Description
上記課題を解決する記録装置は、その本体ハウジングの内部に設けられてターゲットに対し液体を噴射する液体噴射ヘッドと、本体ハウジングの外部に設けられる液体収容部と、を備える。更に、記録装置は、液体収容部に一端部側が接続される第1の液体供給チューブと、液体噴射ヘッド側に一端部側が接続される第2の液体供給チューブと、第1の液体供給チューブ及び第2の液体供給チューブの他端部側同士を接続する接続部材と、を備える。そして、上記接続部材は、第1の液体供給チューブ側に設けられる第1接続部、及び、第2の液体供給チューブ側に設けられる第2接続部によって構成される。更に、上記接続部材の少なくとも第1接続部は、本体ハウジングの外部に位置するよう設ける。
以下、記録装置をインクジェット式プリンターに具体化した第1実施形態について、図1~図7を参照して説明する。
本体ハウジング12の内部には、液体噴射ヘッド14に供給されるインクを貯留しておくサブタンクとしての機能を有する中継器26が設けられている。中継器26は、ブラックインク、シアンインク、マゼンタインク、及びイエローインクをそれぞれ別々に貯留することが可能であり、それらインクに対応する複数の中継チューブ27~30を介して液体噴射ヘッド14に繋がっている。
図4~図7は、収容ケース21,25が取り付けられた本体ハウジング12を示す斜視図、同本体ハウジング12を示す正面図、同本体ハウジング12を示す左側面図、及び同本体ハウジング12を示す左側面図である。
記録装置11における本体ハウジング12の内部にある液体噴射ヘッド14等の機器をメンテナンスする際、本体ハウジング12の外部に取り付けられた収容ケース21(インクタンク20)及び収容ケース25(インクタンク22~24)が、同本体ハウジング12から取り外される。

図8(a)及び(b)に示すように、この実施形態の記録装置11における液体収容ユニット18では、第1の液体供給チューブ31の一端部側がポンプユニット62を介してインクタンク20に繋がっている。また、液体収容ユニット19では、第1の液体供給チューブ34~36の一端部側がポンプユニット63を介してインクタンク22~24に繋がっている。
(4)記録装置11において、電源オンの状態のもと、誤って第1接続部43と第2接続部44との接続が解除される可能性がある。このとき、制御部15は、検知器64を用いて第1接続部43と第2接続部44との接続が解除されたことを検知し、そのことに基づいて遮断処理を実行する。この遮断処理では、インクタンク20,22~25側から液体噴射ヘッド14側へのインクの流れが遮断されるよう、ポンプユニット62及びポンプユニット63が動作される。従って、第1接続部43と第2接続部44との接続が誤って解除された状態のもと、インクタンク20,22~25側から液体噴射ヘッド14側にインクが流されることを回避できる。
なお、上記各実施形態は、例えば以下のように変更することもできる。
・図11に示すように、接続部材33,40~42の第1接続部43と第2接続部44とのうち、第1接続部43のみが本体ハウジング12の外部に位置するよう、接続部材33,40~42を設けてもよい。
・第1接続部43の開口及び第2接続部44の開口を封止する弁機構に代えて、それらの開口をキャップ等の封止部材で封止するようにしてもよい。この場合、上記封止部材は、第1の液体供給チューブ31,34~36及び第2の液体供給チューブ32,37~39における接続部材33,40~42の周りに設けておき、作業者が手作業によって第1接続部43の開口及び第2接続部の開口に対し取り付けたり取り外したりできるようにすることが考えられる。
・第2実施形態において、検知器64における端子部67と電導体68との位置関係を逆にしてもよい。

前記第1の液体供給チューブ及び前記第2の液体供給チューブの他端部側同士を接続する接続部材と、を備え、
前記接続部材は、前記第1の液体供給チューブ側に設けられる第1接続部、及び、前記第2の液体供給チューブ側に設けられる第2接続部によって構成されており、
前記接続部材の少なくとも第1接続部は、前記接続部材における少なくとも第1接続部は、前記本体ハウジングの外部に設けられた前記収容ケースの内部に位置していることを特徴とする記録装置。 - 本体ハウジングと、
前記本体ハウジングの内部に設けられてターゲットに対し液体を噴射する液体噴射ヘッドと、

前記接続部材の少なくとも第1接続部は、前記本体ハウジングの外部で、前記収容ケースの外部に位置していることを特徴とするの記録装置。 - 前記本体ハウジングには前記接続部材における少なくとも第1接続部を前記収容ケース内に露出させる開口が形成されており、その開口の位置が前記収容ケースのカバーを取り外したときに前記開口が同ケース外に向けて露出する位置に設定されている請求項1または請求項2記載の記録装置。
