Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for fixing a single-tube sheet to the mouthpiece of a single-tube blower according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the saxophone and the clarinet are, for example, a single-tube blower.
  • Such a device must satisfy two conflicting needs: first, it must ensure that the single-tube blade is stably and reliably attached to the mouthpiece, and second, it must simultaneously allow the single-tube blade to swing freely, the more so the single-tube blade vibrate freely, the better will be the quality of the overtones that make up the timbre of the sound emitted by the wind instrument.
  • the device secures the single reed to the mouth of a single reed reed instrument by pressing the upper surface portion of the monoply reed against the lower surface portion of the die with the fasteners provided therewith.
  • the effectiveness of these fasteners is controlled by dedicated regulation means provided to the device.
  • US 5,648,623 shows an apparatus for fixing a single-tube sheet to the mouthpiece of a single-tube blower according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the fastening means on the lower surface portion of the single-tube sheet exert a fastening force pressing the upper surface portion of the single-tube sheet against the lower surface portion of the mouth piece, and comprise at least one string.
  • This at least one string is arranged to extend at least along the lower surface portion of the single tube sheet and along the side surface portions of the mouth piece.
  • the regulating means of this known device which have to regulate the intensity of the force applied by the fastening means on the single-tube sheet, consist of means for generating an adjustable intensity pulling force in the at least one string.
  • These means for generating an adjustable intensity pulling force in the at least one cord in turn comprise:
  • an active element provided with a plurality of receptacles in which portions of the at least one cord extend and / or in which the ends of the at least one cord are anchored;
  • Displacement means cooperating with both the support element and the active element and acting on the active element to displace it along a radial direction of the mouthpiece in both directions, the progressive movement of the active movement away from the mouthpiece along said radial direction Element causes a same progressive entrainment movement of said sections or said ends of the at least one line and thereby generates in the at least one line a tensile force, the intensity of which increases progressively in accordance with the growth of the movement.
  • the fastening means comprise at least one cord and therefore the regulating means comprise means for generating an adjustable intensity pulling force in the at least one cord.
  • the fastening means comprise rigid elements, but these rigid elements limit the freedom from vibration of the single-tube blade.
  • a first disadvantage is the excessive size of the surface area of the single-tube sheet, which is affected by the action of the cord.
  • the cord is arranged in the form of a spiral whose individual turns extend in a plurality of receptacles of the active element along the entire longitudinal extent of the active element, i. along the longitudinal direction of the mouthpiece, are evenly distributed, so that affected by the effect of the cord surface area of the single-tube sheet is remarkable in any case.
  • the fact that the cords extend inside the active element also affects the quality of the final vibrations input to the wind instrument.
  • Another disadvantage is that in the known device there is a limited possibility to regulate the intensity of the tensile force.
  • the particular design chosen for the bearing element namely, astride above the active element, entails that during the progressive movement of the active element away from the mouthpiece - the moving away movement is necessary to tighten the cord - that active element is increasingly approaching the support element, which is why the active element must stop as soon as it touches the Aufiageelement, and can not move further away from the mouthpiece and this corresponds to the fact that you can no longer increase the tensile force in the cord.
  • the present invention is therefore based on the object to develop a known device of the type described above such that with theStratrohrblattblasinstrument on which the device is mounted, it is possible to optimally generate the full gamut of possible sounds, with a far-reaching regulation of the Intensity of the fastening force with which the single-tube sheet is attached to the mouthpiece and the possibility to use each of those string, which is suitable for the sound that you want to produce to be guaranteed.
  • a device characterized in that such a device erfindungsgenäß additionally also having the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.
  • the support element When the support element is arranged along said radial direction between the active element and the mouthpiece, as soon as the active element passes along said radial direction said movement away from the mouthpiece, it moves away from the support element rather than approaching it, as in the known device the case is.
  • the support element no longer lies along the path of the active element and therefore no longer constitutes an obstacle which restricts the movement of the active element or restricts the adjustment range of the intensity of the tensile force and therefore the adjustment range of the fastening force.
  • the active element can therefore be removed as far away from the mouthpiece as is necessary to stretch the cord in the desired manner. Thanks to the device according to the invention it is therefore possible optimally and as needed to press the single tube against the mouthpiece, since the intensity of the fastening force which applies the at least one string on the unit composed of the single tube and the mouthpiece in a wide range within a large adjustment is adjustable, but the intended direct proportionality between the regulatory movement is performed and the intensity of the resulting fastening force is applied attached, which ensures a remarkable regulatory precision.
  • This also makes it possible to obtain a stable, reliable attachment adapted to the requirements of the musician, ie to eject an already prepared attachment in each case to tones which tend to be damped if the handle applied by the at least one string is not too strong, or sound tones that tend to be bright when the handle applied by the at least one string is very strong.
  • This large adjustment range which is made possible by the device according to the invention, makes the device adaptable to all the different different dimensions of the different different mouthpieces varying according to the different types of wind instruments.
  • the receptacles of the active element are arranged on projecting parts of the active element, which protrude from the main body of the active element and thus beyond the circumference of the upper Surface area of the mouthpiece on which rests the support element that the projections of said recordings on the mouthpiece are completely outside the upper surface portion of the mouthpiece on which rests the support element, also ensures that when the at least one string is stretched, this is completely outside of the upper Surface area of the mouthpiece extends on which the support element lies. This makes it possible to concentrate the fastening effect applied by the at least one line in two limited surface areas of the single tube sheet.

This entails that the vibrations of the single-tube blade are transmitted to the mouthpiece, which, in turn, vibrates, helping to create a reinforcing effect of the vibrations input to the instrument, and this makes the sound more full.
