- thermal bulbs which are closed on both sides, tube-like glass jars, which are filled with a thermal tripping liquid, which upon reaching or exceeding a predetermined release temperature in extends a way that they can burst by the pressure built up the wall of the glass vessel, so that destroys the thermal release element and causes a release of the valve.
- a similar thermal tripping element as part of a valve arrangement is shown in DE 199 11 530 C2, wherein in one exemplary embodiment, as shown in FIG. 4, the tripping valve has a perforation element in the form of a hollow needle, which hollow needle is arranged on a tripping part is.
- the triggering part is held by a thermal triggering element, again a so-called thermal bulb, in a standby position, is biased by a coil spring in the direction of a release position in which it moves and thereby drives the hollow needle when the thermal release element triggers (the Thermo -Bulb shattered).
- the hollow needle perforates and pierces a sealing membrane, which closes an overflow channel.
- the thermal release valve shown here is described in connection with use as a safety valve for a pressurized gas container, which releases an emergency opening for discharging the compressed gas in the event of a triggering temperature exceeding a critical level in order to supply the container which is under pressure and filled with a possibly combustible gas relieve and thus avert a fire or explosion hazard.
- the valve shown in DE 199 11 530 C2 can also be thought of as a triggering valve for a fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device in which a compressed extinguishing medium is present in the overflow channel instead of a pressurized combustible compressed gas.
- EP 2 332 616 A1 describes a further possibility for the fire protection of electrical appliances.
- a reservoir or storage container for an extinguishing medium is integrated in a housing part, wherein the storage container is designed so that it releases openings when a critical temperature is exceeded, e.g. by melting corresponding material of a wall, through which opening the extinguishing agent disposed in the reservoir, e.g. C6-fluoroketone is released.
- No. 7,703,640 B1 describes a thermally triggered discharge valve which is placed on pressurized gas containers in order to open them when they are overheated, thereby discharging the gas contained in the container and preventing bursting of the gas container.
- a fire extinguishing or fire protection device is not disclosed in this document.
- object of the invention Specify here a corresponding fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device, object of the invention.
- object of the invention it is the object of the invention to provide a passively thermally controlled release valve suitable for use in such a fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device.
- the invention thus provides a novel fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device, which is formed according to the invention from a pressure vessel filled with a pressurized extinguishing medium and a passively thermally controlled release valve.
- the pressure vessel in this case has an outlet opening which is closed with a perforatable by a perforation closure element such that the pressurized extinguishing medium is retained in the pressure vessel.
- a closure element may e.g. a sealing membrane, a sealing foil, a bursting disc or the like.
- this closure element on the one hand ensures a retention of the extinguishing medium safe and on the other hand designed in its structure and property such that it can be perforated by the perforation, so as to open the outlet opening and allow leakage of the extinguishing medium.
- the passively thermally controlled release valve is placed directly on the outlet opening, ie. This is important because only in this way can be achieved that the fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device according to the invention of the desired compact and space-saving design and thus as a self-sufficient unit for fire safety in even small-sized compartments and components, eg can be integrated in housed electronics components.
- the trigger valve is passively thermally controlled, meaning that there is no need for an active trigger control, as e.g. is required for corresponding sensors that must transmit sensor signals that must be received by a corresponding receiver and possibly even still be evaluated.
- passively thermally controlled in this context means that the trigger valve does not need its own power supply, as a whole is independent of an externally applied operating voltage or operating power supply.
- thermal tripping elements may e.g.
- thermal bulbs so generally glass vessels that completely surround an interior and in which the interior is filled with a triggering liquid, which upon reaching a predetermined release temperature due to thermal expansion and thus accompanying pressure development bring the wall of the glass vessel to bursting and thus irreversibly destroy the thermal tripping element.
- the perforation element which belongs to the trigger valve, is held in the fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device according to the invention in a standby position, this being done by the thermal tripping element.
- the perforation element is further biased towards a release position, e.g. can be done by a corresponding spring or another, comparatively acting clamping means.
- the release position is such that the perforation element, when it reaches this perforated the closure element and thus opens the outlet opening, so that the pressurized extinguishing medium flow out of the interior of the pressure vessel and can provide the extinguishing effect.
- the design of the trigger valve is such that at a caused by reaching a predetermined release temperature triggering this valve (by virtue of a response of the thermal trigger element), the perforation element is released and driven by the in the standby position on him biasing bias moves into the release position.
- the fire hazard Define sections or components.
- the filled into the internal volume of the extinguishing medium is dimensioned such that it is sufficient in the volume in which the fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device is used, with the appropriate effectiveness to prevent fire or extinguish an already created local fire, on the other hand, damage to adjacent areas is avoided by the fact that not excessively extinguishing medium is released.
- An extinguishing gas is preferably used as the extinguishing medium, since it can be compressed to a high degree, so that a small accumulation volume for the extinguishing gas when triggered guarantees a sufficiently large displacement volume for the extinguishing effect.
- the quenching gas in the pressure vessel in particular also be liquefied, so that an even more effective increase in volume is possible.
- the extinguishing gas is particularly advantageously an oxygen-binding and / or oxygen-displacing extinguishing gas.
- other pressurized extinguishing media may also be used here, e.g. a mixture of a propellant and a e.g.
- a corresponding extinguishing gas for example an electrically operated household appliance, such as e.g. a clothes dryer, a washing machine, a dishwasher or the like., Are not affected, when the fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device according to the invention triggers.
- a correspondingly equipped larger device can be easily recovered by reducing the component affected by the fire, e.g. an electronic Wegeel with housing enclosure, exchanged and replaced with a new, preferably again secured with a fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device according to the invention, component.
- the trigger valve of the fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device in one possible embodiment, a connected to the outlet opening media guide channel and also distribution openings for the extinguishing medium by means of which a distribution of the extinguishing medium takes place in the event of triggering.
- the media guide channel then passes the emerging from the outlet opening extinguishing medium into the interior of the trigger valve to the distribution openings, which may be e.g. can act around distributor nozzles, so that a targeted distribution of the extinguishing medium can take place in the case of triggering.
- the distribution openings can be designed and arranged depending on the local conditions, so that a distribution of the extinguishing medium takes place in such a way that it can be delivered directly and in the shortest possible paths and quickly towards fire-prone areas.
- the pressure vessel of the fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device according to the invention in the region of the outlet opening have a first screw and the trigger valve in a connecting portion may have a complementary to the first screw second screw thread, so that to form the fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device of the pressure vessel and the trigger valve are connected by screwing first and second screw thread.
- first screw thread an external thread
- second screw thread be an internal thread.
- This variant allows for easy installation of the fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device according to the invention, wherein first the pressure vessel is filled with the extinguishing medium and closed by the closure element, which closure element is placed in this case in particular in the region of the outlet opening on a screw thread limiting top edge of this outlet opening, and it is then screwed the trigger valve. It is certainly obvious that the release position of the perforation of the trigger valve is designed and located so that it is in the region of the connecting portion in which the trigger valve has the second screw, or the perforation in this area in the release position, the closure element of the outlet opening Perforate and open the pressure vessel.
- the fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device have a trigger sensor that emits a signal when the thermally controlled release valve has triggered.
- a triggering sensor can e.g. comprise an electrical conductor which is interrupted when the thermal tripping valve is triggered, thus interrupting a sensor circuit.
- the trigger sensor can be formed by a normally open circuit, which is closed by triggering the thermal release valve and possibly the movement of components thereof and thus emits a signal.
- the signal of a triggering sensor can e.g. can be used to trigger an alarm, but it can also be used to control other automatic actions, e.g. to trigger further extinguishing mechanisms to close fire protection barriers or the like.
- the invention is concerned with a passively thermally controlled trigger valve comprising: a bearing part, a release part movable relative to the bearing part between a ready position and a release position, a perforation element arranged on the triggering part, - A spring means which is arranged between the bearing part and the release part and biases the trigger part relative to the bearing part in the release position, and - A thermal tripping element, which holds the trigger member against the bias exerted by the spring means bias in the standby position.
- the passively thermally controlled release valve of the invention is characterized in that the release part is sleeve-like and is seated on the bearing part and in a longitudinal direction of the bearing part on this between the standby position and the release position is movable.
- This passively thermally controlled release valve thus designated and constructed is particularly suitable for use in the formation of a fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device as described above, but is not limited to such use. It may as well be e.g. in a use as described in the aforementioned DE 199 11 530 C2 as a safety valve for a compressed gas tank, or as a trigger valve larger sized fire extinguishing and / or fire protection equipment or systems, e.g. in the context of sprinkler systems.
- the passively thermally controlled release valve according to the invention also differs from the construction of a similarly acting valve disclosed in the already mentioned DE 199 11 530 C2, which is shown in the cited document in FIG. 4.
- the thermal triggering element is arranged acentric, so that when a triggering of the triggering element not only in the longitudinal direction of the perforation element shown there in the form of a hollow needle directed force pulse occurs, but also a transversely acting direction to this direction pulse can occur, which lead to tilting or tilting and can affect the effectiveness of this valve.
- this can be avoided accordingly and a clean axial release force and a corresponding pulse can be achieved.
- the bearing part with an outer surface, on which the sleeve-like formed release part is seated form a guide for the triggering part in its movement from the ready position to the release position.
- the corresponding guidance ensures once again that, in the event of triggering, a corresponding movement of the release part and thus of the perforation element from the ready position into the release position occurs, in which the perforation element can perforate a corresponding closure element so as to release a flow path.
- the triggering part is referred to as sleeve-like design, does not mean that this particular continuous cylindrical has the shape of a sleeve.
- the release part has a sleeve portion, with which it rests on the bearing part and can be moved along the bearing part.
- the triggering part next to such a sleeve portion then have a front side closed dome portion which forms a corresponding conclusion of the triggering part.
- On an inner surface of the dome section can then be provided or formed in particular a bearing surface which serves as an abutment for an end of the thermal release element, said end may be in particular an axial end.
- lateral outlet openings can be provided in the outer wall of the triggering part, which connect the interior of the triggering part to an outer side and which in particular are arranged directly below the dome section.
- Such outlet openings can serve for distributing an outflowing medium which, in the event of triggering of the triggering valve, flows through the triggering valve up to the outlet openings and is released there to the outside.
- the bearing part is formed substantially circular cylindrical.
- a particular also provided with a circular diameter sleeve portion of the trigger part can be placed and performed by this particularly well at a transfer from the ready position to the release position.
- the bearing part can, according to a possible embodiment of the invention, be connected to a, in particular end-side, end connection structure for connection to and connection to a closed with a perforable closure element outlet opening, wherein it is in this connection structure in particular a thread, eg an internal thread, can act.
- the release valve according to the invention may further comprise a support bearing for the spring means, which is arranged on the trigger part according to a variant embodiment.
- This support bearing can be arranged in particular on the trigger part in a longitudinal extension on a first side of the trigger member, and the trigger member may have on a second side opposite the first side an abutment for the thermal release element, in which case between the support bearing and the abutment in the Longitudinal extension seen only the spring means and beyond the spring means the thermal release element are arranged.
- spring means and thermal tripping element can be arranged running along a central axis of the structure in order to achieve the symmetry already described above as advantageous and thus the exact triggering of the passively thermally controlled tripping valve.
- the support bearing described above may be formed in a variant embodiment in particular by a fixed to opposite wall portions of a sleeve-like portion of the trigger part, extending transversely to the longitudinal extension of the trigger part bearing pin passing through guide slots in the bearing part.
- Such a construction offers next to the mere creation of the Abstützlagers further advantages.
- an additional secure leadership especially with regard to a suppression of a rotation possibility of the trigger member then, if this would otherwise be done done.
- an axial bore can be provided in the bearing part, in which the spring means is arranged and is supported on one side on an axial bore limiting the front end spring bearing.
- the thermal triggering element may in particular again be a so-called thermal bulb, that is generally a glass vessel completely enclosing an interior space with a triggering liquid enclosed in the interior and expanding at a predetermined triggering temperature until the glass vessel bursts.
- the perforation element can take various forms, e.g. a perforation needle, in particular a perforated hollow needle, which then immediately forms with its cavity a passage for the guidance of a triggering case of the triggering valve in this inflowing fluid forms a perforating blade or the like.
- the trigger valve of the invention may comprise a trigger sensor which emits a signal when the thermally controlled trigger valve has triggered.
- a trigger sensor which emits a signal when the thermally controlled trigger valve has triggered.
- electrical contacts are attached to electrically conductive components of the trigger valve and these are connected to an electrical circuit, wherein a closed circuit is formed via the electrically conductive components either in the standby position, which is interrupted by taking the trigger position and thus triggers the signal.
- This can e.g. be effected in that an electrical contact by mechanical moving and bringing apart of two elements of the trigger valve is opened in the transition from the ready position to the release position.
- a thermal tripping element e.g. a glass vessel filled with a triggering liquid, e.g. formed by appropriate coating and electrically integrated into the circuit, this on triggering (when, for example, the glass vessel bursts) but interrupts.
- the trigger sensor may also include an open circuit in the ready position, which is closed by triggering the trigger valve and taking the trigger position, thereby triggering the signal. This closing of a circuit can e.g. be effected by two electrically contacted components of the trigger valve when triggering and taking the release position are moved towards each other and brought into mechanical and electrical contact.
- the triggering sensor system contains a circuit that is closed in the standby position and which is connected via the thermal tripping element, in particular a glass vessel filled with a tripping liquid, e.g. a glass ampoule is guided
- this circuit can also be used to heat by means of an electric current supplied in this by the thermal effect of the current flowing through the thermal tripping element line section electrical current, the thermal tripping element targeted to the triggering temperature and so to operate a remote release.
- the corresponding circuit can be formed with the guided over the thermal tripping element line section without a trigger sensor and designed purely as a remote triggering.
- Figure 1 is a sectional view schematically the structure of a fire extinguishing or fire protection device according to the invention.
- Fig. 2 in individual representations a to d, the mode of action of the invention for the formation of the fire extinguishing or fire protection used, also according to the invention passively thermally controlled trigger valve based on four instantaneous representations during a tripping operation;
- FIG. 3 shows a trigger valve according to the invention with the illustration of the integration of a triggering sensor system
- FIG. 4 shows the release valve of FIG. 3 in a sectional view taken along the line A-A in FIG. 3.
- a fire extinguishing or fire protection device is shown schematically in a sectional view, which is provided with the reference numeral 1.
- This fire extinguishing or fire protection device 1 contains as essential components a pressure vessel 2 and a passively thermally controlled release valve 10.
- the pressure vessel 2 is shown designed in the manner of a print cartridge and includes an outer wall 3, which, for example. may be formed of a metal, such as stainless steel, and which encloses an inner volume 7.
- the pressure vessel 2 has an outlet opening 4, which is sealingly closed with a sealing film 5. In a neck-shaped region near the outlet opening 4, the pressure vessel 2 has an external thread 6.
- the closure film 5 is chosen to be strong and resilient so that it can withstand a pressure prevailing in the inner volume 7, exerted by the compressed extinguishing agent pressure.
- the trigger valve 10 is screwed with a connector to which an internal thread 25 is mounted on the neck-shaped portion with the outlet opening 4 of the pressure vessel 2 and the external thread 6 provided there, and so connected to the pressure vessel 2 into a unit, the total fire extinguishing or fire protection device 1 forms.
- the triggering valve 10 is placed directly on the pressure vessel 2 and connected thereto, without being interposed here, for example, by a long-running pressure line or the like.
- the component shown here is made compact, e.g. a total longitudinal extent of about 100 mm (sum of the lengths of the pressure vessel 2 and the trigger valve 10) and an overall diameter at the widest point of about 20 to 25 mm.
- the capacity of the inner volume 7 of the pressure vessel may be 50 ml to 100 ml in this example.
- the trip valve 10 which in itself also constitutes a separate subject of the invention and in particular is not limited in use within the scope of a fire extinguishing or fire protection device as shown herein, but may also be used in other applications as a thermally controlled trigger valve, comprises first two essential main components, namely a bearing part 11, on which the internal thread 25 is formed and which is correspondingly fixed in position connected to the pressure vessel 2, and a trigger part 12. It can be seen that the trigger member 12 is sleeve-like placed on the bearing member 11, wherein the interaction of an outer circumferential surface of the here formed cylindrical support member 11 and a corresponding inner surface of the trigger member 12 is a guide for a possible longitudinal movement of the trigger member 12 relative to the bearing member 11 is formed.
- a perforation element 13 here in the form of a perforation needle, in particular perforated hollow needle, fixed and extends in a longitudinal direction in the direction of the possible direction of movement of the trigger member 12 relative to the bearing member 11.
- a perforation element 13 In the bearing part 11 is in the axial direction of a bore 14 introduced, in which a compression spring 14 is inserted.
- This compression spring 14 is supported on the one hand on a bearing pin 16 which is connected to the bearing part 11 transversely with the respective outer wall of the sleeve-shaped release part, and on the other hand on a spring bearing 17 from which spring bearing 17 is formed by a frontal taper or contact edge of the bore 14 ,
- the compression spring 15 acts as a spring means between the bearing part 11 and the trigger member 12 and biases in the ready position of the trigger valve 10 shown here in Fig. 1, the trigger member 12 in a manner to be described in a triggering position before.
- the bearing part 11 has on its the spring bearing 17 opposite outer end face on a funnel-shaped recess 18 which is connected via a continuation of the bore 14 (with a smaller diameter) with this bore to form a media channel.
- guide slots 19 are further formed, which are penetrated as extending in the axial longitudinal direction slots or longitudinal slots of the bearing pin 16 and this open a possibility of movement along the longitudinal slots 19 and provide a guide.
- the trigger member 12 has, in addition to a sleeve-shaped portion 21 with which it rests on the bearing part 11, a dome portion 20 closing the trigger part 21 at its end face opposite the fitting with the internal thread 25.
- an abutment 22 is formed for an elongated, arranged along the longitudinal axis of the thermal trigger element 24, which is supported with a longitudinal end on the abutment 22 and a second longitudinal end in the funnel-shaped recess 18 of the bearing part 11.
- the thermal trip element 24 thus maintains the trip valve 10 in its standby position by preventing the trigger member 12 from moving in the direction of the pressure vessel 2, a movement which would be triggered in the absence of the thermal trip element 24 due to the spring force applied by the compression spring 15 ,
- outflow openings 23 are provided along the circumference, distributed in the lateral wall of the release part 12, through which, in the case of a perforation of the closure film 5 caused by the perforation element 13, as described below, out of the inner volume 7 Extinguishing medium, which previously flows through the through the bore 14, the passage into the funnel-shaped recess 18 and the inner region of the dome portion 20 formed media channel can flow in radial distribution.
- the triggering element 24 here in the form of the thermal bulb
- the triggering element 24 can also be considered in the ready position and thus checked for possible damage or irregularities, e.g. a loss of the usually colored triggering liquid to be inspected out.
- the thermal tripping element 24 which may be a so-called thermo-bulb, that is to say a glass vessel which completely encloses an interior which is filled with a triggering liquid, in particular a glass tube sealed on both sides, triggers
- a triggering liquid in particular a glass tube sealed on both sides
- Fig. 2a shows the thermal release valve once again in the standby position, in which the thermal release element 24 is intact and in its clamped between the bearing part 11 and the trigger member 12 position the trigger member 12 is supported in the standby position and against the exerted by the compression spring 15 and force acting in the direction of a release position.
- the thermal triggering element 24 being triggered by the triggering liquid contained therein bursting out of the glass vessel due to its expansion, then the "holding device" which holds the triggering part 12 relative to the bearing part 11 in the ready position is omitted. , so that the trigger member 12 driven by the compression spring 15 and the force released by this force is moved in the direction of arrows P shown in Fig. 2b and outwardly on the bearing member 11 and guided by its outer surface relative to this moves accordingly or displaced. D indicates that, in this triggering case, the triggering liquid evaporates in the thermal triggering element 24, which here is a thermo-bulb.
- Fig. 2c is now shown how the trigger valve 10 has reached the release position, in which the perforation element 13 a closure element, e.g. the sealing film 5, pierces, so perforated.
- a closure element e.g. the sealing film 5
- the bearing pin 16 guided in the guide slots 19 of the bearing part 11 is moved in the direction of the release position, wherein the compression spring 15 has at least partially relaxed, their compressive force transmitted to the bearing pin 16 and thus the trigger member 12 in the direction drove the triggering position.
- a previously through the closure element e.g. the retaining film 5 retained medium from a container, in particular the extinguishing medium contained in the pressure vessel 2 in the direction of arrow P of Fig. 2c flow and enters the trigger valve 10 into it. There it flows, as finally shown in FIG. 2 d, further along the media channel in the direction of the arrows P shown there and exits from the outflow openings 23 in extinguishant clouds designated there by L.
- the trigger valve 10 is here that arranged by the special design of the bearing element 11 and the sleeve-shaped sitting and relatively movable to this trigger element 12, which carries the perforation member 13 and the symmetrical to the central axis of the trigger valve 10 and one behind the other seen arrangement of the compression spring 15 and the thermal release element 24 a very symmetrical design can be achieved with the advantage of a trigger in the case of very precisely directed in the direction of the desired displacement force exerted by the compression spring 15 without an asymmetric arrangement of one of the elements here unwanted and disturbing lateral impulses are caused.
- FIGS. 3 and 4 a modification of a triggering valve 10 is shown here, isolated and without the pressure vessel, in a side view (FIG. 3) and a sectional view (FIG. 4) taken along the section line A-A according to FIG.
- This trigger valve is constructed in the essential elements and functional parts as well as that shown in Figs. Therefore, the elements that are correspondingly functionally identical in each case, also provided with identical reference numerals. They act, unless deviations are explained below, together in the manner described above with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. Accordingly, with regard to the construction and the basic function of the triggering element 10 according to FIGS. 3 and 4, reference is made to the above description of the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2.
- a difference in structure between the embodiments according to Figures 1 and 2 on the one and the figures 3 and 4 on the other side consists in the design of the abutment 22, on which the thermal release element is supported. While in the example shown in Figures 1 and 2, this abutment 22 is simply formed on an inner surface of the dome portion 20, an abutment portion 26 is provided in the embodiment of Figures 3 and 4.
- This abutment member 26 is inserted with the interposition of an electrical insulating member 27 which electrically isolates the formed of an electrically conductive material abutment member 26 of the likewise electrically conductive trigger member 12 in an opening in the dome portion 20 and points to a lying inside the trigger member 12 , the thermal tripping element 24 facing surface, the actual abutment 22 in the form of a depression.
- the pair of abutment member 26 and electrical insulation member 27 is fixed and fixed in the opening of the dome portion 20 in which this pairing is inserted, e.g. by press fitting.
- An end of the abutment portion 26 shown in the figures above is made outwardly through the dome portion 20 so as to be exposed.
- An electrical line 28 is fixed with a clamping screw 30 at this end of the abutment part 26 and contacts the abutment part 26 there electrically.
- a further electrical line 29 is fixed to the bearing part 11 with a clamping screw 31 in the area in which the internal thread 25 is formed, and is electrically connected there.
- the bearing member 11 is also formed of an electrically conductive material, e.g. Brass or stainless steel.
- the thermal tripping element 24 is provided with an electrical line, here with an electrically conductive coating 32, which extends over the entire length of the thermal tripping element 24.
- this electrically conductive coating 32 extends continuously into the areas in which the thermal release element 24 lies in the funnel-shaped recess 18 in the bearing part 11 and there in mechanical communication with the material of the bearing part 11, and also into the areas, in which the thermal tripping element 24 rests against the abutment 22 of the abutment part 26 and there is in mechanical communication with the material of the abutment part 26.
- the two electrical leads 28 and 29 may be e.g. can be connected to an electrical sensor circuit and thereby a closed, monitored circuit can be created.
- the thermal trip element 24 triggers, so bursts, as described with reference to Figures 2 a) to c) for the same first embodiment of the thermal tripping valve 10, the section of the electrical connection formed by the electrically conductive coating 32 is interrupted and thus the circuit as a whole.
- One at this point e.g. detected by the sensor circuit voltage drop can then be interpreted as a signal for triggering the thermal tripping valve 10 and thus also equipped with this compact fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device 1.
- This signal can then be used again, e.g. to issue an alarm to indicate that the fire extinguishing and / or fire protection device 1 must be replaced to trigger other actions, e.g. to trigger more extinguishing devices, or the like.
- the sensor system selected here which normally has a closed circuit, is therefore preferable to one which only closes a circuit in a tripping case, since it does not threaten to fail in the event of a power failure, but in such a case an alarm outputs.
