Definitions

  • Patent Document 1 discloses an exhaust gas seal structure of a turbine housing.
  • the exhaust gas seal structure includes a turbine housing, a bearing member, a shaft, and a seal member.
  • the bearing member is provided on the turbine housing.
  • the bearing member rotatably supports the shaft.
  • the bearing member has an end surface orthogonal to the axial direction of the shaft.
  • the shaft has a seat surface facing the end surface of the bearing member.
  • the seal member includes a spring member. The spring member urges the bearing member toward the side that presses the end surface of the bearing member against the bearing surface of the shaft.
  • High-temperature exhaust gas of 500 ° C. or higher flows in the turbine housing. Therefore, the spring member is disposed under a high temperature environment of 500 ° C. or higher. When the spring member is disposed in a high-temperature environment, there is a case where a set occurs due to high temperature. In this case, the spring member reduces the urging force for pressing the end surface of the bearing member against the bearing surface of the shaft. When the urging force of the spring member is reduced, the exhaust gas may leak out of the turbine housing through a gap between the shaft and the bearing member.
