Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a hair growth agent characterized by combining a plurality of herbal extracts that promote the growth of cells involved in hair formation and synergistically enhancing the hair growth effect.
  • Ayurveda In treating intractable diseases or lifestyle-related diseases, the long-lived science “Ayurveda” of India 5,000 years is considered to be very useful. Ayurveda has tested a myriad of plant materials (hereinafter referred to as herbs) and combined them to address disease treatment and healthy longevity. The herbs used by Ayurveda have been supported by numerous clinical trials and provide a treasure trove of bioactive substances. Herbal materials exhibiting hair growth or hair growth effects are also known (Non-Patent Documents 1 to 5), and hair products combining herbs are also commercially available. Further, scientific verification has already begun on herb materials having physiological effects such as hair growth, including research by the inventors (Patent Documents 1 to 12). However, the most important combination of herbs that Ayurveda places most emphasis on has not been scientifically verified due to the difficulty of the experimental design and the scale of the experiment.

  • the inventor has conducted various physiological tests on many traditional herbs widely used by Ayurveda from the viewpoint of promoting cosmetic health. Using extracts of herbs that are said to have hair growth effects, we have examined the effects of promoting growth and stress resistance on hair matrix cells, dermal papilla cells, epidermal keratinocytes, and dermal fibroblasts involved in hair formation. It was. Some herbs showed significant growth promoting effects in these cell types. Some of these results are described in Patent Documents 1 to 12. In addition, even when these herbs were combined, a slight synergistic effect was observed in the proliferation test using a single cell type. Hair formation is a joint work of the above cell types, and hair growth tests using living bodies are inevitable.
