反射部材で反射された光を太陽電池セルに効率良く入射させ、出力特性を向上させる。 横方向に配列された複数の太陽電池ストリング11~13を備える。複数の太陽電池ストリング11~13のそれぞれは、縦方向に配列された複数の太陽電池セル1と、複数の太陽電池セル1の少なくとも一部を互いに電気的に接続する配線材とを有し、複数の太陽電池ストリング11~13の少なくとも一部を互いに電気的に接続する渡り配線21,22と、複数の太陽電池ストリング11~13の裏面側に設けられる反射充填部材6とを備え、複数の太陽電池セル1のそれぞれは、縦方向に延びるバスバー電極3を有し、太陽電池ストリング11~13内における太陽電池セル1間の距離D1が、太陽電池ストリング11~13間の距離D2より長い。
Description
本発明は、太陽電池モジュールに関する。
太陽電池モジュールは、太陽電池セルを縦方向及び横方向に配置し、各太陽電池セルを電気的に接続することにより構成されている。太陽電池モジュールにおいては、太陽電池セルの受光面側から入射し、太陽電池セル間を通過した光を、受光面側に反射して再び太陽電池セルに入射させるため、太陽電池セルの裏面側に反射充填部材を設けることが提案されている(特許文献1)。
近年、太陽電池モジュールの出力特性をさらに向上させたいという要望がある。
本発明の目的は、反射部材で反射された光を太陽電池セルに効率良く入射させ、出力特性を向上させることができる太陽電池モジュールを提供することにある。
本発明は、横方向に配列された複数の太陽電池ストリングを備える。複数の太陽電池ストリングのそれぞれは、縦方向に配列された複数の太陽電池セルと、複数の太陽電池セルの少なくとも一部を互いに電気的に接続する配線材とを有し、複数の太陽電池ストリングの少なくとも一部を互いに電気的に接続する渡り配線と、複数の太陽電池ストリングの裏面側に設けられる反射充填部材とをさらに備える。複数の太陽電池セルのそれぞれは、縦方向に延びるバスバー電極を有し、太陽電池ストリング内における太陽電池セル間の距離が、太陽電池ストリング間の距離より長い。
本発明によれば、反射部材で反射された光を太陽電池セルに効率良く入射させ、出力特性を向上させることができる。
以下、本発明の好ましい実施形態について説明する。但し、以下の実施形態は単なる例示であり、本発明は以下の実施形態に限定されるものではない。また、各図面において、実質的に同一の機能を有する部材は同一の符号で参照する場合がある。
図1は、本発明の一実施形態の太陽電池モジュールを示す模式的平面図である。図2は、図1に示すA-A線に沿う模式的断面図である。図3は、本発明の一実施形態の太陽電池モジュールにおける太陽電池セル間を接続するタブ配線を説明するための模式的断面図である。
図1に示すように、太陽電池モジュール10は、横方向(y方向)に配列された複数の太陽電池ストリング11~16を備えている。太陽電池ストリング11~16は、縦方向(x方向)に配列された複数の太陽電池セル1を電気的に接続することにより構成されている。なお、本発明において、「縦方向」は、太陽電池ストリング11~16内において太陽電池セル1が配列される方向をいう。また、「横方向」は、太陽電池ストリング11~16が配列される方向であり、縦方向に対し略垂直な方向である。
図2に示すように、太陽電池ストリング11~16内において、隣接する太陽電池セル1は、タブ配線4により接続されている。タブ配線4の一方端は、隣接する一方の太陽電池セル1の表面1a側に接続され、他方端は、隣接する他方の太陽電池セル1の裏面1b側に接続されている。図1に示すように、太陽電池セル1の表面1aには、横方向に延びる多数のフィンガー電極2が形成されている。このフィンガー電極2に対して略直行する方向に延びるバスバー電極3が、フィンガー電極2に電気的に接続されるように設けられている。また、図示されないが、太陽電池セル1の裏面1bにも、表面1aと同様に、フィンガー電極2及びバスバー電極3が形成されている。なお、裏面1bに形成されるフィンガー電極2は、表面1aよりも、高密度となるように形成されている。裏面1bに形成されるフィンガー電極2及びバスバー電極3が、太陽電池セル1の裏面電極を構成している。
図1において、表面1aのバスバー電極3は、タブ配線4と重なって図示されている。したがって、表面1aのバスバー電極3は、太陽電池セル1の縦方向に延びるように設けられている。なお、本発明において、「縦方向に延びる」は、縦方向と平行な一直線状に延びることに限られず、例えば、縦方向と平行ではない複数の直線が互いに繋ぎ合わされてジグザグ状に延びることも含む。
図3に示すように、隣接する太陽電池セル1の間に設けられるタブ配線4は、一方の太陽電池セル1の表面1a側のバスバー電極3と、他方の太陽電池セル1の裏面1b側のバスバー電極3とを接続している。したがって、各太陽電池セル1の表面1a側のバスバー電極3は、配線材であるタブ配線4によって、隣接する太陽電池セル1の裏面電極であるバスバー電極3に電気的に接続されている。バスバー電極3とタブ配線4とは、例えば、図示されない半田や樹脂接着剤等により接続されている。
図1に示すように、太陽電池ストリング11の最上段の太陽電池セル1の表面1a側に設けられたタブ配線4は、第1の渡り配線21に接続されている。太陽電池ストリング11の最下段の太陽電池セル1の裏面1b側に設けられたタブ配線4は、第3の渡り配線23に接続されている。太陽電池ストリング12の最上段の太陽電池セル1の表面1a側に設けられたタブ配線4は、第2の渡り配線22に接続されている。太陽電池ストリング12の最下段の太陽電池セル1の裏面1b側に設けられたタブ配線4は、第3の渡り配線23に接続されている。太陽電池ストリング13の最上段の太陽電池セル1の表面1a側に設けられたタブ配線4は、第2の渡り配線22に接続されている。太陽電池ストリング13の最下段の太陽電池セル1の裏面1b側に設けられたタブ配線4は、第3の渡り配線24に接続されている。
太陽電池ストリング14の最上段の太陽電池セル1の表面1a側に設けられたタブ配線4は、第2の渡り配線25に接続されている。太陽電池ストリング14の最下段の太陽電池セル1の裏面1b側に設けられたタブ配線4は、第3の渡り配線24に接続されている。太陽電池ストリング15の最上段の太陽電池セル1の表面1a側に設けられたタブ配線4は、第2の渡り配線25に接続されている。太陽電池ストリング15の最下段の太陽電池セル1の裏面1b側に設けられたタブ配線4は、第3の渡り配線27に接続されている。太陽電池ストリング16の最上段の太陽電池セル1の表面1a側に設けられたタブ配線4は、第1の渡り配線26に接続されている。太陽電池ストリング13の最下段の太陽電池セル1の裏面1b側に設けられたタブ配線4は、第3の渡り配線27に接続されている。
以上のように、各太陽電池ストリング11~16は、第1の渡り配線21,26、第2の渡り配線22,25、及び第3の渡り配線23,24,27のいずれかの渡り配線に接続されることにより、互いに直列または並列に電気的に接続されている。
図2に示すように、受光側となる太陽電池セル1の表面1a側には、表面側保護部材7が設けられている。表面側保護部材7は、例えば、ガラスなどにより構成することができる。太陽電池セル1の裏面1b側には、裏面側保護部材8が設けられている。裏面側保護部材8は、例えば、樹脂により構成することができる。また、アルミニウムなどからなる金属層が内部に設けられた樹脂シートにより構成してもよい。
表面側保護部材7と太陽電池セル1との間には、受光側充填部材5が設けられている。裏面側保護部材8と太陽電池セル1との間には、反射充填部材6が設けられている。受光側充填部材5及び反射充填部材6は、例えば樹脂から構成することができる。このような樹脂としては、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレンなどからなる非架橋性樹脂や、エチレン・酢酸ビニル共集合体(EVA)や、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレンなどからなる架橋性樹脂等が挙げられる。反射充填部材6は、受光側から入射した光を再び受光側に反射するための部材である。反射充填部材6としては、例えば酸化チタン等の白色顔料を樹脂に含有させることにより、光反射能が付与されたものを用いることができる。しかしながら、反射充填部材6は、このようなものに限定されることはなく、受光側から入手した光を再び受光側に反射させることができるものであればよい。
図4は、本発明の一実施形態の太陽電池モジュールにおける渡り配線及び太陽電池セルを拡大して示す模式的平面図である。図4に示すように、本実施形態では、太陽電池ストリング11,12,13内における太陽電池セル1間の距離D1は、太陽電池ストリング間の距離D2より長い。距離D1は、好ましくは、距離D2の1.1倍以上であり、さらに好ましくは、1.3倍以上、5倍以下である。図4においては、太陽電池ストリング12及び13間の距離を、D2として示しているが、太陽電池ストリング11及び12間の距離も、D2である。
太陽電池ストリング内における太陽電池セル1間の距離D1を、太陽電池ストリング間の距離D2より長くすることにより、出力特性を向上させることができる。以下、この理由について説明する。
図6は、太陽電池モジュールにおける太陽電池セル間を通過した入射光の反射状態を説明するための模式的断面図である。図6に示すように、太陽電池セル1間を通過した入射光33は、反射充填部材6で反射し、反射光34となる。反射光34は、表面側保護部材7の外部との界面で反射し、再入射光35となって再び太陽電池セル1に入射する。
図5は、太陽電池セルにおける再入射領域を示す模式的平面図である。太陽電池ストリング部内における太陽電池セル間を通過した入射光の一部は、再入射領域31に入射する。一方、太陽電池ストリング間における太陽電池セル間を通過した入射光の一部は、再入射領域32に入射する。図5に示すように、再入射領域32は、バスバー電極3から遠くに位置している。このため、再入射領域32に再入射した光により発生したキャリアを効率良く収集することができない。これに対し、再入射領域31は、バスバー電極3の近くに位置しているので、キャリア取り出し時の抵抗ロスが小さく、再入射領域31に再入射した光により発生したキャリアを、効率良く収集することができる。本実施形態では、上述のように、太陽電池ストリング内における太陽電池セル1間の距離D1を、太陽電池ストリング間の距離D2より長くなるように設定しているので、再入射領域31に再入射する光の量を、再入射領域32よりも多くすることができる。このため、再入射した光により発生したキャリアを効率良く収集することができ、出力特性を向上させることができる。
図7は、太陽電池モジュールにおける太陽電池セル間の反射充填部材を示す模式的断面図である。図8は、太陽電池モジュールにおける太陽電池ストリング間の反射充填部材を示す模式的断面図である。図7及び図8に示すように、本実施形態では、太陽電池ストリング内における太陽電池セル1間の反射充填部材6の高さが、太陽電池ストリング12及び13間の反射充填部材6の高さより高くなっている。具体的には、図7に示すように、太陽電池ストリング内における太陽電池セル1間の反射充填部材6は、太陽電池セル1より高さH突出するように形成されている。これに対し、太陽電池ストリング12及び13間の反射充填部材6は、図8に示すように、太陽電池セル1から上に突出しないように形成されている。したがって、図7に示す、太陽電池セル1間の反射充填部材6と表面側保護部材7との間の距離d1は、図8に示す、太陽電池ストリング12及び13間の反射充填部材6と表面側保護部材7との間の距離d2より小さくなっている。言い換えると、太陽電池セル1間の受光側充填部材5の厚さは、太陽電池ストリング12及び13間の受光側充填部材5の厚さより小さくなっている。したがって、太陽電池セル1間の受光側充填部材5により吸収される光の量を、太陽電池ストリング12及び13間の受光側充填部材5により吸収される光の量より少なくすることができる。
このため、太陽電池セル1間の反射充填部材6での入射光の反射を、太陽電池ストリング12及び13間の反射充填部材6での入射光の反射より大きくすることができる。したがって、図5に示す再入射領域31に再入射する光の量を、再入射領域32よりも多くすることができる。このため、再入射した光により発生したキャリアを効率良く収集することができ、出力特性を向上させることができる。
また、本実施形態では、図7に示すように、太陽電池ストリング内における太陽電池セル1間において、反射充填部材6が太陽電池セル1の周辺部を被覆するように設けられている。その被覆量Cは、図8に示す太陽電池ストリング12及び13間における反射充填部材6による被覆量より大きい。太陽電池セル1の周辺部には、pn接合またはpin接合が形成されていない無効領域が存在しており、無効領域での入射光の利用率は低い。このため、反射充填部材6が太陽電池セル1の周辺部を被覆するように設けられると、無効領域での入射光の利用率を高めることができる。図7及び図8に示すように、太陽電池ストリング内の太陽電池セル1間における太陽電池セル1の周辺部を被覆する被覆量Cを、太陽電池ストリング12及び13間における被覆量より大きくすることにより、図5に示す再入射領域31に再入射する光の量を増やすことができる。このため、再入射した光により発生したキャリアを効率良く収集することができ、出力特性を向上させることができる。
図4に示すように、太陽電池ストリング内における太陽電池セル1間の距離D1は、第2の渡り配線22と太陽電池セル1との間の距離D3より長くなっている。第2の渡り配線22と太陽電池セル1との間を通過した光の反射光は、第2の渡り配線22に隣接している太陽電池セル1に再入射した光のみが発電に寄与する。これに対し、太陽電池ストリング内における太陽電池セル1間を通過した光の反射光は、互いに隣接する両方の太陽電池セル1に再入射する。このため、発電に寄与する光の量を多くすることができ、入射光の利用率を向上させることができる。
図4に示すように、本実施形態では、渡り配線として、第1の渡り配線21と第2の渡り配線22が縦方向に並行して設けられている。本実施形態では、図4に示すように、太陽電池ストリング内における太陽電池セル1間の距離D1は、第1の渡り配線21と第2渡り配線22の間の距離D4より長くなっている。第1の渡り配線21と第2渡り配線22の間を通過した光の反射光は、第2の渡り配線22に隣接している太陽電池セル1に再入射した光が発電に寄与する。これに対し、太陽電池ストリング内における太陽電池セル1間を通過した光の反射光は、互いに隣接する両方の太陽電池セル1に再入射する。このため、発電に寄与する光の量を多くすることができ、入射光の利用率を向上させることができる。
図4に示すように、本実施形態では、第2の渡り配線22が、第1の渡り配線21より太陽電池ストリングに近い側に設けられている。本実施形態では、図4に示すように、太陽電池ストリング内における太陽電池セル1間の距離D1は、第2の渡り配線22と太陽電池ストリングの間の距離D3より長く、第2の渡り配線22と太陽電池ストリングの間の距離D3は、第1の渡り配線21と第2の渡り配線22の間の距離D4より長くなっている。第1の渡り配線21と第2の渡り配線22の間の位置は、第2の渡り配線22と太陽電池ストリングの間の位置よりも、太陽電池セル1から遠い。このため、第1の渡り配線21と第2の渡り配線22の間を通過した光の利用率は、第2の渡り配線22と太陽電池ストリングの間を通過した光の利用率よりも低くなる。したがって、距離D1>距離D3>距離D4の関係を満たすことにより、光の利用率を高めることができ、出力特性を向上させることができる。
図4に示すように、本実施形態では、太陽電池ストリング内における太陽電池セル1間の距離D1が、第1の渡り配線21の縦方向の幅Wより長くなっている。なお、第2の渡り配線22の縦方向の幅も、第1の渡り配線21の縦方向の幅Wと同じである。第1の渡り配線21及び第2の渡り配線22は、光の入射を妨げるものである。したがって、第1の渡り配線21及び第2の渡り配線22の縦方向の幅Wを狭くし、その分、太陽電池ストリング内における太陽電池セル1間の距離D1を広げることにより、再入射光の量を多くすることができる。上述のように、太陽電池ストリング内における太陽電池セル1間は、反射充填部材6による反射で、最も有効に光の利用率を高めることができる領域である。したがって、太陽電池ストリング内における太陽電池セル1間の距離D1を広げることにより、効率良く出力特性を向上させることができる。
太陽電池セル1の構造は、上記実施形態のものに限定されるものではない。例えば、裏面接合型の太陽電池セルであってもよい。

- 横方向に配列された複数の太陽電池ストリングを備え、
前記複数の太陽電池ストリングのそれぞれは、
縦方向に配列された複数の太陽電池セルと、
前記複数の太陽電池セルの少なくとも一部を互いに電気的に接続する配線材と、を有し、
前記複数の太陽電池ストリングの少なくとも一部を互いに電気的に接続する渡り配線と、
前記複数の太陽電池ストリングの裏面側に設けられる反射充填部材と、をさらに備え、
前記複数の太陽電池セルのそれぞれは、前記縦方向に延びるバスバー電極を有し、
前記太陽電池ストリング内における前記太陽電池セル間の距離が、前記太陽電池ストリング間の距離より長い、太陽電池モジュール。 - 前記太陽電池ストリング内における前記太陽電池セル間の前記反射充填部材の高さが、前記太陽電池ストリング間の前記反射充填部材の高さより高い、請求項1に記載の太陽電池モジュール。
- 前記太陽電池ストリング内における前記太陽電池セル間において、前記反射充填部材が前記太陽電池セルの周辺部を被覆するように設けられており、その被覆量が、前記太陽電池ストリング間における前記反射充填部材による被覆量より大きい、請求項1または2に記載の太陽電池モジュール。
- 前記太陽電池ストリング内における前記太陽電池セル間の距離が、前記渡り配線と前記太陽電池ストリングとの間の距離より長い、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の太陽電池モジュール。
- 前記渡り配線として、前記縦方向に並行して設けられる第1の渡り配線と第2の渡り配線とが設けられており、前記太陽電池ストリング内における前記太陽電池セル間の距離が、前記第1の渡り配線と前記第2の渡り配線の間の距離より長い、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の太陽電池モジュール。
- 前記第2の渡り配線が、前記第1の渡り配線より前記太陽電池ストリングに近い側に設けられており、前記太陽電池ストリング内における前記太陽電池セル間の距離が、前記第2の渡り配線と前記太陽電池ストリングの間の距離より長く、前記第2の渡り配線と前記太陽電池ストリングの間の距離が、前記第1の渡り配線と前記第2の渡り配線の間の距離より長い、請求項5に記載の太陽電池モジュール。
- 前記太陽電池ストリング内における前記太陽電池セル間の距離が、前記渡り配線の前記縦方向の幅より長い、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の太陽電池モジュール。
- 前記反射充填部材が、白色顔料を含有する充填部材である、請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載の太陽電池モジュール。
