- the left and right chambers 22L, 22R are positioned below the left and right thighs of the large seated occupant Pl and below the left and right thighs of the small seated occupant Ps. Is arranged (interval in the vehicle width direction). It is known that the position of the thigh of the small seated occupant Ps is positioned so as to overlap the inner side portion of the thigh of the large seated occupant Pl. Therefore, the left and right chambers 22L and 22R are dimensioned to project outward in the seat width direction with respect to the left and right thighs of the small seated occupant Ps.
- the portion shown by hatching in FIG. 6A is a contact portion in a plan view with the small seated occupant Ps.
- the hatched portion shown in FIG. 6B is a contact portion in a plan view with the large seated occupant Pl.
- the cushion airbag 22 has a configuration in which a contact area with the large seated occupant Pl is larger than a contact area with the small seated occupant Ps and can generate a relatively large reaction force against the large seated occupant Pl. It has become.

Thereby, the initial restraint performance at the time of the frontal collision by the cushion airbag 22 further improves.
- the right chamber 22R and the left chamber 22L of the cushion airbag 22 are inflated and deployed below the thighs of the large seated occupant Pl and the small seated occupant Ps. Restraint performance can be obtained. That is, since the position of the thigh of the seated occupant P in the seated state on the seat cushion 14 is substantially common (including portions) from adults to children, the cushion airbag 22 having a substantially U shape in plan view is used. Good initial restraint performance from adults to children. In other words, the capacity of the cushion airbag 22 can be reduced as compared with the comparative example as described above while ensuring the initial restraint performance according to the physique.
- the cushion airbag 22 is formed in a substantially U shape that opens rearward, the cushion airbag 22 has no or small portion that contacts the buttocks of the seated occupant P. For this reason, the cushion airbag 22 has a larger difference (ratio) in the contact area with the seated occupant P due to the difference in the physique of the seated occupant P as compared with a circular or rectangular cushion airbag in plan view. Thereby, for example, with respect to the small seated occupant Ps, the forward movement of the seated occupant P can be suppressed with a small contact area while suppressing the reaction force accompanying the inflation and deployment of the cushion airbag 22.
- the small seated occupant Ps can be appropriately protected (restrained) with a small reaction force because the inertial force acting at the time of a frontal collision is relatively small.
- a sufficient reaction force that can resist a large inertial force is generated with a large contact area, thereby effectively suppressing the forward movement of the large seated occupant Pl. be able to.
- the cushion airbag 22 has the front chamber 22F, gas can be supplied to the left and right chambers 22L and 22R with a simple configuration. That is, the inflator 20 common to the left and right chambers 22L and 22R is provided in the front chamber 22F connecting the left and right chambers 22L and 22R, and gas is supplied to the left and right chambers 22L and 22R in a short time.
