本明細書において、数値範囲が「~」のように表される場合、その数値範囲はその前後に記載される下限値及び上限値を含む範囲を意味する。
本明細書における化合物の表記において、「基(原子団)」は、置換及び無置換の記載のない表記は、無置換の基と共に置換基を有する基をも包含するものである。例えば「アルキル基」とは、置換基を有さないアルキル基(無置換アルキル基)のみならず、置換基を有するアルキル基(置換アルキル基)をも包含するものである。
また、本明細書における化学構造式は、水素原子を省略した簡略構造式で記載される場合もある。
なお、本明細書中において、“(メタ)アクリレート”はアクリレート及びメタクリレートを表し、“(メタ)アクリル”はアクリル及びメタクリルを表し、“(メタ)アクリロイル”はアクリロイル及びメタクリロイルを表す。
また、本開示において、「質量%」と「重量%」とは同義であり、「質量部」と「重量部」とは同義である。
本開示において、好ましい態様の2以上の組み合わせは、より好ましい態様である。
本開示のネガ型平版印刷版原版(以下、単に「平版印刷版原版」ともいう。)は、親水性表面を有する支持体上に、式1で表される構造を主鎖に有し、かつエチレン性不飽和結合を有する高分子化合物(以下、「特定高分子化合物」ともいう。)と、重合開始剤と、を含有する画像記録層を有する。
本開示における作用機構は明確ではないが、以下のように推定している。
本発明者らの検討により、本開示における特定高分子化合物は、高分子化合物間の相互作用の大きいアミド構造を有するため、高分子化合物間の相互作用が大きく、凝集性が非常に高くなり、印刷に用いられる薬品(クリーナーや有機化合物)に対し、耐性が極めて高く、かつ画像部の強度に優れ、高耐刷となると推定している。また、相互作用が非常に高く、凝集性が高いアミド結合を複数有するため、耐刷性に優れると推定している。
また、印刷汚れの残留防止性の向上については、詳細は不明であるが、本開示における特定高分子化合物が、上記式1で表される親水性の高い構造を主鎖に有し、かつエチレン性不飽和結合を有しており、これを重合することにより、効果が得られているものと推定している。
以下、本開示のネガ型平版印刷版原版について、詳細に説明する。
本開示のネガ型平版印刷版原版は、上記式1で表される構造を主鎖に有し、かつエチレン性不飽和結合を有する高分子化合物と、重合開始剤と、を含有する画像記録層を有する。上記画像記録層は、ネガ型の画像記録層である。
上記画像記録層は、上記式1で表される構造を主鎖に有し、かつエチレン性不飽和結合を有する高分子化合物(特定高分子化合物)を含有する。
式1におけるxは、1又は2であることが好ましく、1であることがより好ましい。上記態様であると、耐刷性及び耐薬品性により優れた平版印刷版を得ることができ、また、アルカリ水溶液現像性により優れる。
式1のR1における(x+2)価の芳香族炭化水素環基は、芳香族炭化水素環から(x+2)個の水素原子を除いた基であることが好ましい。
上記芳香族炭化水素環としては、特に制限はないが、ベンゼン環又はナフタレン環であることが好ましく、ベンゼン環であることがより好ましい。
また、上記芳香族炭化水素環は、芳香環上に置換基を有していてもよい。
置換基としては、アルキル基、アリール基、ハロゲン原子、アルコキシ基、アルコキシカルボニル基、アシル基等が挙げられる。また、上記置換基は、更に置換基により置換されていてもよいし、また、2以上の置換基が結合して環を形成していてもよい。また、置換基の炭素数は、0~20であることが好ましく、0~12であることがより好ましく、0~8であることが更に好ましい。
また、式1におけるアミド結合は、ウレア結合の一部ではないことが好ましく、ウレア結合及びウレタン結合の一部ではないことがより好ましい。
特定高分子化合物は、式1で表される構造を1種のみ有していても、2種以上有していてもよい。
また、特定高分子化合物は、下記式2で表される構造を有する高分子化合物であることが好ましい。上記態様であると、耐刷性及び耐薬品性により優れた平版印刷版を得ることができ、また、アルカリ水溶液現像性により優れる。
式2におけるyは、0又は1であることが好ましく、0であることがより好ましい。
式2におけるR2は、炭素数1~8のアルキル基又は炭素数6~12のアリール基であることが好ましい。
また、式2のベンゼン環上における式2以外の他の構造との結合位置は、特に制限はなく、アミド基のo位であっても、m位であっても、p位であってもよいが、m位又はp位であることが好ましく、p位であることがより好ましい。
また、式2におけるアミド結合は、ウレア結合の一部ではないことが好ましく、ウレア結合及びウレタン結合の一部ではないことがより好ましい。
また、特定高分子化合物は、下記式3で表される構造を有する高分子化合物であることがより好ましい。上記態様であると、式3におけるアミド基とヒドロキシ基とが脱水縮合して環化しベンゾオキサゾール環を形成することが可能であり、現像後のポストベーク等の熱等により環化してベンゾオキサゾール環を形成するため、耐刷性及び耐薬品性により優れた平版印刷版を得ることができる。
式3におけるR2は、炭素数1~8のアルキル基又は炭素数6~12のアリール基であることが好ましい。
また、式3のベンゼン環上における式3以外の構造との結合位置は、特に制限はないが、アミド基のp位又はヒドロキシ基のp位であることが好ましい。
また、式3におけるアミド結合は、ウレア結合の一部ではないことが好ましく、ウレア結合及びウレタン結合の一部ではないことがより好ましい。
上記カルボキシ化合物の等価体としては、カルボン酸ハライド化合物、及び、カルボン酸エステル化合物が好ましく挙げられる。
中でも、反応活性や反応速度の観点から、特定高分子化合物としては、2官能アミノ化合物と2官能カルボン酸ハライド化合物とを重縮合した樹脂であることが特に好ましい。
また、特定高分子化合物は、アルキレンオキシ基を主鎖に有する樹脂であることが好ましい。上記態様によれば、得られる平版印刷版の画像形成性及び耐刷性に優れた感光性樹脂組成物を得ることができる。
上記アルキレンオキシ基としては、炭素数2~10のアルキレンオキシ基が好ましく、炭素数2~8のアルキレンオキシ基がより好ましく、炭素数2~4のアルキレンオキシ基が更に好ましく、エチレンオキシ基、プロピレンオキシ基、又はイソプロピレンオキシ基が特に好ましい。
また、上記アルキレンオキシ基は、ポリアルキレンオキシ基であってもよい。
ポリアルキレンオキシ基としては、繰り返し数2~50のポリアルキレンオキシ基が好ましく、繰り返し数2~40のポリアルキレンオキシ基がより好ましく、繰り返し数2~30のポリアルキレンオキシ基が更に好ましい。
ポリアルキレンオキシ基の構成繰り返し単位の好ましい炭素数は、上記アルキレンオキシ基の好ましい炭素数と同様である。
なお、特定高分子化合物の末端構造は、重縮合反応停止時のクエンチ剤等にもよるが、水素原子、ヒドロキシ基、カルボキシル基、アミノ基、及び/又は、アルコキシ基が挙げられる。
また、特定高分子化合物は、式4で表される構成繰り返し単位を1種のみ有していても、2種以上有していてもよい。
式4におけるRA2及びxAは、式1におけるR1及びxとそれぞれ同義であり、好ましい態様もそれぞれ同様である。
また、式4におけるアミド結合は、ウレア結合の一部ではないことが好ましく、ウレア結合及びウレタン結合の一部ではないことがより好ましい。
式4におけるRA1は、式4における2つのカルボニル基と炭素原子で結合する二価の連結基であることが好ましく、アルキレン基、シクロアルキレン基、アリーレン基、又は、これらの基を2以上結合した基であることがより好ましく、アルキレン基、シクロアルキレン基、アリーレン基、又は、ビフェニレン基であることが更に好ましく、アルキレン基、又は、フェニレン基であることが更に好ましく、アルキレン基であることが特に好ましい。
上記アルキレン基、シクロアルキレン基、アリーレン基、及び、これらの基を2以上結合した基は、置換基を有していてもよいが、有しないことが好ましい。
置換基としては、アルキル基、アリール基、ハロゲン原子、アルコキシ基、アルコキシカルボニル基、アシル基等が挙げられる。また、上記置換基は、更に置換基により置換されていてもよいし、また、2以上の置換基が結合して環を形成していてもよい。また、置換基の炭素数は、0~20であることが好ましく、0~12であることがより好ましく、0~8であることが更に好ましい。
RA1の炭素数は、1~30であることが好ましく、3~20であることがより好ましい。
式4におけるRA3は、アルキレン基、シクロアルキレン基、芳香族炭化水素環基、又は、アルキレン基、シクロアルキレン基、芳香族炭化水素環基、カルボニル基、スルホニル基及びフルオレニル基よりなる群から選ばれた基と芳香族炭化水素環基とを結合した基であることが好ましく、芳香族炭化水素環基、又は、メチレン基、2,2-プロパンジイル基、ビストリフルオロメチルメチレン基、スルホニル基及びフルオレニル基よりなる群から選ばれた基と芳香族炭化水素環基とを結合した基であることがより好ましい。
上記アルキレン基、シクロアルキレン基、芳香族炭化水素環基、並びに、アルキレン基、シクロアルキレン基、芳香族炭化水素環基、カルボニル基、スルホニル基及びフルオレニル基よりなる群から選ばれた基と芳香族炭化水素環基とを結合した基は、置換基を有していてもよいが、有しないことが好ましい。
置換基としては、アルキル基、アリール基、ハロゲン原子、アルコキシ基、アルコキシカルボニル基、アシル基等が挙げられる。また、上記置換基は、更に置換基により置換されていてもよいし、また、2以上の置換基が結合して環を形成していてもよい。また、置換基の炭素数は、0~20であることが好ましく、0~12であることがより好ましく、0~8であることが更に好ましい。
また、RA3における芳香族炭化水素環基は、ヒドロキシ基を有する芳香族炭化水素環基であることが好ましく、1~4個のヒドロキシ基を有する芳香族炭化水素環基であることがより好ましく、1個のヒドロキシ基を有する芳香族炭化水素環基であることが特に好ましい。
式4-1~式4-6におけるX1及びX2はそれぞれ独立に、単結合、メチレン基又はカルボニル基であることが好ましく、単結合であることがより好ましい。
RA4~RA7におけるアルキル基は、置換基を有していてもよい。
置換基としては、ハロゲン原子、アルキル基、及び、アリール基が挙げられ、ハロゲン原子が好ましく挙げられ、フッ素原子がより好ましく挙げられる。
式4-1~式4-6におけるRA4~RA7はそれぞれ独立に、水素原子、メチル基又はトリフルオロメチル基であることが好ましく、メチル基又はトリフルオロメチル基であることがより好ましい。
また、RA4及びRA5は同じ基であることが好ましく、RA6及びRA7は同じ基であることが好ましい。
また、ジ酸ハライド化合物としては、ジカルボン酸ハライド化合物が好ましく挙げられる。ジカルボン酸クロリド化合物がより好ましく挙げられる。
更に、ジ酸ハライド化合物としては、脂肪族ジ酸ハライド化合物が好ましく挙げられる。
本開示に用いられる特定高分子化合物は、エチレン性不飽和結合を有し、エチレン性不飽和結合を有する構成単位を有することが好ましい。
特定高分子化合物におけるエチレン性不飽和結合は、主鎖に有していても、側鎖に有していてもよいが、側鎖に有していることが好ましい。
特定高分子化合物におけるエチレン性不飽和結合としては、特に制限はないが、アクリロイル基、メタクリロイル基及びアリル基よりなる群から選ばれた基であることが好ましく、アクリロイル基及びメタクリロイル基よりなる群から選ばれた基であることがより好ましい。
中でも、特定高分子化合物にエチレン性不飽和結合を導入する方法としては、原料として、側鎖にエチレン性不飽和基を含有するジアミン化合物を用いる方法が好適に挙げられる。
上記連結基としては、炭素数2~40の基が好ましく挙げられる。
また、上記連結基としては、アルキレン基、又は、1以上のアルキレン基とエーテル結合、カルボニル基、アミド基及びウレタン結合よりなる群から選ばれた1以上の基とが連結した基が好ましく挙げられる。
本開示に用いられる特性高分子化合物は、上記式1で表される構造、上記エチレン性不飽和基を有する構成単位、及び、上記ジ酸ハライド化合物由来の構成単位以外にも、その他の構成単位を有していてもよい。
特定高分子化合物におけるその他の構成単位を形成するために好適に得られるジアミン化合物を、以下に例示する。
なお、本開示における重量平均分子量や数平均分子量の測定は、ゲル浸透クロマトグラフィ(GPC)法を用いた標準ポリスチレン換算法により測定することが好ましい。本開示におけるゲル浸透クロマトグラフィ法による測定は、GPCカラムとしてポリスチレン架橋ゲルを充填したもの(TSKgel SuperAWM-H;東ソー(株)製)、GPC溶媒としてN-メチルピロリドン(リン酸、臭化リチウム各0.01mol/L)を用いて測定することが好ましい。
上記画像記録層中における特定高分子化合物の含有量は、画像記録層の全質量に対して、10~90質量%であることが好ましく、20~80質量%であることがより好ましく、30~70質量%であることが更に好ましい。含有量がこの範囲であると、現像した際のパターン形成性が良好となる。なお、感光性樹脂組成物の全固形分とは、溶剤などの揮発性成分を除いた量を表す。
上記画像記録層は、重合開始剤を含有する。
本開示に用いられる重合開始剤としては、光、熱あるいはその両方のエネルギーによりラジカルを発生し、重合性化合物の重合を開始、促進する化合物を用いることができる。具体的には、公知の熱重合開始剤、結合解離エネルギーの小さな結合を有する化合物、光重合開始剤などを使用することができる。
また、重合開始剤は、1種単独又は2種以上を併用して用いることができる。
ラジカル重合開始剤としては、例えば、(ア)有機ハロゲン化化合物、(イ)カルボニル化合物、(ウ)有機過酸化化合物、(エ)アゾ系重合開始剤、(オ)アジド化合物、(カ)メタロセン化合物、(キ)ヘキサアリールビイミダゾール化合物、(ク)有機ホウ酸化合物、(ケ)ジスルホン酸化合物、(コ)オキシムエステル化合物、(サ)オニウム塩化合物などが挙げられる。
本開示における重合開始剤としては、特に反応性、安定性の面から上記各化合物のうち、(キ)ヘキサアリールビイミダゾール化合物、(コ)オキシムエステル化合物、並びに、(サ)オニウム塩化合物に包含されるジアゾニウム塩、ヨードニウム塩、及び、スルホニウム塩が好適なものとして挙げられる。本開示においては、上記オニウム塩は酸発生剤ではなく、イオン性のラジカル重合開始剤として機能する。
ジアリールヨードニウム塩化合物又はトリアリールスルホニウム塩化合物としては、反応性、及び、安定性のバランスから、芳香環上に電子供与性基を有するジアリールヨードニウム塩化合物、又は、芳香環上に電子求引性基を有するトリアリールスルホニウム塩化合物が好ましく、芳香環上にアルコキシ基を2つ以上有するジアリールヨードニウム塩化合物がより好ましく、芳香環上にアルコキシ基を3つ以上有するジアリールヨードニウム塩化合物が特に好ましい。
また、重合開始剤としては、ヨードニウム塩化合物及びスルホニウム塩化合物を含むことが特に好ましい。
上記画像記録層における重合開始剤の含有量は、画像記録層の全質量に対して、0.1~50質量%であることが好ましく、0.5~30質量%であることがより好ましく、1~20質量%であることが特に好ましい。上記範囲であると、高感度な硬化性が得られ、良好な感度と印刷時の非画像部の良好な汚れにくさが得られる。
上記画像記録層は、重合性化合物を含有することが好ましい。
本開示に用いられる重合性化合物は、少なくとも1個のエチレン性不飽和基を有する重合性化合物であり、末端エチレン性不飽和基を少なくとも1個、好ましくは2個以上有する化合物から選ばれる。この様な化合物群は当該産業分野において広く知られるものであり、本開示においてはこれらを特に限定なく用いることができる。重合性化合物は、例えば、モノマー、プレポリマー、すなわち2量体、3量体及びオリゴマー、又はそれらの混合物、並びに、それらの共重合体などの化学的形態をもつ。
モノマー及びその共重合体の例としては、特開2008-107758号公報の段落0105~0119に記載のエチレン性不飽和二重結合を有する化合物が好適に用いられる。
本開示における重合性化合物は、上記式1で表される構造を有しない化合物であることが好ましい。
また、本開示における重合性化合物は、分子量5,000未満の化合物であることが好ましく、分子量2,000未満の化合物であることがより好ましく、分子量1,000未満の化合物であることがより好ましい。
上記画像記録層における重合性化合物の含有量は、画像記録層の全質量に対して、5~80質量%であることが好ましく、25~75質量%であることがより好ましい。
上記画像記録層は、増感色素を含有することが好ましい。
本開示に用いられる増感色素は、画像露光時の光を吸収して励起状態となり、上記重合開始剤に電子移動、エネルギー移動又は発熱などでエネルギーを供与し、重合開始機能を向上させるものであれば特に限定せず用いることができる。特に、300~600nm又は700~1,300nmに極大吸収波長を有する増感色素が好ましく用いられる。
このような増感色素の具体例としては、特開2007-58170号公報の段落0047~0053、特開2007-93866号公報の段落0036~0037、特開2007-72816号公報の段落0042~0047に記載の化合物が好ましく用いられる。
また、特開2006-189604号、特開2007-171406号、特開2007-206216号、特開2007-206217号、特開2007-225701号、特開2007-225702号、特開2007-316582号、特開2007-328243号の各公報に記載の増感色素も好ましく用いることができる。
本開示において、700~1,300nmの波長の赤外線を発するレーザーを光源とした露光が行われる場合には、増感色素として、これらの波長域に吸収極大を有する赤外線吸収剤が好ましく用いられる。
赤外線吸収剤は、吸収した赤外線を熱に変換する機能を有している。この際発生した熱により、ラジカル発生剤(重合開始剤)が熱分解し、ラジカルを発生する。
本開示において使用される赤外線吸収剤は、700~1,300nmに極大吸収波長を有する染料又は顔料が好ましい。赤外線吸収剤としては、特開2008-107758号公報の段落0123~0139に記載の赤外線吸収剤が好適に用いられる。
R61及びR62はそれぞれ独立に、炭素数1~12の炭化水素基を表す。感光性樹脂組成物の保存安定性から、R61及びR62は、炭素数2~12の炭化水素基であることが好ましく、また、R61及びR62が互いに結合して5員環又は6員環を形成していることが好ましい。
Ar61及びAr62は、それぞれ同じでも異なっていてもよく、置換基を有していてもよい芳香族炭化水素基を表す。好ましい芳香族炭化水素基としては、ベンゼン環及びナフタレン環が挙げられる。また、好ましい置換基としては、炭素数1~12の炭化水素基、ハロゲン原子、炭素数1~12のアルコキシ基が挙げられる。
Y61及びY62は、それぞれ同じでも異なっていてもよく、硫黄原子又は炭素数3~12のジアルキルメチレン基を表す。
R63及びR64は、それぞれ同じでも異なっていてもよく、置換基を有していてもよい炭素数1~20の炭化水素基を示す。好ましい置換基としては、炭素数1~12のアルコキシ基、カルボキシル基、スルホ基が挙げられる。
R65~R68は、それぞれ同じでも異なっていてもよく、水素原子又は炭素数1~12の炭化水素基を表す。原料の入手性から、好ましくは水素原子である。また、Za -は対アニオンを表す。ただし、式aで表されるシアニン色素がその構造内にアニオン性の置換基を有し、電荷の中和が必要ない場合は、Za -は必要ない。好ましいZa -は、感光性樹脂組成物の保存安定性から、ハロゲン化物イオン、過塩素酸イオン、テトラフルオロボレートイオン、ヘキサフルオロホスフェートイオン又はスルホン酸イオンであり、より好ましくは、過塩素酸イオン、ヘキサフルオロホスフェートイオン又はアレーンスルホン酸イオンである。
また、両末端のインドレニン部位に、電子求引性基又は重原子含有置換基を有するシアニン色素も好ましく、例えば、特開2002-278057号公報に記載のものが好適に用いられる。最も好ましくは、X61がジアリールアミノ基であり、両末端のインドレニン部位に電子求引性基を有するシアニン色素である。
上記画像記録層における増感色素の添加量は、画像記録層の全質量に対して、0.5~20質量%が好ましく、1.0~10質量%がより好ましい。この範囲において、露光による活性光線の吸収が効率良く行われ高感度化が達成されると共に、膜の均一性や強度に悪影響を与える懸念がない。
上記画像記録層には、更にその用途、製造方法等に対応してその他の成分を適宜添加することができる。
その他の成分としては、公知の添加剤を用いることができ、例えば、連鎖移動剤、溶剤、現像促進剤、親水性ポリマー、界面活性剤、焼き出し剤/着色剤、重合禁止剤、疎水性低分子化合物、無機粒子、有機粒子、共増感剤、可塑剤、塩基性化合物、及び、ワックス剤等が挙げられる。
以下、好ましい添加剤について説明する。
連鎖移動剤は、例えば高分子辞典第三版(高分子学会編、2005年)683-684頁に定義されている。連鎖移動剤としては、例えば、分子内にSH、PH、SiH、GeHを有する化合物群が用いられる。これらは、低活性のラジカル種に水素供与して、ラジカルを生成するか、又は、酸化された後、脱プロトンすることによりラジカルを生成し得る。
連鎖移動剤としては、特に、チオール化合物(例えば、2-メルカプトベンズイミダゾール類、2-メルカプトベンズチアゾール類、2-メルカプトベンズオキサゾール類、3-メルカプトトリアゾール類、5-メルカプトテトラゾール類等)を好ましく用いることができる。
上記画像記録層における連鎖移動剤の含有量は、画像記録層の全質量に対し、0.01~20質量%であることが好ましく、1~10質量%であることがより好ましく、1~5質量%であることが特に好ましい。
添加剤としては、現像性の促進や塗布面状の向上のための界面活性剤、現像性の向上やマイクロカプセルの分散安定性の向上のための親水性ポリマー、画像部と非画像部を視認するための着色剤や焼き出し剤、上記画像記録層の製造中又は保存中における重合性化合物の不要な熱重合を防止するための重合禁止剤、酸素による重合阻害を防止するための高級脂肪誘導体などの疎水性低分子化合物、画像部の硬化皮膜強度向上のための無機粒子、有機粒子、感度の向上のための共増感剤、可塑性の向上のための可塑剤等を挙げることができる。これの化合物はいずれも公知のもの、例えば、特開2007-206217号公報の段落0161~0215、特表2005-509192号公報の段落0067、特開2004-310000号公報の段落0023~0026及び0059~0066に記載の化合物を使用することができる。界面活性剤については、後述の現像液に添加してもよい界面活性剤を使用することもできる。
上記親水性ポリマーは、上記特定高分子化合物以外のポリマーであり、含有する場合、その含有量は、特定高分子化合物の含有量未満であることが好ましく、特定高分子化合物の含有量の1/2未満であることがより好ましい。
上記画像記録層は、上述した各成分を溶剤に溶解及び/又は分散して、適当な支持体上に塗布することにより形成することができる。
ここで使用する溶剤としては、エチレンジクロライド、シクロヘキサノン、メチルエチルケトン、メタノール、エタノール、プロパノール、エチレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、1-メトキシ-2-プロパノール、2-メトキシエチルアセテート、1-メトキシ-2-プロピルアセテート、ジメトキシエタン、乳酸メチル、乳酸エチル、N,N-ジメチルアセトアミド、N,N-ジメチルホルムアミド、テトラメチルウレア、N-メチルピロリドン、ジメチルスルホキシド、スルホラン、γ-ブチロラクトン、トルエン等を挙げることができるが、これに限定されるものではない。これらの溶剤は、単独又は混合して使用される。
塗布、乾燥後に得られる支持体上の画像記録層の塗布量(固形分)は、用途によって異なるが、0.3~3.0g/m2が好ましい。この範囲で、良好な感度と画像記録層の良好な皮膜特性が得られる。
本開示のネガ型平版印刷版原版は、親水性表面を有する支持体上に、上記画像記録層を有する。
本開示のネガ型平版印刷版原版における親水性表面を有する支持体としては、ポリエステルフィルム、アルミニウム板が挙げられる。その中でも、寸法安定性がよく、比較的安価であり、必要に応じた表面処理により親水性や強度に優れた表面を提供できるアルミニウム板が好ましい。また、特公昭48-18327号公報に記載されているようなポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルム上にアルミニウムシートが結合された複合体シートも好ましい。
アルミニウム支持体には、親水化処理が施されることが好ましい。親水化処理としては、特開2008-107758号公報の段落0252~0258に記載の表面処理が好ましく挙げられる。
また、本開示のネガ型平版印刷版原版は、画像記録層の上に保護層を好適に設けることができる。
本開示のネガ型平版印刷版原版は、支持体と画像記録層との間に、下塗り層を有することが好ましい。
下塗り層は、画像露光時に断熱層として機能することにより、赤外線レーザーなどによる露光により発生した熱が支持体に拡散せず、効率良く利用されることから感度の向上に寄与する。
下塗り層は、アルカリ可溶性ポリマーからなることが好ましい。アルカリ可溶性ポリマーを用いることにより、非画像部においてアルカリ可溶性ポリマーが、速やかに現像液に溶解、除去され現像性の向上に寄与する。
下塗り層塗布液には、本開示の効果を損なわない範囲で、任意成分として、例えば、燐酸、亜燐酸、塩酸、低分子有機スルホン酸などのpH調節剤、サポニンのような湿潤剤を加えることもできる。
本開示のネガ型平版印刷版原版には、露光時の重合反応を妨害する酸素の拡散侵入を遮断するため、上記画像記録層上に保護層(酸素遮断層)を設けることが好ましい。
上記保護層の材料としては、水溶性ポリマー、水不溶性ポリマーのいずれをも適宜選択して使用することができ、必要に応じて2種類以上を混合して使用することもできる。具体的には、例えば、ポリビニルアルコール、変性ポリビニルアルコール、ポリビニルピロリドン、水溶性セルロース誘導体、ポリ(メタ)アクリロニトリル等が挙げられる。これらの中で、比較的結晶性に優れた水溶性高分子化合物を用いることが好ましい。具体的には、ポリビニルアルコールを主成分として用いることが、酸素遮断性、現像除去性といった基本特性的に特に良好な結果を与える。
具体的には、(株)クラレ製のPVA-102、PVA-103、PVA-105、PVA-110、PVA-117、PVA-117H、PVA-120、PVA-124、PVA-124H、PVA-CS、PVA-CST、PVA-HC、PVA-203、PVA-204、PVA-205、PVA-210、PVA-217、PVA-220、PVA-224、PVA-235、PVA-217EE、PVA-217E、PVA-220E、PVA-224E、PVA-403、PVA-405、PVA-420、PVA-424H、PVA-505、PVA-617、PVA-613、PVA-706、L-8等が挙げられる。ポリビニルアルコールは1種単独又は2種以上混合して使用できる。ポリビニルアルコールの保護層中の含有量は、好ましくは20~95質量%、より好ましくは30~90質量%である。
上記保護層は、無機粒子(無機フィラー)や有機樹脂粒子(有機フィラー)を含有することが好ましく、有機樹脂粒子を含有することがより好ましい。
また、上記保護層は、増粘剤や高分子化合物等の添加剤を含有していてもよい。上記添加剤としては、公知のものを用いることができる。
上記保護層の塗布量は、0.05~10g/m2が好ましく、無機質の層状化合物を含有する場合には、0.1~5g/m2が更に好ましく、無機質の層状化合物を含有しない場合には、0.5~5g/m2が更に好ましい。
例えば、本開示のネガ型平版印刷版原版の支持体裏面には、必要に応じてバックコート層を有していてもよい。
バックコート層としては、公知のバックコート層を用いることができる。
本開示の平版印刷版の作製方法は、本開示のネガ型平版印刷版原版を用いた作製方法であり、本開示のネガ型平版印刷版原版を画像露光する露光工程、及び、露光された上記ネガ型平版印刷版の非露光部を現像液を用いて除去し現像する現像工程、をこの順で含む方法であることが好ましい。
また、本開示の平版印刷版の作製方法としては、例えば、本開示の平版印刷版原版をプレートセッター内にセットし、平版印刷版原版を1枚ずつ自動搬送した後に、700nm~1,300nmの波長で画像露光した後、実質的に加熱処理を経ることなく、搬送速度が1.25m/分以上の条件にて現像処理を行う方法が挙げられる。
以下に、画像露光及び現像処理について記載する。
本開示の平版印刷版の作製方法は、本開示のネガ型平版印刷版原版を画像露光する露光工程を含むことが好ましい。
画像露光に用いられる光源としては、300nm~1,400nmの波長の光を発光し得るものが好ましく挙げられ、700nm~1,300nmの波長の光を発光し得るものがより好ましく挙げられ、また、赤外線レーザーが好ましく挙げられる。本開示においては、700nm~1,300nmの波長の赤外線を放射する固体レーザー又は半導体レーザーにより画像露光されることが好ましい。レーザーの出力は100mW以上が好ましく、露光時間を短縮するため、マルチビームレーザデバイスを用いることが好ましい。また、1画素あたりの露光時間は20μ秒以内であることが好ましい。平版印刷版原版に照射されるエネルギーは10~300mJ/cm2であることが好ましい。上記範囲であると、画像記録層の硬化が十分に進行し、また、画像記録層のレーザーアブレーションによる損傷を抑制することができる。
本開示の平版印刷版の作製方法は、露光された上記ネガ型平版印刷版原版の非露光部を現像液を用いて除去し現像する現像工程を含むことが好ましい。
本開示に適用される現像処理では、現像液を用いて、画像記録層の非画像部(非露光部)を除去することが好ましい。
本開示においては、上述のように、現像処理における処理速度、すなわち、現像処理における平版印刷版原版の搬送速度(ライン速度)は、1.25m/分以上であることが好ましく、1.35m/分以上であることがより好ましい。搬送速度の上限値には、特に制限はないが、搬送の安定性の観点からは、3m/分以下であることが好ましい。
現像工程に使用される現像液は、pH6.0~13.5の水溶液が好ましく、pH8.5~13.5のアルカリ水溶液がより好ましい。
また、上記現像液は、界面活性剤を含むことが好ましい。界面活性剤は処理性の向上に寄与する。
上記現像液に用いられる界面活性剤は、アニオン性、ノニオン性、カチオン性、及び、両性の界面活性剤のいずれも用いることができるが、アニオン性、ノニオン性の界面活性剤が好ましい。
本開示における現像液に用いられる界面活性剤としては、特開2013-134341号公報の段落0128~0131に記載のものを使用することができる。
現像処理に好適に用いられる現像液としては、特開2008-107758号公報の段落0288~0309に記載の現像液が挙げられる。
現像処理された平版印刷版原版は、特開昭54-8002号、同55-115045号、同59-58431号等の各公報に記載されているように、水洗水、界面活性剤等を含有するリンス液、アラビアガムや澱粉誘導体等を含む不感脂化液で後処理される。本開示の平版印刷版原版の後処理にはこれらの処理を種々組み合わせて用いることができる。
現像後の加熱には非常に強い条件を利用することができる。上記現像後の加熱は、加熱温度が200~500℃の範囲で実施されることが好ましい。上記範囲であると、十分な画像強化作用が得られ、また、支持体の劣化及び画像部の熱分解等を抑制することができる。
また、印刷時、平版印刷版上の汚れ除去のため使用されるプレートクリーナーとしては、従来より知られているPS版用プレートクリーナーが好適に用いられる。例えば、マルチクリーナーCL-1、CL-2、CP、CN-4、CN、CG-1、PC-1、SR、IC(富士フイルム(株)製)等が挙げられる。
また、実施例で使用した高分子化合物PA-1~PA-19は、上述したPA-1~PA-19とそれぞれ同じものである。
<支持体の作製>
厚さ0.30mm、幅1,030mmのJIS A 1050アルミニウム板を用いて、以下に示す表面処理を行った。
表面処理は、以下の(a)~(f)の各種処理を連続的に行った。なお、各処理及び水洗の後にはニップローラで液切りを行った。
(a)アルミニウム板を苛性ソーダ濃度26質量%、アルミニウムイオン濃度6.5質量%、温度70℃の水溶液でエッチング処理を行い、アルミニウム板を5g/m2溶解した。その後水洗を行った。
(b)温度30℃の硝酸濃度1質量%水溶液(アルミニウムイオン0.5質量%含む。)で、スプレーによるデスマット処理を行い、その後水洗した。
(c)60Hzの交流電圧を用いて連続的に電気化学的な粗面化処理を行った。この時の電解液は、硝酸1質量%水溶液(アルミニウムイオン0.5質量%、アンモニウムイオン0.007質量%含む。)、温度30℃であった。交流電源は電流値がゼロからピークに達するまでの時間TPが2msec、duty比1:1、台形の矩形波交流を用いて、カーボン電極を対極として電気化学的な粗面化処理を行った。補助アノードにはフェライトを用いた。電流密度は電流のピーク値で25A/dm2、電気量はアルミニウム板が陽極時の電気量の総和で250C/cm2であった。補助陽極には電源から流れる電流の5%を分流させた。その後水洗を行った。
(d)アルミニウム板を苛性ソーダ濃度26質量%、アルミニウムイオン濃度6.5質量%の水溶液でスプレーによるエッチング処理を35℃で行い、アルミニウム板を0.2g/m2溶解し、前段の交流を用いて電気化学的な粗面化を行ったときに生成した水酸化アルミニウムを主体とするスマット成分の除去と、生成したピットのエッジ部分を溶解し、エッジ部分を滑らかにした。その後水洗した。
(e)温度60℃の硫酸濃度25質量%水溶液(アルミニウムイオンを0.5質量%含む。)で、スプレーによるデスマット処理を行い、その後スプレーによる水洗を行った。
(f)硫酸濃度170g/リットル(アルミニウムイオンを0.5質量%含む。)の水溶液中、温度33℃、電流密度が5A/dm2で、50秒間陽極酸化処理を行った。その後水洗を行った。この時の陽極酸化皮膜重量が2.7g/m2であった。このようにして得られたアルミニウム支持体の表面粗さRaは0.27μm(測定機器;東京精密(株)製サーフコム、蝕針先端径2μm)であった。
次に、このアルミニウム支持体裏面に下記下塗り層用塗布液をワイヤーバーにて塗布し、100℃10秒間乾燥した。塗布量は0.5g/m2であった。

次に、このアルミニウム支持体表面に下記下塗り層用塗布液をワイヤーバーにて塗布し、100℃10秒間乾燥した。塗布量は10mg/m2であった。

・下記構造の高分子化合物A(重量平均分子量:10,000):0.05部
・メタノール:27部
・イオン交換水:3部
下塗り層上に、下記組成の光重合性組成物を乾燥塗布質量が1.4g/m2となるように塗布し、125℃で34秒乾燥させ、画像記録層(感光層)を形成した。

・赤外線吸収剤(下記IR-1):0.038部
・重合開始剤A(下記S-1):0.061部
・重合開始剤B(表1記載の重合開始剤):0.094部
・連鎖移動剤(下記E-1):0.015部
・重合性化合物(下記M-1、新中村化学工業(株)製A-BPE-4):0.425部
・バインダーポリマーA(表1記載のポリマー):表1記載の量
・バインダーポリマーB(下記B-1):表1記載の量
・バインダーポリマーC(下記B-2):表1記載の量
・添加剤(下記A-1):0.079部
・重合禁止剤(下記Q-1):0.0012部
・エチルバイオレット(下記EV-1):0.021部
・フッ素系界面活性剤(メガファックF-780-F、大日本インキ化学工業(株)製、メチルイソブチルケトン(MIBK)30質量%溶液):0.0081部
・メチルエチルケトン:5.886部
・メタノール:2.733部
・1-メトキシ-2-プロパノール:5.886部
画像記録層表面に、合成雲母(ソマシフMEB-3L、3.2%水分散液、コープケミカル(株)製)、ポリビニルアルコール(ゴーセランCKS-50:ケン化度99モル%、重合度300、スルホン酸変性ポリビニルアルコール、日本合成化学工業(株)製)、界面活性剤A(日本エマルジョン(株)製、エマレックス710)及び界面活性剤B(アデカプルロニックP-84:旭電化工業(株)製)の混合水溶液(保護層用塗布液)をワイヤーバーで塗布し、温風式乾燥装置にて125℃で30秒間乾燥させた。この混合水溶液(保護層用塗布液)中の合成雲母(固形分)/ポリビニルアルコール/界面活性剤A/界面活性剤Bの含有量割合は、7.5/89/2/1.5(質量%)であり、塗布量は(乾燥後の被覆量)は0.5g/m2であった。
下部保護層表面に、有機フィラー(アートパールJ-7P、根上工業(株)製)、合成雲母(ソマシフMEB-3L、3.2%水分散液、コープケミカル(株)製)、ポリビニルアルコール(L-3266:ケン化度87モル%、重合度300、スルホン酸変性ポリビニルアルコール、日本合成化学工業(株)製)、増粘剤(セロゲンFS-B、第一工業製薬(株)製)、高分子化合物A(上記構造)及び界面活性剤(日本エマルジョン(株)製、エマレックス710)の混合水溶液(保護層用塗布液)をワイヤーバーで塗布し、温風式乾燥装置にて125℃で30秒間乾燥させた。この混合水溶液(保護層用塗布液)中の有機フィラー/合成雲母(固形分)/ポリビニルアルコール/増粘剤/高分子化合物A/界面活性剤の含有量割合は、4.7/2.8/67.4/18.6/2.3/4.2(質量%)であり、塗布量は(乾燥後の被覆量)は1.2g/m2であった。このように、下部保護層表面に上部保護層を形成して、実施例1~25及び比較例1~8の平版印刷版原版を得た。
(1)ノンバーニング耐刷性及び印刷汚れの残留防止性(印刷汚れ性)評価
作製された平版印刷版原版を、水冷式40W赤外線半導体レーザーを搭載したCreo社製Trendsetter3244VXにて、解像度175lpiの80%平網画像を、出力8W、外面ドラム回転数206rpm、版面エネルギー100mJ/cm2で露光した。露光後、水道水による水洗により保護層を除去した後、富士フイルム(株)製自動現像機LP-1310Newsを用い搬送速度(ライン速度)2m/分、現像温度30℃で現像処理した。なお、現像液は富士フイルム(株)製DH-Nの1:4水希釈液、現像補充液は富士フイルム(株)製「FCT-421」の1:1.4水希釈液、フィニッシャーは富士フイルム(株)製「GN-2K」の1:1水希釈液を用いた。そして、得られた平版印刷版を、小森コーポレーション(株)製印刷機リスロンを用いて、1万枚印刷する毎に、富士フイルム(株)製マルチクリーナーにより版材の表面からインクを拭き取る作業を繰り返しつつ印刷を行った。耐刷性の指標としては、(各実施例の刷了枚数)/(比較例1の刷了枚数)という相対評価を用いた。結果を表1に示す。また、耐刷性の評価時に、印刷汚れの残留防止性(強制経時前)として、非画像部のインキ汚れを目視で10段階評価した。更に、45℃75%RHで4日間保存し、強制経時を行った平版印刷版原版に対しても、同様の方法で印刷汚れの残留防止性(強制経時後)を評価した。数字が大きいほど耐汚れ性に優れることを示す。評価が8以上は実用的なレベルであり、評価6では許容される下限である。結果を表1に示す。
作製した平版印刷版原版を、上記耐刷性の評価と同様にして露光、現像及び印刷を行った。この際、5,000枚印刷する毎に、クリーナー(富士フイルム(株)製、マルチクリーナー)で版面を拭く工程を加え、耐薬品性を評価した。この時の耐刷性が、上述の耐刷枚数の95%以上100%以下であるものを4、80%以上95%未満であるものを3、60%以上80%未満であるものを2、60%未満であるものを1とした。クリーナーで版面を拭く工程を加えた場合であっても、耐刷枚数に変化が小さいほど耐薬品性に優れるものと評価する。結果を以下の表1に示す。
作製した平版印刷版原版を、25℃65%RH環境下で梱包し、70℃、72時間保管後、上記耐刷性の評価と同様にして露光、現像及び印刷を行った。非画像部を、マクベス反射濃度計RD-918を使用し、濃度計に装備されている赤フィルターを用いてシアン濃度を測定し、経時させる前の版と経時後の版との変化を観察した。
経時前後における濃度変化の度合いにより、下記の尺度で評価した。
5:濃度差が0.01未満
4:濃度差が0.01以上0.03未満
3:濃度差が0.03以上0.05未満
2:濃度差が0.05以上0.08未満
1:濃度差が0.08以上

- 前記式1におけるアミド結合が、ウレア結合の一部ではない、請求項1に記載のネガ型平版印刷版原版。
- 前記RA1が、前記式4における2つのカルボニル基と炭素原子で結合する二価の連結基である、請求項5に記載のネガ型平版印刷版原版。
- 前記画像記録層が、700~1,300nmに極大吸収波長を有する増感色素を更に含有する、請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載のネガ型平版印刷版原版。
- 前記画像記録層が、300~600nmに極大吸収波長を有する増感色素を更に含有する、請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載のネガ型平版印刷版原版。
- 前記画像記録層が、重合性化合物を更に含有する、請求項1~8のいずれか1項に記載のネガ型平版印刷版原版。
- 前記高分子化合物が、ポリアミド樹脂である、請求項1~9のいずれか1項に記載のネガ型平版印刷版原版。
- 前記重合開始剤が、光ラジカル重合開始剤である、請求項1~10のいずれか1項に記載のネガ型平版印刷版原版。
- 前記重合開始剤が、オニウム塩化合物である、請求項1~11のいずれか1項に記載のネガ型平版印刷版原版。
- 前記支持体と前記画像記録層との間に、下塗り層を有する、請求項1~12のいずれか1項に記載のネガ型平版印刷版原版。
- 前記画像記録層上に、保護層を有する、請求項1~13のいずれか1項に記載のネガ型平版印刷版原版。
- 請求項1~14のいずれか1項に記載のネガ型平版印刷版原版を画像露光する露光工程、及び、露光された前記ネガ型平版印刷版原版の非露光部を現像液を用いて除去し現像する現像工程、をこの順で含む平版印刷版の作製方法。
