Silicone oil or the like can be used, but a high boiling point solvent is preferable.
- the organic solvent is used in an amount of usually 10 to 200 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the pesticidal active ingredient.
- the water-floating large-sized granular agricultural chemical preparation of the present invention is usually a granular preparation that floats on the water surface containing the components described above, but the above-mentioned components and blending amounts have a particle size of 3 mm or more.
- the preparation has a particle size distribution exceeding 80%, it is adjusted so that it disintegrates within 30 minutes on the water surface, preferably within 20 minutes.
- the time required for disintegration exceeds 30 minutes, the preparation is blown by wind, which is not preferable.
- the above ingredients are blended so that when the preparation floats on the water surface, the portion exposed on the water surface is 40% or less, preferably 20% or less of the whole preparation. It is desirable to adjust the amount.
- the equilibrium moisture content and the blending ratio of each of the above raw materials are important.
- the equilibrium moisture content of each raw material may be quoted from literature values or the like, and those skilled in the art can also obtain this by a simple test. That is, a predetermined amount of a saturated aqueous solution of potassium fluoride is put in a suitable non-sealed container, a container containing a predetermined amount of raw material and the saturated aqueous solution of potassium fluoride is placed in a desiccator, and the container is covered with a 60 ° C. Then, the raw material is taken out and the water content of the raw material determined by the Karl Fischer method can be obtained as it is as the equilibrium water content of the raw material.
- the water-floating large granular pesticide preparation of the present invention is a total of n kinds of raw materials such as an agrochemical active ingredient, a floating carrier component, and auxiliary components (excluding water) constituting the water-floating large granular pesticide preparation. That is, for raw material 1, raw material 2... Raw material n, W1 parts by weight of raw material 1 (equilibrium moisture content EM1), W2 parts by weight of raw material 2 (equilibrium moisture content EM2), and so on. When the whole (however, when the raw material contains water, excluding the weight of water) is 100 parts by weight, Wn parts by weight of EMn) are uniformly mixed.
- the formulation X is designed so that the value X defined by the above is in the range of 0.5-2.
- the raw material mixture lacks the ability to retain water, so that kneading does not proceed and extrusion granulation becomes difficult.
- kneading proceeds excessively, and a granulated product that takes time to disintegrate on the water surface tends to be formed.
- the granulated product is very soft and it may be difficult to maintain the shape.
- Such a granulated product tends to be crushed when handled with a machine suitable for mass production, and even if it is unavoidably handled manually, the production capacity is reduced at that time, and a large amount of added water is removed. There is no change in that high temperature and / or prolonged drying is required.
- the temperature range used for drying in the production of the granular pesticide preparation is usually 40 to 95 ° C., but the drying temperature in the production of the water-floating large granular pesticide preparation of the present invention is 80 ° C. or less. Is good.
- the drying temperature should be set high.
- the water-floating large granular pesticide preparations lose their water-floating property and disintegration property due to high-temperature and / or long-term heat exposure. May be.
- the water-floating large granular pesticide preparation of the present invention can be carried out without being limited to a specific pesticide active ingredient, it has a feature that it can be efficiently dried even at low temperatures, and therefore has a decomposition point or transition point in a temperature range of 100 ° C. or lower. This is particularly effective when producing a water surface-floating large granular agrochemical formulation containing an agrochemical active ingredient having the above.
- thermoplastic resins such as polyacrylonitrile copolymers used as microcapsule membrane materials for agrochemical active ingredients and microsphere membrane walls as a floating carrier are used in the composition. It is a functional auxiliary material that is expected to have a predetermined function, and there are cases in which it is desired to try compounding even if heat resistance is difficult.
- the water-floating large-sized granular pesticide preparation of the present invention is used to produce a water-floating large-sized granular pesticide preparation containing a thermoplastic resin having a softening point in a temperature range of 100 ° C. or lower. Is also particularly effective.
- the microspheres of thermoplastic resin can be used as a floating carrier, and at the same time, it has the effect of improving the granulation property of the raw material mixture.
- the film material is a thermoplastic resin
- the hollow structure may be physically destroyed by heat exposure during drying, and the function as a floating carrier may be impaired. This phenomenon may occur even below the softening point of the thermoplastic resin due to the influence of other auxiliary materials blended together and sometimes the influence of the agrochemical active ingredient. For this reason, it has been difficult to predict whether the water surface floatability can be guaranteed under the drying conditions set for the formulation of the water surface floating large granular pesticide formulation.
- the setting of the drying temperature of the water-floating large granular pesticide preparation required extremely complicated work.
- a method of prescribing a large amount of microspheres in advance is also conceivable. This is not preferable because it becomes fragile, the specific gravity becomes too light, the package becomes bulky, and the distance of flight cannot be increased by throwing and spraying from the shore.
- the range of specific gravity of water-floating large granular pesticide preparations is usually 0.3 to 1.
- the drying temperature suitable for a composition can be set with a simple method. That is, 5 g of the mixture of all raw materials before extrusion granulation was added with water to make a 100 mL dispersion, shaken vigorously and allowed to stand for 10 minutes to determine the volume V0 of solids floating on the water surface, The dispersion is heated at a predetermined temperature T for 2 hours, shaken vigorously again, and then allowed to stand for 10 minutes to obtain a solid volume VT that floats on the water surface.
- V0 and VT are as follows: It is a method for producing a water-floating large-sized granular agricultural chemical preparation that is dried at a temperature of T or lower that satisfies the above.
- T the higher the probability that the conditional expression is satisfied, but as will be described later, the lower the drying temperature, the more the productivity deteriorates.
- the drying temperature can be lowered sufficiently, but if the drying temperature is lowered unnecessarily, Since the drying efficiency is lowered and the time required for drying is inevitably increased, the productivity of the water-floating large-sized granular pesticide preparation is deteriorated.
- the decomposition point or transition point is a characteristic value inherent to the substance and is in principle unchanged. Therefore, in order to avoid the deterioration of productivity, it is required for a water-floating large granular pesticide formulation.
- the formulation design of water-floating large granular agrochemical formulations can be dried sufficiently quickly even at relatively low temperatures It is necessary to have excellent drying efficiency.
- the granulation method of the water-floating large-sized granular agricultural chemical formulation of the present invention that satisfies the above conditions is not particularly limited, but after mixing all the raw materials except water, knead by adding water and constant A method of granulating by extruding from a plate having a hole of the size of is preferable.
- the granulated product is formed by a method of cutting the granulated product to an appropriate length, giving the rolling motion to the cut granulated product, and stopping the movement when the surface becomes a smooth curved surface. In this case, it is preferable that the ratio of the minor axis to the major axis of each grain is 1 to 3.
- the formed granular material may be dried for a time until the water content is in the range of 0.3 to 3 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the preparation.
- the time required for such drying is an important factor directly related to the productivity of a water-floating large-sized granular agricultural chemical formulation.
- the water-floating large-sized granular agrochemical preparation of the present invention having the numerical value X of 0.5 to 2 has good drying efficiency, and the required drying time is usually 120 minutes or less, preferably depending on the drying temperature. 90 minutes or less, more preferably 60 minutes or less.
- the drying temperature to be applied is usually 80 ° C. or lower, but in a water-floating large-sized granular agricultural chemical formulation in which an agrochemical active ingredient or auxiliary material having a decomposition point or transition point in a temperature range of 80 ° C. or lower is blended, It is preferable to set the drying temperature below the decomposition point or transition point.
- the integrated value of the drying temperature and drying time which is an index representing the degree of heat exposure during drying, is usually 7200 ° C./min or less, preferably 6000 ° C./min in the water-floating large granular agricultural chemical preparation of the present invention. Hereinafter, it is more preferably 4800 ° C. ⁇ min or less.
- an active ingredient having a water surface application effect is contained as a component, the particle size thereof is 3 to 8 mm, and the specific gravity is 0.3 to 1.
- examples include those that disintegrate in 1 to 20 minutes after being sprayed on the water surface.
- the water-floating large-sized granular agricultural chemical preparation of the present invention contains more particles having a particle size of 3 mm or more, that is, has a particle size distribution in which particles having a particle size of 3 mm or more are 80% or more. Further, it is more preferable that particles having a particle size of 3 to 10 mm are 80% or more, and more preferably particles having a particle size of 3 to 8 mm are 80% or more.
- the method for spraying the water-floating large-sized granular agricultural chemical preparation of the present invention described above to the water surface of a paddy field is not particularly limited.
- a method of holding and throwing the preparation with a hand wearing vinyl gloves, a power spreader A method of spraying and spraying continuously from the nozzle, or a method of instantaneously opening and closing the shutter lever and spraying and spraying, a method of throwing using a handle, and shaking a cylindrical container
- the labor-saving spray preparation that is premised on local spraying is a sprayed spray when the rice plant is small.
- the water-floating large granular pesticide preparation of the present invention has good diffusion of agrochemical active ingredients in paddy fields where algae are generated or paddy fields where rice plants have grown to some extent. It can be said that it is a water-floating granular pesticide formulation that can be obtained, and by spraying this product at a specific position in a paddy field and within a specific area, the pesticide active ingredient hardly interferes with labor saving at the time of pesticide spraying Can be uniformly dispersed. That is, the diffusible granular preparation of the present invention having a particle size of 3 mm or more is 80% or more, floats on the water surface, and disintegrates on the water surface within 30 minutes. Spread the agrochemical active ingredient uniformly in the paddy field by spreading over 5-50% of the total paddy area, preferably 10-50%, at a distance of 2m or more from the shore. can do.
- the water-floating large granular pesticide preparation of the present invention is sprayed over 50% of the total paddy field area, it is meaningless for the purpose of labor-saving spraying of pesticides and has an area of 50% or less. It is desirable to spray on. Furthermore, of course, even in paddy fields where no algae are generated, paddy fields before transplantation, and paddy fields with small rice stocks, the diffusion of the pesticidal active ingredient by the water-floating large granular pesticide preparation of the present invention is good, The effect of the pesticide is obtained.
- Example 1 12 parts of fentolazamide (melting point 78.9 ° C., equilibrium moisture content 0.14), 5 parts of sodium salt of alkylnaphthalenesulfonic acid formalin condensate (equilibrium moisture ratio 8.95), sodium polyacrylate (equilibrium moisture ratio 11.56) 2 parts, 2 parts of polypropylene glycol (equilibrium water content 0.70), 2 parts of enzyme-modified dextrin (equilibrium water content 5.50), plastic hollow body (softening point 75) with vinylidene chloride / polyacrylonitrile copolymer as membrane wall ° C, equilibrium water content 0.48) 1.2 parts, bentonite (equilibrium water content 5.17) 5 parts, urea (equilibrium water content 0.01) 10 parts and heavy calcium carbonate (equilibrium water content 0.05) 60.8 parts was uniformly mixed in a high-speed mixer, and after adding an appropriate amount of water and kneading, extrusion granulation was
- the resulting granulated product is placed in a horizontally placed drum, formed by giving a motion of rolling to the granulated product while rotating, dried at 60 ° C. until the water content becomes 1.1% by mass, and floated on the water surface.
- a large granular pesticide formulation was obtained.
- the particle size distribution of this agrochemical formulation was 80% or more for particles having a particle size of 3 mm or more.
