エチレン性不飽和酸無水物単量体の具体例としては、無水マレイン酸、無水イタコン酸等を挙げることができる。
また、エチレン性不飽和酸アミド単量体の具体例としては、(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-メチロール(メタ)アクリルアミド、N,N-ジメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、(メタ)アクリルアミド-2-メチルプロパンスルホン酸およびそのナトリウム塩等を挙げることができる。
なお、本発明において、「(メタ)アクリル」は、「アクリル」および/または「メタクリル」を意味する。
本発明においては、これらの中でも、芳香族ビニル単量体とブタジエンとの共重合ゴムおよびアクリロニトリルとブタジエンとの共重合体ゴムが好ましい。
ポリマーの濃度が低すぎると、ラテックスの粘度が低すぎて、ラテックスの貯蔵中にポリマー分が分離する恐れがある。逆にポリマーの濃度が高すぎると、ポリマー分が凝集してしまう恐れがある。
勿論、溶液重合法や懸濁重合法で製造したポリマーを一旦固形ポリマーとして、これを溶媒に溶解または分散させ、エマルション状態としてから使用することも可能である。
そして、テトラヒドロフラン不溶分量の調整方法には特に制限がなく、(i)重合温度、単量体の種類および量などの選定によってポリマーの架橋度を調整する、(ii)反応抑制剤などによりテトラヒドロフラン不溶分の生成量を調整する、(iii)テトラヒドロフラン不溶分量の異なるポリマーをブレンドする、などの方法が挙げられる。
本発明に係るラテックス組成物が含有するカーボンナノチューブは、平均直径(Av)と直径分布(3σ)とが、関係式:0.60>3σ/Av>0.20を満たすことを必要とする。平均直径(Av)に対する直径分布(3σ)の比が0.20超0.60未満のカーボンナノチューブを、上述したテトラヒドロフラン不溶分量のポリマーと組み合わせることにより、カーボンナノチューブが少量であっても、優れた導電性を示す複合材料および導電性成形体を得ることができる。なお、ラテックス組成物を用いて得られる複合材料および導電性成形体の特性を更に向上させる観点からは、カーボンナノチューブは、関係式:0.60>3σ/Av>0.25を満たすことがより好ましく、関係式:0.60>3σ/Av>0.50を満たすことがさらに好ましい。
なお、平均直径(Av)および直径分布(3σ)は、カーボンナノチューブの製造方法や製造条件を変更することにより調整してもよいし、異なる製法で得られたカーボンナノチューブを複数種類組み合わせることにより調整してもよい。
なお、カーボンナノチューブの比表面積は、BET法により窒素吸着比表面積として求めることができる。
ラテックス組成物には、複合材料の成形性および導電性成形体の機械的強度確保などのため、任意に架橋剤を配合してもよい。また、ラテックス組成物には、複合材料および導電性成形体の特性の改良または維持のために、任意に、可塑剤、酸化防止剤、熱安定剤、光安定剤、紫外線吸収剤、顔料、着色剤、発泡剤、難燃剤、滑剤、軟化剤、粘着付与剤、離型剤、防臭剤、香料等を配合してもよい。
なお、これらの添加剤は、ラテックス組成物に配合することなく、ラテックス組成物を用いて製造した複合材料に直接配合してもよい。また、添加剤は、一部をラテックス組成物に配合し、残部を複合材料に直接配合してもよい。
なお、硫黄系架橋剤を用いる場合には、亜鉛華、ステアリン酸などの架橋助剤;グアニジン系、アルデヒド-アミン系、アルデヒド-アンモニア系、チアゾール系、スルフェンアミド系、チオ尿素系などの架橋促進剤を併用することができる。
なお、有機過酸化物架橋剤を用いる場合には、架橋助剤としてトリメタクリル酸トリメチロールプロパン、ジビニルベンゼン、ジメタクリル酸エチレン、イソシアヌル酸トリアリルなどの多官能性化合物などを併用することができる。
また、硫黄系架橋剤と併用する架橋助剤および架橋促進剤の使用量は、特に限定されることなく、ポリマー100質量部に対して、好ましくは0.1質量部以上10質量部以下の範囲である。
更に、有機過酸化物架橋剤と併用する架橋助剤の使用量は、特に限定されることなく、ポリマー100質量部に対して、好ましくは0.5質量部以上20質量部以下の範囲である。

上述したラテックスと上述したカーボンナノチューブとを混合し、ラテックス組成物を調製する方法に格別な制限はない。ラテックス組成物を調製する方法としては、例えば、(I)ラテックス中に、カーボンナノチューブの粉体を加え、分散処理により分散する方法、(II)ラテックスと、あらかじめ水などの溶媒中に分散させたカーボンナノチューブ分散液とを混合する方法、などが挙げられる。中でも、カーボンナノチューブの分散性を高める観点からは、上記(II)の方法が好ましい。
本発明の複合材料は、上述したラテックス組成物を用いて調製することができる。具体的には、複合材料は、例えば、上述したラテックス組成物をそのまま乾燥させることにより、或いは、上述したラテックス組成物を凝固させてクラムを生成させ、生成したクラムを乾燥させることにより、得られる。そして、上述したラテックス組成物を用いて調製した複合材料は、上述したポリマーとカーボンナノチューブとを含有しているので、導電性などの性能に優れている。
本発明の導電性成形体は、上述した複合材料を用いて調製することができる。ここで、複合材料を用いて成形体を得る方法としては、特に限定されることなく、所望の成形品形状に応じた成形機、例えば押出機、射出成形機、圧縮機、ロール機等により成形を行い、必要に応じて形状を固定化するために架橋する方法が挙げられる。予め成形した後に架橋しても、成形と架橋とを同時に行ってもよい。成形温度は、好ましくは10~200℃、より好ましくは25~120℃である。架橋温度は、好ましくは100~200℃、より好ましくは130~190℃、特に好ましくは140~180℃であり、架橋時間は、好ましくは1分間~5時間、より好ましくは2分間~1時間である。

得られたSGCNT-1は、BET比表面積が1050m2/gであり、ラマン分光光度計での測定において、単層カーボンナノチューブに特長的な100~300cm-1の低波数領域にラジアルブリージングモード(RBM)のスペクトルが観察された。また、透過型電子顕微鏡を用い、無作為に100本のSGCNT-1の直径を測定した結果、平均直径(Av)が3.3nm、直径分布(3σ)が1.9nm、(3σ/Av)が0.58であった。
1質量%ラウリル硫酸ナトリウム(花王製、製品名「エマール(登録商標)O」)水溶液300mLにSGCNT-1を30mg加え、ジェットミル(常光製、製品名「JN20」)を用いて、凝集体のないSGCNT-1分散液を得た。
<製造例3>
1質量%ラウリル硫酸ナトリウム(花王製、製品名「エマール(登録商標)O」)水溶液300mLにHiPco(登録商標)を30mg加えた以外は製造例2と同様の操作を行ない、凝集体のないHiPco-1分散液を得た。このHiPco(登録商標)は、NanoIntegris Inc.社製であり、BET比表面積が700m2/gである。また、透過型電子顕微鏡を用い、無作為に100本のHiPco(登録商標)の直径を測定した結果、平均直径(Av)が1.1nm、直径分布(3σ)が0.2nm、(3σ/Av)が0.18であった。
<製造例4>
1質量%ラウリル硫酸ナトリウム(花王製、製品名「エマール(登録商標)O」)水溶液300mLにNC7000を30mg加えた以外は製造例2と同様の操作を行ない、凝集体のないNC7000-1分散液を得た。このNC7000は、Nanocyl社製であり、BET比表面積が290m2/gである。また、透過型電子顕微鏡を用い、無作為に100本のNC7000の直径を測定した結果、平均直径(Av)が9.3nm、直径分布(3σ)が2.6nm、(3σ/Av)が0.28であった。
SGCNT-1分散液5.063gおよび0.5gのアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本A&L社製、製品名「サイアテックス(登録商標)NA-20」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴム(ポリマー)のTHF不溶分量=70%)をポリマー100部に対して2部のカーボンナノチューブが含まれる比率で混合し、1時間撹拌することによりSGCNT-1/ゴムの混合溶液(ラテックス組成物)を得た。この混合溶液をガラスシャーレへ注ぎいれ、50℃で48時間、乾燥空気フロー環境中で保持することで水分を蒸発させて塗工膜(複合材料)を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、83Ω/sq.であった。
<実施例1-2>
実施例1-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx554」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=60%)に変更した以外は実施例1-1と同様の操作を行い、塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、117Ω/sq.であった。
<実施例1-3>
実施例1-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx553」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=43%)に変更した以外は実施例1-1と同様の操作を行い、塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、134Ω/sq.であった。
<実施例1-4>
実施例1-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx552」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=27%)に変更した以外は実施例1-1と同様の操作を行い、塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、176Ω/sq.であった。
<比較例1>
実施例1-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx551」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=0%)に変更した以外は実施例1-1と同様の操作を行い、塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、504Ω/sq.であった。
ポリマー100部に対するカーボンナノチューブの量が1部となるようにSGCNT-1分散液2.521gおよびラテックス0.5gへ混合比を変更した以外は実施例1-1と同様の操作を行い、塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、2117Ω/sq.であった。
<実施例2-2>
ポリマー100部に対するカーボンナノチューブの量が1部となるようにラテックスとSGCNT-1分散液の混合比を実施例2-1と同様に変更した以外は実施例1-2と同様の操作を行い、塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、2476Ω/sq.であった。
<実施例2-3>
ポリマー100部に対するカーボンナノチューブの量が1部となるようにラテックスとSGCNT-1分散液の混合比を実施例2-1と同様に変更した以外は実施例1-3と同様の操作を行い、塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、2825Ω/sq.であった。
<実施例2-4>
ポリマー100部に対するカーボンナノチューブの量が1部となるようにラテックスとSGCNT-1分散液の混合比を実施例2-1と同様に変更した以外は実施例1-4と同様の操作を行い、塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、2959Ω/sq.であった。
<比較例2>
ポリマー100部に対するカーボンナノチューブの量が1部となるようにラテックスとSGCNT-1分散液の混合比を実施例2-1と同様に変更した以外は比較例1と同様の操作を行い、塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、8025Ω/sq.であった。
NC7000-1分散液12.5gおよび0.5gのアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本A&L社製、製品名「サイアテックス(登録商標)NA-20」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=70%)をポリマー100部に対して5部のカーボンナノチューブが含まれる比率で混合し、1時間撹拌することによりNC7000-1/ゴムの混合溶液を得た。この混合溶液をガラスシャーレへ注ぎいれ、50℃で48時間、乾燥空気フロー環境中で保持することで水分を蒸発させて塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、1136Ω/sq.であった。
<実施例3-2>
実施例3-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx554」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=60%)に変更した以外は実施例3-1と同様の操作を行い、塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、1351Ω/sq.であった。
<実施例3-3>
実施例3-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx553」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=43%)に変更した以外は実施例3-1と同様の操作を行い、塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、1587Ω/sq.であった。
<実施例3-4>
実施例3-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx552」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=27%)に変更した以外は実施例3-1と同様の操作を行い、塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、1876Ω/sq.であった。
<比較例3>
実施例3-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx551」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=0%)に変更した以外は実施例3-1と同様の操作を行い、塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、測定不能(測定限界107Ω/sq.以上)であった。
SGCNT-1分散液5.063gおよび0.5gのアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本A&L社製、製品名「サイアテックス(登録商標)NA-20」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=70%)をポリマー100部に対して2部のカーボンナノチューブが含まれる比率で混合し、1時間撹拌することによりSGCNT-1/ゴムの混合溶液を得た。この混合溶液を2-プロパノールへ注ぎいれて凝固させ、1時間撹拌し、ろ過にて凝固物を回収した。凝固物を40℃で12時間減圧乾燥して得られた試験片を用いて体積導電率を測定したところ、0.51943S/cmであった。
<実施例4-2>
実施例4-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx554」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=60%)に変更した以外は実施例4-1と同様の操作を行い、試験片を得た。体積導電率を測定したところ、0.42786S/cmであった。
<実施例4-3>
実施例4-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx553」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=43%)に変更した以外は実施例4-1と同様の操作を行い、試験片を得た。体積導電率を測定したところ、0.32582S/cmであった。
<実施例4-4>
実施例4-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx552」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=27%)に変更した以外は実施例4-1と同様の操作を行い、試験片を得た。体積導電率を測定したところ、0.26036S/cmであった。
<比較例4>
実施例4-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx551」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=0%)に変更した以外は実施例4-1と同様の操作を行い、試験片を得た。体積導電率を測定したところ、0.03214S/cmであった。
SGCNT-1分散液2.516gおよび0.5gのアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本A&L社製、製品名「サイアテックス(登録商標)NA-20」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=70%)をポリマー100部に対して1部のカーボンナノチューブが含まれる比率で混合し、1時間撹拌することによりSGCNT-1/ゴムの混合溶液を得た。この混合溶液を2-プロパノールへ注ぎいれて凝固させ、1時間撹拌し、ろ過にて凝固物を回収した。凝固物を40℃で12時間減圧乾燥して得られた試験片を用いて体積導電率を測定したところ、0.052428S/cmであった。
<実施例5-2>
実施例5-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx554」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=60%)に変更した以外は実施例5-1と同様の操作を行い、試験片を得た。体積導電率を測定したところ、0.048729S/cmであった。
<実施例5-3>
実施例5-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx553」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=43%)に変更した以外は実施例5-1と同様の操作を行い、試験片を得た。体積導電率を測定したところ、0.044414S/cmであった。
<実施例5-4>
実施例5-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx552」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=27%)に変更した以外は実施例5-1と同様の操作を行い、試験片を得た。体積導電率を測定したところ、0.021484S/cmであった。
<比較例5>
実施例5-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx551」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=0%)に変更した以外は実施例5-1と同様の操作を行い、試験片を得た。体積導電率を測定したところ、0.00041142S/cmであった。
HiPco-1分散液5.021gおよび0.5gのアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本A&L社製、製品名「サイアテックス(登録商標)NA-20」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=70%)をポリマー100部に対して2部のカーボンナノチューブが含まれる比率で混合し、1時間撹拌することによりHIPCO-1/ゴムの混合溶液を得た。この混合溶液をガラスシャーレへ注ぎいれ、50℃で48時間、乾燥空気フロー環境中で保持することで水分を蒸発させて塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、測定限界以上であった。
<比較例6-2>
比較例6-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx554」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=60%)に変更した以外は比較例6-1と同様の操作を行い、塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、測定限界以上であった。
<比較例6-3>
比較例6-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx553」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=43%)に変更した以外は比較例6-1と同様の操作を行い、塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、測定限界以上であった。

比較例6-1で用いたラテックスをアクリロニトリル・ブタジエン系ラテックス(日本ゼオン社製、製品名「Nipol(登録商標)Lx551」;アクリロニトリル・ブタジエンゴムのTHF不溶分量=0%)に変更した以外は比較例6-1と同様の操作を行い、塗工膜を得た。表面抵抗率を測定したところ、測定限界以上であった。
Claims (8)
- テトラヒドロフラン不溶分量が1質量%以上75質量%以下であるポリマーを含むラテックスと、
平均直径(Av)と直径分布(3σ)とが関係式:0.60>3σ/Av>0.20を満たすカーボンナノチューブと、
を含有するラテックス組成物。 - 前記ポリマー100質量部当たり、前記カーボンナノチューブを10質量部以下の割合で含む、請求項1に記載のラテックス組成物。
- 前記ポリマーが、共役ジエンゴムである、請求項1または2に記載のラテックス組成物。
- テトラヒドロフラン不溶分量が1質量%以上75質量%以下であるポリマーを含むラテックスに、平均直径(Av)と直径分布(3σ)とが関係式:0.60>3σ/Av>0.20を満たすカーボンナノチューブの分散液を配合する工程を含む、ラテックス組成物の製造方法。
- 平均直径(Av)と直径分布(3σ)とが関係式:0.60>3σ/Av>0.20を満たすカーボンナノチューブを、キャビテーション効果が得られる分散処理によって溶媒に分散させ、前記カーボンナノチューブの分散液を得る工程を更に含む、請求項4に記載のラテックス組成物の製造方法。
- 前記分散処理が、超音波による分散処理、ジェットミルによる分散処理および高剪断撹拌による分散処理からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一つの分散処理である、請求項5に記載のラテックス組成物の製造方法。
- 請求項1~3の何れかに記載のラテックス組成物または請求項4~6の何れかに記載のラテックス組成物の製造方法を用いて製造されたラテックス組成物を用いて得られる複合材料。
- 請求項7に記載の複合材料を成形してなる導電性成形体。
