L'invention concerne un dispositif d'accouplement (1) et un procédé d'accouplement destinés à une liaison détachable de cordes de harnais (2,3). Le dispositif d'accouplement (1) présente des éléments d'accouplement (4, 5) de type douille et axe aptes à être assemblés, lesdits éléments d'accouplement étant pourvus d'une zone de liaison (6) et d'un dispositif de verrouillage (7) détachable doté d'éléments de verrouillage (8,9), ainsi qu'un moyen de détachement (12) de type douille qui, en position couplée, est accessible de l'extérieur et actionnable manuellement, ledit moyen de détachement étant monté mobile sur l'élément d'accouplement (5) de type axe. Un élément de verrouillage (8) élastiquement expansible est disposé sur l'élément d'accouplement (4) de type douille, le moyen de détachement (12) agissant, en cas d'actionnement sur l'élément de verrouillage (8), de manière à se détacher et à chasser ce dernier.
