Abstract
金属板(特に、高強度金属板)の温間プレス成形を行うに際して、金属板の破断を抑制することができる金属板の温間プレス成形方法を提供する。プレス成形開始時の金属板1の温度と金型(パンチ14)の温度との差が200℃以下から同等の範囲になるように金型(パンチ14)の温度を加熱・調整する。
Description
本発明は、金属板(metal sheet)(特に、高強度金属板)を600℃程度まで加熱した後にプレス成形する金属板の温間プレス成形方法(hot and warm press forming method)に関するものである。
高張力鋼やステンレス鋼などの高強度金属板(被成形材)をプレス成形するにあたり、高強度金属板(被成形材)の成形性不良を補うために、被成形材を600℃程度まで加熱してプレス成形する温間プレス成形が行われている(例えば、特許文献1参照)。
温間プレス成形においては、加熱された金属板(被成形材)が金型(die)に接触すると、接触部分の熱が金型に奪われて温度が急激に低下する。一方、金型に接触しない部分は高温のままである。そして、被成形材に高温部と低温部が隣り合って存在する場合(すなわち、被成形材内の温度勾配が大きい場合)には、温間プレス成形中に高温部に歪が集中して破断に至る場合がある。
本発明は、上記のような事情に鑑みてなされたものであり、金属板(特に、高強度金属板)の温間プレス成形を行うに際して、金属板の破断を抑制することができる金属板の温間プレス成形方法を提供する。
前記課題を解決するために、本発明は以下の特徴を有する。
[1]金属板を加熱して金型でプレス成形する方法であって、プレス成形開始時の金属板の温度と金型の温度との差が200℃以下から同等の範囲になるように、金型の温度を調整することを特徴とする金属板の温間プレス成形方法。
[2]プレス成形開始時の金属板の温度が450~650℃であることを特徴とする前記[1]に記載の金属板の温間プレス成形方法。
[3]プレス成形開始時の金型の温度が600℃以下から250℃以上の範囲であることを特徴とする前記[1]または[2]に記載の金属板の温間プレス成形方法。
[4]前記[1]~[3]のいずれかに記載の金属板の温間プレス成形方法により製造されたことを特徴とするプレス成形品。
[5]前記[1]~[3]のいずれかに記載の金属板の温間プレス成形方法を実施するための温間プレス成形装置であって、金型を加熱する金型加熱手段を備えていることを特徴とする温間プレス成形装置。
本発明においては、プレス成形開始時の金属板の温度と金型の温度との差が200℃以下から同等の範囲になるように金型の温度を調整しているので、温間プレス成形中に金型に接触した部分の温度が急激に低下することが防止されることから、温間プレス成形中に金属板に発生する温度勾配を小さくすることができ、金属板の破断を抑制することができる。
本発明の一実施形態を以下に述べる。
本発明の一実施形態における金属板の温間プレス成形方法は、金属板(被成形材)を所定温度に加熱する工程と、加熱された被成形材を温間プレス成形装置に装着する搬送工程と、被成形材を金型でプレス成形するプレス成形工程よりなっている。なお、被成形材を温間プレス成形装置に装着してから加熱工程を行うことも可能である。
その上で、この実施形態においては、プレス成形開始時の金属板の温度と金型の温度との差(金属板の温度-金型の温度)が200℃以下から同等の範囲になるように、金型の温度を加熱・調整している。
その際に、金属板(被成形材)は、プレス成形開始時の温度が450~650℃になるように、ガス加熱炉、電気炉、通電加熱装置、誘導加熱装置などによって、所定の温度に加熱され、温間プレス成形装置に装着するとよい。
なお、金型の表面が加熱による酸化などのダメージを軽減するために、プレス成形開始時の金型の温度は600℃以下、250℃以上とすることが望ましい。
ここで、金型の温度を加熱・調整するための金型加熱手段としては、通電加熱や誘導加熱などのジュール熱を利用して金型を加熱する方法、ガスバーナーなどの燃焼熱を用いて金型を加熱する方法、熱媒体を金型内に循環させて金型を加熱する方法(一定温度に保たれた加熱炉内からガスを金型内部に導く)など、一般的な方法をすべて利用することができる。
図1は、この実施形態における温間プレス成形装置の概略図である。図1に示すように、この実施形態における温間プレス成形装置(hot and warm press forming apparatus)10は、被成形材(金属板)1の温間プレスを行うために、ダイ11と、ホルダー12と、ドロービード13と、パンチ14とを備えているとともに、金型(ここでは、パンチ14)の温度を加熱・調整するための金型加熱手段として、パンチ14の内部に電熱線15を備えている。
なお、金型(パンチ14)の温度は、熱電対やIRカメラなどの金型温度測定手段(図示せず)によってモニターされており、それによって、金型(パンチ14)の温度は適正に制御される。
このようにして、この実施形態においては、プレス成形開始時の金属板1の温度と金型(パンチ14)の温度との差が200℃以下から同等の範囲になるように金型(パンチ14)の温度を加熱・調整しているので、温間プレス成形中に金型(パンチ14)に接触した部分の温度が急激に低下することが防止されることから、温間プレス成形中に金属板1に発生する温度勾配を小さくすることができ、金属板1の破断を抑制することができる。
本発明の実施例1を以下に述べる。
この実施例1においては、図1に示した温間プレス成形装置10を用いて、350mm×350mm×1.2mmの被成形材(引張強度980MPa級熱延鋼板)を温間プレス成形することとし、被成形材1を窒素雰囲気に保たれた電気炉で加熱した後、温間プレス成形装置10にセットし、所定のプレス成形開始温度でプレス成形(張出成形)(bulging)を行った。
その際に、温間プレス成形装置10の金型(パンチ14)は直径180mmの球頭パンチ(spherical punch)で、内部に電熱線15を備えており、所定温度までパンチ14を加熱した。なお、プレス成形開始直前のパンチ14の表面温度は接触式の温度計で測定した。
また、被成形材1はダイ11とホルダー12で保持されるとともに、ダイ11とホルダー12にはドロービード13があり、ホルダー12はしわ押さえ力10tonfを負荷され、被成形材1の流入量がほとんど零での張出成形であった。
そして、プレス成形開始時の被成形材1の温度と金型(パンチ14)の温度を各種組み合わせ、それぞれの場合について張出成形量を変えてプレス成形を行い、被成形材1の割れ(破断)の有無を判定した。その結果を表1に示す。
表1に示すように、温間プレス成形開始時の被成形材温度が450℃の場合、金型温度250℃以上で成形性が向上し、割れ無しで成形できる張出成形量が、金型温度250℃未満、温度差220℃以上では26mmであったのが、金型温度250℃以上、温度差200℃以下では27mm以上と増加した。また、プレス成形開始時の被成形材温度650℃の場合、金型温度450℃以上で成形性が向上し、割れ無しで成形できる張出成形量が、金型温度450℃未満、温度差220℃以上では29mmであったのが、金型温度450℃以上、温度差200℃以下では30mm以上と増加した。
すなわち、プレス成形開始時の被成形材1と金型(パンチ14)の温度差が200℃以下の場合(本発明例)は、プレス成形開始時の被成形材1と金型(パンチ14)の温度差が200℃超えの場合(比較例)に比べて、プレス成形性が向上している。
また、被成形材のプレス開始温度が450℃未満の場合、張出成形量は26mmにも満たなかった。
さらに、金型のプレス開始温度が600℃を超えた場合、張出成形の金型表面の酸化が著しくて成形が困難であった。
これによって、本発明の有効性が確認された。
本発明により、難加工性の金属板を、割れの発生なく温間プレス成形することができる。

Claims (5)
- 金属板を加熱して金型でプレス成形する方法であって、プレス成形開始時の金属板の温度と金型の温度との差が200℃以下から同等の範囲になるように、金型の温度を調整することを特徴とする金属板の温間プレス成形方法。
- プレス成形開始時の金属板の温度が450~650℃であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の金属板の温間プレス成形方法。
- プレス成形開始時の金型の温度が600℃以下から250℃以上の範囲であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の金属板の温間プレス成形方法。
- 請求項1または2に記載の金属板の温間プレス成形方法により製造されたことを特徴とするプレス成形品。
- 請求項1または2に記載の金属板の温間プレス成形方法を実施するための温間プレス成形装置であって、金型を加熱する金型加熱手段を備えていることを特徴とする温間プレス成形装置。
