Description
本発明は、ベッドモードを備えた航空機の乗客用シートの改良に関する。
長距離をフライトする航空機の乗客用のシートは、ベッドモードを備えたものが使用されている。その多くは、シートのリクライニング動作を延長してフラットにするが、シートは座るのに適したクッション形状に形成されているので、完全なフラット形状にすることができない問題があった。
そこで、シートの背もたれであるシートバックを前方に倒してベッドに変換する機構が提案されており、下記の特許文献に開示されている。
図13は、この種のシートの概要を示す説明図である。
シート1は、シート構造の両側を支持するフレーム10を有し、シートのリクライニングやベッドモードなどの操作機構20を備える。座面はシートボトムフレーム40とクッション42で構成される。背もたれはシートバックフレーム60と背もたれクッション62とクッション64を備える。

上記目的を達成するために本発明の航空機の乗客用シートのベッドモード機構は、基本的な手段として、航空機の床面に固定されてシートの構造部材の両側部を支持するフレームと、フレームに後部を支点で支持されるシートボトムフレームと、シートボトムフレームの下面を支持する偏心カムと、フレームに下部を支点で支持されるシートバックフレームと、シートバックフレームの上部に連結されるヘッドレストフレームと、シートバックフレームを起立するアップライトポジションと前側に倒れるベッドモードポジションでロックするロック機構と、シートバックフレームの両側部に配置されるダンパー機構を備える。
そして、ダンパー機構を構成するダンパーユニットは、シートバックフレームがアップライトポジションからベッドモードポジションに倒れる作動により圧縮されてエネルギーを蓄え、シートバックフレームをアップライトポジションに戻す際の力をアシストする構成を備える。

以上の手段を備えることにより、本発明の航空機の乗客用シートは、座席として利用するアップライトポジションからベッドモードとして利用するベッドモードポジションに迅速に変換することができる。シートを倒す際のエネルギーはダンパーに蓄えられるので、シートが急激に倒れることが防止され、また、シートを立てる際の力もアシストされる。
ベッドモードに変換される際には、シートボトムフレームが降下してシートボトムクッションとバックレストクッションの重なりあいも少なくなり、潰れも防止される。またベッドモードで確実にロックされ、ガタの発生も防止される。

ロック機構400は、固定側であるフレーム130に2つ設けられる受け部材460と、可動側であるシートバックフレーム170側に設けられるシリンダ410内に配置されるロックピン420を備える。図示しないハンドルはワイヤ432を介してバックル430に連結されている。ハンドルをマニュアルで操作すると、バックル430はスプリング440に抗してロックピン420を受け部材460から引き抜く。受け部材460はシートバックフレーム170がアップライトポジションとなる位置とベッドモードポジションとなる位置にそれぞれ設けられる。
このロック機構400にあっては、ロックピン420の先端のテーパー面422のテーパー度と受け部材460の受け面470のテーパー度を同一に形成してある。この構成により、ロックピンと受け部材は隙間なく係合する。そこでシートバックフレーム170は二つのポジションで確実に保持される。したがって、特にベッドモードポジションにあっても乗客の体重を支えてガタツキも防止される。
図10は本発明の乗客用シート100をアップライトポジションにセットした状態を示す。

図11はロック機構400を操作してロックピン420を受け部材460から引き抜いた状態を示す。この状態ではシートバックフレーム170を傾動させることができる。
図12は本発明の乗客用シート100をベッドモードポジションにセットした状態を示す。
シートボトムフレーム150は降下されているので、シートボトムクッション152はアップライトポジションの破線位置から実線位置に下がっている。そこで、シートバッククッション152とシートバッククッション172の重なりC2は少なくなり、クッションの潰れは防止される。またガタG1の発生も防止される。

Claims (4)
- 航空機の床面に固定されてシートの構造部材の両側部を支持するフレームと、
前記フレームに後部を支点で支持されるシートボトムフレームと、
前記シートボトムフレームの下面を支持する偏心カムと、
前記フレームに下部を支点で支持されるシートバックフレームと、
前記シートバックフレームの上部に連結されるヘッドレストフレームと、
前記シートバックフレームを起立するアップライトポジションと前側に倒れるベッドモードポジションでロックするロック機構と、
前記シートバックフレームの両側部に配置されるダンパー機構と
を備える航空機の乗客用シートのベッドモード機構であって、
前記ダンパー機構を構成するダンパーユニットは、前記シートバックフレームがアップライトポジションからベッドモードポジションに倒れる作動により圧縮されてエネルギーを蓄え、前記シートバックフレームをアップライトポジションに戻す際の力をアシストする航空機の乗客用シートのベッドモード機構。 - 前記シートボトムフレームの下面を支持する前記偏心カムは、前記シートバックフレームがアップライトポジションからベッドモードポジションに倒れる作動により回転して、シートボトムフレームを降下させる請求項1記載の航空機の乗客用シートのベッドモード機構。
- 前記ロック機構は、前記フレーム側に設けられる2つの受け部材と、前記シートバックフレームに設けられるロックピンと、前記ロックピンを前記受け部材に向けて付勢するスプリングと、ハンドルに連結されて前記ロックピンを前記受け部材から引き抜くバックルを備え、
前記ロックピンの先端に設けられるテーパー面のテーパー角度と、前記受け部材の受け面を構成するテーパー面のテーパー角度はほぼ等しく形成される請求項1記載の航空機の乗客用シートのベッドモード機構。 - 前記ダンパー機構を構成する前記ダンパーユニットは、ガスダンパーである請求項1記載の航空機の乗客用シートのベッドモード機構。
