Abstract

 静電容量方式のタッチセンサ(26c~26h、35a~35d)に対するタッチを検出するタッチ検出装置(21、34)が提供される。タッチ検出装置(21、34)は、静電容量方式のダミーセンサ(11a、11b、33a~33d)と、静電容量検出部(22)と、タッチ判定部(25)とを備える。前記タッチ判定部(25)は、前記ダミーセンサ(11a、11b、33a~33d)の静電容量の変化量が所定の判定値を超えると、前記タッチセンサ(26c~26h、35a~35d)に対するタッチの有無の判定を無効にする。静電容量方式のタッチセンサを用いたスイッチ(7c~7h)と、タッチ検出装置(21)と、を備えた車両用ナビゲーション装置(1)が提供される。

Description

タッチ検出装置および車両用ナビゲーション装置 関連出願の相互参照
 本出願は、2013年9月5日に出願された日本国特許出願2013-183979号に基づくものであり、ここにその記載内容を参照により援用する。
 本開示は、静電容量方式のタッチセンサに対するタッチを検出するタッチ検出装置およびそれを備えた車両用ナビゲーション装置に関する。
 各種装置における操作用スイッチとして、静電容量方式のタッチセンサを用いたタッチスイッチがある。このようなタッチスイッチに対するタッチ(例えば人の指などの人体の接触)は、次のようにして検出される。すなわち、人体(例えば、手指)がタッチセンサの電極に接触していない状態での静電容量値を基準値とし、その基準値とタッチセンサの静電容量の検出値とを比較した結果(つまり、静電容量値の変化)を用いて、タッチの有無が判定される。
 このような静電容量方式のタッチセンサは、外来電波ノイズによる影響で、意図しない動作、つまり誤動作を生じるおそれがある。このような誤動作を防止するため、ノイズの影響を極力排除するといったイミュニティ(Immunity)対策が種々考えられている。例えば、特許文献1には、ダミー電極(ダミーセンサ)を用いて環境的な電波ノイズを検知し、タッチ電極(タッチセンサ)に対する誤判定を防止する技術が開示されている。この場合、ダミーセンサはタッチセンサに対するタッチ操作に影響されない程度に離れた距離に配置され、そのダミーセンサに対するタッチ操作(静電容量値の変化)が検出されると、タッチセンサに対する操作有りの判定を破棄するようになっている。
 本願発明者は、タッチ検出装置および車両用ナビゲーション装置に関して以下を見出した。
 タッチセンサは、外来電波ノイズによる影響だけでなく、ユーザによる意図しない接触に起因して誤動作するおそれがある。このような誤動作は、タッチセンサを用いたスイッチから極めて近い位置に、別の操作部(例えば、プッシュスイッチ、操作ノブなど)が配置されるようなレイアウトにおいて生じ易い。このようなレイアウトの場合、ユーザが、タッチセンサの近傍に位置する操作部を操作しようとしたとき、その手指が意図せずにタッチスイッチに接触するおそれがあり、そうすると、意図しない誤った動作が行われることになるおそれがある。このようなユーザによる意図しない接触に起因する誤動作は、上述したようなイミュニティ対策では防止することができない。

 本開示は上記事情に鑑みてなされたものであり、その目的は、ユーザによる意図しない接触に起因した誤動作および外来電波ノイズに起因した誤動作を防止することができるタッチ検出装置およびそれを備えた車両用ナビゲーション装置を提供することにある。
 本開示の一例によれば、ユーザによりタッチ操作される静電容量方式のタッチセンサに対するタッチを検出するタッチ検出装置が提供される。タッチ検出装置は、タッチセンサの近傍に設けられユーザにより操作される操作部に配置された静電容量方式のダミーセンサと、前記タッチセンサおよび前記ダミーセンサの静電容量の値を検出する静電容量検出部と、前記静電容量検出部の検出値に基づいて前記タッチセンサに対するタッチの有無を判定するタッチ判定部と、を備える。前記タッチ判定部は、前記ダミーセンサの静電容量の変化量が所定の判定値を超えると、前記タッチセンサに対するタッチの有無の判定を無効にする。
 本開示の一例によれば、静電容量方式のタッチセンサを用いたスイッチと、タッチ検出装置とを備えた車両用ナビゲーション装置が提供される。ダミーセンサが配置される前記操作部は、前記スイッチの近傍に設けられユーザにより操作される操作ノブであり、前記タッチ検出装置を用いて前記スイッチに対するタッチ操作を検出する。
 本開示に係るタッチ検出装置および車両用ナビゲーション装置によれば、操作部の操作を行うべく、ユーザの手指が操作部に接触(または接近)すると、ダミーセンサの静電容量が変化する。そして、ダミーセンサの静電容量の変化量が判定値を超えると、タッチ判定部がタッチセンサに対する判定を無効にする。このようにすれば、ユーザが操作部の操作を行っている期間、タッチセンサに対するタッチの有無の判定が行われない。従って、ユーザの手指が誤ってタッチセンサに触れたとしても、誤動作の発生を防ぐことができる。
 本開示に係るタッチ検出装置および車両用ナビゲーション装置によれば、外来電波ノイズによる誤動作の発生についても、次のように防止することができる。すなわち、外来電波ノイズが発生した環境においては、タッチセンサおよびダミーセンサの静電容量が同様に変化する。そして、タッチ判定部は、ダミーセンサの静電容量の変化量が判定値を超えた時点で、タッチセンサに対するタッチの有無の判定を無効にする。このようにすれば、外来電波ノイズが周辺に発生している場合、タッチセンサに対するタッチの有無の判定が行われない。従って、外来電波ノイズによりタッチセンサの静電容量が変化したとしても、誤動作の発生を防ぐことができる。このように、本開示によれば、ユーザによる意図しない接触に起因した誤動作および外来電波ノイズに起因した誤動作をいずれも防止することができる。

 以下、本開示の複数の実施形態について図面を参照して説明する。なお、各実施形態において実質的に同一の構成には同一の符号を付して説明を省略する。
 (第1の実施形態)
 以下、第1の実施形態について図1~図4を参照しながら説明する。
 図1に示すように、車両用ナビゲーション装置1は、装置の動作全般を制御する機能を有した制御回路2に対して、位置検出器3、外部メモリ4、キーポジション検出部5、地図データ入力装置6、入力操作部7、表示部8および音声出力装置9などが接続されている。
 制御回路2は、マイクロコンピュータを主体として構成されており、CPU、ROM、AM、I/Oおよびこれらを接続するバスなど(いずれも図示せず)を備えている。このうち、ROMにはカーナビゲーション装置を動作させるための制御プログラムなどが格納され、RAMにはプログラム実行時の処理データや地図データ入力装置6から取得した地図データなどが一時的に格納される。
 位置検出器3は、GPS(Global Positioning System)衛星からのGPS信号を受信して車両の位置を検出するGPS受信機3a、車両の進行方向を検出するジャイロスコープ3b、車両の前後方向への速度を検出する車速センサ3c、車両の進行方位を検出する地磁気センサ3dなどを備えている。それら各センサは、それぞれが固有の性質に基づく誤差を有しているため、互いの出力結果をそれぞれ補間しながら使用される。なお、要求される精度によっては、位置検出器3は、これらの一部のみで構成してもよいし、さらに、ステアリングの操舵角を検出する回転センサや、各転動輪に配置される車輪センサなどを加えてもよい。
 外部メモリ4は、例えばフラッシュメモリカードなどにより構成されたもので、例えば、地点登録データ、音楽データおよび映像データなどの特定データの保存や呼出などを行うために設けられている。キーポジション検出部5は、車両用ナビゲーション装置1が搭載されている自動車(車両)のイグニッションスイッチ(図示せず)のキー位置(キーポジション)を検出することによってエンジンのオン/オフ、すなわち、電源のオン/オフを検出する機能を有している。また、地図データは、地図データを含む各種データを入力するための地図データ入力装置6を介して入力される。地図データ入力装置6の記憶媒体は、そのデータ量からCD-ROM、DVDもしくはハードディスクなどが一般的であるが、メモリカードなどの他の媒体であってもよい。
 表示部8は、地図や文字などを表示するための例えばカラー液晶ディスプレイを含み、車両の運転席近傍に設置される。表示部8の画面には、位置検出器3より入力された車両の現在位置を示すマーカと、地図データ入力装置6を介して入力された地図データと、さらに地図上に表示する誘導経路や設定地点の目印などの付加データとが重畳して表示される。さらに、ユーザによる目的地などの検索および入力のための各種入力画面、並びに各種のメッセージやインフォメーションなども表示される。さらに、車両用ナビゲーション装置1は、走行案内をドライバに、音声出力装置9を介して音声により報知し、表示部8による表示と音声出力装置9による音声出力との双方でドライバに走行案内を行う。
 図1および図2Aと図2Bに示すように、入力操作部7は、表示部8と一体的に配置され、例えば抵抗膜方式を用いてなるタッチパネル7i、本体10の前面部であって表示部8の周囲(左右)に配置されたスイッチ7a~7hなどで構成され、各種入力に使用される。スイッチ7aおよび7b(操作部に相当)は、メカニカルなスイッチ(ハードスイッチ)であり、回転操作および押圧操作の両方が可能な操作ノブである。なお、以下では、スイッチ7a、7bのことを操作ノブ7a、7bとも呼ぶ。スイッチ7c~7hは、静電容量方式のタッチセンサを用いた構成、つまりタッチスイッチである。
 操作ノブ7aおよび7bには、それぞれダミーセンサ11a、11bが設けられている。ダミーセンサ11a、11bは、静電容量方式のタッチセンサを用いたものである。詳細な図示は省略するが、ダミーセンサ11a、11bは、ユーザの手指などが操作ノブ7aおよび7bに触れた際、その手指との間で静電容量結合を行い得るような箇所(図2Aと図2Bにおけるハッチング箇所)に配置される。
 なお、ダミーセンサ11a、11bは、スイッチ7c~7hと重複しない位置であれば、ユーザの手指などが操作ノブ7aおよび7bに接近した際、その手指との間で静電容量結合を行い得るような箇所に配置してもよい。ダミーセンサ11a、11bは、所望の操作を行う目的で設けられたものではなく、入力操作部7における誤動作を防止することを目的として設けられている。
 なお、このようなタッチスイッチが、さらに表示部8の上下にも配置されてもよい。また、これら操作子7a~7iと同等の機能を有するリモコン(図示せず)も設けられており、このリモコンからの操作信号は、リモコンセンサ7jを通じて制御回路2に与えられる。
 スイッチ7c~7hおよびダミーセンサ11a、11bに対するタッチ操作、つまりタッチセンサに対するタッチは、図3に示すタッチ検出装置21により検出される。なお、図1では、タッチ検出装置21の図示を省略している。タッチ検出装置21による検出結果は、制御回路2に与えられる。タッチ検出装置21は、静電容量検出部22(静電容量検出部に相当)、タッチ検出部23および判定制御部24により構成される。本実施形態では、タッチ検出部23および判定制御部24により、タッチ判定部25が構成されている。
 静電容量検出部22は、スイッチ7c~7hのそれぞれに対応するタッチセンサ26c~26hの静電容量の値を検出する。また、静電容量検出部22は、ダミーセンサ11a、11bの静電容量の値も検出する。静電容量検出部22により検出されるタッチセンサ26c~26hおよびダミーセンサ11a、11bの静電容量の検出値は、タッチ検出部23に与えられる。
 タッチ検出部23は、静電容量検出部22から与えられる静電容量の検出値に基づいて、タッチセンサ26c~26hに対するタッチ(ひいてはスイッチ7c~7hに対するタッチ操作)の有無を判定する。また、タッチ検出部23は、静電容量検出部22から与えられる静電容量の検出値に基づいて、ダミーセンサ11a、11bに対するタッチ(ひいては操作ノブ7a、7bに対する操作)の有無を判定する。この場合、タッチ検出部23は、タッチセンサ26c~26hまたはダミーセンサ11a、11bの静電容量の変化量が所定の判定値を超えると、そのセンサに対するタッチが有ったと判定する。タッチ検出部23は、判定制御部24から処理を実行する旨の指令が与えられると、上述したタッチの有無を判定する処理を実行する。
 タッチ検出部23は、タッチセンサ26c~26hおよびダミーセンサ11a、11bに対するタッチの有無に関する情報(操作検知情報)を判定制御部24に対して出力する。判定制御部24は、所定周期(例えば1/1000秒)毎に、タッチ検出部23に対してタッチの有無を判定するよう指令する。判定制御部24は、タッチ検出部23から与えられる操作検知情報に基づいて、タッチセンサ26c~26hに対するタッチの有無を最終判定する。判定制御部24による最終判定の結果は、タッチセンサ26c~26h、つまりスイッチ7c~7hの操作結果として、制御回路2に与えられる。
 次に、タッチ検出装置21によるタッチセンサ26c~26hに対するタッチの検出動作について、図4のフローチャートに沿って説明する。
 まず、判定制御部24からタッチ検出部23に対し、ダミーセンサ11a、11bに対するタッチの有無を判定する処理の実行が指令される(ステップS1)。そして、判定制御部24は、タッチ検出部23から与えられる操作検知情報に基づいて、ダミーセンサ11a、11bに対するタッチの有無を判断する(ステップS2)。
 ダミーセンサ11a、11bの少なくとも一方に対するタッチが有ると判断された場合(S2:YES)、ステップS1に戻る。一方、ダミーセンサ11a、11bのいずれについてもタッチが無いと判断された場合(S2:NO)、ステップS3に進む。ステップS3では、判定制御部24からタッチ検出部23に対し、タッチセンサ26c~26hに対するタッチの有無を判定する処理の実行が指令される。そして、判定制御部24は、タッチ検出部23から与えられる操作検知情報に基づいて、タッチセンサ26c~26hに対するタッチの有無を最終判定する(ステップS4)。
 上述したように、判定制御部24は、まず、ダミーセンサ11a、11bに対するタッチの有無を判断する。そして、判定制御部24は、ダミーセンサ11a、11bの一方または双方に対するタッチが有ると判断した場合には、タッチセンサ26c~26hに対するタッチの有無の判定を行わない(無効にする)。そのため、スイッチ7cに近接する操作ノブ7aまたはスイッチ7fに近接する操作ノブ7bの操作が行われる際、ユーザによる意図しない接触に起因した誤動作の発生が、次のように防止される。
 すなわち、操作ノブ7aまたは7bの操作を行うべく、ユーザの手指が操作ノブ7aまたは7bに接触(または接近)すると、ダミーセンサ11aまたは11bの静電容量が変化する。そして、ダミーセンサ11a、11bの静電容量の変化量が判定値を超えると、タッチセンサ26c~26hに対するタッチの有無の判定が行われなくなる。そのため、ユーザが操作ノブ7aまたは7bの操作を行っている期間には、スイッチ7c、7fに対する操作の判定が行われない。従って、操作ノブ7aまたは7bを操作する際、ユーザの手指が誤ってスイッチ7cまたは7fに触れたとしても、意図しない誤動作が発生することはない。
 また、上記構成によれば、外来電波ノイズによる誤動作の発生についても、次のように防止することができる。すなわち、外来電波ノイズが発生した環境においては、タッチセンサ26c~26hおよびダミーセンサ11a、11bの静電容量が同様に変化する。そして、判定制御部24は、ダミーセンサ11a、11bの一方または双方に対するタッチが有ると判断すると、タッチセンサ26c~26hに対するタッチの有無の判定を行わない。つまり、ダミーセンサ11a、11bの一方または双方の静電容量の変化量が判定値を超えた時点で、タッチセンサ26c~26hに対するタッチの有無の判定が実施されなくなる。
 このようにすれば、外来電波ノイズが周辺に発生している場合、スイッチ7c~7hに対する操作の判定が行われない。従って、外来電波ノイズによりタッチセンサ26c~26hの静電容量が変化したとしても、誤動作が発生することはない。このように、本実施形態によれば、ユーザによる意図しない接触に起因した誤動作および外来電波ノイズに起因した誤動作をいずれも防止することができる。
 (第2の実施形態)
 第1の実施形態では、ダミーセンサ11a、11bのうち少なくとも一方に対するタッチが有ると判断された場合、全てのタッチセンサ26c~26hに対するタッチの有無の判定が無効にされていた。このようにすれば、処理が簡素化できるというメリットがある。一方で、「操作ノブ7aを操作しながらスイッチ7c以外のタッチスイッチを操作する」または「操作ノブ7bを操作しながらスイッチ7f以外のタッチスイッチを操作する」という稀なケースに対応することができない。以下、このようなケースに対応することができるように、タッチセンサに対するタッチの検出動作を変更した第2の実施形態について、図5を参照しながら説明する。
 まず、判定制御部24からタッチ検出部23に対し、ダミーセンサ11a、11bに対するタッチの有無を判定する処理の実行が指令される(ステップT1)。そして、判定制御部24は、タッチ検出部23から与えられる操作検知情報に基づいて、ダミーセンサ11aに対するタッチの有無を判断する(ステップT2)。ここで、ダミーセンサ11aに対するタッチが無いと判断された場合(T2:NO)、ステップT3に進む。
 ステップT3に進むと、判定制御部24は、上記操作検知情報に基づいて、ダミーセンサ11bに対するタッチの有無を判断する。ここで、ダミーセンサ11bに対するタッチが無いと判断された場合(T3:NO)、つまりダミーセンサ11a、11bのいずれについてもタッチが無いと判断された場合、ステップT4に進む。ステップT4では、判定制御部24からタッチ検出部23に対し、タッチセンサ26c~26hに対するタッチの有無を判定する処理の実行が指令される。
 また、ステップT3にて、ダミーセンサ11bに対するタッチが有ると判断された場合(YES)、ステップT5に進む。ステップT5では、判定制御部24からタッチ検出部23に対し、タッチセンサ26c~26e、26gおよび26hに対するタッチの有無を判定する処理の実行が指令される。
 一方、ステップT2にて、ダミーセンサ11aに対するタッチが有ると判断された場合(T2:YES)、ステップT6に進む。ステップT6では、ステップT3と同様に、ダミーセンサ11bに対するタッチの有無が判断される。ここで、ダミーセンサ11bに対するタッチが有ると判断された場合(YES)、つまりダミーセンサ11a、11bのいずれについてもタッチが有ると判断された場合、ステップT1に戻る。
 また、ステップT6にて、ダミーセンサ11bに対するタッチが無いと判断された場合(NO)、ステップT7に進む。ステップT7では、判定制御部24からタッチ検出部23に対し、タッチセンサ26d~26hに対するタッチの有無を判定する処理の実行が指令される。ステップT4、T5またはT7の実行後は、ステップT8に進む。ステップT8に進むと、判定制御部24は、タッチ検出部23から与えられる操作検知情報に基づいて、タッチセンサ26c~26hに対するタッチの有無を最終判定する。
 上述したように、本実施形態の判定制御部24は、2つのダミーセンサ11a、11bに対するタッチの有無を個別に判断している。そして、判定制御部24は、ダミーセンサ11aに対するタッチが有るとともにダミーセンサ11bに対するタッチが無いと判断した場合には、ダミーセンサ11aの近傍に設けられたタッチセンサ26cに対するタッチの有無の判定を行わない(無効にする)。そのため、スイッチ7cに近接する操作ノブ7aの操作が行われる際、ユーザによる意図しない接触に起因した誤動作の発生が、第1の実施形態と同様に防止される。しかも、この場合、タッチセンサ26d~26hに対するタッチの有無の判定は行われるため、「操作ノブ7aを操作しながらスイッチ7c以外のタッチスイッチを操作する」というケースに対応することができる。
 また、判定制御部24は、ダミーセンサ11aに対するタッチが無いとともにダミーセンサ11bに対するタッチが有ると判断した場合には、ダミーセンサ11bの近傍に設けられたタッチセンサ26fに対するタッチの有無の判定を行わない(無効にする)。そのため、スイッチ7fに近接する操作ノブ7bの操作が行われる際、ユーザによる意図しない接触に起因した誤動作の発生が、第1の実施形態と同様に防止される。しかも、この場合、タッチセンサ26c~26e、26gおよび26hに対するタッチの有無の判定は行われるため、「操作ノブ7bを操作しながらスイッチ7f以外のタッチスイッチを操作する」というケースに対応することができる。
 また、本実施形態の判定制御部24は、ダミーセンサ11a、11bの双方に対するタッチが有ると判断した場合には、全てのタッチセンサ26c~26hに対するタッチの有無の判定を行わない。そのため、外来電波ノイズによる誤動作の発生についても、第1の実施形態と同様に防止される。従って、本実施形態によれば、第1の実施形態と同様の効果が得られる上、ユーザによる多様な操作方法に対応することができるという優れた効果が得られる。
 (第3の実施形態)
 上記各実施形態では、タッチセンサ26c~26hと、ダミーセンサ11a、11bとのそれぞれに対するタッチの有無を判定するための判定値は同一の固定値であった。すなわち、上記各実施形態では、タッチセンサ26c~26hと、ダミーセンサ11a、11bとについて、同一の検出感度でもって、そのタッチを検出していた。しかし、タッチセンサ26c~26hと、ダミーセンサ11a、11bとについて、互いに別々の検出感度でもって、そのタッチを検出するように変更してもよい。このような変更の一例として、ダミーセンサ11a、11bの検出感度を、タッチセンサ26c~26hの検出感度に対し、各種の条件に応じて動的に変化させるということが考えられる。以下、上記各実施形態に対し、このような変更を加えた第3の実施形態について説明する。
 (車両の走行状態に応じてダミーセンサの検出感度を変更する第1の例)
 車両用ナビゲーション装置1が搭載された車両が走行しているときには、それに伴う振動により、ユーザの手元がおぼつかない可能性がある。そのため、車両の走行中には、ユーザの手指の意図しない接触による誤動作が発生し易い。そこで、ダミーセンサ11a、11bの判定値を、車両が停車中であるときには通常の値に設定するとともに、車両が走行中であるときには通常よりも低い値に設定する。つまり、車両が走行中であるとき、タッチセンサ26c~26hの検出感度に対し、ダミーセンサ11a、11bの検出感度を高くする(重み付けを行う)。
 つまり、ダミーセンサ11a、11bの通常の判定値は、車両が停車中であって、ユーザの手指が操作ノブ7aまたは7bに接触(または接近)した場合の、ダミーセンサ11aまたは11bの静電容量の変化量である。
 このようにすれば、操作ノブ7a、7bに対し、ユーザの手指が完全に接触している場合だけでなく、若干離れた場合にも、ダミーセンサ11a、11bに対するタッチが有ると判断され易くなる。そのため、ユーザが操作ノブ7aまたは7bを操作する際、車両の走行に伴う振動により、その手元がおぼつかない場合でも、その近傍に配置されたスイッチ7cまたは7fが意図せず操作有りと判定されてしまう誤動作の発生を確実に防止することができる。
 (車両の走行状態に応じてダミーセンサの検出感度を変更する第2の例)
 操作ノブ7a、7bに対し、例えば目的地設定やオーディオソースの切替機能など、走行中に使用不可能となる(無効化される)機能が割り付けられている場合、その操作ノブ7a、7bが車両の走行中に操作されることはない。このような場合、操作ノブ7a、7bに配置されたダミーセンサ11a、11bの機能(ユーザの手指が意図せずにスイッチ7c、7fに接触することで生じる誤動作を防止する機能)を無効化してもよい。
 そこで、例えば、操作ノブ7aに対して走行中に操作されることがない機能が割り付けられている場合、操作ノブ7aに対応するダミーセンサ11aの判定値を通常よりも高い値(通常考えられる静電容量の変化量の最大値よりも大きい値)に設定する。つまり、車両が走行中であるとき、タッチセンサ26c~26hの検出感度に対し、走行中に使用されない機能が割り付けられた操作部に対応したダミーセンサの検出感度を低くする(重み付けを行う)。このようにすれば、スイッチ7cの操作が行われる際、ユーザの手指が、その近傍に位置する操作ノブ7aに誤って触れた場合でも、そのスイッチ7cに対するタッチの有無の判定が無効にされることがなくなる。
 (直前の操作に応じてダミーセンサの検出感度を変更する例)
 操作ノブ7a、7bに割り付けられた機能と、直前に実行された機能(操作)との関連性が高い場合、その後にユーザが操作ノブ7a、7bの操作を行う可能性が高い。これに対し、操作ノブ7a、7bに割り付けられた機能と、直前に実行された機能との関連性が低い、または関連性が無い場合、その後にユーザが操作ノブ7a、7bの操作を行う可能性は低い。
 このような点に着目し、操作ノブ7a、7bに割り付けられた機能と直前に実行された機能との関連性に基づいて、ダミーセンサの検出感度を下記(a)、(b)のように変更することができる。なお、ここでは、操作ノブ7bに対しオーディオの音量調整機能が割り付けられているとともに、操作ノブ7bの近傍に位置するスイッチ7fに対し現在地表示復帰機能(現在地スイッチ)が割り付けられている場合を例に説明する。
 (a)直前の操作がオーディオ画面に関する操作であるとき
 オーディオ画面とは、ラジオ、CDなどの音源(ソース)を選択する画面である。一般に、オーディオを再生する際の音量は、その音源により互いに異なることが多い。従って、直前にオーディオ画面に関する操作が行われることによって表示部8にオーディオ画面が表示されている場合、その後にユーザが操作ノブ7bを操作する可能性が高い。なお、操作ノブ7bは、例えば、音量調整機能を備える。一方、この場合、ユーザがスイッチ7fを操作する可能性は低い。スイッチ7fは、例えば、現在地復帰機能を備える。
 そこで、このような場合、操作ノブ7bに対応するダミーセンサ11bの判定値を通常よりも低い値に設定する。つまり、操作ノブ7bに割り付けられた機能と直前に実行された機能との関連性が高い場合、ダミーセンサ11bの検出感度を高くする。このようにすれば、ダミーセンサ11bに対するタッチが有ると判断され易くなるため、操作される可能性の高い操作ノブ7bに対する操作が行われる際、操作される可能性の低いスイッチ7fが意図せず操作有りと判定されてしまう誤動作の発生を確実に防止することができる。
 (b)直前の操作が地図に関する操作であるとき
 直前に地図に関する操作が行われることによって表示部8に地図画面(特に、スクロールされた地図画面)が表示されている場合、その後にユーザがスイッチ7fを操作する(現在地復帰機能が使用される)可能性が高い。一方、この場合、ユーザが操作ノブ7bを操作する(音量調整機能が使用される)可能性は低い。
 そこで、このような場合、操作ノブ7bに対応するダミーセンサ11bの判定値を通常よりも高い値に設定する。つまり、操作ノブ7bに割り付けられた機能と直前に実行された機能との関連性が低い場合、ダミーセンサ11bの検出感度を低くする。このようにすれば、ダミーセンサ11bに対するタッチが無いと判断され易くなるため、操作される可能性の高いスイッチ7fの操作が行われる際、ユーザの手指が、操作される可能性の低い操作ノブ7bに誤って触れた場合でも、そのスイッチ7fに対するタッチの有無の判定が無効にされることがなくなる。
 以上説明したように、本実施形態によれば、ダミーセンサ11a、11bの検出感度を、タッチセンサ26c~26hの検出感度に対し、各種の条件に応じて動的に変化させる。それにより、状況によって動的に変化する誤動作(ある状況では操作ノブ7a、7bに対する接触が誤動作を招くが、別の状況ではスイッチ7c、7fに対する接触が誤動作を招く)の発生を精度よく防止することができるという効果が得られる。
 (第4の実施形態)
 以下、本開示の第4の実施形態について図6~図8を参照しながら説明する。
 図6に示すステアリングホイール31(操作部に相当)は、例えば自動車などの車両に設けられている。ステアリングホイール31のスポーク部31aの表面(運転者側の面)には、各種の機能(エアコンディショナの温度調整機能、オーディオの音量調整機能など)が割り付けられたステアリングスイッチ32a~32dが設けられている。ステアリングスイッチ32a~32dは、静電容量方式のタッチセンサを用いた構成、つまりタッチスイッチである。
 ステアリングホイール31の把持部31bの裏面(運転者と反対側の面)には、ダミーセンサ33a~33dが設けられている。ダミーセンサ33a~33dは、静電容量方式のタッチセンサを用いたものである。ダミーセンサ33a~33dは、ユーザがステアリングホイール31を操作するべく把持部31bを握った際、その手指との間で静電容量結合を行い得るような箇所に配置される。
 なお、ダミーセンサ33a~33dの位置は、ステアリングスイッチ32a~32dと重複しない位置であり、且つ、ユーザがステアリングホイール31を握った際、その手指との間で静電容量結合を行い得るような位置であれば適宜変更可能である。ダミーセンサ33a~33dは、所望の操作を行う目的で設けられたものではなく、ステアリングスイッチ32a~32dの誤動作を防止することを目的として設けられている。
 ステアリングスイッチ32a~32dおよびダミーセンサ33a~33dに対するタッチ操作、つまりタッチセンサに対するタッチは、図7に示すタッチ検出装置34により検出される。タッチ検出装置34は、図3に示したタッチ検出装置21と同様の構成である。この場合、静電容量検出部22は、ステアリングスイッチ32a~32dのそれぞれに対応するタッチセンサ35a~35dの静電容量の値と、ダミーセンサ33a~33dの静電容量の値を検出する。
 次に、タッチ検出装置34によるステアリングスイッチ32a~32dに対するタッチの検出動作について、図8のフローチャートに沿って説明する。
 まず、判定制御部24は、タッチセンサ35a~35dの全てについて、タッチ有無の判定対象として設定する(ステップU1)。続いて、判定制御部24からタッチ検出部23に対し、ダミーセンサ33a~33dに対するタッチの有無を判定する処理の実行が指令される(ステップU2)。そして、判定制御部24は、タッチ検出部23から与えられる操作検知情報に基づいて、ダミーセンサ33a、33bに対するタッチの有無を判断する(ステップU3)。
 ダミーセンサ33a、33bの少なくとも一方に対するタッチが有ると判断された場合(U3:YES)、ステップU4に進む。ステップU4では、ダミーセンサ33a、33bと同じ側(車両前方に向かって左側)に配置されたタッチセンサ35a、35bを、タッチ有無の判定対象から除外する。ステップU4の実行後は、ステップU5に進む。一方、ダミーセンサ33a、33bのいずれについてもタッチが無いと判断された場合(U3:NO)、そのままステップU5に進む。
 ステップU5では、判定制御部24は、タッチ検出部23から与えられる操作検知情報に基づいて、ダミーセンサ33c、33dに対するタッチの有無を判断する。ダミーセンサ33c、33dの少なくとも一方に対するタッチが有ると判断された場合(U5:YES)、ステップU6に進む。ステップU6では、ダミーセンサ33c、33dと同じ側(車両前方に向かって右側)に配置されたタッチセンサ35c、35dを、タッチ有無の判定対象から除外する。ステップU6の実行後は、ステップU7に進む。
 一方、ダミーセンサ33c、33dのいずれについてもタッチが無いと判断された場合(U5:NO)、そのままステップU7に進む。ステップU7では、判定制御部24からタッチ検出部23に対し、タッチセンサ35a~35dのうち判定対象に設定されたセンサに対するタッチの有無を判定する処理の実行が指令される。そして、判定制御部24は、タッチ検出部23から与えられる操作検知情報に基づいて、タッチセンサ35a~35dに対するタッチの有無を最終判定する(ステップU8)。
 上述したように、本実施形態では、まず、ダミーセンサ33a~33bに対するタッチの有無が判断される。そして、把持部31bの左側に配置されたダミーセンサ33a、33bにタッチが有ると判断された場合には、スポーク部31aの左側に配置されたタッチセンサ35a、35bに対するタッチの有無の判定が行われない(無効にされる)。また、把持部31bの右側に配置されたダミーセンサ33c、33dにタッチが有ると判断された場合には、スポーク部31aの右側に配置されたタッチセンサ35c、35dに対するタッチの有無の判定が行われない。そのため、ステアリングホイール31が操作される際、ユーザによる意図しない接触に起因した誤動作の発生が、次のように防止される。
 すなわち、ユーザがステアリングホイール31の把持部31bの左側を握る場合、その左手の少なくとも一部とダミーセンサ33a、33bとの間で静電容量結合が行われ、ダミーセンサ33a、33bの静電容量が変化する。そして、ダミーセンサ33a、33bの静電容量の変化量が判定値を超えると、タッチセンサ35a、35bに対するタッチの有無の判定が行われなくなる。そのため、ユーザがステアリングホイール31の把持部31bの左側を握っている期間には、ステアリングスイッチ32a、32bに対する操作の判定が行われない。従って、ユーザがステアリングホイール31の把持部31bの左側を握って操作する際、その(左手の)手指(特に親指)が誤ってステアリングスイッチ32a、32bに触れたとしても、意図しない誤動作が発生することがない。
 また、ユーザがステアリングホイール31の把持部31bの右側を握る場合、その右手の少なくとも一部とダミーセンサ33c、33dとの間で静電容量結合が行われ、ダミーセンサ33c、33dの静電容量が変化する。そして、ダミーセンサ33c、33dの静電容量の変化量が判定値を超えると、タッチセンサ35c、35dに対するタッチの有無の判定が行われなくなる。そのため、ユーザがステアリングホイール31の把持部31bの右側を握っている期間には、ステアリングスイッチ32c、32dに対する操作の判定が行われない。従って、ユーザがステアリングホイール31の把持部31bの右側を握って操作する際、その(右手の)手指(特に親指)が誤ってステアリングスイッチ32c、32dに触れたとしても、意図しない誤動作が発生することがない。
 また、上記構成によれば、外来電波ノイズによる誤動作の発生についても、次のように防止することができる。すなわち、外来電波ノイズが発生した環境においては、タッチセンサ35a~35dおよびダミーセンサ33a~33dの静電容量が同様に変化する。そして、本実施形態では、全てのダミーセンサ33a~33dに対するタッチが有ると判断されると、全てのタッチセンサ35a~35dに対するタッチの有無の判定が行われない。つまり、全てのダミーセンサ33a~33dの静電容量の変化量が判定値を超えた時点で、全てのタッチセンサ35a~35dに対するタッチの有無の判定が実施されなくなる。
 このようにすれば、外来電波ノイズが周辺に発生している場合、ステアリングスイッチ32a~32dに対する操作の判定が行われない。従って、外来電波ノイズによりタッチセンサ35a~35dの静電容量が変化したとしても、誤動作が発生することはない。このように、本実施形態によれば、ユーザによる意図しない接触に起因した誤動作および外来電波ノイズに起因した誤動作をいずれも防止することができる。
 (その他の実施形態)
 なお、本開示は上記し且つ図面に記載した各実施形態に限定されるものではなく、次のような変形または拡張が可能である。
 車両用ナビゲーション装置1のタッチパネル7iは、静電容量方式のタッチスイッチ(タッチセンサ)を用いてもよい。その場合、タッチパネル7iのタッチスイッチは、操作ノブ7a、7bの近傍に存在するタッチスイッチ(7c、7f)と同等に扱い、第1~第3の実施形態と同様の処理を適用すればよい。
 スイッチ7c~7hとしては、1つのスイッチに対して1つのタッチセンサを設けた構成に限らずともよく、1つのスイッチに対して複数のタッチセンサを設けた構成であってもよい。
 操作ノブ7a、7b、スイッチ7c~7hおよびステアリングスイッチ32a~32dに対し、予め定められた固定の機能が割り付けられている構成に限らず、割り付けられる機能が任意に切り替えることが可能になっていてもよい。その場合、割り付けられた機能に応じて、ダミーセンサの検出感度を変化させてもよい。
 タッチ検出装置21、34は、上記各実施形態において説明した用途(車載用途)に限らず、静電容量方式のタッチセンサに対するタッチを検出する用途全般に用いることができる。そして、検出対象のタッチセンサの近傍に、ユーザにより操作される操作部(構造的な操作部、メカニカルスイッチ、電気的スイッチなど)およびダミーセンサが配置されるようなレイアウトの場合、ユーザの意図しない接触による誤動作の発生を効果的に防止することができる。なお、ここで言う「近傍」とは、ユーザがタッチセンサおよびダミーセンサに対して同時に触れることができるような距離のことを意味している。言い換えると、タッチセンサおよびダミーセンサのうち、一方のセンサに対するタッチ(接触または接近)によって、他方のセンサもユーザの手指と静電容量結合を行い得る程度の距離のことを意味している。
 第1の実施形態におけるタッチ検出動作(図4のフローチャート)は、上述した操作部およびダミーセンサが1つしか存在しない場合および複数存在する場合のいずれについても適用することができる。第2の実施形態におけるタッチ検出動作(図5のフローチャート)は、上述した操作部(およびダミーセンサ)が2つ存在する場合だけでなく、3つ以上存在する場合についても適用することができる。
 本開示の一例に係るタッチ検出装置は、ユーザによりタッチ操作される静電容量方式のタッチセンサに対するタッチを次のようにして検出する。すなわち、タッチセンサに対してユーザの手指が接触すると、タッチセンサの静電容量の値が変化する。タッチ判定部は、タッチセンサの静電容量の値を検出する静電容量検出部の検出値に基づいて、このような静電容量の変化を検出し、それによりタッチの有無を判定する。
 この場合、タッチセンサの近傍には、ユーザにより操作される操作部が配置されている。このような配置の場合、ユーザが操作部を操作しようとした際、その手指が誤ってタッチセンサに触れる可能性が比較的高い。そのため、ユーザの意図しない誤動作が生じるおそれがある。そこで、本部では、次のようにして上記誤動作の発生を防止するようにしている。
 すなわち、操作部には、静電容量方式のダミーセンサが配置されている。また、静電容量検出部は、そのダミーセンサの静電容量の値も検出する。そして、タッチ判定部は、静電容量検出部の検出値に基づいてダミーセンサの静電容量の変化量が所定の判定値を超えたことを検出すると、タッチセンサに対するタッチの有無の判定を無効にする。
 上記構成によれば、操作部の操作を行うべく、ユーザの手指が操作部に接触(または接近)すると、ダミーセンサの静電容量が変化する。そして、ダミーセンサの静電容量の変化量が判定値を超えると、タッチ判定部がタッチセンサに対する判定を無効にする。このようにすれば、ユーザが操作部の操作を行っている期間、タッチセンサに対するタッチの有無の判定が行われない。従って、ユーザの手指が誤ってタッチセンサに触れたとしても、誤動作の発生を防ぐことができる。
 また、上記構成によれば、外来電波ノイズによる誤動作の発生についても、次のように防止することができる。すなわち、外来電波ノイズが発生した環境においては、タッチセンサおよびダミーセンサの静電容量が同様に変化する。そして、タッチ判定部は、ダミーセンサの静電容量の変化量が判定値を超えた時点で、タッチセンサに対するタッチの有無の判定を無効にする。このようにすれば、外来電波ノイズが周辺に発生している場合、タッチセンサに対するタッチの有無の判定が行われない。従って、外来電波ノイズによりタッチセンサの静電容量が変化したとしても、誤動作の発生を防ぐことができる。このように、本開示によれば、ユーザによる意図しない接触に起因した誤動作および外来電波ノイズに起因した誤動作をいずれも防止することができる。
 以上、本開示に係るタッチ検出装置および車両用ナビゲーション装置の実施形態、構成、態様を例示したが、本開示に係る実施形態、構成、態様は、上述した各実施形態、各構成、各態様に限定されるものではない。例えば、異なる実施形態、構成、態様にそれぞれ開示された技術的部を適宜組み合わせて得られる実施形態、構成、態様についても本開示に係る実施形態、構成、態様の範囲に含まれる。

Claims (7)

  1.  ユーザによりタッチ操作される静電容量方式のタッチセンサ(26c~26h、35a~35d)に対するタッチを検出するタッチ検出装置(21、34)であって、
     前記タッチセンサ(26c~26h、35a~35d)の近傍に設けられユーザにより操作される操作部(7a、7b、31)に配置された静電容量方式のダミーセンサ(11a、11b、33a~33d)と、
     前記タッチセンサ(26c~26h、35a~35d)および前記ダミーセンサ(11a、11b、33a~33d)の静電容量の値を検出する静電容量検出部(22)と、
     前記静電容量検出部(22)の検出値に基づいて前記タッチセンサ(26c~26h、35a~35d)に対するタッチの有無を判定するタッチ判定部(25)と、
     を備え、
     前記タッチ判定部(25)は、前記ダミーセンサ(11a、11b、33a~33d)の静電容量の変化量が所定の判定値を超えると、前記タッチセンサ(26c~26h、35a~35d)に対するタッチの有無の判定を無効にするタッチ検出装置。
  2.  複数の前記タッチセンサ(26c~26h、35a~35d)に対応するように複数の前記ダミーセンサ(11a、11b、33a~33d)が設けられる場合、
     前記タッチ判定部(25)は、所定の前記ダミーセンサ(11a、11b、33a~33d)の静電容量の変化量が前記判定値を超えると、そのダミーセンサ(11a、11b、33a~33d)の近傍に設けられた前記タッチセンサ(26c~26h、35a~35d)に対するタッチの有無の判定を無効にする請求項1に記載のタッチ検出装置。
  3.  前記タッチ判定部(25)は、複数の前記ダミーセンサ(11a、11b、33a~33d)の静電容量の変化量がいずれも前記判定値を超えると、全ての前記タッチセンサ(26c~26h、35a~35d)に対するタッチの有無の判定を無効にする請求項2に記載のタッチ検出装置。
  4.  前記タッチ判定部(25)は、前記操作部(7a、7b)に対する操作が行われる可能性が高い場合には前記判定値を通常よりも低い値に設定し、前記操作部(7a、7b)に対する操作が行われる可能性が低い場合には前記判定値を通常よりも高い値に設定する請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載のタッチ検出装置。
  5.  前記タッチセンサ(26c~26h、35a~35d)および前記ダミーセンサ(11a、11b、33a~33d)は、車両に設けられており、
     前記タッチ判定部(25)は、前記車両が走行中であるときには前記判定値を通常よりも低い値に設定する請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のタッチ検出装置。
  6.  静電容量方式のタッチセンサを用いたスイッチ(7c~7h)と、
     請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載のタッチ検出装置(21)と、
     を備えた車両用ナビゲーション装置(1)であって、
     前記ダミーセンサ(11a、11b)が配置される前記操作部(7a、7b)は、前記スイッチ(7c~7h)の近傍に設けられユーザにより操作される操作ノブ(7a、7b)であり、
     前記タッチ検出装置(21)を用いて前記スイッチ(7c~7h)に対するタッチ操作を検出する車両用ナビゲーション装置。
  7.  前記タッチ判定部(25)は、前記操作部(7a、7b)に割り付けられた機能と、前記操作部(7a、7b)の操作の直前に実行された機能との間に関連性がある場合を、前記操作部(7a、7b)に対する操作が行われる可能性が高いとみなし、前記判定値を低下させ、
     前記操作部(7a、7b)に割り付けられた機能と、前記操作部(7a、7b)の操作の直前に実行された機能とに関連性がない場合を、前記操作部(7a、7b)に対する操作が行われる可能性が低いとみなし、前記判定値を上昇させる請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載のタッチ検出装置。
