represented by the following formula (I).
- R 1 to R 12 are each the same or differently, and each is any one selected from hydrogen, C 1 to C 20 linear or branched alkyl groups.
- the x is a real number in the range of 0.01 to 0.5, and n is an integer in the range of 1 to 1,000.
- R 1, R 2, R 3, R 4, R 9, R 10, R 11, R 12 are any one selected from C 8 to C 10 linear alkyl groups
- R 5 , R 6 , R 7 and R 8 are preferably any one selected from C 2 to C 4 linear alkyl groups.
- the x may be a real number in the range of 0.01 to 0.5, preferably may be a real number in the range of 0.1 to 0.2.
- the range of x is out of the range of 0.01 to 0.5, even if the number of carbon atoms of the alkyl group introduced into the side chain of the main chain satisfies the above range, the efficiency of the conjugated polymer is greatly reduced due to low crystallinity.
- the range of x exceeds the range of 0.1 to 0.2, when the organic solar cell is manufactured in a large area using bar coating, there is a problem that the energy conversion efficiency of the solar cell is greatly reduced.
- R 1, R 2, R 3, R 4, R 9, R 10, R 11, R 12 is C 8 to C 10 is any one selected from a linear alkyl group
- the R 5 , R 6 , R 7 , R 8 is any one selected from C 2 to C 4 linear alkyl groups
- x is 0.1 to 0.2 Most preferably, it is a real number of ranges.
- the conjugated polymer of the present invention can maintain a uniform solution state without aggregation at room temperature, low temperature, and high temperature.
- the conjugated polymer of the present invention is mixed with a fluorene derivative to form a photoactive layer, even if it is coated at a temperature of less than 70°C, it is generated as it is coated at a temperature of less than 70°C while maintaining the performance required for the photoactive layer. Problems (reduction in solubility, degradation in performance, formation of agglomeration) are remarkably excellent to improve.
- the conjugated polymer of the present invention Due to the new structure, the conjugated polymer of the present invention has excellent solubility even at a process temperature of less than 70°C, preferably 10 to 50°C, and does not exhibit a problem of formation of aggregation, unlike a conjugated polymer in which only a fluorine group is introduced. . Therefore, the photoactive layer composition comprising the conjugated polymer of the present invention or an organic solar cell manufactured using the same exhibits excellent performance (optical short-circuit current, fill factor, and energy conversion efficiency) in a room temperature process.
- the conjugated polymer of the present invention solves the above problem, and not only can manufacture an organic solar cell with high reproducibility at less than 70° C., preferably 10 to 50° C., but also has performance such as energy conversion efficiency compared to the conventional conjugated polymer. Compared to this, it has improved significantly.
- formula I may be represented by the following formula Ia.
- the x is a real number in the range of 0.1 to 0.2, and n is an integer in the range of 1 to 1,000.
- the conjugated polymer according to the present invention maintains its intrinsic electrical and physical properties as it is, but has significantly improved solubility at less than 70° C., preferably 10 to 50° C., due to this property, a fullerene derivative at a low temperature when applied to an organic solar cell. Since it has excellent compatibility with and prevents the occurrence of phase separation, it is possible to manufacture a photoactive layer and an organic solar cell with improved performance simply by drying at a process temperature of less than 70°C, preferably at 10 to 50°C. .
- the conjugated polymer of the present invention can be manufactured to have excellent performance at room temperature, not only a small area but also an organic solar cell having a large area of 5 cm2 or more can be significantly reduced compared to the conventional conjugated polymer.
- the conjugated polymer according to the present invention having such an effect can be applied to various fields such as catalyst materials, biomaterials, pharmaceuticals, nonlinear optical materials or organic electronic materials.
- the conjugated polymer according to the present invention can be prepared through a manufacturing method comprising the following steps.

Abstract
Description

[화학식 Ⅰa]
