Abstract

La présente invention concerne un élément d'affichage à cristaux liquides de type à commutation dans le plan doté d'une fonction de commande d'alignement à efficacité élevée et ayant d'excellentes propriétés de rémanence. La présente invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication pour un substrat ayant un film d'alignement de cristaux liquides, ledit procédé ayant les étapes suivantes pour obtenir un film d'alignement de cristaux liquides pour un élément d'affichage à cristaux liquides de type à commutation dans le plan doté d'une fonction de commande d'alignement : [I] une étape dans laquelle une composition de polymère, qui contient (A) un polymère à chaîne latérale sensible à la lumière qui présente une cristallinité élevée à une plage de température prescrite et (B) un solvant organique, est revêtue sur un substrat ayant un film conducteur pour une commutation dans le plan, et un film de revêtement est formé; [II] une étape dans laquelle le film de revêtement obtenu dans [I] est exposé à une lumière UV polarisée; et [III] une étape dans laquelle le film de revêtement obtenu dans [II] est chauffé.
