- a heat sink 13 is attached to the lower surface of the rectangular flat plate 122 of each bus bar 12.
- the heat sink 13 has high thermal conductivity, and is made of, for example, metal.
- the heat sink 13 has a rectangular flat plate shape.
- the lower surface of the rectangular flat plate 122 of the bus bar 12 and the upper surface of the heat sink 13 are bonded by, for example, a thermosetting synthetic resin adhesive (not shown).
- a thermosetting synthetic resin adhesive By hardening the adhesive, an adhesive layer (not shown) is formed between the bus bar 12 and the heat sink 13. This adhesive layer has electrical insulation and does not hinder heat conduction from the bus bar 12 to the heat sink 13.
- the heat sink 13 attached to the two bus bars 12 covers the lower end surface of the frame body 21 and closes the lower opening of the frame body 21.
- the frame body 21 and the heat sink 13 form a box body having the frame body 21 as a peripheral wall and the heat sink 13 as a bottom wall.
- a heat radiating fin may be provided on the lower surface of the heat sink 13.
- the electrical connection box 1 further includes a circuit board 31.
- the circuit board 31 is attached to the upper surface of the rectangular flat plate 122 of each bus bar 12 with one surface facing downward.
- Each of the six switching elements 32 is, for example, an FET (Field Effect Transistor).
- the six switching elements 32 are a set of two. For example, source terminals of the set of switching elements 32 are connected to each other. In this case, the drain terminals of the pair of switching elements 32 are connected to different bus bars 12.
- the gate terminal of each switching element 32 is connected to the control element 33.
- the one set of switching elements 32 is arranged in one direction where the two stud bolts 11 face each other, and the three sets of switching elements 32 are arranged in the vertical direction of the one direction.
- the two bus bars 12 are connected to each other. At this time, a current flows from the power source to the first load through the three sets of switching elements 32.
- the current flowing through the set of switching elements 32 is 1/3 of the current flowing through the bus bar 12. That is, by using three sets of switching elements 32, the current flowing through each switching element 32 can be reduced.
- the switching elements 32 When all the switching elements 32 are off, no current flows through each switching element 32, so that the connection between the two bus bars 12 is disconnected. At this time, the connection between the power source and the first load is disconnected. When the connection between the power source and the first load is disconnected, the first load is supplied with power from an auxiliary power source (for example, a sub-battery, not shown) that is directly connected to the first load.
- an auxiliary power source for example, a sub-battery, not shown
- the forward direction of the parasitic diode of one switching element 32 and the forward direction of the parasitic diode of the other switching element 32 are opposite to each other. Therefore, when all the switching elements 32 are off, the two bus bars 12 are not connected through the parasitic diodes of the six switching elements 32.
- switching element 32 is not limited to an FET. Further, the number of switching elements 32 is not limited to six, and may be any plural number. Further, the number of switching elements 32 is not limited to one set. It is sufficient that at least one switching element 32 is interposed between the two bus bars 12.
- the control element is, for example, an MPU (Micro Processing Unit) or the like, and switches each switching element 32 on / off.
- the control element is connected to a connector 34 provided on the peripheral edge of the circuit board 31.
- a control signal is input to the control element from the outside of the electrical connection box 1 via a signal line (not shown) connected to the connector 34.
- each switching element 32 is switched on / off. For example, when a control signal indicating that the starter starts operating is input, the control element switches all the switching elements 32 off. After starting the engine by the starter, the control element switches all the switching elements 32 on.
- the electrical junction box 1 further includes a temperature sensor (not shown).
- the temperature sensor detects the temperatures of the six switching elements 32.
- the temperature detection result by the temperature sensor is given to the control element, and when the temperature exceeds a predetermined upper limit temperature, all the switching elements 32 are switched off to protect the six switching elements 32 from overheating.
- the predetermined upper limit temperature is a temperature lower than the temperatures of the six switching elements 32 during overheating.
- the control element keeps the six switching elements 32 off until the temperature of at least the six switching elements 32 falls below a predetermined safe temperature.
- the predetermined safe temperature is a temperature sufficiently lower than the predetermined upper limit temperature.
- the electric connection box 1 may be provided with a current sensor.
- the current sensor detects a current flowing through the switching element 32. For example, when a current exceeding an upper limit value smaller than an overcurrent flows through the switching element 32, the control element switches the switching element 32 off. That is, the control element protects the six switching elements 32 from overheating by protecting the six switching elements 32 from overcurrent.
- the peripheral wall of the lid body 22 is provided with a notch-shaped concave portion, and a part of the connector 34 (specifically, the connector 34 has the above-mentioned configuration from the opening formed by using the concave portion and the frame body 21.
- the portion to which the signal line is connected is exposed to the outside of the container 2.
- the two stud bolts 11, the rectangular flat plate 121 of each bus bar 12, and the heat sink 13 are exposed to the outside of the container 2.
- the energized switching element 32 In the electrical junction box 1 as described above, the energized switching element 32 generates heat. The heat generated by the switching element 32 is transmitted to the circuit board 31, the bus bar 12, and the heat sink 13 and is released from the heat sink 13 to the outside of the electrical junction box 1. When not overheating, the temperature of the switching element 32 is low.
- the overheating of the switching element 32 may occur, for example, in an emergency situation where a malfunction occurs in the control element and the overheating protection of the switching element 32 by the control element is not performed.
- the temperature of the switching element 32 is high.
- the heat generated by the switching element 32 is transmitted to the thermal fuse 4 through the bus bar 12.
- the thermal fuse 4 can be easily installed by being inserted between the stud bolt 11 and being arranged between the connection terminal 5 and the bus bar 12, and space saving is realized. Thereby, the electrical junction box 1 can be reduced in size. Further, when an overcurrent flows between the connection terminal 5 and the bus bar 12, the conductive portion 44 is melted and the interval is maintained by the insulating portions 42 and 43, so that the connection terminal 5 and the bus bar 12 are insulated. Therefore, the thermal fuse 4 can interrupt the current with a simple structure.
- connection terminal 5 and the bus bar 12 can be more reliably insulated from each other when the conductive portion 44 is melted. Since the insulating plates 42 and 43 and the conductive portion 44 are sandwiched in the axial direction and the two electrode plates 40 and 41 having the through holes 40a and 41a are provided, the connection terminals 5 and the bus bars 12 are provided on the electrode plates 40 and 41. It is easy to ensure electrical connection via the thermal fuse 4.
- the hole 40b is formed through the electrode plate 40, when the conductive portion 44 is melted, the melted heat-soluble material can be poured out from the hole 40b.
- the electrical junction box 1 is not limited to being mounted on a vehicle.
- the electrical junction box 1 may be configured to selectively distribute power from a power source to a plurality of loads.
- the thermal fuse 4 should just be cyclic
- the hole 40b may not be provided in the electrode plate, and a hole may be provided through the side surface of the insulating portion 42 or the insulating portion 43 so that the molten alloy melted out from the hole. At this time, by providing the hole in the lower part of the side surface (the bus bar 12 side part), the melted soluble alloy can be flowed out satisfactorily.
- the groove 40c may not be provided in the electrode plate 40.
- the insulating parts 42 and 43 are good also as only one either instead of two.
- the insulating portions 42 and 43 and the conductive portion 44 may be formed by a plurality of divisions separated in the circumferential direction, instead of a single continuous member.
- the thermal fuse 4 has an annular shape with no omission, but the thermal fuse 4 may have an annular shape with a partial omission such as a C-shape.
- the difference between the second embodiment and the first embodiment will be described. Since the configuration other than the configuration described below is the same as that of the first embodiment, the same reference numerals as those of the first embodiment are given to the components common to the first embodiment, and the description thereof is omitted.

Description

電極板40には、複数の孔40b(図では円上に等間隔に4個)が貫設されている。
6つのスイッチング素子32夫々は、例えばFET(Field Effect Transistor )である。
制御素子は、例えばMPU(Micro Processing Unit )等であり、各スイッチング素子32のオン/オフを切り替える。
