Abstract
Description
図1は、中空スタビライザ製造装置1の構成を模式的に示す図である。図1に示すように、中空スタビライザ製造装置1は、焼入れ装置2と、浸炭装置3と、を備えている。焼入れ装置2は、加熱装置4と、冷却槽5と、搬送装置6と、を備えている。浸炭装置3は、給気装置7と、排気装置8と、を備えている。
原料ガス供給源71は、浸炭性の有機化合物を含んだ原料ガスを供給する。原料ガス供給源71については図2を参照して後で説明する。キャリアガス供給源72は、例えばガスボンベであって、窒素やアルゴン等の不活性ガスを供給する。
原料ガス供給源71により気化された有機化合物の蒸気を含んだ不活性ガスは、原料ガスとして流量調整器73に供給され、不活性ガスで希釈されることにより所定のカーボンポテンシャル値の浸炭性ガスに調製される。
まず、ばね鋼材等から形成された素管を曲げ成形して、図1に一例を示すばね形状(トーションバー)の鋼管100を形成する(工程A:ベンディング)。ばね鋼材の種類は特に限定されないが、低炭素Mn-B鋼であって炭素濃度0.15~0.40質量%程度の鋼材を用いることができる。例えば、米国自動車技術者会の規定に準拠するSAE10B21、SAE15B26が挙げられる。その他にも、例えば、26MnB5、34MnB5が挙げられる。ばね鋼材の他の例として、例えば米国自動車技術者会の規定に準拠するSAE9254が挙げられる。さらに、JISに準拠するSUP7や、それ以外であってもよい。ばね鋼材のみに限られず、鋼種は高強度鋼や浸炭用鋼であってもよい。ベンディングは、例えば冷間加工で行う。なお、再結晶温度以上に加熱して熱間加工で成形してもよい。
鋼管100を焼戻して硬度を調整する(工程C:焼戻し)。歯車やカム軸等では通常250℃未満で焼戻すところ、本実施形態においては、スタビライザとして要求される靱性を確保するため、低温焼き戻し脆性の温度範囲を避けつつ歯車やカム軸等の条件よりもやや高温で焼き戻すことが好ましい。本実施形態に係る焼戻し温度の一例は、150~350℃である。
鋼管外面104に化成処理層を形成する(工程F:化成処理)。化成処理層は、例えばリン酸亜鉛等のリン酸塩により形成できる。
防錆性及び耐チッピング性を向上させるため、鋼管外面104を塗装する(工程G:塗装)。塗膜は、例えば粉体焼付塗装により形成できる。
以上のような工程を経て、素管が加工された中空スタビライザ100Eを完成させる。
まず、第1電極41及び第2電極42を鋼管100の一端101寄り及び他端102寄りにそれぞれクランプし、第1電極41及び第2電極42と鋼管100とを電気的に接続する。(手順B1)。鋼管100の一端101及び他端102に第1取付部材75及び第2取付部材82をそれぞれ装着する(手順B2)。なお、手順B1及び手順B2を逆順にしてもよい。
図8は、図7に示された浸炭及び焼入れ工程の変形例である。図8に示す変形例では、炭素を供給する原料ガス(アルコール蒸気やRXガス等)と、不活性ガスとの混合比を、時分割で変化させる。例えば、原料ガスの濃度が高い浸炭性ガスと、原料ガスの濃度が極めて低い実質的に不活性ガスのみの浸炭性ガスとを流量調整器73により切り替えて一定時間毎に交互に供給する。
図9に示す第3実施形態は、図8に示された浸炭及び焼入れ工程のさらに変形例である。第3実施形態では、所定温度(搬送後もオーステナイト化温度を保持できる温度)まで加熱して昇温させたのち、すぐに搬送せずに昇温後の温度を保持した状態で一定時間保持し、昇温保持の間も浸炭サイクルを繰り返す。
Claims (6)
- 車両用の中空スタビライザの製造方法であって、
成形された鋼管の一端及び他端に第1取付部材及び第2取付部材をそれぞれ装着し、
前記鋼管を加熱し、
前記第1取付部材を介して、加熱された前記鋼管の内部空間に浸炭性ガスを送り込むとともに、前記第2取付部材を介して前記内部空間から大気及び/又は余剰の前記浸炭性ガスを回収することにより、前記鋼管の内面を浸炭し、
加熱された前記鋼管を急冷することにより、前記鋼管を焼入れする、ことを特徴とする中空スタビライザ製造方法。 - 前記浸炭性ガスは、アルコール蒸気を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の中空スタビライザ製造方法。
- 前記鋼管の浸炭及び焼入れのためにする加熱は、前記鋼管の外面が大気に開放された状態で行う通電加熱であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の中空スタビライザ製造方法。
- 前記通電加熱は、前記鋼管の前記一端寄りに第1電極を接続するとともに前記他端寄りに第2電極を接続し、前記鋼管の全長のうちの前記第1電極と前記第2電極との間の部位を通電するものであって、
焼入れされた状態の前記鋼管は、前記第1電極と前記一端との間の部位、及び前記第2電極と前記他端との間の部位に通電されていない未加熱部をそれぞれ残しており、
前記未加熱部を塑性変形させることにより前記鋼管を車両に装着するための固定部を形成することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の中空スタビライザ製造方法。 - 前記鋼管の内面を浸炭した後であって前記鋼管を急冷する前に、浸炭された炭素を拡散させる拡散期を確保することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の中空スタビライザ製造方法。
- 車両用の中空スタビライザの内面の浸炭及び焼入れを連続して行う中空スタビライザ製造装置であって、
成形された鋼管の一端に装着される第1取付部材と、
前記鋼管の他端に装着される第2取付部材と、
前記第1取付部材を介して前記鋼管の内部空間に浸炭性ガスを送り込む給気装置と、
前記第2取付部材を介して前記内部空間から大気及び/又は余剰の前記浸炭性ガスを回収する排気装置と、
前記鋼管を加熱する加熱装置と、
前記鋼管を急冷する冷却槽と、
前記鋼管を前記加熱装置から前記冷却槽に搬送する搬送装置と、
を具備した中空スタビライザ製造装置。
