 近年、表示部上にタッチパネルを設置したタッチパネル装置が普及している。タッチパネル装置では、タッチパネルを介して、表示部に表示した操作キーがタッチされたことを検出すると、タッチされた操作キーに応じた処理を行っている。
 タッチパネル装置では、操作キーを押した感触がないため、タッチパネルに圧電素子を設け、ユーザーがタッチパネルの操作面をタッチした際に、圧電素子に駆動信号を印加することでタッチパネルを振動させ、ユーザーに触感をフィードバックすることが行われている(例えば、特許文献1~3を参照)。

 ところで、複数の圧電素子を振動させた場合、タッチパネル上で複数の圧電素子の振動波が干渉して、タッチした場所によって振動にばらつきが生じる。また、ユーザーが有する感覚は十人十色であり、ユーザーによっては予め設定された振動パターンによる振動に違和感を覚える場合がある。しかしながら、従来の技術では、複数の圧電素子の振動波による触感をユーザーの好みに合わせて簡単に設定することができなかった。
 本発明は上記課題に鑑みてなされたものであり、上記課題を解決することができる技術を提供することを目的とする。
 本発明のタッチパネル装置は、表示部の表示面に配置され、操作を受け付けるタッチパネルを有するタッチパネル装置であって、前記タッチパネルを振動させる複数の圧電素子と、設定された第1パラメーターのパラメーター値と第2パラメーターのパラメーター値と第3パラメーターのパラメーター値とに基づいて、前記複数の圧電素子を駆動する振動制御部と、前記第1パラメーターの複数のパラメーター値を記憶した第1パラメーターテーブルと、前記第2パラメーターの複数のパラメーター値を記憶した第2パラメーターテーブルと、前記第3パラメーターの複数のパラメーター値を記憶した第3パラメーターテーブルと、前記第1パラメーターの前記複数のパラメーター値と前記第2パラメーターの前記複数のパラメーター値と前記第3パラメーターの前記複数のパラメーター値との組み合わせによる複数の触感パターン値を記憶した触感パターンテーブルと、前記触感パターンテーブルに記憶された複数の触感パターン値に基づいて、前記第1パラメーターのパラメーター値と前記第2パラメーターのパラメーター値と前記第3パラメーターのパラメーター値とを設定する設定部とを備えたことを特徴とする。
 本発明のタッチパネル制御方法は、表示部の表示面に配置され、操作を受け付けるタッチパネルと、前記タッチパネルを振動させる複数の圧電素子とを備えたタッチパネル装置により実行されるタッチパネル制御方法であって、設定された第1パラメーターのパラメーター値と第2パラメーターのパラメーター値と第3パラメーターのパラメーター値とに基づいて、前記複数の圧電素子を駆動し、前記第1パラメーターの複数のパラメーター値を記憶した第1パラメーターテーブルと、前記第2パラメーターの複数のパラメーター値を記憶した第2パラメーターテーブルと、前記第3パラメーターの複数のパラメーター値を記憶した第3パラメーターテーブルと、前記第1パラメーターの前記複数のパラメーター値と前記第2パラメーターの前記複数のパラメーター値と前記第3パラメーターの前記複数のパラメーター値との組み合わせによる複数の触感パターン値を記憶した触感パターンテーブルと、前記触感パターンテーブルに記憶された複数の触感パターン値に基づいて、前記第1パラメーターのパラメーター値と前記第2パラメーターのパラメーター値と前記第3パラメーターのパラメーター値とを設定することを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、複数の圧電素子の振動波による触感をユーザーの好みに合わせて簡単に設定することできる技術を提供できる。

 次に、本発明の実施の形態を、図面を参照して具体的に説明する。
 本実施の形態のタッチパネル装置10が搭載された画像形成装置100は、複写機であり、図1を参照すると、原稿読取部120と、原稿給送部130と、記録部140とを備えている。原稿読取部120は、記録部140の上部に配設され、原稿給送部130は、原稿読取部120の上部に配設されている。なお、本件の画像形成装置100は、複写機で説明したが、スキャナー、複合機等が含まれるのは、言うまでもない。
 画像形成装置100の前面側には、画像形成装置100の設定や動作指示を行う操作部4が配設されている。操作部4には、タッチパネル装置10と操作ボタン40が設けられている。なお、ここでは、操作パネルの一例としてタッチパネル12を用いたタッチパネル装置10を例に説明するが、タッチパネルに限らず、実質的な押し込みストロークを持たないような操作パネルを有する操作パネル装置であればよい。タッチパネル装置10は、図2及び図3を参照すると、操作入力を受け付ける各種操作キーを表示する表示部11と、表示部11の表示面に設けられ、操作者の指先やスタイラス等の押圧によるタッチ入力を検知し、タッチ入力が検知された位置に対応する信号を出力することで、表示部11に表示された操作キーへの操作を受け付けるタッチパネル12とを備えている。表示部11及びタッチパネル12は、略同一の形状を有する、短辺が縦方向に、長辺が横方向に配置された長方形である。表示部11としては、例えば液晶表示パネルが用いることができる。また、タッチパネル12としては、例えば抵抗膜方式や静電容量方式等を用いることができる。
 表示部11は、筐体13内に収納保持され、筐体13には、表示部11及びタッチパネル12の周辺領域を覆うアッパーカバー13aが設けられている。表示部11上には、アッパーカバー13aで覆われた箇所に設けられた複数の弾性部材14を介して、タッチパネル12が保持されている。弾性部材14は、ゴム等の樹脂で構成され、弾性部材14の上面は、タッチパネル12を固定する固定面となる。弾性部材14の上面に塗布された粘着材によってタッチパネル12が固定される。
 また、アッパーカバー13aで覆われた箇所のタッチパネル12の裏面には、圧電素子17a~fが貼着されている。圧電素子17a~fは、タッチパネル12を振動させる振動部として機能する。本実施の形態では、圧電素子17a~cと、圧電素子17d~fとが短辺方向にそれぞれ対向してアッパーカバー13aで覆われた箇所に配置されている。対向する圧電素子17aと圧電素子17d、圧電素子17bと圧電素子17e、圧電素子17cと圧電素子17fは、それぞれ1対の組として配置されている。本実施形態では、圧電素子17aと圧電素子17dの組を第1組、圧電素子17bと圧電素子17eの組を第2組、圧電素子17cと圧電素子17fの組を第3組と呼ぶ。なお、圧電素子の組数及び配置箇所は適宜変更してもよい。
 また、操作ボタン40には、印刷枚数等の数値を入力するためのテンキー、設定情報を初期化させる指示を入力するためのリセットキー、複写動作を停止させたり、入力された数値を消去させたりするためのストップキー、印刷動作を開始させる出力指示を入力するためのスタートキー等の操作キーが設けられている。
 原稿読取部120は、図1を参照すると、スキャナー121と、プラテンガラス122と、原稿読取スリット123とを備える。スキャナー121は、LED及びCCD(Charge Coupled Device)センサー等から構成され、原稿給送部130による原稿MSの搬送
方向に移動可能に構成されている。プラテンガラス122は、ガラス等の透明部材により構成された原稿台である。原稿読取スリット123は、原稿給送部130による原稿MSの搬送方向と直交方向に形成されたスリットを有する。
 プラテンガラス122に載置された原稿MSを読み取る場合には、スキャナー121は、プラテンガラス122に対向する位置に移動され、プラテンガラス122に載置された原稿MSを走査しながら原稿MSを読み取って画像データを取得し、取得した画像データを記録部140に出力する。また、原稿給送部130により搬送された原稿MSを読み取る場合には、スキャナー121は、原稿読取スリット123と対向する位置に移動され、原稿読取スリット123を介し、原稿給送部130による原稿MSの搬送動作と同期して原稿MSを読み取って画像データを取得し、取得した画像データを記録部140に出力する。
 原稿給送部130は、原稿載置部131と、原稿排出部132と、原稿搬送機構133とを備えている。原稿載置部131に載置された原稿MSは、原稿搬送機構133によって、1枚ずつ順に繰り出されて、原稿読取部120の原稿読取スリット123に対向する位置へ搬送され、その後、原稿排出部132に排出される。なお、原稿給送部130は、可倒式に構成され、原稿給送部130を上方に持ち上げることで、プラテンガラス122の上面を開放させることができる。
 記録部140は、画像形成部150を備えると共に、給紙部160と、搬送路170と、搬送ローラー181と、排出ローラー182と、排出トレイ190とを備えている。
 給紙部160は、記録紙Pを収納する複数の給紙カセット161a~dと、給紙カセット161a~dから記録紙Pを1枚ずつ搬送路170に繰り出す給紙ローラー162とを備えている。給紙ローラー162、搬送ローラー181及び排出ローラー182が搬送部として機能し、記録紙Pが搬送される。給紙ローラー162によって搬送路170に繰り出された記録紙Pは、搬送ローラー181によって画像形成部150に搬送される。そして、画像形成部150によって記録が施された記録紙Pは、排出ローラー182によって機外に出力される。記録が施された記録紙Pは、排出ローラー182に導かれ、排出トレイ190に出力される。
 画像形成部150は、感光体ドラム151と、帯電部152、露光部153と、現像部154と、転写部155と、クリーニング部156と、定着部157とを備えている。露光部153は、レーザー装置やミラー等を備えた光学ユニットであり、画像データに基づいてレーザー光を出力して、帯電部152によって帯電された感光体ドラム151を露光し、感光体ドラム151の表面に静電潜像を形成する。現像部154は、トナーを用いて感光体ドラム151に形成された静電潜像を現像する現像ユニットであり、静電潜像に基づいたトナー像を感光体ドラム151上に形成させる。転写部155は、現像部154によって感光体ドラム151上に形成されたトナー像を記録紙Pに転写させる。クリーニング部156は、転写後の感光体ドラム151上に残留するトナーを除去する。定着部157は、転写部155によってトナー像が転写された記録紙Pを加熱してトナー像を記録紙Pに定着させる。
 次に、画像形成装置1の概略構成について図4を参照して説明する。
 画像形成装置100のタッチパネル装置10、原稿読取部120、原稿給送部130、画像形成部150及び搬送部(給紙ローラー162、搬送ローラー181、排出ローラー182)は、制御部1に接続され、制御部1によって動作制御される。また、制御部1には、画像処理部2と、記憶部3とが接続されている。
 制御部1は、ROM(Read Only Memory)、RAM(Random Access Memory)等を備えたマイクロコンピュータ等の情報処理部である。ROMには画像形成装置100の動作制御を行うための制御プログラムが記憶されている。制御部1は、ROMに記憶されている制御プログラムを読み出し、制御プログラムをRAMに展開させることで、タッチパネル装置10から入力された所定の指示情報等に応じて装置全体の制御を行う。
 画像処理部2は、画像データに対して所定の画像処理を行う制御演算部であり、例えば、拡大縮小処理や、濃度調整、階調調整等の画像改善処理が行われる。
 記憶部3は、半導体メモリやHDD(Hard Disk Drive)等の記憶媒体であり、原稿読取部120によって原稿を読み取ることで取得された画像データが記憶される。
 タッチパネル装置10には、圧電素子17a~fのパラメーターを設定するパラメーター設定部15と、制御部1からの指示に基づいて、圧電素子17a~fを駆動する振動駆動制御部18とが設けられている。振動駆動制御部18は、パラメーター設定部15で設定されたパラメーター値に基づいて、圧電素子17a~fにそれぞれ駆動信号を印加することで、圧電素子17a~fを振動させてタッチパネル12を振動させる。圧電素子17a~fは第1~第3の組毎に駆動信号が印加される。振動駆動制御部18は、圧電素子17a~fに対して、パラメーター設定部15で設定されたパラメーター値に基づいて、駆動信号の印加電圧や周波数や位相を第1~第3の組毎に変えることで、9種類の触感パターンでタッチパネル12を振動させる。
 振動駆動制御部18により圧電素子17a~fをそれぞれ振動させた場合、圧電素子17a~fの振動がタッチパネル12上で干渉して、タッチパネル12上のタッチした場所によって振動の強さにばらつきが生じる。そのため、本実施形態では、図5に示すように、タッチパネル12にAエリア、Bエリア、Cエリアの計3つの設定基準エリアを設け、設定基準エリアのそれぞれについてタッチしたときの触感パターンを設定できるように構成している。
 パラメーター設定部15には、触感パターンテーブル51と、電圧テーブル52と、周波数テーブル53と、位相差テーブル54とが設けられている。
 図6は、触感パターンを示す1~9が配置された触感パターンテーブル51の1例である。触感パターンテーブル51には、マトリクス状に触感パターンを示す1~9が配置されている。触感パターン1~9のそれぞれは、電圧テーブル52と周波数テーブル53と位相差テーブル54のそれぞれのパラメーター値の組み合わせにより、ユーザーが振動を感じる時間の長さ(振動の長短)とユーザーが触感を感じる強さ(振動の強弱)を表したものである。触感パターンが1→2→3、4→5→6、7→8→9と進むにつれて、ユーザーが振動を感じる時間の長さが長くなり、1→4→7、2→5→8、3→6→9と進むにつれて、ユーザーが振動を感じる強さが強くなるように、電圧テーブル52と周波数テーブル53と位相差テーブル54のパラメーター値を設定するとよい。なお、図6に示す触感パターンテーブル51では、横軸が触感の長短を表し、縦軸が触感の強さを表すように配置されている。なお、触感パターンの配置は、マトリクス状でなくてもよく、例えば、1→9に進むにつれて、ユーザーが振動を感じる時間の長さが長くなるとともに、ユーザーが振動を感じる強さが強くなるようにしてもよい。
 触感パターンテーブル51に対応して、設定基準エリアA~Cのそれぞれについて、第1組の圧電素子用に電圧テーブル52と周波数テーブル53と位相差テーブル54とが設けられている。同様に、設定基準エリアA~Cのそれぞれについて、第2組の圧電素子用に電圧テーブル52と周波数テーブル53と位相差テーブル54とが設けられ、設定基準エリアA~Cのそれぞれについて、第3組の圧電素子用に電圧テーブル52と周波数テーブル53と位相差テーブル54とが設けられている。電圧テーブル52は、駆動信号の電圧を変化させたテーブルであり、周波数テーブル53は、駆動信号の周波数を変化させたテーブルである。また、位相差テーブル54は、圧電素子17a~fの振動波に位相差が付くように駆動信号を印加するタイミング(遅延時間)を変化させたテーブルである。
 例えば、図7は、Aエリアにおける第1組の圧電素子の電圧テーブル52と周波数テーブル53と位相差テーブル54である。図7Aは触感パターンテーブル51であり、図7Bは電圧テーブル52であり、図7Cは周波数テーブル53であり、図7Dは位相差テーブル54である。電圧テーブル52と周波数テーブル53と位相差テーブル54とには、触感パターンテーブル51に対応して、それぞれ9つのパラメーター値がマトリクス状に配置されている。
 例えば、触感パターンテーブル51の触感パターン「5」の場合では、「5」の配置位置に対応して、電圧テーブル52の「25V」と、周波数テーブル53の「400Hz」と、位相差テーブル54の「2ms」とが、Aエリアにおける第1組の駆動信号のパラメーター値となる。
 同様に圧電素子の第2組と第3組についても、Aエリアにおける電圧テーブル52と周波数テーブル53と位相差テーブル54とが、触感パターンテーブル51に対応して用意されている。また、Bエリア、Cエリアについても、圧電素子の第1~第3組それぞれについて、触感パターンテーブル51に対応して、電圧テーブル52と周波数テーブル53と位相差テーブル54とが用意されている。
 図8A、図8B、図8Cは、触感パターン「5」の場合のAエリア、Bエリア、Cエリアそれぞれにおける第1~第3組の圧電素子のパラメーター値の1例である。例えばAエリアの場合、振動駆動制御部18は、第1組の圧電素子に電圧25Vで周波数400Hzの駆動信号を第3組の圧電素子に対する駆動信号に対して駆動信号に2msの位相差を付けて印加し、第2組の圧電素子に電圧30Vで周波数400Hzの駆動信号を第3組の圧電素子に対する駆動信号に対して1msの位相差を付けて印加し、第3組の圧電素子に電圧40Vで周波数400Hzの駆動信号を第3組の圧電素子に対する駆動信号に対して位相差無しで印加する。第1組の圧電素子による振動波と第2組の圧電素子による振動波と第3組の圧電素子による振動波とがタッチパネル12上のAエリアで合成される。合成振動波の触感は、圧電素子17a~fに印加した電圧が高いほど強く、電圧が弱いほど弱くなり、圧電素子17a~fに印加した電圧の周波数が高いほど硬く、弱いほど柔らかくなる。また、圧電素子17a~fの振動波による位相差が大きいほど触感を感じる時間が長く、小さいほど触感を感じる時間が短くなる。
 次に、図9を参照して、触感パターンの設定処理の流れを説明する。以下では、制御部1が触感パターンを設定する設定部として機能する場合の処理の流れを説明する。なお、タッチパネル装置10に設定部を設けてもよいことは言うまでもない。また、予め設定基準エリアA~Cにはそれぞれ触感パターンが設定されているものとする。設定基準エリアA~Cに設定された触感パターンは、例えば記憶部3に記憶されていてもよい。
 制御部1は、ユーザーの操作により触感パターン設定モードに移行すると(ステップs11)、タッチパネル12がタッチされるまで待機しており(ステップs12)、タッチされていない場合(ステップs12でNo)、ステップs12に処理を戻す。タッチされた場合(ステップs12でYes)、制御部1は、振動駆動制御部18を制御して、タッチされたエリアに設定された触感パターンを取得し(ステップs13)、タッチされたエリアに対応する第1~第3組の圧電素子それぞれの電圧テーブル52と周波数テーブル53と位相差テーブル54とを参照して、取得した触感パターンに対応するパラメーター値をそれぞれ取得する(ステップs14)。つづいて、制御部1は、振動駆動制御部18を制御して、取得したパラメーター値に基づいて圧電素子17a~fを所定時間振動させる(ステップs15)。
 つづいて、制御部1は、タッチパネル12上でタッチが継続しているか判定し(ステップs16)、タッチが継続している場合(ステップs16でYes)、振動駆動制御部18を制御して、触感パターンテーブル51を参照して、現在の触感パターンの次の触感パターンを取得して(ステップs17)、取得した触感パターンに対応するパラメーター値を取得し(ステップs14)、そのパラメーター値で圧電素子17a~fを所定時間振動させる(ステップs15)。制御部1は、タッチが継続している間(ステップs16でYes)、ステップs14~ステップs17の処理を繰り返す。これにより、触感パターンは、1→2→3→・・・→8→9→1→2→・・・の順に変化する。ユーザーは、タッチし続けることにより、タッチ点における触感パターンを順に体感しながら確認することができる。
 ユーザーがタッチパネル12から指を離すと、制御部1は、タッチが継続していないと判定し(ステップs16でNo)、現在の触感パターンに設定するか確認するメッセージを表示部11に表示させる(ステップs18)。タッチパネル12がタッチされるなどのOKを示す操作がされると(ステップs19でYes)、制御部1は、タッチされたエリアの触感パターンを現在の触感パターンに設定し(ステップs20)、本処理を終了する。一方、OKを示す操作がされなかった場合(ステップs19でNo)、制御部1は、触感パターンの設定を変更しないで本処理を終了する。
 これにより、振動駆動制御部18は、エリアA~Cがタッチされたときに、タッチされたエリアに設定された触感パターンに対応して、タッチされたエリアに対応する第1~第3組の圧電素子それぞれの電圧テーブル52と周波数テーブル53と位相差テーブル54からパラメーター値を取得し、取得したパラメーター値に基づいて圧電素子17a~fを振動させる。
 以上説明したように、本実施形態のタッチパネル装置10は、予め電圧テーブル52と周波数テーブル53と位相差テーブル54のそれぞれのパラメーター値の組み合わせにより、9種類の触感パターンを記憶した触感パターンテーブル51を備えており、触感パターンテーブル51の触感パターンの中からユーザーが選択した触感パターンに基づいて圧電素子17a~fを振動させる。そのため、ユーザーが各パラメーター値を細かく設定する必要がなく、タッチパネル12をタッチしたときの振動を簡単に好みの触感に設定することができる。また、触感パターンを変えることにより、素子性能のばらつきや、素子の取り付けばらつき、周囲環境などによる影響を抑えることができる。
 本発明は上述した実施の形態に限定されるものではなく、本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない範囲で種々様々に変更が可能であることは言うまでもない。例えば、上記の各パラメーター値は一例であり、適宜変更してもよい。例えば、触感パターンが「5」の場合に、圧電素子17a~fの位相が揃うように位相差テーブル54のパラメーター値を設定してもよい。また、画像形成装置100にログインしたユーザー毎に触感パターンの設定を記憶できるようにしてもよい。

  1.  表示部の表示面に配置され、操作を受け付けるタッチパネルを有するタッチパネル装置であって、
     前記タッチパネルを振動させる複数の圧電素子と、
     設定された第1パラメーターのパラメーター値と第2パラメーターのパラメーター値と第3パラメーターのパラメーター値とに基づいて、前記複数の圧電素子を駆動する振動制御部と、
     前記第1パラメーターの複数のパラメーター値を記憶した第1パラメーターテーブルと、
     前記第2パラメーターの複数のパラメーター値を記憶した第2パラメーターテーブルと、
     前記第3パラメーターの複数のパラメーター値を記憶した第3パラメーターテーブルと、
     前記第1パラメーターの前記複数のパラメーター値と前記第2パラメーターの前記複数のパラメーター値と前記第3パラメーターの前記複数のパラメーター値との組み合わせによる複数の触感パターン値を記憶した触感パターンテーブルと、
     前記触感パターンテーブルに記憶された複数の触感パターン値に基づいて、前記第1パラメーターのパラメーター値と前記第2パラメーターのパラメーター値と前記第3パラメーターのパラメーター値とを設定する設定部と
     を備えたことを特徴とするタッチパネル装置。

  7.  表示部の表示面に配置され、操作を受け付けるタッチパネルと、前記タッチパネルを振動させる複数の圧電素子とを備えたタッチパネル装置により実行されるタッチパネル制御方法であって、
     設定された第1パラメーターのパラメーター値と第2パラメーターのパラメーター値と第3パラメーターのパラメーター値とに基づいて、前記複数の圧電素子を駆動し、
     前記第1パラメーターの複数のパラメーター値を記憶した第1パラメーターテーブルと、
     前記第2パラメーターの複数のパラメーター値を記憶した第2パラメーターテーブルと、
     前記第3パラメーターの複数のパラメーター値を記憶した第3パラメーターテーブルと、
     前記第1パラメーターの前記複数のパラメーター値と前記第2パラメーターの前記複数のパラメーター値と前記第3パラメーターの前記複数のパラメーター値との組み合わせによる複数の触感パターン値を記憶した触感パターンテーブルと、
     前記触感パターンテーブルに記憶された複数の触感パターン値に基づいて、前記第1パラメーターのパラメーター値と前記第2パラメーターのパラメーター値と前記第3パラメーターのパラメーター値とを設定する
     ことを特徴とするタッチパネル制御方法。
