 特許文献1においては、ワークを保持するホルダーにカンザシを支持させると共に、カンザシの内部にエアー導入路を、カンザシの外周に溝部をそれぞれ形成し、該溝部に円環状のダイヤフラムを取り付ける一方、該ダイヤフラムを収納するリング状の空間(ダイヤフラム室)をホルダーに形成している(特許文献1の図1参照)。ワークの加工時には、ホルダーにワークを保持させ、所望の球面形状をなす研削又は研磨工具(以下、加工工具という)をワークに当接させて該加工工具を回転させる。それにより、ワーク及びホルダーが加工工具の動きに追従して回転し、ワークを加工工具に密着させたまま該ワークを研削又は研磨することができる。また、ワークの搬送時には、エアー導入路を介してホルダー内(パイロット室)を排気すると、ダイヤフラムが吸引されてダイヤフラム室の下面に密着する。その結果、パイロット室が真空状態となり、吸引口を介してワークがホルダーに吸着される。

 しかしながら、上記特許文献1においては、ダイヤフラムの上下に空間が存在するため、パイロット室内を排気する際の吸引ロスが大きい。また、カンザシの外周に設けられた溝とダイヤフラムとの嵌合幅が小さいため、密閉性が低い。このため、ワークを搬送する際に、ワークに対する吸着力を維持することが困難という問題があった。
 本発明は、上記に鑑みてなされたものであって、ワークに対する吸着力を確実に維持することができるレンズ保持具を提供することを目的とする。
 上述した課題を解決し、目的を達成するために、本発明に係るレンズ保持具は、加工対象である光学部材を保持するヘッド部と、該ヘッド部を回転可能に支持するカンザシと、を備え、前記カンザシは、内部に排気路が設けられた軸部と、前記軸部に対して外周側に突出するように設けられた突出部と、前記突出部に設けられたシール部材と、前記軸部の先端に設けられた球状の一部をなす支持部と、を有し、前記ヘッド部には、前記光学部材を保持するワーク受け部と、前記突出部を収容する内部空間と、前記軸部の径より大きく、前記突出部の外径よりも小さい径を有し、前記内部空間を当該ヘッド部の外部と連通する開口と、前記内部空間を前記ワーク受け部と連通する吸引孔と、前記支持部が当接可能な先端受け部と、が設けられていることを特徴とする。
 上記レンズ保持具において、前記カンザシによって前記ヘッド部を吊持した場合に、前記シール部材が前記ヘッド部の内壁面に当接して、前記開口が封止されることを特徴とする。
 上記レンズ保持具において、前記内壁面は、前記開口の縁から外周側に向かうほど、前記内部空間の底面に近づくことを特徴とする。
 上記レンズ保持具において、前記内壁面は、球帯形状をなすことを特徴とする。
 上記レンズ保持具において、前記内壁面は、円錐台の側面の形状をなすことを特徴とする。
 上記レンズ保持具において、前記支持部を前記先端受け部に当接させ、前記カンザシの中心軸と前記ヘッド部の中心軸とを一致させた場合に、前記支持部の球心から前記内壁面に下ろした垂線が前記シール部材の断面の中心を通るように、前記シール部材が配置されていることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、ヘッド部の内部空間に収容されるカンザシの突出部にシール部材を設けると共に、内部空間の開口径を突出部の外径よりも小さくするので、内部空間の内側からシール部材によって開口を封止することができるようになり、ワークに対する吸着力を確実に維持することが可能となる。

 以下、本発明の実施の形態について、図面を参照しながら説明する。なお、これら実施の形態によって本発明が限定されるものではない。また、各図面の記載において、同一部分には同一の符号を付して示している。図面は模式的なものであり、各部の寸法の関係や比率は、現実と異なることに留意する必要がある。図面の相互間においても、互いの寸法の関係や比率が異なる部分が含まれる。
(実施の形態1)
 図1及び図2は、本発明の実施の形態1に係るレンズ保持具の構造を示す縦断面図である。実施の形態1に係るレンズ保持具100は、図1に示すように、光学部材からレンズを作製する際に、加工対象である光学部材(ワーク)1を回転する加工工具130に当接させ、ワーク1が従動回転可能となるように該ワーク1を保持すると共に、加工の前後においてワーク1を吸着保持して搬送可能とする器具であり、ワーク1を保持するヘッド部120と、該ヘッド部120を回転可能に支持するカンザシ110とを備える。ここで、加工工具130は、砥石軸131と、ワーク1の加工目標の球面形状(例えば凹球面状)に対応する形状(例えば凸球面状)をなす加工面133が形成された砥石132とを備える工具であり、中心軸A13回りに回転するように、図示しないレンズ加工装置に取り付けられている。
 カンザシ110は、円柱状をなす金属又は合金製の軸部111と、該軸部111に対して外周側に突出するように設けられた突出部112と、該突出部112に設けられたシール部材113と、軸部111の先端に設けられた支持部114とを有する。実施の形態1において、軸部111の回転対称軸を中心軸A11とする。
 軸部111には、中心軸A11に沿って延びる排気路115が形成されている。排気路115の一端は、軸部111の上端面において開口している。この上端面側において、排気路115は図示しない真空吸引装置に接続されている。また、排気路115は、突出部112近傍において分岐し、突出部112よりも下方の軸部111側面の複数箇所において開口している。なお、実施の形態1においては、軸部111側面の2箇所において排気路115を開口させているが、3箇所以上において開口させても良い。また、排気路115を分岐させずに、単に湾曲させて、軸部111側面の1箇所において開口させても良い。
 突出部112は、切り欠き116が設けられた円盤状をなし、この切り欠き116にシール部材113が固定されている。シール部材113は、断面が円形のリング状をなし、例えばシリコーンゴム(SR)、ニトリルゴム(NBR)、クロロプレンゴム(CR)、エチレンプロピレンゴム(EPDM)、スチレンブタジエンゴム(SBR)、フッ素ゴム(FKM)、ブチルゴム(IIR)の弾性材料によって形成されている。なお、実施の形態1においては、突出部112を軸部111と一体的に形成しているが、突出部112及び軸部111をそれぞれ別体として形成し、これらを合体させても良い。この場合、突出部112及びシール部材113を上述した弾性材料によって一体的に形成しても良いし、デルリン(登録商標)やテフロン(登録商標)等の硬質材料によって一体的に形成しても良い。
 支持部114は、球の一部の形状をなしている。ワーク1の加工を行う際には、図1に示すように、支持部114の球面部分がヘッド部120の所定位置に当接するようにカンザシ110が配置される。
 ヘッド部120は、中心軸A12を回転対称軸とする円筒形状をなし、ネジ部123により互いに螺合されたヘッド本体下部121及びヘッド本体上部122によって構成されている。ヘッド部120のヘッド本体下部121側の端部には、ワーク1を保持する凹状の領域であるワーク受け部124が、中心軸A12を中心として形成されている。また、ヘッド本体下部121には、後述する内部空間125をワーク受け部124と連通する吸引孔128が形成されている。
 なお、ワーク1の加工を行う際には、ワーク受け部124に予めバッキング材2を貼付しておき、バッキング材2を介してワーク1をワーク受け部124に当接させる。バッキング材2は、シリコーンゴム等の摩擦係数が比較的高い樹脂材料や、ポリエステル等の樹脂からなる基材の表面に滑り止め加工若しくは粘着加工を施した材料からなるシート状の部材であり、吸引孔128の位置に合わせて予め開口が形成されている。
 ヘッド部120には、カンザシ110の突出部112を収容できる大きさの内部空間125が形成されている。また、ヘッド部120のヘッド本体上部122側の端部には、内部空間125を当該ヘッド部120の外部と連通する開口126が、中心軸A12を中心として形成されている。この開口126の径は、軸部111の径より大きく、突出部112の外径よりも小さい。開口126周囲の内壁面127は、開口126を含む面と同じ平面状となっている。
 内部空間125の底部には、カンザシ110の支持部114を保持する先端受け部129が形成されている。先端受け部129は、支持部114と球心の位置及び曲率半径がほぼ等しい凹球面状をなしている。支持部114を先端受け部129に当接させることで、カンザシ110に対してヘッド部120が傾動及び回転可能に支持される。以下、先端受け部129の球心の位置を、カンザシ支点Q1という。
 上述したように、突出部112の径は開口126の径よりも大きいので、図2に示すように、カンザシ110の軸部111を上方に引き上げると、ヘッド部120が吊持される。それにより、シール部材113が開口126の周囲の内壁面127と当接し、該開口126を封止する。この状態で、排気路115に接続された真空吸引装置を作動させることにより、内部空間125が減圧され、ワーク受け部124に配置されたワーク1を吸着保持することができる。
 以上説明したように、実施の形態1によれば、ヘッド部120の内部空間125に収納可能な突出部112をカンザシ110に設け、カンザシ110によってヘッド部120を吊持した際に、突出部112に設けられたシール部材113により内部空間125が封止されるようにレンズ保持具100を構成するので、内部空間125の密閉性を確保することができる。従って、排気路115を介して内部空間125を排気することにより、内部空間125を充分に減圧することができ、レンズ保持具100によってワーク1を保持して搬送等する際にも、ワーク1に対する吸着力を確実に維持することが可能となる。
(実施の形態2)
 次に、本発明の実施の形態2について説明する。
 図3及び図4は、本発明の実施の形態2に係るレンズ保持具の構造を示す縦断面図である。図3及び図4に示すように、実施の形態2に係るレンズ保持具200は、ワーク1を保持するヘッド部220と、該ヘッド部220を傾動及び回転可能に支持するカンザシ210とを備える。
 カンザシ210は、実施の形態1(図1参照)と同様に、内部に排気路115が形成され、先端に支持部114が設けられた軸部111と、該軸部111に対して外周側に突出するように設けられた突出部211と、該突出部211の切り欠き212に配置されたシール部材213とを有する。これらの各部の構成及び機能は、実施の形態1と同様であり、突出部211及びシール部材213の寸法が、ヘッド部220の内部空間224の形状に応じて、実施の形態1と異なっている。実施の形態2において、軸部111の回転対称軸を中心軸A21とする。
 ヘッド部220は、実施の形態1(図1参照)と同様に、中心軸A22を回転対称軸とする円筒形状をなし、ネジ部223により互いに螺合されたヘッド本体下部221及びヘッド本体上部222によって構成され、内部には、カンザシ210の突出部211を収納できる大きさの内部空間224が形成されている。また、ヘッド本体下部221には、ワーク受け部124と、吸引孔128と、先端受け部129とが形成されている。一方、ヘッド本体上部222には、内部空間224をヘッド部220の外部と連通する開口225が形成されている。この開口225の径は、軸部111の径よりも大きく、突出部213の外径よりも小さい。これらの各部の構成及び機能は、実施の形態1と同様であり、カンザシ210を上方に引き上げた際にシール部材213が当接する内壁面226の形状が実施の形態1と異なっている。
 内壁面226は、中心軸A22を中心とする円錐台の側面の形状をなし、開口225の縁から外周側に向かうほど高さが低くなっている。即ち、内壁面224は、外周側に向かうほど、内部空間324の底面に近づく。図3に示すように、内壁面226の傾斜の角度は、カンザシ210の中心軸A21とヘッド部220の中心軸A22とを一致させた状態でヘッド部220を支持した場合に、カンザシ支点Q1とシール部材213の断面の中心Oとを通るラインが内壁面226と直交する角度にすると良い。逆に言えば、カンザシ支点Q1から内壁面226に下ろした垂線がシール部材213の中心Oを通るように、突出部213及びシール部材214の径及び高さを決定しても良い。
 このようなレンズ保持具200において、図4に示すように、カンザシ210を上方に引き上げると、シール部材213が内壁面226に当接して開口225を封止する。この状態で、排気路115に接続された真空吸引装置を作動させることにより、内部空間224が減圧され、ワーク受け部124に配置されたワーク1を吸着保持することができる。
 また、実施の形態2においては、内壁面226を傾斜させているので、ヘッド部220に対してカンザシ210が若干傾いた状態でカンザシ210を上方に引き上げた場合であっても、シール部材213の全体を内壁面226に当接させることができ、内部空間224の密閉性を充分に確保することが可能となる。
(実施の形態3)
 次に、本発明の実施の形態3について説明する。
 図5及び図6は、本発明の実施の形態3に係るレンズ保持具の構造を示す縦断面図である。図5及び図6に示すように、実施の形態3に係るレンズ保持具300は、ワーク1を保持するヘッド部320と、該ヘッド部320を傾動及び回転可能に支持するカンザシ310とを備える。
 カンザシ310は、実施の形態1(図1参照)と同様に、内部に排気路115が形成され、先端に支持部114が設けられた軸部111と、該軸部111に対して外周側に突出するように設けられた突出部311と、該突出部311の切り欠き312に配置されたシール部材313とを有する。これらの各部の構成及び機能は、実施の形態1と同様であり、突出部311及びシール部材313の寸法がヘッド部320の内部空間324の形状に応じて決定される点が、実施の形態1と異なっている。実施の形態3において、軸部111の回転対称軸を中心軸A31とする。
 ヘッド部320は、実施の形態1(図1参照)と同様に、中心軸A32を回転対称軸とする円筒形状をなし、ネジ部323により互いに螺合されたヘッド本体下部321及びヘッド本体上部322によって構成され、内部には、カンザシ310の突出部311を収納できる大きさの内部空間324が形成されている。また、ヘッド本体下部321には、ワーク受け部124と、吸引孔128と、先端受け部129とが形成されている。一方、ヘッド本体上部322には、内部空間324をヘッド部320の外部と連通する開口325が形成されている。この開口325の径は、軸部111の径よりも大きく、突出部313の外径よりも小さい。これらの各部の構成及び機能は、実施の形態1と同様であり、カンザシ310を上方に引き上げた際にシール部材313が当接する内壁面326の形状が実施の形態1と異なっている。
 内壁面326は、中心軸A32を中心とする球帯形状をなし、開口325の縁から外周側に向かうほど高さが低くなっている。即ち、内壁面326は、外周側に向かうほど、内部空間324の底面に近づく。ここで、球帯形状とは、球面を互いに平行な2つの平面によってカットした場合に、これらの平面によって挟まれた球面の一部の形状のことである。
 このようなレンズ保持具300において、図6に示すように、カンザシ310を上方に引き上げると、シール部材313が内壁面326に当接して開口325が封止される。この状態で、排気路115に接続された真空吸引装置を作動させることにより、内部空間324が減圧され、ワーク受け部124に配置されたワーク1を吸着保持することができる。
 ところで、ワーク1の加工を行う際には、図5に示すように、カンザシ310の中心軸A31が加工工具130の加工面133の球心Q2を通るように、カンザシ310及びヘッド320の位置及び向きを調整した上で加工を開始する。しかしながら、図7に示すように、ワーク1の加工を行っている間に、ワーク1が加工工具130の回転に従動し、カンザシ310の中心軸A31が加工面133の球心Q2からずれてしまう場合がある(以下、軸ズレという)。このような場合、図8に示すように、加工終了後にカンザシ310を上方に引き上げると、カンザシ310に対してヘッド部320が傾いたまま、ヘッド部320を吊持する状態となる。しかしながら、本実施の形態3においては、シール部材313が当接する内壁面326の形状を球面形状としているので、ヘッド部320の傾きによらず、シール部材313の全体を内壁面326に密着させることができ、内部空間324の密閉性を確保することが可能となる。
 次に、レンズ保持具300の各部の寸法の決定方法について説明する。
 まず、図9A及び図9Bを参照しながら、ヘッド部320の開口325の径Dの決定方法を説明する。図9Aは、軸ズレが生じている場合のレンズ保持具300の縦断面図であり、図9Bは、同レンズ保持具300をヘッド部320の中心軸A32の方向(図9Aの矢印参照)から見た上面図である。以下、このときの傾き角(球心Q2とカンザシ支点Q1とを結ぶラインと中心軸A31とのなす角)をθ、そのときの軸ズレ幅(中心軸A31と、軸ズレしていないときの該中心軸の位置A31’との距離)をSとする。
 開口面(中心軸A32と直交する面)におけるカンザシ310の直径をE、カンザシ310の振れ幅(開口面における中心軸A32と中心軸A31との間隔)をBとすると、傾き角θが最大となったときに開口325の径Dが次式(1)を満たしていれば、カンザシ310とヘッド部320との干渉を避けることができる。

 ここで、カンザシ310の直径Cは、C=E・cosθによって与えられる。また、カンザシ310の傾斜時におけるカンザシ支点Q1の高さ(球心Q2からカンザシ支点Q1までの長さを、軸ズレしていないときの中心軸の位置A31’に投影した長さ)Fは、球心Q2からカンザシ支点Q1までの距離Mを用いて、F=M・cosθによって与えられる。これより、E=CM/Fという関係が導かれる。
 一方、距離Mは、ワーク1の面頂からカンザシ支点Q1までの距離Hと、加工面133の曲率半径Rとの和(M=H+R)である。従って、傾斜時におけるカンザシ支点Q1の高さFは、距離Mと軸ズレ幅Sとを用いて、F=√(M2-S2)と表すことができる。なお、距離Mの算出方法は、後述する。
 ここで、カンザシ310の振れ幅Bとヘッド部320の深さ(ヘッド部320の開口面からカンザシ支点Q1までの距離)Aとは、tanθ=B/Aの関係にある。また、軸ズレ幅Sと傾斜時におけるカンザシ支点Q1の高さFとは、tanθ=S/Fの関係にある。これより、B=AS/Fの関係が導かれる。
 従って、開口325の径Dは、次式(2)によって与えられる。式(2)においては、任意の正の値2w1をWに置き換えている。

 次に、図10を参照しながら、シール部材313の径(断面の中心位置における径)Lの決定方法を説明する。図10は、軸ズレが生じている場合のレンズ保持具300の縦断面図である。
 カンザシ310が傾き角θだけ傾いている場合、中心軸A31の方向から見た開口325の径(傾き開口径)Gは、開口325の径D(式(2)参照)を用いて、次式(3)によって与えられる。

 次に、図11を参照しながら、カンザシ支点Q1を基準としたシール部材313の高さ(断面の中心位置における高さ)Yの決定方法を説明する。図11は、レンズ保持具300の縦断面図である。
 カンザシ310を傾動させた際のシール部材313の傾動半径Vは、内壁面326の曲率半径Q、シール部材313と内壁面326とのクリアランスZ、及びシール部材313の断面における半径Xを用いて、次式(6)によって与えられる。

 次に、図12を参照しながら、加工面133の球心Q2を基準としたカンザシ支点Q1の高さ(距離M)の決定方法を説明する。図12は、レンズ保持具300の縦断面図である。
 加工面133の球心Q2を基準としたワーク1の端面1bの高さNは、加工面133の曲率半径Rと、ワーク1における加工半径Uとを用いて、次式(8)によって与えられる。ここで、加工半径Uは、被加工面1aの縁部(端面1bとの境界)からワーク1の回転中心軸(ヘッド部320の中心軸A32)までの距離である。

 以上説明したように、実施の形態3によれば、内部空間324の内壁面326の形状を球面形状としたので、カンザシ310に対してヘッド部320が傾いた状態で、カンザシ310を上方に引き上げた場合であっても、シール部材313の全体を内壁面326に当接させることができる。従って、内部空間324の密閉性を維持し、ワーク1を確実に吸着保持することが可能となる。
 また、実施の形態3によれば、上述したように開口325の径D等の各部の寸法を決定するので、ワーク1の加工の最中に、カンザシ310に対してヘッド部320が傾いたとしても、カンザシ310とヘッド部320とが干渉することはなく、ヘッド部320の自由な回転(加工工具130に対する従動回転)が妨げられることはない。従って、ワーク1に対する加工精度の低下を抑制することができる。
 次に、上記実施の形態1~3に係るレンズ保持具100~300を用いたレンズの作製方法を説明する。以下においては、一例としてレンズ保持具300を用いた場合を図示して説明するが、レンズ保持具100及び200を用いる場合であっても、同様の方法によりレンズを作製することができる。なお、レンズの作製に先立ち、レンズ受け部124にバッキング材2を予め貼付しておく。
 まず、図6に示すように、バッキング材2を介してワーク1をレンズ受け部124に当接させた状態で、カンザシ310を上方に引き上げてシール部材313を内壁面326に当接させると共に、排気路115に接続された真空吸引装置を作動させる。それにより、内部空間324が減圧され、ワーク1がレンズ受け部124に吸着される。このようにワーク1を保持した状態で、ワーク1の被加工面1aに、加工工具130の加工面133を当接させる。加工工具130は、図示しないレンズ加工装置に取り付けられており、該レンズ加工装置に駆動されて中心軸A13回りに回転する。
 その後、真空吸引装置を停止させ、図5に示すように、カンザシ310の支持部114を先端受け部129に当接させて、カンザシ310によりヘッド部320を支持する。この状態で、図示しないレンズ加工装置を作動させて加工工具130を回転させる。それにより、ワーク1及びこれを保持するヘッド部320が加工工具130に従動して回転し、ワーク1の被加工面1aが加工面133により加工(研削又は研磨)される。
 ワーク1に対する加工の終了後、カンザシ310を上方に引き上げてシール部材313を内壁面326に当接させると共に、排気路115に接続された真空吸引装置を作動させる。それにより、内部空間324が再び減圧され、ワーク1がレンズ受け部124に吸着される。その状態で、図13に示すように、カンザシ310をさらに上方に引き上げてヘッド部320を吊持し、加工工具130からワーク1を引き離す。そして、ユーザの手などでワーク1を支え、真空吸引装置を停止させてワーク1をレンズ保持具300から引き離す。それにより、所望の加工がなされたワーク1(レンズ)が得られる。
 以上説明した実施の形態1~3は、本発明を実施するための例にすぎず、本発明はこれらに限定されるものではない。また、本発明は、実施の形態1~3に開示されている複数の構成要素を適宜組み合わせることによって、種々の発明を形成できる。本発明は、仕様等に応じて種々変形することが可能であり、更に本発明の範囲内において、他の様々な実施の形態が可能である。

Claims (6)

  1.  加工対象である光学部材を保持するヘッド部と、該ヘッド部を回転可能に支持するカンザシと、を備え、
     前記カンザシは、
     内部に排気路が設けられた軸部と、
     前記軸部に対して外周側に突出するように設けられた突出部と、
     前記突出部に設けられたシール部材と、
     前記軸部の先端に設けられた球状の一部をなす支持部と、
    を有し、
     前記ヘッド部には、
     前記光学部材を保持するワーク受け部と、
     前記突出部を収容する内部空間と、
     前記軸部の径より大きく、前記突出部の外径よりも小さい径を有し、前記内部空間を当該ヘッド部の外部と連通する開口と、
     前記内部空間を前記ワーク受け部と連通する吸引孔と、
     前記支持部が当接可能な先端受け部と、
    が設けられていることを特徴とするレンズ保持具。
  2.  前記カンザシによって前記ヘッド部を吊持した場合に、前記シール部材が前記ヘッド部の内壁面に当接して、前記開口が封止されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のレンズ保持具。
  3.  前記内壁面は、前記開口の縁から外周側に向かうほど、前記内部空間の底面に近づくことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載のレンズ保持具。
  4.  前記内壁面は、球帯形状をなすことを特徴とする請求項3に記載のレンズ保持具。
  5.  前記内壁面は、円錐台の側面の形状をなすことを特徴とする請求項3に記載のレンズ保持具。
  6.  前記支持部を前記先端受け部に当接させ、前記カンザシの中心軸と前記ヘッド部の中心軸とを一致させた場合に、前記支持部の球心から前記内壁面に下ろした垂線が前記シール部材の断面の中心を通るように、前記シール部材が配置されていることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のレンズ保持具。
