Description

発光装置
 本発明は、発光装置に関する。
 近年は、有機EL(Electro-Luminescence)素子などの発光素子を照明装置の光源として利用することが検討されている。このような照明装置に求められる特性の一つに、白色光の発光がある。例えば特許文献1には、図1に示すように、一つの基板上に赤色を発光する領域520、緑色を発光する領域530、及び青色を発光する領域540を形成し、これらの領域を同時に発光させることにより、白色光を発光させることが記載されている。
 一方、特許文献2には、複数のパネル状の有機発光光源を有する照明装置が記載されている。
 また特許文献3,4には、陽極と陰極の間で、複数の有機EL発光層を積層させることが記載されている。これらの文献には、複数の有機EL発光層それぞれの間に、電荷発生層を設けることが記載されている。

 照明として用いられる発光装置に求められる特性の一つに、演色性を向上させることがある。本発明が解決しようとする課題としては、演色性を向上させることが一例として挙げられる。
 請求項1に記載の発明は、互いに異なるスペクトルピークの光を発光する複数種類の発光層で構成される第1発光層群を有する第1発光領域と、
 互いに異なるスペクトルピークの光を発光する複数種類の発光層で構成される第2発光層群を有する第2発光領域と、
を備え、
 前記第2発光層群の少なくとも1種類の前記発光層は、前記第1発光層群のいずれの発光層とも異なるスペクトルピークの光を発光し、
 前記第1発光領域は、前記第1発光層群を発光させることにより第1の色を発光し、
 前記第2発光領域は、前記第2発光層群を発光させることにより前記第1の色を発光する発光装置である。
 上述した目的、およびその他の目的、特徴および利点は、以下に述べる好適な実施の形態、およびそれに付随する以下の図面によってさらに明らかになる。

 以下、本発明の実施の形態について、図面を用いて説明する。尚、すべての図面において、同様な構成要素には同様の符号を付し、適宜説明を省略する。
 また、以下の実施形態において、同一の色とは、xy色度図において予め定められた範囲に含まれる色、又は予め定められた範囲の色温度を有する色、すなわち同一色の範囲内の色度に含まれる領域として定義される。予め定められた範囲としては、例えばJISで定義されている範囲を用いることができる。例えば昼光色、昼白色、白色、温白色、及び電球色は、JISZ9112で定義されている通りである。この定義によれば、昼光色は、xy色度図において(0.3274,0.3673)、(0.3282,0.3297)、(0.2998,0.3396)、及び、(0.3064,0.3091)を頂点とした四角形で囲まれた領域であり、相間色温度Tcpは5700~7100(K)である。また昼白色は、xy色度図において(0.3616,0.3875)、(0.3552,0.3476)、(0.3326,0.3635)、及び、(0.3324,0.3296)を頂点とした四角形で囲まれた領域であり、相間色温度Tcpは4600~5500(K)である。また白色は、xy色度図において(0.3985,0.4102)、(0.3849,0.3668)、(0.3652,0.3880)、及び、(0.3584,0.3499)を頂点とした四角形で囲まれた領域であり、相間色温度Tcpは3800~4500(K)である。また温白色は、xy色度図において(0.4305,0.4218)、(0.4141,0.3834)、(0.3966,0.4044)、及び、(0.3856,0.3693)を頂点とした四角形で囲まれた領域であり、相間色温度Tcpは3250~3800(K)である。また電球色は、xy色度図において(0.4834,0.4832)、(0.4594,0.3971)、(0.4305,0.4218)、及び、(0.4153,0.3862)を頂点とした四角形で囲まれた領域であり、相間色温度Tcpは2600~3250(K)である。
(第1の実施形態)
 図2は、第1の実施形態に係る発光装置10の構成を示す平面図である。図3は、発光装置10が有する第1発光領域100の構成を示す平面図である。図4は、発光装置10が有する第2発光領域200の構成を示す平面図である。
 図2に示すように、発光装置10は、第1発光領域100及び第2発光領域200を有している。第1発光領域100は、図3に示すように、第1発光層群102を有している。第1発光層群102は、発光層112、発光層122、及び発光層132を有している。これら複数種類の発光層は、互いに異なるスペクトルピークを有する光を発光する。第2発光領域200は、図4に示すように、第2発光層群202を有している。第2発光層群202は、発光層212、発光層222、及び発光層232を有している。これら複数種類の発光層は、互いに異なるスペクトルピークを有する光を発光する。そして第2発光層群202が有する少なくとも1種類の発光層は、第1発光層群102が有するいずれの発光層とも異なるスペクトルピークの光を発光する。例えば第1発光層群102を構成する発光層は、発光強度が最大となる波長が互いに異なっている。第2発光層群202を構成する発光層も、発光強度が最大となる波長が互いに異なっている。そして第2発光層群202が有する少なくとも1種類の発光層は、発光強度が最大となる波長が、第1発光層群102が有するいずれの発光層とも異なる。
 そして第1発光領域100は、第1発光層群102を発光させることにより第1の色を発光する。また第2発光領域200も、第2発光層群202を発光させることにより第1の色(例えば昼光色、昼白色、白色、温白色、又は電球色)を発光する。第1の色を発光するとき、第2発光領域200は、少なくとも、第1発光層群102が有するいずれの発光層とも異なるスペクトルピークの光を発光する発光層を発光させる。このため、発光装置10が発光する光の演色性は向上する。
 なお、第1発光領域100が発光する光と、第2発光領域200が発光する光は異なるスペクトルピークを含んでいる。ただし、第1発光領域100が発光する第1の色の色度と、第2発光領域200が発光する第1の色の色度はxy色度図における同一の色の範囲内に位置する。ここで言う同一の色の範囲内とは、例えばJISZ9112で定義されている範囲である。このため、人は同一の色と認識する。以下、詳細に説明する。
 まず、図2を用いて発光装置10を説明する。本実施形態において、第1発光領域100は第1の発光パネルであり、第2発光領域200は第2の発光パネルである。すなわち第1発光層群102と、第2発光層群202は、互いに異なる基板に形成されている。本図に示す例では第1発光領域100及び第2発光領域200は、2方向(図中X方向及びY方向)の双方において、互い違いに配置されている。
 第1発光領域100内において、第1発光層群102は、ストライプ状に形成された複数の発光層を有している。すなわち第1発光層群102を構成する複数の発光層は、平面視において互いに異なる領域に形成されている。また第2発光領域200内において、第2発光層群202は、ストライプ状に形成された複数の発光層を有している。すなわち第2発光層群202を構成する複数の発光層は、平面視において互いに異なる領域に形成されている。このため、希望する種類の発光層のみを選択して発光させることができる。また第1発光層群102に属する複数の発光層の平面形状及び第2発光層群202に属する複数の発光層の平面形状はいずれもストライプ状である。このため、第1発光領域100に複数の発光層を高密度に配置することができ、かつ第2発光領域200に複数の発光層を高密度に配置することができる。
 なお、第1発光領域100が有する発光層及び第2発光領域200が有する発光層は、例えば有機EL発光層であるが、他の発光層(例えばLED:Light Emitting Diode)であってもよい。
 各発光層に加わる電圧または電流は、制御部12によって制御されている。制御部12は、例えば表示ドライバである。この場合、制御部12は、第1発光層群102が有する複数の発光層の発光強度を互いに独立して制御している。これにより、制御部12は、第1発光領域100が発光する光の色を変更することができる。また制御部12は、第2発光層群202が有する複数の発光層の発光強度の相対比を制御することにより、第2発光領域200が発光する光の色を変更することができる。
 なお、第1発光領域100及び第2発光領域200が発光する光の色を固定してよい場合、制御部12は、第1発光領域100が有する発光層及び第2発光領域200が有する発光層それぞれに予め定められた電圧を印加する回路、例えば互いに並列に設けられた複数の抵抗素子で形成されていても良い。
 次に、図3を用いて第1発光領域100の構成を説明する。第1発光領域100は、発光素子110,120,130を有している。発光素子110,120,130はストライプ状であり、第1の方向(図中y方向)に延伸している。また発光素子110,120,130は、第1の方向に直交する第2の方向(図中x方向)にこの順に繰り返し配置されている。
 発光素子110は発光層112を有しており、発光素子120は発光層122を有しており、発光素子130は発光層132を有している。発光層112,122,132は第1発光層群102を構成しており、互いに異なる色を発光する。例えば発光層112,122,132が発光する光の色の組み合わせは、赤、緑、及び青であるが、赤、黄、及び青であってもよいし、マゼンダ、黄、及びシアンであってもよいし、赤、シアン、及び青であっても良い。
 次に、図4を用いて第2発光領域200の構成を説明する。第2発光領域200は、発光素子210,220,230を有している。発光素子210,220,230はストライプ状であり、第1の方向(図中y方向)に延伸している。また発光素子210,220,230は、第1の方向に直交する第2の方向(図中x方向)にこの順に繰り返し配置されている。
 発光素子210は発光層212を有しており、発光素子220は発光層222を有しており、発光素子230は発光層232を有している。発光層212,222,232は第2発光層群202を構成しており、互いに異なる色を発光する。
 発光層212,222,232のうち少なくとも一つは、第1発光領域100の発光層112,122,132のいずれとも異なる色の光を発光する。
 例えば第1発光領域100の発光層112,122,132が発光する色の組み合わせが赤、緑、及び青である場合、第2発光領域200の発光層212,222,232が発光する色の組み合わせは、赤、黄、及び青である。この場合、第1発光領域100及び第2発光領域200のいずれも、昼光色、昼白色、白色、温白色、及び電球色を発光することができる。なお、第2発光領域200の発光層212,222,232が発光する色の組み合わせは、マゼンダ、黄、及びシアン、又は赤、シアン、及び青であってもよい。
 また第1発光領域100の発光層112,122,132が発光する色の組み合わせが赤、黄、及び青である場合、第2発光領域200の発光層212,222,232が発光する色の組み合わせは、赤、緑、及び青、マゼンダ、黄、及びシアン、又は赤、シアン、及び青である。
 また第1発光領域100の発光層112,122,132が発光する色の組み合わせがマゼンダ、黄、及びシアンである場合、第2発光領域200の発光層212,222,232が発光する色の組み合わせは、赤、緑、及び青、赤、黄、及び青、又は赤、シアン、及び青である。
 また第1発光領域100の発光層112,122,132が発光する色の組み合わせが赤、シアン、及び青である場合、第2発光領域200の発光層212,222,232が発光する色の組み合わせは、赤、緑、及び青、赤、黄、及び青、又はマゼンダ、黄、及びシアンである。
 なお、第2発光領域200の発光層212,222,232が発光する色の組み合わせは、第1発光領域100の発光層112,122,132が発光する色の組み合わせと同じであっても良い。ただしこの場合においても、発光層212,222,232の少なくとも一つは、発光する光のスペクトルピークが発光層112,122,132とは異なる。この場合であっても、発光装置10の演色性を高めることができる。
 図5は、発光素子110の層構成を示す断面図である。この図に示す例において、発光素子110は、有機EL素子である。発光素子110は、基板300上に、陽極302、正孔注入層312、正孔輸送層314、発光層112、電子輸送層316、電子注入層318、及び陰極304をこの順に積層した積層構造を有している。
 なお、発光素子120,130,210,220,230が有機EL素子である場合、これら発光素子は、発光層112の代わりに発光層122、発光層132、発光層212、発光層222、又は発光層232が形成される点を除いて、発光素子110と同様の層構成を有している。第1発光領域100が有する発光素子及び第2発光領域200が有する発光素子がいずれも有機EL素子である場合、各発光素子が発光する光のスペクトルをブロードにし、演色性評価数の基準光のスペクトルに近付けることができる。この場合、発光装置10の演色性を特に高くすることができる。
 基板300は、例えば石英、ガラス、金属、またはプラスチックなどの樹脂によって形成されている。陽極302及び陰極304は、一方がITO(Indium Tin Oxide)、IZO(インジウム亜鉛酸化物)、及びZnO(酸化亜鉛)などの透明電極であり、他方がAlなどの金属によって形成されている。
 正孔注入層312、正孔輸送層314、発光層112、電子輸送層316、及び電子注入層318は、塗布法及び蒸着法のいずれの方法で形成されても良い。なお、蒸着法により形成される場合、各層の材料としては、以下が例示される。
 発光層112に用いられる燐光性の有機化合物としては、イリジウム錯体であるBis (3,5-difluoro-2- (2-pyridyl) phenyl- (2-carboxypyridyl) iridium (III)、Tris (2-phenylpyridine) iridium(III)、Bis (2-phenylbenzothiazolato) (acetylacetonate) iridium(III)、オスミウム錯体であるOsmium(II) bis(3-trifluoromethyl -5-(2-pyridyl) -pyrazolate)dimethylphenylphosphine、希土類化合物のTris (dibenzoylmethane) phenanthroline europium(III)、白金錯体である2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18-Octaethyl-21H, 23H- porphine,platinum(II)等を例示することができる。
 また、発光層112、電子輸送層316、及び電子注入層318の主成分となる電子輸送性を有する有機化合物としては、p-テルフェニルやクアテルフェニル等の多環化合物およびそれらの誘導体、ナフタレン、テトラセン、ピレン、コロネン、クリセン、アントラセン、ジフェニルアントラセン、ナフタセン、フェナントレン等の縮合多環炭化水素化合物及びそれらの誘導体、フェナントロリン、バソフェナントロリン、フェナントリジン、アクリジン、キノリン、キノキサリン、フェナジン等の縮合複素環化合物およびそれらの誘導体や、フルオロセイン、ペリレン、フタロペリレン、ナフタロペリレン、ペリノン、フタロペリノン、ナフタロペリノン、ジフェニルブタジエン、テトラフェニルブタジエン、オキサジアゾール、アルダジン、ビスベンゾキサゾリン、ビススチリル、ピラジン、シクロペンタジエン、オキシン、アミノキノリン、イミン、ジフェニルエチレン、ビニルアントラセン、ジアミノカルバゾール、ピラン、チオピラン、ポリメチン、メロシアニン、キナクリドン、ルブレン等およびそれらの誘導体等を例示することができる。
 さらに、電子輸送性を有する有機化合物として、金属キレート錯体化合物、特に金属キレート化オキサノイド化合物では、トリス(8-キノリノラト)アルミニウム、ビス(8-キノリノラト)マグネシウム、ビス[ベンゾ(f)-8-キノリノラト]亜鉛、ビス(2-メチル-8-キノリノラト)(4-フェニル-フェノラト)アルミニウム、トリス(8-キノリノラト)インジウム、トリス(5-メチル-8-キノリノラト)アルミニウム、8-キノリノラトリチウム、トリス(5-クロロ-8-キノリノラト)ガリウム、ビス(5-クロロ-8-キノリノラト)カルシウム等の8-キノリノラト或いはその誘導体を配位子として少なくとも一つ有する金属錯体も例示することができる。
 また、電子輸送性を有する有機化合物として、オキサジアゾール類、トリアジン類、スチルベン誘導体およびジスチリルアリーレン誘導体、スチリル誘導体、ジオレフィン誘導体も好適に使用され得る。
 さらに、電子輸送性を有する有機化合物として使用できる有機化合物として、2,5-ビス(5,7-ジ-t-ベンチル-2-ベンゾオキサゾリル)-1,3,4-チアゾール、4,4'-ビス(5,7-t-ペンチル-2-ベンゾオキサゾリル)スチルベン、4,4'-ビス[5,7-ジ-(2-メチル-2-ブチル)-2-ベンゾオキサゾリル]スチルベン、2,5-ビス(5.7-ジ-t-ペンチル-2-ベンゾオキサゾリル)チオフェン、2,5-ビス[5-(α,α-ジメチルベンジル)-2-ベンゾオキサゾリル]チオフェン、2,5-ビス[5,7-ジ-(2-メチル-2-ブチル)-2-ベンゾオキサゾリル]-3,4-ジフェニルチオフェン、2,5-ビス(5-メチル-2-ベンゾオキサゾリル)チオフェン、4,4'-ビス(2-ベンゾオキサゾリル)ビフェニル、5-メチル-2-{2-[4-(5-メチル-2-ベンゾオキサゾリル)フェニル]ビニル}ベンゾオキサゾール、2-[2-(4-クロロフェニル)ビニル]ナフト(1,2-d)オキサゾール等のベンゾオキサゾール系、2,2'-(p-フェニレンジピニレン)-ビスベンゾチアゾール等のベンゾチアゾール系、2-{2-[4-(2-ベンゾイミダゾリル)フェニル〕ビニル}ベンゾイミダゾール、2-[2-(4-カルボキシフェニル)ビニル]ベンゾイミダゾール等も挙げられる。
 さらに、電子輸送性を有する有機化合物として、1,4-ビス(2-メチルスチリル)ベンゼン、1,4-ビス(3-メチルスチリル)ベンゼン、1,4-ビス(4-メチルスチリル)ベンゼン、ジスチリルベンゼン、1,4-ビス(2-エチルスチリル)ベンゼン、1,4-ビス(3-エチルスチリル)ベンゼン、1,4-ビス(2-メチルスチリル)-2-メチルベンゼン、1,4-ビス(2-メチルスチリル)-2-エチルベンゼン等も挙げられる。
 また、さらに、電子輸送性を有する有機化合物として、2,5-ビス(4-メチルスチリル)ピラジン、2,5-ビス(4-エチルスチリル)ピラジン、2,5-ビス[2-(1-ナフチル)ビニル]ピラジン、2,5-ビス(4-メトキシスチリル)ピラジン、2,5-ビス[2-(4-ビフェニル)ビニル]ピラジン、2,5-ビス[2-(1-ピレニル)ビニル]ピラジン等が挙げられる。
 その他、さらに、電子輸送性を有する有機化合物として、1,4-フェニレンジメチリディン、4,4'-フェニレンジメチリディン、2,5-キシリレンジメチリディン、2,6-ナフチレンジメチリディン、1,4-ビフェニレンジメチリディン、1,4-p-テレフェニレンジメチリディン、9,10-アントラセンジイルジメチリディン、4,4'-(2,2-ジ-t-ブチルフェニルビニル)ビフェニル、4,4'-(2,2-ジフェニルビニル)ビフェニル等、従来有機EL素子の作製に使用されている公知のものを適宜用いることができる。
 一方、正孔輸送層314や正孔輸送性の発光層に用いられ、正孔輸送性を有する有機化合物としては、N,N,N',N'-テトラフェニル-4,4'-ジアミノフェニル、N,N'-ジフェニル-N,N'-ジ(3-メチルフェニル)-4,4'-ジアミノビフェニル、2,2-ビス(4-ジ-p-トリルアミノフェニル)プロパン、N,N,N',N'-テトラ-p-トリル-4,4'-ジアミノビフェニル、ビス(4-ジ-p-トリルアミノフェニル)フェニルメタン、N,N'-ジフェニル-N,N'-ジ(4-メトキシフェニル)-4,4'-ジアミノビフェニル、N,N,N',N'-テトラフェニル-4,4'-ジアミノジフェニルエーテル、4,4'-ビス(ジフェニルアミノ)クオードリフェニル、4-N,N-ジフェニルアミノ-(2-ジフェニルビニル)ベンゼン、3-メトキシ-4'-N,N-ジフェニルアミノスチルベンゼン、N-フェニルカルバゾール、1,1-ビス(4-ジ-p-トリアミノフェニル)-シクロヘキサン、1,1-ビス(4-ジ-p-トリアミノフェニル)-4-フェニルシクロヘキサン、ビス(4-ジメチルアミノ-2-メチルフェニル)-フェニルメタン、N,N,N-トリ(p-トリル)アミン、4-(ジ-p-トリルアミノ)-4'-[4(ジ-p-トリルアミノ)スチリル]スチルベン、N,N,N',N'-テトラ-p-トリル-4,4'-ジアミノ-ビフェニル、N,N,N',N'-テトラフェニル-4,4'-ジアミノ-ビフェニルN-フェニルカルバゾール、4,4'-ビス[N-(1-ナフチル)-N-フェニル-アミノ]ビフェニル、4,4''-ビス[N-(1-ナフチル)-N-フェニル-アミノ]p-ターフェニル、4,4'-ビス[N-(2-ナフチル)-N-フェニル-アミノ]ビフェニル、4,4'-ビス[N-(3-アセナフテニル)-N-フェニル-アミノ]ビフェニル、1,5-ビス[N-(1-ナフチル)-N-フェニル-アミノ]ナフタレン、4,4'-ビス[N-(9-アントリル)-N-フェニル-アミノ]ビフェニル、4,4''-ビス[N-(1-アントリル)-N-フェニル-アミノ]p-ターフェニル、4,4'-ビス[N-(2-フェナントリル)-N-フェニル-アミノ]ビフェニル、4,4'-ビス[N-(8-フルオランテニル)-N-フェニル-アミノ]ビフェニル、4,4'-ビス[N-(2-ピレニル)-N-フェニル-アミノ]ビフェニル、4,4'-ビス[N-(2-ペリレニル)-N-フェニル-アミノ]ビフェニル、4,4'-ビス[N-(1-コロネニル)-N-フェニル-アミノ]ビフェニル、2,6-ビス(ジ-p-トリルアミノ)ナフタレン、2,6-ビス[ジ-(1-ナフチル)アミノ]ナフタレン、2,6-ビス[N-(1-ナフチル)-N-(2-ナフチル)アミノ]ナフタレン、4.4''-ビス[N,N-ジ(2-ナフチル)アミノ]ターフェニル、4.4'-ビス{N-フェニル-N-[4-(1-ナフチル)フェニル]アミノ}ビフェニル、4,4'-ビス[N-フェニル-N-(2-ピレニル)-アミノ]ビフェニル、2,6-ビス[N,N-ジ(2-ナフチル)アミノ]フルオレン、4,4''-ビス(N,N-ジ-p-トリルアミノ)ターフェニル、ビス(N-1-ナフチル)(N-2-ナフチル)アミン等を例示することができる。
 さらに、正孔輸送性を有する有機化合物としては、上述の有機化合物をポリマ中に分散したものや、ポリマ化したものも使用できる。ポリパラフェニレンビニレンやその誘導体等のいわゆるπ共役ポリマ、ポリ(N-ビニルカルバゾール)に代表される正孔輸送性非共役ポリマ、ポリシラン類のシグマ共役ポリマも用いることができる。
 正孔注入層312としては、特に限定はないが、銅フタロシアニン(CuPc:Copper Phthalocyanine)等の金属フタロシアニン類および無金属フタロシアニン類、カーボン膜、ポリアニリン等の導電性ポリマが好適に使用できる。
 そして、発光素子110が発光する光のスペクトルピークは、例えば発光層112の材料や膜厚を変えることにより、変更することができる、また、陽極302と陰極304の間の厚さtを変えることによっても、発光素子110が発光する光のスペクトルピークを変えることができる。発光素子120,130,210,220,230についても、同様である。
 以上、本実施形態によれば、発光装置10は第1発光領域100及び第2発光領域200を有している。第1発光領域100及び第2発光領域200は、いずれも同一の色の光を発光することができる。そして第2発光領域200が有する発光層212,222,232の少なくとも一つは、第1発光領域100が有する発光層112,122,132のいずれとも異なるスペクトルピークを有する光を発光する。従って、発光装置10が発光する光の演色性は向上する。
 特に本実施形態では、発光素子110,120,130,210,220,230はストライプ状である。ここで、これらの発光素子を同一の領域に繰り返し配置した場合、同一の発光素子の配置間隔(例えば発光素子110の配置間隔)が人の目の分解能よりも広くなり、発光装置10が発光する光が白色に見えなくなる可能性がある。これに対して本実施形態では、発光素子110,120,130は第1発光領域100に形成し、発光素子210,220,230は第2発光領域200に配置しているため、このような問題が生じることを抑制できる。
 なお、第1発光領域100及び第2発光領域200の配置は、図2に示した例に限定されない。例えば図6に示すように、第1発光領域100及び第2発光領域200は、一方向(図中Y方向)に互い違いに配置されていても良い。
(第2の実施形態)
 図7は、第2の実施形態に係る発光装置10の構成を示す平面図である。本実施形態に係る発光装置10は、第1発光領域100の基板300及び第2発光領域200の基板300が一体である点を除いて、第1の実施形態に係る発光装置10と同様の構成である。
 具体的には、基板300のうち第1発光領域100となるべき領域には、図3に示した発光素子110,120,130が繰り返し配置されている。また基板300のうち第2発光領域200となるべき領域には、図4に示した発光素子210,220,230が繰り返し配置されている。
 なお、図8に示すように、第1発光領域100の周囲を第2発光領域200が取り囲むように、第1発光領域100及び第2発光領域200を配置しても良い。
 本実施形態によっても、第1の実施形態と同様の効果を得ることができる。また、一つの基板300に第1発光領域100及び第2発光領域200が形成されているため、発光装置10を所望する位置に設置するときの労力が小さくなる。
(第3の実施形態)
 第3の実施形態に係る発光装置10は、第1発光領域100が有する発光層のレイアウト、及び第2発光領域200が有する発光層のレイアウトを除いて、第1の実施形態に係る発光装置10と同様の構成である。
 図9は、本実施形態に係る第1発光領域100の平面図である。本実施形態において、第1発光領域100は基板300のほぼ全面上に発光素子140を有している。発光素子140は、発光層112,122,132を積層した構成を有している。すなわち発光素子140からは、発光層112が発光した光、発光層122が発光した光、及び発光層132が発光した光が重なって出射される。
 図10は、本実施形態に係る第2発光領域200の平面図である。本実施形態において、第2発光領域200は基板300のほぼ全面上に発光素子240を有している。発光素子240は、発光層212,222,232を積層した構成を有している。すなわち発光素子240からは、発光層212が発光した光、発光層222が発光した光、及び発光層232が発光した光が重なって出射される。
 図11は、発光素子140の構成の第1例を示す断面図である。発光素子140は、基板300上に、陽極302、正孔注入層312、正孔輸送層314、発光層112、発光層122、発光層132、電子輸送層316、電子注入層318、及び陰極304をこの順に積層した構成を示している。すなわち陽極302及び陰極304の間には、発光層112,122,132が互いに重なって形成されている。発光層112,122,132は互いに直列に配置されている。
 図12は、発光素子140の構成の第2例を示す断面図である。本例における発光素子140は、発光層112と発光層122の間に電荷発生層150が設けられており、発光層122と発光層132の間に電荷発生層152が設けられている点を除いて、図11に示した第1例と同様の構成である。電荷発生層150及び電荷発生層152としては、例えば特許文献3に記載された材料を用いることができる。
 そして、発光層112,122,132の材料や膜厚などは、第1発光領域100から第1の色の光が出射されるように、調整されている。
 なお発光素子240の構成は、発光層112,122,132の代わりに発光層212,222,232を有している点を除いて、図11又は図12に示した発光素子140の構成と同様である。そして、発光層212,222,232の材料や膜厚などは、第2発光領域200から第1の色の光が出射されるように、調整されている。
 なお本実施形態において、第2の実施形態に係る発光装置10のように、発光素子140及び発光素子240は、同一の基板300のうち互いに異なる領域に形成されていても良い。
 本実施形態によっても、第1の実施形態と同様の効果を得ることができる。また第1発光領域100からは、発光層112が発光した光、発光層122が発光した光、及び発光層132が発光した光が重なって出射され、第2発光領域200からは、発光層212が発光した光、発光層222が発光した光、及び発光層232が発光した光が重なって出射される。このため、発光装置10に近づいても、第1発光領域100及び第2発光領域200が出射する光は、いずれも第1の光に見える。
 以上、図面を参照して本発明の実施形態について述べたが、これらは本発明の例示であり、上記以外の様々な構成を採用することもできる。

Claims (8)

  1.  互いに異なるスペクトルピークの光を発光する複数種類の発光層で構成される第1発光層群を有する第1発光領域と、
     互いに異なるスペクトルピークの光を発光する複数種類の発光層で構成される第2発光層群を有する第2発光領域と、
    を備え、
     前記第2発光層群の少なくとも1種類の発光層は、前記第1発光層群のいずれの発光層とも異なるスペクトルピークの光を発光し、
     前記第1発光領域は、前記第1発光層群を発光させることにより第1の色を発光し、
     前記第2発光領域は、前記第2発光層群を発光させることにより前記第1の色を発光する発光装置。
  2.  請求項1に記載の発光装置において、
     xy色度図において、前記第1発光領域が発光する前記第1の色と、前記第2発光領域が発光する前記第1の色は、同一色の色度の範囲内に含まれる発光装置。
  3.  ストライプ状に形成された複数の発光層によりなる第1発光層群と、
     ストライプ状に形成された複数の発光層によりなる第2発光層群とにより構成されている請求項2に記載の発光装置。
  4.  前記第1発光層群は、赤色を発光する発光層、緑色を発光する発光層、及び青色を発光する発光層を含んでおり、
     前記第2発光層群は、赤色を発光する発光層、黄色を発光する発光層、及び青色を発光する発光層を含んでいる請求項3に記載の発光装置。
  5. 前記第1発光層群及び前記第2発光層群に加える電流値または電圧を制御することにより、前記第1発光領域及び前記第2発光領域から前記第1の色を発光させる制御部を備える請求項4に記載の発光装置。
  6.  互いに重なって形成された複数の発光層によりなる前記第1発光層群と、
     互いに重なって形成された複数の発光層によりなる前記第2発光層群とを含む請求項2に記載の発光装置。
  7.  前記第1発光層群は、赤色を発光する発光層、緑色を発光する発光層、及び青色を発光する発光層を含んでおり、
     前記第2発光層群は、赤色を発光する発光層、黄色を発光する発光層、及び青色を発光する発光層を含んでいる請求項6に記載の発光装置。
  8. 前記第1発光層群及び前記第2発光層群に加える電流値または電圧を制御することにより、前記第1発光領域及び前記第2発光領域から前記第1の色を発光させる制御部を備える請求項7に記載の発光装置。
