Definitions
- the present invention relates to a contactless charging apparatus and a contactless charging method used for contactless charging.
- a method using electromagnetic induction, electric field coupling, magnetic field resonance, electric field resonance, or the like is known as a non-contact charging technique of strong coupling system using alternating current.
- the impedance of the power supply system that supplies the alternating current power, the power transmission unit and the power receiving device (power transmission / reception system) Matching with the determined impedance is essential. That is, when impedance matching is not performed, reflected power is generated between the power supply unit and the power transmission unit, which affects the power supply system. In addition, the influence of reflected power leads to electromagnetic interference (EMI) to peripheral devices.
- EMI electromagnetic interference
- the efficiency of the non-contact charging device is also reduced. In particular, it has a significant effect when transmitting large amounts of power. For example, charging a battery mounted on an electric vehicle or a hybrid vehicle can be considered.
- Non-contact power transmission device including a variable impedance circuit provided between the two.
- the primary coil, primary side resonance coil, secondary side resonance coil, secondary coil, load, and impedance variable circuit constitute a resonance system.
- the AC power supply outputs an AC voltage at a frequency equal to the resonance frequency of the resonance system.
- the impedance of the impedance variable circuit is adjusted so as to suppress a change in the input impedance of the resonance system.

- the control unit selects the second distance by referring to the distance information using information for identifying the device having the power receiving device.
- the distance information includes identification information for identifying a plurality of devices having the power reception device, a surface having the power transmission resonance coil and a surface having the power reception resonance coil determined by each type of the device associated with each identification information.

- the variable information is information for varying the inductance and capacitance of the matching unit for matching the impedance of the power supply system and the impedance of the power transmission / reception system that varies depending on the relative position of the power transmission resonance coil and the power reception resonance coil. It is.
- the control unit varies the inductance and capacitance of the matching unit according to the variable information.
- the measurement unit of the non-contact charging apparatus connects the position of the center point of the axially symmetric power transmission resonance coil of the power transmission unit and the position of the center point of the axis symmetric power transmission resonance coil of the power reception apparatus. You may measure the angle which a line segment and the line segment used as the said axis

- FIG. 1 It is a figure which shows one Example of the non-contact-type charging device and power receiving device of Embodiment 1. It is a figure which shows one Example of a non-contact type charging device and power receiving apparatus of a strong coupling system. It is a figure which shows one Example of the impedance matching of a matching part. It is a figure which shows one Example of operation
- FIG. 10 is a diagram illustrating an example of the operation of the contactless charging apparatus according to the second embodiment.
- a strong-coupling non-contact charging device and a power receiving device will be described.
- a magnetic resonance non-contact charging device transmits power to a power receiving device in a non-contact manner, depending on the relative positional relationship between a power transmission resonance coil included in the power transmission system used for power transmission and a power reception resonance coil included in the power reception system
- the impedance of the power transmission / reception system including the power transmission system and the power reception system changes. That is, since the impedance of the power transmission / reception system is constant when the relative position is fixed, the matching between the impedance of the power supply system that supplies power to the power transmission system and the impedance of the power transmission / reception system is uniquely determined. be able to.
- the relative position is not necessarily fixed.
- the X axis and the Y axis indicating the plane and the height are shown as the degrees of freedom for determining the relative position between the power transmission resonance coil and the power reception resonance coil.
- the angles ⁇ x, ⁇ y, and ⁇ z indicating rotation around the Z axis and the three axes are provided.
- the power transmission resonance coil and the power reception resonance coil are axisymmetrically shaped.-The power transmission resonance coil and the power reception resonance coil are arranged in parallel.-The distance (height) in the Z-axis direction between the power transmission resonance coil and the power reception resonance coil is fixed.
- the axially symmetric power transmission resonance coil and the power reception resonance coil are arranged in parallel, so that it is not necessary to measure the three parameters of the angles ⁇ x, ⁇ y, and ⁇ z. Furthermore, since the distance (height) in the Z-axis direction can be determined by the shape of the power receiving device having the power receiving resonance coil, the distance in the Z axis direction can be determined depending on the type of the power receiving device. Therefore, it is not necessary to measure the distance in the Z-axis direction. Further, if the center of the power transmission resonance coil is considered as the origin, the X axis and the Y axis are considered to be equivalent, and therefore, it is considered that five of the six parameters of freedom are known. As a result, six parameters of freedom can be acquired by measuring only one axis. That is, the relative position can be represented by a measured distance from the one axis and a predetermined Z-axis direction.
- a square coil when a square coil is used as a power transmission resonance coil or a power reception resonance coil, an axis having the same area as a square area L ⁇ L is assumed when L is one side of the coil. What is necessary is just to approximate the circular coil which is a symmetrical shape. That is, a square coil is treated as a circular coil having a diameter of 2 L / ( ⁇ ⁇ 0.5).
- one side of the regular octagonal coil is L, it may be approximated to a circular coil having an axially symmetric shape having the same area as the regular octagonal area 2 (L ⁇ L) / tan 22.5. That is, a regular octagonal coil is treated as a circular coil having a diameter of 2L ⁇ (2 / ⁇ tan22.5) ⁇ 0.5).
- the power transmission and reception resonance coils include shapes that can be calculated by approximating a circle, although the accuracy of the axisymmetric shape may be reduced even if it is not a perfect circle.
- a circuit constant for matching the impedance of the power supply system and the impedance of the power transmission / reception system is determined using the obtained relative position. For example, in the case of a matching circuit that performs impedance matching with a coil and a capacitor, constants for varying inductance and capacitance are determined according to the obtained relative position.
- FIG. 1 is a diagram illustrating an example of a contactless charging apparatus and a power receiving apparatus according to the first embodiment.

- the power supply unit 3 uses the power supplied from the external power source to generate transmission power having a transmission frequency for transmitting power to the power receiving device 2 and outputs the generated transmission power to the matching unit 4.
- the power transmission frequency is the same as the resonance frequency of the resonance circuit included in the power transmission unit 5 and the resonance circuit included in the power reception unit 10 described later. However, since the resonance frequency and the power transmission frequency are not actually the same, if the resonance frequency and the power transmission frequency are within a preset range, they are regarded as the same.
- the power supply unit 3 includes, for example, an oscillation circuit and a power transmission amplifier.
- the oscillation circuit generates a resonance frequency.
- the power transmission amplifier converts the power supplied from the external power source to the transmission power of the power transmission frequency generated by the oscillation circuit, and transmits it to the matching unit 4.

- the first measurement unit 6 measures the distance D1 or the angle ⁇ 1 between the power transmission unit 5 and the power reception unit 10.
- the distance D ⁇ b> 1 between the power transmission unit 5 and the power reception unit 10 can be measured by measuring the distance between the center of the power transmission resonance coil 22 and the center of the power reception resonance coil 23.

- the second measuring unit 7 measures the distance D2 (or height) between the power transmitting unit 5 and the power receiving unit 10. For example, it is conceivable to measure the distance between the surface (plane) of the power transmission resonance coil 22 and the surface (plane) of the power reception resonance coil 23. In addition, when the contactless charging device and the power receiving device are known in advance, the distance D2 may be stored in the storage unit 9.
- the control unit 8 controls each unit of the non-contact charging device 1.
- the control unit 8 selects the second distance with reference to the distance information using information for identifying the device having the power receiving device 2.
- the distance information includes identification information for identifying a plurality of devices having the power receiving device 2, and a surface having the power transmission resonance coil 23 and a surface having the power reception resonance coil 24 determined by each type of device associated with each identification information.
- the control unit 8 refers to the matching information using the first distance and the second distance, selects variable information, and varies the inductance and capacitance of the matching unit 4 according to the variable information.
- the matching information includes a combination of the first distance and the second distance, and variable information for changing the inductance and the capacitance of the matching unit associated with the combination of the first distance and the second distance. It is stored in the storage unit 9.
- the variable information is information used to match the impedance of the power supply system with the impedance of the power transmission / reception system that changes depending on the relative position of the power transmission resonance coil and the power reception resonance coil.
