A driving method is disclosed.
- the touch panel is disposed in the vicinity of the display device, for example, on the display device.
- the S / N of the touch panel is lowered and the detection accuracy is lowered due to noise generated from the display device during the scanning period of the display device. This problem becomes prominent when the touch panel is of a capacitive type.
- the detection accuracy required for a detection device is not always constant, and varies depending on the type of input operation performed on the detection device or the type of application software to be started. Also, the accuracy of the detection device itself changes due to changes in the external environment such as temperature.
- an object of the present invention is to provide an electronic device and a control method for the electronic device that can increase the detection accuracy of the detection device while reducing power consumption.
- an electronic device is an image in which a pixel is held by alternately repeating a scanning period for supplying image data to a plurality of pixels and a non-scanning period for not supplying the image data.
- a state change detection unit that includes a display device that repeatedly rewrites data, a detection device that detects an input, and that detects a change in detection accuracy required for the detection device with respect to the input; and
- the state change detection unit detects a state change accompanying an increase in detection accuracy required for the detection device for the input, While the number of detection operations during the non-scanning period increases, the state change detection unit detects a state change accompanied by a decrease in detection accuracy required for the detection device for the input. Abstract
