Description

産業車両
 本発明は、車体に搭載された電池パックを備える産業車両に関し、詳しくは、該電池パックが、カウンタウェイトと、該カウンタウェイトに一部分が接合される電池セルとを有する産業車両に関する。
 カウンタウェイトを備える産業車両としては、例えば、特許文献1に記載のフォークリフトが知られている。
 特許文献1に記載の産業車両は、車体の後方に積荷とのつりあいをとるためのカウンタウェイトを備える。カウンタウェイトには、車幅方向に延びる収容凹部が形成されるとともに、収容凹部にはバッテリが載置されている。

 ところで、バッテリは、放電時や、充電時に発熱する。バッテリの温度が規定温度以上になると、バッテリの劣化を促進してしまう。このため、産業車両においては、バッテリを効率よく冷却することが望まれている。
 本発明の目的は、電池セルを効率よく冷却することができる産業車両を提供することにある。
 上記目的を達成するため、本発明の一態様は、車体と、前記車体に搭載された電池パックとを備える産業車両を提供する。前記電池パックは、前記カウンタウェイトにおける前記電池セルとの接合部分が、前記電池セルにおける前記カウンタウェイトとの非接合部分よりも走行風と熱交換されるように前記車体に配設される。

 以下、産業車両を、リーチ式フォークリフト(以下、単に「フォークリフト」と示す)に具体化した一実施形態について図1~図4にしたがって説明する。以下の説明において「前」「後」「左」「右」「上」「下」は、フォークリフトの運転者がフォークリフトの前方(前進方向)を向いた状態を基準とした場合の「前」「後」「左」「右」「上」「下」を示すものとする。
 図1に示すように、フォークリフト11の車体12には、左右一対のリーチレグ13が前方に向かって延設されている。各リーチレグ13の前方にはそれぞれ前輪14が設けられている。車体12の後方には、駆動輪としての後輪16とキャスタホイール(図示せず)とが配設されている。また、車体12の前方には、各リーチレグ13に沿ってリーチシリンダ(図示せず)の駆動により前後方向に移動するマスト17が立設されている。
 マスト17の前側には、左右一対のフォーク20がリフトブラケット21を介して設けられている。そして、フォーク20は、マスト17に沿って上下に昇降するように構成されている。フォーク20には、積荷22が搭載される。
 また、車体12の後部には、立席タイプの運転室24が設けられている。運転室24内のステアリングテーブル25には、後輪16の操舵操作を行うステアリングホイール26が設けられている。車体12の前方には、収容スペースSが形成されている。この収容スペースSには、電池パック30が搭載されている。以下、電池パック30について詳細に説明を行う。
 図2に示すように、電池パック30は、ケース31を備えている。ケース31は、フォーク20に搭載される積荷22とつりあいをとるためのカウンタウェイト32を備えている。カウンタウェイト32は、平面視矩形状をなすウェイト部34と、ウェイト部34の短手方向一端(即ち、ウェイト部34の短手方向の第1端)からウェイト部34の厚み方向に立設(即ち、延設)される板状のウェイト本体33とを含む。ウェイト本体33は、ウェイト部34の長手方向一端(ウェイト部34の長手方向の第1端)からウェイト部34の長手方向他端(ウェイト部34の長手方向の第2端)に亘って延びる。換言すれば、ウェイト部34は、ウェイト本体33の基端からウェイト本体33の厚み方向に延設されている。即ち、ウェイト部34は、ウェイト本体33の延設方向とは異なる方向に延設されている。ウェイト本体33の先端、即ちウェイト本体33の基端とは反対側の端部には、ウェイト本体33を該ウェイト本体33の厚み方向に切り欠いた切欠部35が形成されている。
 ウェイト部34の短手方向の第1端とは反対側の第2端(即ち、ウェイト部34の短手方向の第2端)には、ウェイト本体33から離間して設けられる逆U字状のフレーム36がウェイト部34から立設されている。フレーム36は、ウェイト部34の上面における短手方向の一端の2つの角部から立設された第1の柱部38及び第2の柱部39と、第1の柱部38及び第2の柱部39の上端部を繋ぐ基部37と、からなる。即ち、基部37は、第1の柱部38及び第2の柱部39のウェイト部34に接合される端部と反対側の端部を繋ぐ。つまり、電池パック30は、ウェイト部34の短手方向の第2端に、ウェイト部34とフレーム36とによって囲まれたメイン開口部30aを有する。なお、電池パック30において、このメイン開口部30aは、矩形板状をなす蓋部材43によって閉塞されている。
 各柱部38,39の立設方向の長さ、即ち各柱部38,39の長手方向の長さは、ウェイト部34の上面から、ウェイト本体33の先端面までの最短距離と同一に設定されている。フレーム36の上面とウェイト本体33の上面とには、天板44が支持されている。この天板44によって、ウェイト本体33とフレーム36との間の開口部(図示せず)が閉塞されている。更に、電池パック30は、ウェイト本体33の長手方向一端(即ち、ウェイト本体33の長手方向の第1端)に、ウェイト本体33と、ウェイト部34と、第1の柱部38と、天板44によって囲まれた第1の開口部30bを有する。また、電池パック30は、ウェイト本体33の長手方向他端(即ち、ウェイト本体33の長手方向の第2端)に、ウェイト本体33と、ウェイト部34と、第2の柱部39と、天板44によって囲まれた第2の開口部30cを有する。なお、第1の開口部30bは、第1の蓋部材41によって閉塞され、第2の開口部30cは、第2の蓋部材42によって閉塞されている。そして、カウンタウェイト32、フレーム36、天板44及び蓋部材41~43でケース31が形成されている。
 図3及び図4に示すように、ウェイト本体33の厚み方向の第1面(内面)は、電池モジュール50が設置される設置面33aである。設置面33aには、複数の電池モジュール50が間隔を空けて設けられている。電池モジュール50は、ウェイト本体33の長手方向に間隔を空けて2列に並んで設けられるとともに、ウェイト本体33の短手方向に間隔を空けて3列に並んで設けられている。
 電池モジュール50は、リチウムイオン二次電池や、ニッケル・水素蓄電池のような電池セルとしての角型電池51と、角型電池51に対して熱的に結合される矩形平板状の伝熱プレート52と、を交互に並設して構成されている。したがって、電池モジュール50がウェイト本体33の短手方向に並んで設けられることで、角型電池51はウェイト本体33の短手方向に積層されている。本実施形態において、角型電池51は、車体12の上下方向(鉛直方向)に積層状態で設けられている。ウェイト本体33の短手方向は、角型電池51の積層方向と同じ方向に延びている。伝熱プレート52は、角型電池51に隣り合うように設けられている。伝熱プレート52は、厚み方向の全面が、角型電池51の厚み方向の面と接している。
 電池モジュール50において、角型電池51の並設方向両端に位置する角型電池51には、ブラケット53が固定されている。そして、ブラケット53を介してボルトBをウェイト本体33に螺合することで、電池モジュール50はウェイト本体33に固定されている。角型電池51の幅方向の第1面51a及び伝熱プレート52の幅方向の第1面は、カウンタウェイト32に接合されている。角型電池51の幅方向の第1面51aは、角型電池51の厚み方向及び高さ方向に直交する面である。伝熱プレート52の幅方向の第1面は、伝熱プレート52の厚み方向及び高さ方向に直交する面である。
 本実施形態では、角型電池51の幅方向の第1面51aが電池セルにおけるカウンタウェイト32との接合部分に対応する。また、この角型電池51の幅方向の第1面51aが接合されるウェイト本体33の設置面33aが、カウンタウェイト32における電池セルとの接合部分に対応する。また、設置面33aと反対側の面となるウェイト本体33の厚み方向の第2面(外面)が、カウンタウェイト32における電池セルとの接合部分と反対側の部分に対応する。そして、ウェイト本体33の厚み方向の第2面が、走行風と熱交換される放熱面33bとなる。即ち、カウンタウェイト32は、車体12の前方に配置されるとともに、車体12の外側に露出して走行風と直接熱交換される放熱面33bを有する。放熱面33bが、カウンタウェイト32における電池セルとの接合部分と反対側の部分に対応する。
 本実施形態において、カウンタウェイト32は、例えば、鉄などの金属材料から形成されている。角型電池51が発熱すると、カウンタウェイト32に熱が伝わり、その熱が吸収される。
 切欠部35の上面には、矩形平板状をなす載置板40が固定されている。載置板40上には、電池モジュール50の制御を行う制御機器が収容される収容ケース61及びリレーや配線が収容されるジャンクションボックス62が配設されている。
 図4に示すように、上記のように構成された電池パック30は、車体12の前方に形成された収容スペースSに収容される。電池パック30は、ウェイト本体33の設置面33aと反対側の放熱面33bが車体12の前方を向くように配設されている。放熱面33bは、角型電池51よりも外側に位置している。放熱面33bは、その全面が車体12の外側に露出している。また、電池パック30は、ウェイト部34が複数の電池モジュール50より下方(鉛直方向下方)に位置するように配設されている。
 次に、本実施形態のフォークリフト11の作用について説明する。
 フォークリフト11が前進すると、ウェイト本体33の放熱面33bは、走行風と熱交換されて冷却される。このとき、放熱面33bは、角型電池51におけるウェイト本体33との非接合部分よりも外側に位置しているため、放熱面33bは、角型電池51におけるウェイト本体33との非接合部分よりも走行風と熱交換されやすい。角型電池51におけるウェイト本体33との非接合部分は、例えば、角型電池51におけるウェイト本体33との接合部分(角型電池51の幅方向の第1面51a)と反対側の面となる角型電池51の幅方向の第2面51bを含む。特に、本実施形態では、放熱面33bは、車体12の外側に露出しているため、放熱面33bは、走行風と直接熱交換される。
 したがって、上記実施形態によれば、以下のような効果を得ることができる。
 (1)電池パック30は、カウンタウェイト32の放熱面33bが、角型電池51におけるカウンタウェイト32のウェイト本体33との非接合部分よりも走行風と熱交換されやすいように車体12に配設されている。このため、走行風によって放熱面33bを効率よく冷却することができ、カウンタウェイト32が過熱状態になりにくい。したがって、カウンタウェイト32は、角型電池51が発する熱を吸収しやすく、角型電池51を効率よく冷却することができる。
 (2)ウェイト本体33短手方向は、角型電池51の積層方向と同じ方向に延びている。ウェイト本体33が積層方向と同じ方向に延びることで、電池モジュール50の組み付け性が向上されている。
 (3)電池パック30は、放熱面33bが車体12の前方を向くように車体12に配設されている。走行風を受けやすい車体12の前方に放熱面33bを向けることで、ウェイト本体33の放熱面33bが走行風とより一層熱交換されやすく、カウンタウェイト32を更に効率よく冷却することができる。
 (4)放熱面33bは、その全面が走行風と直接熱交換される。このため、カウンタウェイト32を更に効率よく冷却することができる。
 (5)カウンタウェイト32は、ウェイト本体33から延設されたウェイト部34を有している。このため、カウンタウェイト32がウェイト本体33のみからなる場合と比べると、カウンタウェイト32の放熱面積が増加され、カウンタウェイト32が過熱状態になることが更に抑制される。したがって、カウンタウェイト32が、角型電池51が発する熱を吸収しやすく、角型電池51を効率よく冷却することができる。
 (6)電池パック30は、ウェイト部34が複数の電池モジュール50より鉛直方向下方に位置するように配設されている。このため、車体12の重心位置が低くなり、フォーク20に搭載することができる積荷22の許容重量が重くなる。
 (7)ウェイト本体33は、角型電池51よりも車体12の前方に設けられている。このため、車体12の前方から衝撃が加わったときに、この衝撃がウェイト本体33で吸収されて、角型電池51を保護できる。
 なお、上記実施形態は、以下のように変更してもよい。
 ○ 実施形態において、ウェイト本体33と角型電池51とが互いに直接接合されているが、これに限らず、熱電シートを介して間接的に接合されていてもよい。また、角型電池51が電池ホルダに保持されている場合には、電池ホルダを介して接合されていてもよい。
 ○ 実施形態において、ウェイト本体33の放熱面33bが、走行風と直接熱交換されなくてもよい。例えば、放熱面33bより前方の部分が車体12の一部によって覆われるとともに、車体12とウェイト本体33の放熱面33bとが互いに接合されていてもよい。この場合には、走行風と車体12の一部が熱交換を行い、冷却された車体12の一部を介して放熱面33bが間接的に冷却される。
 また、放熱面33bより前方に位置する車体12の一部とウェイト本体33の放熱面33bとの間に空間が設けられていてもよい。この場合には、走行風と車体12の一部とが熱交換を行うことにより、車体12の一部は冷却される。冷却された車体12の一部と、該車体12の一部とウェイト本体33の放熱面33bとの間に存在する熱媒体(空気)とが熱交換を行うことにより、該熱媒体は冷却される。そして、冷却された該熱媒体と放熱面33bとが熱交換を行うことにより、放熱面33bが冷却される。
 また、放熱面33bの全面ではなく、一部が車体12の外側に露出し、その一部のみが走行風と直接熱交換されるようにしてもよい。
 ○ 実施形態において、車体12の後方に収容スペースSを形成して、電池パック30を車体12の後方に配設してもよい。この場合、フォークリフト11が後進したときに、放熱面33bが角型電池51におけるウェイト本体33との非接合部分よりも走行風で冷却されるように、放熱面33bが車体12の後方を向くように電池パック30を車体12に配設する。
 ○ 実施形態において、ウェイト部34を設けず、ウェイト本体33のみでカウンタウェイト32を構成してもよい。
 ○ 実施形態において、ウェイト部34の形状は、どのような形状であってもよい。
 ○ 実施形態において、ウェイト本体33の形状は、どのような形状であってもよい。この場合であっても、ウェイト本体33における角型電池51との接合部分が、角型電池51におけるウェイト本体33との接合面と反対側の面よりも走行風と熱交換されやすいように電池パック30を配設する。
 ○ 実施形態において、電池セルとして、円筒型電池や、ラミネート型の電池を採用してもよい。
 ○ 実施形態において、ウェイト本体33の放熱面33bが車体12の車幅方向(横方向)を向くように配設されていてもよい。つまり、ウェイト本体33における角型電池51との接合部分が、角型電池51におけるウェイト本体33との接合面と反対側の面よりも走行風と熱交換されやすい位置に角型電池51及びカウンタウェイト32を配置できればよい。
 ○ 本発明の産業車両を、フォークリフト10以外の産業車両に具体化してもよい。産業車両を、例えば、パワーショベルに具体化してもよい。
 ○ 実施形態において、車体12に送風機を設けて、送風機によって放熱面33bに送風を行ってもよい。
 ○ 実施形態において、放熱面33bにフィンを形成して、熱交換効率を高めてもよい。また、カウンタウェイト32の外面、天板44の外面、蓋部材41~43の外面にフィンを形成してもよい。フィンの形状はどのような形状でもよい。フィンは、例えば、板状のフィン(ストレートフィン)や、ピン状のフィンでもよい。
 ○ 図5に示すように、角型電池51の幅方向に沿った伝熱プレート70の寸法を、角型電池51の幅方向の寸法よりも大きくして、伝熱プレート70が、角型電池51の幅方向の第2面51bに対して突出するようにしてもよい。すなわち、伝熱プレート70の一部が、角型電池51におけるウェイト本体33との接合部分(角型電池51の幅方向の第1面51a)と反対側に突出していてもよい。この場合、伝熱プレート70の、角型電池51の幅方向の第2面51bに対して突出している突出部71は、周囲の熱媒体と熱交換されて、角型電池51の発する熱を放熱する。このため、角型電池51を効率よく冷却することができる。また、ウェイト本体33と伝熱プレート70の突出部71で、角型電池51の幅方向両側から冷却を行うことで角型電池51における温度差が低減される。

Claims (6)

  1.  産業車両であって、
     車体と、
     前記車体に搭載された電池パックとを備え、
     前記電池パックは、カウンタウェイトと、該カウンタウェイトに一部分が接合された少なくとも一つの電池セルとを有し、
     前記電池パックは、前記カウンタウェイトにおける前記電池セルとの接合部分が、前記電池セルにおける前記カウンタウェイトとの非接合部分よりも走行風と熱交換されるように前記車体に配設される、産業車両。
  2.  前記電池セルは、複数設けられ、前記複数の電池セルは、前記車体の上下方向に積層された状態で前記カウンタウェイトに接合される、請求項1に記載の産業車両。
  3.  前記電池パックは、前記カウンタウェイトにおける前記電池セルとの接合部分と反対側の少なくとも一部が前記車体の前方を向くように配設される、請求項1又は請求項2に記載の産業車両。
  4.  前記電池パックは、前記カウンタウェイトにおける前記電池セルとの接合部分と反対側の少なくとも一部が前記走行風と直接熱交換されるように配設される、請求項1~請求項3のうちいずれか一項に記載の産業車両。
  5.  前記カウンタウェイトは、前記電池セルが接合されるとともに一方向に延設されたウェイト本体と、該ウェイト本体に設けられるウェイト部とを含み、
     前記ウェイト部は、前記ウェイト本体の延設方向とは異なる方向に延設される、請求項1~請求項4のうちいずれか一項に記載の産業車両。
  6.  前記カウンタウェイトは、前記車体の前方に配置されるとともに、前記車体の外側に露出して前記走行風と直接熱交換される放熱面を有する、請求項1~請求項5のうちいずれか一項に記載の産業車両。
