Definitions
- the present invention relates to an electrolytic solution for an electrochemical device such as an aluminum electrolytic capacitor, and more particularly to an electrolyte containing a polyvalent carboxylic acid compound having a novel ether group.
- the present invention has physical properties particularly required as an electrolytic solution component for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor, such as a high spark start voltage and high electrical conductivity, and crystals (solids) are precipitated even during operation at low temperatures. It is an object of the present invention to provide an electrolyte for an electrolytic solution for electrochemical devices, which has a feature of being difficult.
- G represents an (n + 1) -valent hydrocarbon group having 2 to 36 carbon atoms which may have a substituent, provided that when it has an aromatic group, it contains a hetero atom.
- R 1 to R 4 each represents one substituent selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an alkyloxy group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and a hydroxyl group, and R 1 to R 4 4 may be the same as or different from each other, and each may represent the same or different group at each occurrence, provided that R 3 and R 4 do not both represent an alkyl group and alkyloxy;
- n is an integer of 1 to 10, and when n is 2 or more, an oxy group having a carboxylic acid moiety at the molecular end does not exist on the same carbon;
- R a + represents an ion selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen ion, an ammonium ion, and an organic amine ion, and
- G is a saturated hydrocarbon group having 2 to 36 carbon atoms, an unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 4 to 36 carbon atoms, an aromatic group having 6 to 36 carbon atoms that may contain a hetero atom, and It represents a hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbon groups having 7 to 36 carbon atoms which may contain a hetero atom having an aromatic part and an aliphatic part.
- the electrolyte according to the above 1 or 2 comprising a compound represented by the general formula (1) wherein n is 1 to 3.
- G is a linear alkylene group having 3 to 12 carbon atoms, a branched chain alkane-di having 3 to 12 carbon atoms in the main chain and 1 to 1 carbon atoms in the side chain, Or a tetra-yl group, formula (2):
- v, w, x and z each represent a number of 0 to 6, and v + w + x + z is 2 to 6. However, when v is 0 and z is 0, a ring member carbon is bonded. It is a site, and when x is 0 and w is 0, it indicates a single bond.
- An electrolytic solution for an electrochemical device comprising the electrolyte according to any one of 1 to 7 above and a mixed solvent of water and one or more organic solvents selected from ethylene glycol and ⁇ -butyrolactone.
- A is a group selected from the group consisting of COOH, CN and COOR 5 , and R 5 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms.
- an electrolyte of an electrolytic solution for an electrochemical device having a high spark start voltage, a high electrical conductivity, and a feature that crystals (solids) are difficult to precipitate even during operation at a low temperature. can do.
- the polyvalent carboxylic acid compound having an ether group used in the present invention has good conductivity and spark voltage, exhibits good solubility in water and many organic solvents, and has excellent properties at low temperatures. There is expected. Therefore, this polyvalent carboxylic acid compound is expected to be used as an electrolyte component of an electrolytic solution for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor by utilizing such solubility, in particular, the feature of less precipitation from an aqueous solution. It is expected to be useful as a builder for detergents, cleaning agents, lubricants, anti-scaling agents, epoxy resin curing agents, raw materials for polymers, and the like.
- the polyvalent carboxylic acid compound having an ether group will be described.
- General formula (1) The polyvalent carboxylic acid compound used in the present invention has two or more carboxyl groups in the molecule, has 8 to 70 carbon atoms, and is represented by the following general formula (1).
- G represents an (n + 1) -valent hydrocarbon group having 2 to 36 carbon atoms which may have a substituent, provided that when it has an aromatic group, it contains a hetero atom.
- R 1 to R 4 each represents one substituent selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an alkyloxy group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and a hydroxyl group, and R 1 to R 4 4 may be the same as or different from each other, and each may represent the same or different group at each occurrence, provided that R 3 and R 4 do not both represent an alkyl group and alkyloxy;
- n is an integer of 1 to 10, and when n is 2 or more, an oxy group having a carboxylic acid moiety at the molecular end does not exist on the same carbon;
- R a + represents an ion selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen ion, an ammonium ion, and an organic amine ion, and
- G is preferably a saturated hydrocarbon group having 2 to 36 carbon atoms, an unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 4 to 36 carbon atoms, or a carbon number that may contain a hetero atom. It is selected from the group consisting of an aromatic group having 6 to 36 and a hydrocarbon group having 7 to 36 carbon atoms which may contain a hetero atom having an aromatic part and an aliphatic part. These groups may have a substituent.
- G is preferably a (n + 1) -valent saturated hydrocarbon group having 2 to 36 carbon atoms, which is a residue obtained by removing (n + 1) hydrogen atoms from a saturated hydrocarbon (ie, alkane).
- the saturated hydrocarbon group may be a linear hydrocarbon group, a branched chain hydrocarbon group (3 or more carbon atoms), or a hydrocarbon group containing a saturated ring in the molecule (3 or more carbon atoms).
