多芯ケーブルは、複数本の電線を絶縁樹脂材料からなるシースで被覆した構造であって、従来、多芯ケーブルの端末部分のシール構造(止水構造)として、特開2012-182924号公報(下記特許文献1)に記載のものが知られている。このものは、多芯ケーブルに端末処理を施すことにより、シースの端末から各電線が分岐して引き出された形態とされ、引き出された電線群に対して各電線間を仕切る仕切壁を備えたホットメルトブロックが組み付けられるとともに、電線群からシースの端末の外周に亘って熱収縮チューブが被せられる。その後、加熱処理を行って、ホットメルトブロックを溶融させて電線間に充填させることにより電線間を止水するとともに、熱収縮チューブを熱収縮させて電線群からシースの端末の外周を止水するようになっている。
従来のシール構造では、特にホットメルト樹脂を加熱溶融しその後に冷却固化するために時間が掛かり、作業効率を考慮した場合に必ずしも満足できるものとは言えなかった。

多芯ケーブル10は、上記のように4芯の丸ケーブルであって、4本の電線11(適宜に電線群14という)が絶縁樹脂製のシース15で包囲された構造である。電線11は、金属製の芯線12の回りを合成樹脂製の絶縁被覆13で覆った被覆電線であって(図4参照)、外径を大小異にする2種類の電線11L,11Sが2本ずつ備えられている。大径の2本の第1電線11Lは、電気パーキングブレーキ用のモータに接続される接続線として機能し、小径の2本の第2電線11Sは、アンチロックブレーキシステムのセンサ用の信号線として機能するようになっている。
多芯ケーブル10の端末部は、皮剥ぎ等の所定の端末処理が施されることにより、シース15の端末15A(図6参照)から4本の電線11L,11Sが分岐した形態で導出された構造とされ、係る構造の多芯ケーブル10の端末部に、ゴム栓20が装着されるようになっている。
ゴム栓20は、図2,図6及び図7に示すように、多芯ケーブル10よりも所定寸法大きい外径寸法を持った横長の円柱状に形成されている。
ゴム栓20の後部側(図6の右側)における所定長さ領域(全長の略2/3)には、後面開口の円筒状をなすシース外嵌部21が形成され、同シース外嵌部21は、シース15の端末15Aの外周に略緊密に嵌合可能となっている。

一方、ゴム栓20における残りの前端部には、中実状の電線貫通部23が形成されている。この電線貫通部23には、図5から図7に示すように、大径の第1電線11Lまたは小径の第2電線11Sを個別に略緊密に貫通する第1貫通孔25Lと第2貫通孔25Sとが2個ずつ形成されている。
第1貫通孔25Lと第2貫通孔25Sの形成位置については、図5に示すように、電線貫通部23の径方向の中心線(縦線)を挟んだ概ね一側の領域に、2個の第1貫通孔25Lが所定間隔を開けて縦に並んで形成され、他側に2個の第2貫通孔25Sが所定間隔を開けて縦に並んで形成されている。
第1貫通孔25Lと第2貫通孔25Sの形成位置については、図5に示すように、電線貫通部23の径方向の中心線(縦線)を挟んだ概ね一側の領域に、2個の第1貫通孔25Lが所定間隔を開けて縦に並んで形成され、他側に2個の第2貫通孔25Sが所定間隔を開けて縦に並んで形成されている。
また、シール構造が施された多芯ケーブル10の端末部を、車両の所定位置に取り付けるべくブラケット30が備えられている。このブラケット30は、ばね鋼板等の弾力性を有する金属板をプレス加工することにより、図1から図3に示すような形状に形成されている。
ブラケット30は、取付孔32(ボルト挿通孔)が開口された取付基板31を備え、同取付基板31の先端側の周縁(上縁)から、2個の締付リング35(締付部材の一例)が二股状に突出して形成されている。

締付リング35は、シース外嵌部21に装着されるシース外嵌部用締付リング35Aと、電線貫通部23に装着される電線貫通部用締付リング35Bと、を有する。締付リング35は、取付基板31の上縁から互いに平行に延出形成された帯状片34の先端が、基端側に向けて折り返すように回曲されることにより、ゴム栓20の外径よりも若干小さい径寸法を有する断面C形に形成されている。帯状片34の折り返された先端と基端との間には、ゴム栓20(シース外嵌部21と電線貫通部23)を径方向に挿通可能な軸方向を向いた挿通溝36が形成されている。締付リング35(帯状片34)の先端には、斜め外方に開いた形態でガイド部37が形成されている。
すなわちブラケット30は、上記した同一形状になる2個の締付リング35が、同一軸線上において所定間隔を開けた形態で、取付基板31の周縁(上縁)から二股状に突出して配された形状となっている。なお、取付基板31における締付リング35を設けた側とは反対側の周縁(下縁)には、連れ回り防止用のL形をなす回り止め片39が突出形成されている。
続いて、本実施形態に係る組付手順の一例を説明する。
まず、多芯ケーブル10の端末処理を行い、すなわちシース15を所定長皮剥ぎして、残ったシース15の端末15Aから4本の電線11L,11Sが適宜にばらけた形態で導出された状態とする。

この状態から各第1電線11L,第2電線11Sの端末を、ゴム栓20のシース外嵌部21の内部に後方から入れて、電線貫通部23に形成された対応する第1貫通孔25L、第2貫通孔25Sに挿入し、電線貫通部23の前面から前方に押し出す。続いて、押し出された各電線11L,11Sを前方に引っ張りつつ、シース15の端末15Aを、シース外嵌部21内に挿入する。図6及び図7に示すように、シース15の端末15Aが、シース外嵌部21内の奥面近くに達したところで、電線11L,11Sの引っ張り並びにシース15の端末15Aの押し込みが停止される。これにより、多芯ケーブル10の端末部にゴム栓20が装着された状態となる。
続いて、上記のように多芯ケーブル10の端末部に装着されたゴム栓20が、ブラケット30に対して装着される。具体的には、ブラケット30の取付基板31上にゴム栓20が当てられたのち、前後の両締付リング35に向けて押し込まれる。ゴム栓20におけるシース外嵌部21の後端寄りの位置と、電線貫通部23とが、対応する締付リング35のガイド部37に当たったのちさらに押されると、挿通溝36を開くように締付リング35を弾性的に拡径変形させつつその内部に押し込まれる。
押し込みが進んで挿通溝36を通過すると、図4及び図5に示すように、締付リング35が復元弾力により縮径変形し、シース外嵌部21の後端寄りの位置と、電線貫通部23とが、対応する締付リング35によりほぼ全周に亘って外周側から締め付けられる。これにより、シース外嵌部21の内周面がシース15の端末15Aの外周面の全周に亘り所定の接触圧を以て密着し、また、電線貫通部23の各貫通孔25L,25Sの内周面が各電線11L,11Sの外周面の全周に亘り所定の接触圧を以て密着し、結果、シース15の端末15Aと各電線11L,11Sの回りのシールとが併せて採られる。
このようにゴム栓20が装着されたブラケット30が、車両に設定された取付位置に配され、取付孔32に通したボルト(図示せず)をねじ込むことで固定される。これにより、シール構造が構築された多芯ケーブル10の端末部が、車両に設定された所定の取付位置に取り付けられることになる。
本実施形態によれば、以下のような作用効果を得ることができる。多芯ケーブル10のシース15の端末15Aに、ゴム栓20のシース外嵌部21が外嵌されるとともに、シース15の端末15Aから延出された各電線11L,11Sが、同ゴム栓20の電線貫通部23の貫通孔25L,25Sに貫通され、そののちシース外嵌部21と電線貫通部23とが、ブラケット30に設けられた締付リング35で外周側から締め付けられる。これにより、シース外嵌部21の内周面がシース15の端末15Aの外周面の全周に亘り所定の接触圧を以て密着し、また、電線貫通部23の各貫通孔25L,25Sの内周面が各電線11L,11Sの外周面の全周に亘り所定の接触圧を以て密着し、結果、シース15の端末15Aと各電線11回りのシールとが併せて採られる。
ゴム栓20と締付リング35を用いた組み立て形式としたから、例えば従来のホットメルト樹脂を使用したものと比べて短時間でシール構造が構築でき、ひいては製造コストの低減を図ることができる。特に、ゴム栓20のシース外嵌部21と電線貫通部23とを締付リング35で後から締め付けるようにしたから、シース15の端末15Aをシース外嵌部21に、また電線11を電線貫通部23の貫通孔25L,25Sに挿通するに当たっては低挿通力に留めることができながらも、最終的には高接触圧で密着させることができて、高いシール機能を果たすことができる。
シース外嵌部用締付リング35Aと、電線貫通部用締付リング35Bとを、車両に取り付けられるブラケット30に一体的に設けたから、部品点数の削減が図れ、また各締付リング35A,35Bをゴム栓20(シース外嵌部21,電線貫通部23)に嵌着する動作も簡単となる。
特に、多芯ケーブル10の端末部の取付箇所を特定するブラケット30を利用してシール構造を構築するようにしたから、多芯ケーブル10の配線構造をよりすっきりと纏めることができる。

締付リング35は、軸方向に沿った挿通溝36を備えて径方向に弾性変位可能な断面C形に形成されている。そのため各締付リング35は、シース外嵌部21と電線貫通部23とを挿通溝36を介して径方向に挿通しつつ、シース外嵌部21と電線貫通部23とに外嵌できる。すなわち、締付リング35の嵌着動作を簡単に行うことができる。
<他の実施形態>
本明細書によって開示される技術は上記記述及び図面によって説明した実施形態に限定されるものではなく、次のようなものも技術的範囲に含まれる。
(1)上記実施形態に例示した組付手順はあくまでも一例であって、例えば先に車両にブラケットを取り付けておいて、後から多芯ケーブルの端末部に装着したゴム栓を締付リングに対して装着する等、他の手順を踏んでもよい。
(2)締付部材は、シース外嵌部用締付部材と電線貫通部用締付部材とが互いに別体として備えられていてもよい。
本明細書によって開示される技術は上記記述及び図面によって説明した実施形態に限定されるものではなく、次のようなものも技術的範囲に含まれる。
(1)上記実施形態に例示した組付手順はあくまでも一例であって、例えば先に車両にブラケットを取り付けておいて、後から多芯ケーブルの端末部に装着したゴム栓を締付リングに対して装着する等、他の手順を踏んでもよい。
(2)締付部材は、シース外嵌部用締付部材と電線貫通部用締付部材とが互いに別体として備えられていてもよい。
(3)シース外嵌部用締付部材と電線貫通部用締付部材とが一体的に設けられている一例として、断面C形をなす細長い筒体の両端部に、シース外嵌部用と電線貫通部用の締付リングをそれぞれ形成した構造であってもよい。
(4)締付部材は、ブラケットとは別体として備えられていてもよい。
(5)締付部材としては、ボルトを備えて同ボルトを締め付けることで縮径させる構造のもの等、他の構造のものであってもよい。

(6)多芯ケーブルに配される電線は、上記実施形態に例示した4本に限らず、2本以上の任意の複数本であってもよい。

(8)電線を構成する被覆電線としては、複数の金属細線が撚り合わされた撚り線を芯線としたものや、金属棒材を芯線とするいわゆる単芯線が挙げられる。また、電線がシールド電線であってもよい。
(7)上記実施形態では、外径が異なる2種類の電線を備えた場合を例示したが、3種類以上の電線を備えていてもよく、また単一種の電線を備えたものであってもよい。
(8)電線を構成する被覆電線としては、複数の金属細線が撚り合わされた撚り線を芯線としたものや、金属棒材を芯線とするいわゆる単芯線が挙げられる。また、電線がシールド電線であってもよい。
(9)多芯ケーブルとして、シース内に充填物が充填されたものであってもよい。
(10)多芯ケーブルはいわゆるキャブタイヤケーブルであってもよく、また、複数の電線の外周がシールド層で包囲された多芯のシールド電線であってもよい。

- 複数の電線がシースで包囲されるとともに、前記シースの端末から前記複数の電線が延出された多芯ケーブルと、
前記シースの端末に外嵌されるシース外嵌部と、各前記電線をそれぞれ貫通する複数の貫通孔を有する電線貫通部とを設けたゴム栓と、
前記ゴム栓における前記シース外嵌部と前記電線貫通部とに装着されて外周側から締め付け可能な締付部材と、
が具備された多芯ケーブルのシール構造。 - 前記締付部材は、前記シース外嵌部に装着されるシース外嵌部用締付部材と、前記電線貫通部に装着される電線貫通部用締付部材と、を有し、
前記シース外嵌部用締付部材と、前記電線貫通部用締付部材とが、一体的に設けられている請求項1に記載の多芯ケーブルのシール構造。 - 前記締付部材が車両に取り付けられるブラケットに設けられている請求項1または請求項2に記載の多芯ケーブルのシール構造。
- 前記締付部材が、軸方向に沿った挿通溝を備えて径方向に弾性変位可能なC形の締付リングにより形成されている請求項1から請求項3のいずれか一項に記載の多芯ケーブルのシール構造。
