【課題】 二次電池の良否判定の時間を短縮することを目的とする。 【解決手段】 二次電池の検査方法は、第1ステップから第4ステップを有する。第1ステップでは、製造後の二次電池を第1電圧まで充電する。第2ステップでは、二次電池を放置する前において、第1電圧よりも低い第2電圧を目標電圧として、定電流定電圧モードでの放電又は充電を行う。第3ステップでは、二次電池を放置する前後において、二次電池の開放電圧を測定する。第4ステップでは、二次電池を放置する前後における開放電圧の差に基づいて、二次電池の良否判定を行う。

Description

二次電池の検査方法
 本発明は、製造後の二次電池を検査する方法に関する。
 二次電池を製造した後には、二次電池に異物が混入しているか否かを検査している。異物が混入していると、二次電池の内部で短絡が発生してしまうおそれがある。
 検査方法としては、二次電池が満充電になるまで充電した後に、二次電池を放置する。放置の前後における二次電池の電圧を測定し、これらの電圧の差(降下量)に基づいて、二次電池に異物が混入しているか否かを判定することができる。異物によって短絡が発生しているときの電圧降下量は、異物が含まれていない二次電池の電圧降下量よりも大きくなる。

 二次電池を充電した後では、電極の表面において、イオン濃度にバラツキが発生しており、イオン濃度のバラツキが緩和されるまで、電極電位が変化してしまう。すなわち、異物が混入しているか否かにかかわらず、二次電池の特性によって、二次電池の電圧が低下する。異物の判定を行うためには、電極電位の変化が収まるのを待った後に、さらに電圧降下が発生しているか否かを確認する必要がある。このような判定方法では、異物の判定を完了させるまでに、時間がかかってしまうことがある。
 本発明である二次電池の検査方法は、第1ステップから第4ステップを有する。第1ステップでは、製造後の二次電池を第1電圧まで充電する。第2ステップでは、二次電池を放置する前において、第1電圧よりも低い第2電圧を目標電圧として、定電流定電圧モードでの放電又は充電を行う。第3ステップでは、二次電池を放置する前後において、二次電池の開放電圧を測定する。第4ステップでは、二次電池を放置する前後における開放電圧の差に基づいて、二次電池の良否判定を行う。
 二次電池の上限電圧を第1電圧とすることができる。第1ステップでは、定電流モード又は定電流定電圧モードにおいて、充電を行うことができる。定電流定電圧モードでの充電を行えば、電極の一部において、イオン濃度を均一化することができる。
 熱源で発生した熱を用いて、二次電池を温める加熱ステップを行うことができる。二次電池を温めることにより、イオンの拡散を促進させることができ、電極上のイオン濃度の偏りを低減させることができる。加熱ステップは、二次電池を放置する前に行うことができる。
 第2ステップでは、充電後の二次電池に対して、定電流定電圧モードでの放電を行うことができる。また、放電後の二次電池に対して、定電流定電圧モードでの充電を行うことができる。第4ステップにおいて、開放電圧の差が閾値よりも大きいときには、二次電池を不良品と判定することができる。また、開放電圧の差が閾値よりも小さいときには、二次電池を良品と判定することができる。
 本発明によれば、製造後の二次電池を第1電圧まで充電した後に、第1電圧よりも低い第2電圧となるように、定電流定電圧モードでの充電又は放電を行っている。これにより、二次電池の電極上におけるイオン濃度のバラツキを低減することができ、イオンの拡散に伴う開放電圧の変化時間を短縮できる。イオンの拡散に伴う開放電圧の変化時間を短縮できれば、異物による短絡が発生しているときに、短絡による開放電圧の変化を見つけやすくなる。したがって、二次電池の良否判定を効率良く、短時間で行うことができる。

 以下、本発明の実施例について説明する。
 実施例1である二次電池の構造について説明する。図1は、本実施例である二次電池の外観図であり、図2は、二次電池の内部構造を示す図である。図1および図2において、X軸、Y軸およびZ軸は、互いに直交する軸である。X軸、Y軸およびZ軸の関係は、他の図面においても同様である。
 二次電池1としては、例えば、ニッケル水素電池やリチウムイオン電池がある。二次電池1は、車両を走行させるための動力源として用いることができる。
 具体的には、複数の二次電池1を電気的に直列に接続することにより組電池を構成し、組電池を車両に搭載することができる。組電池から出力される電気エネルギを、モータ・ジェネレータによって運動エネルギに変換すれば、運動エネルギを用いて車両を走行させることができる。車両の制動時に発生する運動エネルギを、モータ・ジェネレータによって電気エネルギに変換すれば、電気エネルギを組電池に蓄えることができる。
 二次電池1は、電池ケース10と、電池ケース10に収容される発電要素20とを有する。電池ケース10は、ケース本体11および蓋12を有しており、ケース本体11および蓋12は、金属で形成することができる。ケース本体11は、発電要素20を組み込むための開口部11aを有している。蓋12は、ケース本体11の開口部11aを塞いでおり、電池ケース10の内部は、密閉状態である。蓋12およびケース本体11は、例えば、溶接によって固定することができる。
 正極端子21および負極端子22は、互いに絶縁された状態において、蓋12に固定されている。正極端子21は、蓋12を貫通しており、正極タブ23を介して、発電要素20と電気的に接続されている。正極タブ23は、例えば、溶接によって、正極端子21および発電要素20に接続することができる。負極端子22は、蓋12を貫通しており、負極タブ24を介して、発電要素20と電気的に接続されている。負極タブ24は、例えば、溶接によって、負極端子22および発電要素20に接続することができる。
 蓋12は、弁121を有しており、弁121は、電池ケース10の内部で発生したガスを電池ケース10の外部に排出させるために用いられる。弁121は、いわゆる破壊型の弁である。ガスの発生に伴って電池ケース10の内圧が弁121の作動圧に到達すると、弁121は、閉じ状態から開き状態に不可逆的に変化する。
 本実施例では、破壊型の弁121を用いているが、いわゆる復帰型の弁を用いることもできる。復帰型の弁とは、閉じ状態および開き状態の間で可逆的に変化する弁である。電池ケース10の内圧が弁の作動圧に到達すれば、弁が閉じ状態から開き状態に変化する。一方、電池ケース10の内圧が弁の作動圧よりも低くなれば、弁が開き状態から閉じ状態に変化する。
 蓋12は、キャップ122を有しており、キャップ122は、蓋12に形成された注入部を塞ぐために用いられる。注入部は、電池ケース10の内部に電解液を注入するために用いられる。電池ケース10の内部に電解液を注入した後、注入部は、キャップ122によって塞がれる。
 次に、発電要素20の構成について説明する。図3は、発電要素20の一部分の展開図である。
 発電要素20は、図3に示すように、正極板201と、負極板202と、セパレータ203とを有する。セパレータ203は、電解液を含んでいる。
 正極板201は、集電板201aと、集電板201aの表面に形成された正極活物質層201bとを有する。正極活物質層201bは、正極活物質、導電材、バインダーなどを含んでいる。正極活物質層201bは、集電板201aの一部の領域に形成されており、集電板201aの残りの領域は露出している。
 二次電池1がリチウムイオン二次電池であるときには、正極活物質として、リチウムコバルト系複合酸化物(例えば、LiCoO)、リチウムニッケル系複合酸化物(例えば、LiNiO)、リチウムマンガン系複合酸化物(LiMn)を主成分とする正極活物質を用いることができる。遷移金属元素が2種以上含まれる複合酸化物を用いることができる。複合酸化物としては、例えば、LiNiCoMnO2を用いることができる。導電材としては、カーボンブラックといった炭素粉末又は、ニッケル粉末等の導電性金属粉末を用いることができる。バインダーとしては、例えば、非水系溶媒を使用する場合には、有機溶剤に可溶性を示すポリマーを用いることができる。
 負極板202は、集電板202aと、集電板202aの表面に形成された負極活物質層202bとを有する。負極活物質層202bは、負極活物質やバインダーなどを含んでいる。負極活物質層202bは、集電板202aの一部の領域に形成されており、集電板202aの残りの領域は露出している。
 二次電池1がリチウムイオン二次電池であるときには、負極活物質として、例えば、カーボンを用いることができる。バインダーとしては、例えば、非水系溶媒を使用する場合には、有機溶剤に可溶性を示すポリマーを用いることができる。
 図3に示す順番で、正極板201、負極板202およびセパレータ203を積層し、この積層体を巻くことにより、発電要素20が構成される。積層体は、図2のY方向に延びる軸の周りで巻かれる。図2において、Y方向における発電要素20の一端部では、正極板201の集電板201aだけが巻かれている。この集電板201aには、正極タブ23が接続されている。Y方向における発電要素20の他端部では、負極板202の集電板202aだけが巻かれており、この集電板202aには、負極タブ24が接続されている。
 図2に示す領域Rは、正極板201の正極活物質層201bと、負極板202の負極活物質層202bとが互いに重なっている領域であり、二次電池1の充放電に用いられる領域である。二次電池1としてのリチウムイオン二次電池を充電するとき、正極活物質層201bは、リチウムイオンを電解液中に放出し、負極活物質層202bは、電解液中のリチウムイオンを吸蔵する。また、リチウムイオン二次電池を放電するとき、正極活物質層201bは、電解液中のリチウムイオンを吸蔵し、負極活物質層202bは、リチウムイオンを電解液中に放出する。
 本実施例では、正極板201、負極板202およびセパレータ203の積層体を巻くことによって、発電要素20を構成しているが、これに限るものではない。例えば、発電要素20の構成として、正極板201、負極板202および電解質層を積層しただけの構成を用いることができる。また、本実施例では、電解液を用いているが、固体電解質を用いることもできる。
 本実施例では、電池ケース10が矩形状に形成されているが、これに限るものではない。例えば、円筒状に形成された電池ケースを用いることができる。また、発電要素20をラミネートフィルムで覆うことによって構成された二次電池を用いることもできる。
 次に、二次電池1の検査工程について、図4を用いて説明する。
 ステップS101において、二次電池1を組み立てる。具体的には、正極端子21および負極端子22を、蓋12に固定する。また、発電要素20を製造しておき、正極タブ23を、発電要素20および正極端子21に固定する。同様に、負極タブ24を、発電要素20および負極端子22に固定する。これにより、蓋12に対して、正極端子21,負極端子22および発電要素20を固定することができる。
 次に、ケース本体11に発電要素20を収容するとともに、ケース本体11の開口部11aを、蓋12によって塞ぐ。蓋12およびケース本体11は、例えば、溶接によって固定する。蓋12の注入部から、電池ケース10の内部に電解液を注入する。電解液を注入することにより、発電要素20に電解液をしみ込ませることができる。具体的には、電解液は、セパレータ203に浸入したり、セパレータ203および正極板201の間や、セパレータ203および負極板202の間に浸入したりする。
 電解液を注入した後は、注入部をキャップ122で塞ぐことにより、電池ケース10の内部を密閉状態とすることができる。これにより、二次電池1の組み立てが完了する。発電要素20の電解質として、固体電解質を用いたときには、電解液を注入する処理は省略される。
 ステップS102では、図5に示すように、二次電池1に充電器300を接続し、定電流モード(CCモード)において、二次電池1を充電する。CCモードは、二次電池1の充電又は放電を定電流で行うモードである。CCモードの充電によって、図6に示すように、二次電池1の電圧は上昇する。図6は、二次電池1の検査工程において、二次電池1の電圧変化を示す図である。図6の縦軸は、二次電池1の電圧(CCV;Closed Circuit Voltage)であり、図6の横軸は、時間である。
 二次電池1の電圧が上限電圧Vmaxに到達したときには、CCモードの充電を停止する。図5に示すように、二次電池1に電圧センサ301を接続しておけば、電圧センサ301の出力に基づいて、二次電池1の電圧を監視することができる。上限電圧Vmaxは、二次電池1の使用電圧範囲の上限値である。なお、本実施例では、上限電圧Vmaxまで二次電池1を充電しているが、上限電圧Vmaxよりも低い電圧値まで二次電池1を充電するだけでもよい。
 図7は、CCモードの充電を行った後の負極板202のイオン状態を示す概略図である。図7において、縦軸は、イオン濃度を示しており、横軸は、負極活物質層202bの厚さ方向における位置を示している。横軸の一端は、負極活物質層202bおよびセパレータ203(電解液)の界面(第1界面という)であり、横軸の他端は、負極活物質層202bおよび集電板202aの界面(第2界面という)である。
 二次電池1の充電を行った直後では、イオン(例えば、リチウムイオン二次電池では、リチウムイオン)が負極活物質層202bの内部で十分に拡散しておらず、偏りが発生している。したがって、第1界面では、イオン濃度が最も高くなり、第2界面に向かうにつれてイオン濃度が低下している。第1界面でのイオン濃度は、上限電圧Vmaxに対応している。
 ステップS103では、定電流モード(CCモード)において、二次電池1を放電する。具体的には、図5において、二次電池1を放電器302に接続し、CCモードの放電を行う。二次電池1を放電することにより、図6に示すように、二次電池1の電圧が低下する。CCモードの放電は、所定時間だけ行われる。所定時間は、予め決めておくことができる。
 CCモードの放電を行ったとき、図8に示すように、第1界面におけるイオン濃度が低下し始める。二次電池1を放電したときには、第2界面よりも第1界面に近い領域において、イオン濃度が低下しやすくなる。したがって、負極活物質層202bの内部におけるイオン濃度分布では、第1界面および第2界面の間において、最もイオン濃度が高くなる部分が発生する。
 ステップS104では、定電流定電圧モード(CCCVモード)において、二次電池1を充電する。CCCVモードの充電では、まず定電流で充電が行われ、二次電池1の電圧が目標電圧Vtに到達したときには、定電圧での充電が行われる。CCCVモードの充電を行うことにより、二次電池1の電圧を目標電圧Vtに到達させ、目標電圧Vtに維持することができる。目標電圧Vtは、上限電圧Vmaxよりも低い値である。目標電圧Vtを決めておけば、ステップS103におけるCCモードの放電時間を決めることができる。
 目標電圧Vtを決定する方法(一例)について説明する。
 二次電池1を、キャパシタおよび抵抗を用いた等価回路(CR等価回路)で表すと、静電容量Cのキャパシタと、キャパシタに対して並列に接続された絶縁抵抗および短絡抵抗とで表すことができる。絶縁抵抗とは、イオンの拡散に伴う電圧降下を、抵抗として表したものである。短絡抵抗とは、異物による短絡によって決定される値である。静電容量Cは、二次電池1に流れる電流を、電圧変化(dV/dt)で割った値である。
 CR等価回路において、定抵抗で放電を行ったときの電圧変化は、静電容量Cが大きくなるほど、緩やかになる。言い換えれば、静電容量Cが大きくなるほど、短絡抵抗による電圧変化量が小さくなってしまう。したがって、静電容量Cが小さくなる条件において、目標電圧Vtを決定すれば、短絡抵抗による電圧変化量を検出しやすくなり、異物が混入しているか否かの判定が容易になる。
 CCCVモードの充電を行ったとき、図9に示すように、第1界面におけるイオン濃度が上昇する。第1界面でのイオン濃度は、目標電圧Vtに対応している。定電圧での充電を行っているため、第1界面を含む一部の領域では、イオン濃度が均一化されている。
 ステップS105では、CCCVモードの充電が完了した直後において、二次電池1のOCV(Open Circuit Voltage)を測定する。
 ステップS106では、二次電池1を大気中で放置し、所定時間t1が経過したか否かを判別する。ステップS106では、二次電池1に積極的に熱を与えない環境において、二次電池1を放置する。所定時間t1とは、異物によって二次電池1が短絡しているときに、短絡に伴う電圧降下を特定するための時間であり、予め定めておくことができる。
 所定時間t1が経過すれば、ステップS107において、二次電池1のOCVを測定する。ステップS108では、ステップS105で測定したOCVと、ステップS107で測定したOCVとの差ΔVocvを算出する。そして、電圧差ΔVocvが閾値よりも小さいか否かを判別する。閾値は、異物による短絡を判定するため値であり、予め決めておくことができる。
 電圧差ΔVocvが閾値よりも小さいときには、ステップS109において、異物による短絡(電圧降下)が発生していないと判断し、二次電池1に異物が混入されていないと判断することができる。この場合には、二次電池1を良品と判断する。
 一方、電圧差ΔVocvが閾値よりも大きいときには、ステップS110において、異物による短絡(電圧降下)が発生していると判断され、二次電池1に異物が混入されていると判断することができる。この場合には、二次電池1を不良品と判断する。
 ステップS109,110の処理は、自動的に行うことができる。具体的には、ステップS105,S107で得られるOCVのデータを、制御装置に出力し、制御装置は、2つのOCVの差を算出するとともに、電圧差ΔVocvを閾値と比較することができる。これにより、制御装置は、良品および不良品を分けることができる。良品および不良品の情報を、音声で出力したり、ディスプレイに表示したりすれば、作業者は、二次電池1が良品および不良品のいずれであるかを確認することができる。
 本実施例によれば、CCモードの充電、CCモードの放電およびCCCVモードの充電を行うことにより、負極活物質層202bの内部におけるイオン濃度を均一化させることができる。CCCVモードの充電を行った後において、負極活物質層202bのイオン濃度分布は、図10に示す状態となる。図10に示す状態では、領域A1,A2のイオンが拡散するだけで、イオン濃度を均一にすることができる。
 図10に示す状態では、図7に示す状態と比べて、イオン濃度のバラツキが低減されている。したがって、図10に示す状態では、図7に示す状態と比べて、拡散するイオンの量を低減でき、イオン濃度を均一化させるまでの時間を短縮することができる。イオン濃度を均一化させるまでの時間を短縮すれば、イオンの拡散に伴う電圧降下の時間を短縮することができる。イオン濃度を早期に均一化させておけば、異物の混入によって二次電池1が短絡しているときに、短絡に伴う電圧降下を検出しやすくなる。すなわち、異物が混入されているか否かの判定を完了させるまでの時間を短縮することができる。
 本実施例の変形例について説明する。図11は、本変形例における二次電池1の検査工程を示すフローチャートである。本実施例で説明した処理と同一の処理については、同一符号を付し、詳細な説明は省略する。
 本変形例では、ステップS102において、CCモードの充電を行った後に、ステップS111において、二次電池1を高温環境下で放置している。図12は、本変形例の検査工程において、二次電池1の電圧変化を示す図であり、図6に対応した図である。
 ステップS111では、熱源を用いて、二次電池1を温める。熱源は、熱を発生させるものであればよく、適宜選択することができる。二次電池1を温めると、負極活物質層202bにおいて、イオンの拡散速度を高めることができる。
 図13は、負極活物質層202bの内部におけるイオン濃度分布を示している。図13において、点線は、ステップS102の処理(CCモードの充電)を行った後のイオン濃度分布を示す。実線は、二次電池1を温めた後のイオン濃度分布を示す。図13に示すように、二次電池1を温めてイオンの拡散速度を高めることにより、イオン濃度分布の勾配を下げることができる。すなわち、イオン濃度のバラツキを低減することができる。
 二次電池1を温める温度は、イオンの拡散速度を考慮して決定することができる。また、二次電池1に熱を与えすぎると、二次電池1が劣化してしまうおそれがあるため、この点を考慮して、二次電池1を温める温度を決定することができる。
 二次電池1を温める時間は、適宜設定することができる。ここで、二次電池1を温める時間が長くなるほど、二次電池1の検査工程が完了するまでの時間が長くなってしまう。また、イオン濃度のバラツキが低減された状態では、二次電池1を温める必要はない。この点を考慮して、二次電池1を温める時間を決定することができる。
 本変形例では、ステップS102の後に二次電池1を温めているが、これに限るものではない。二次電池1を温めれば、イオンの拡散速度を高めて、イオン濃度のバラツキを低減できるため、二次電池1を温めるタイミングは、適宜設定することができる。例えば、ステップS103の処理(CCモードの放電)を行った後や、ステップS104の処理(CCCVモードの充電)を行った後において、二次電池1を温めることができる。
 また、ステップS102,S103,S104の処理のうち、少なくとも2つの処理を行った後に、二次電池1を温めることができる。この場合には、二次電池1を温める処理が、複数回行われることになる。本実施例では、ステップS103において、CCモードの放電を行っているが、CCモードの放電に代えて、CCCVモードの放電を行うことができる。
 本実施例では、ステップS102,S103の処理を繰り返して行うこともできる。すなわち、ステップS103の処理を行った後は、ステップS102,S103の順で処理を行うことができる。ステップS102,103の処理を繰り返した後は、ステップS104の処理を行うことができる。充放電を繰り返すことにより、第1界面側におけるイオン濃度のバラツキを抑制することができる。なお、ステップS102,103の処理を繰り返す回数は、適宜設定することができる。
 本発明の実施例2である二次電池1の検査工程について説明する。実施例1で説明した処理や部材については、同一符号を用い、詳細な説明は省略する。
 図14は、本実施例の検査工程を示すフローチャートである。実施例1では、二次電池1を組み立てた後に、CCモードの充電を行っているが、本実施例では、二次電池1を組み立てた後に、ステップS112において、CCCVモードの充電を行っている。図15は、本実施例の検査を行ったときの二次電池1の電圧変化を示す図である。
 CCCVモードの充電を行うと、図15に示すように、二次電池1の電圧が上昇し、上限電圧Vmaxに到達する。二次電池1の電圧が上限電圧Vmaxに到達した後は、二次電池1の電圧は、上限電圧Vmaxに維持される。
 一方、CCCVモードの充電を行うと、負極活物質層202bのイオン濃度分布は、図16に示す状態となる。図16において、第1界面を含む一部の領域では、イオン濃度が均一になっている。第1界面のイオン濃度は、上限電圧Vmaxに対応している。また、イオン濃度は、第2界面に向かうにつれて低下する。
 ステップS103において、CCモードの放電を行うと、図17に示すように、第1界面からイオン濃度が低下し始める。これにより、負極活物質層202bの内部におけるイオン濃度分布では、第1界面および第2界面の間において、最もイオン濃度が高くなる部分が発生する。
 ステップS104において、CCCVモードの充電を行うと、図18に示すように、第1界面からイオン濃度が上昇し始める。第1界面でのイオン濃度は、目標電圧Vtに対応している。定電圧での充電を行っているため、第1界面を含む一部の領域では、イオン濃度が均一化されている。
 本実施例において、ステップS112~ステップS104の処理を行うことにより、負極活物質層202bにおけるイオン濃度分布を図19に示す状態とすることができる。すなわち、図16に示すイオン濃度分布と比べて、イオン濃度のバラツキを低減することができる。イオン濃度のバラツキを低減しておけば、短時間でのイオンの拡散によって、イオン濃度を均一化させることができる。ここで、異物によって二次電池1が短絡しているときには、短絡に伴う電圧降下を検出しやすくなる。すなわち、二次電池1の検査を完了させるまでの時間を短縮することができる。
 本実施例の変形例として、実施例1と同様に、熱源を用いて二次電池1を温める処理を追加することができる。二次電池1を温める処理は、ステップS112,S103,S104の処理のうち、少なくとも1つの処理を行った後に行うことができる。二次電池1を温めることにより、イオンの拡散速度を高めることができ、負極活物質202bにおいて、イオン濃度を均一化させやすくなる。
 本実施例では、ステップS103において、CCモードの放電を行っているが、CCモードの放電に代えて、CCCVモードの放電を行うことができる。
 また、本実施例では、ステップS112,S103の処理を繰り返して行うこともできる。すなわち、ステップS103の処理を行った後は、ステップS112,S103の順で処理を行うことができる。ステップS112,103の処理を繰り返した後は、ステップS104の処理を行うことができる。充放電を繰り返すことにより、第1界面側におけるイオン濃度のバラツキを抑制することができる。なお、ステップS112,103の処理を繰り返す回数は、適宜設定することができる。
 本発明の実施例3である二次電池1の検査工程について説明する。実施例1で説明した処理や部材については、同一符号を用い、詳細な説明は省略する。
 本実施例では、ステップS102の処理(CCモードの充電)を行った後に、ステップS113において、CCCVモードの放電を行う。図21は、本実施例の検査を行ったときの二次電池1の電圧変化を示す。CCCVモードの放電を行うことにより、二次電池1の電圧は、上限電圧Vmaxから低下し、目標電圧Vtに到達する。二次電池1の電圧が目標電圧Vtに到達すると、定電圧での放電が行われ、二次電池1の電圧は目標電圧Vtに維持される。
 ステップS113の処理を行うと、図22に示すように、第1界面におけるイオン濃度が低下する。定電圧での放電を行っているため、第1界面を含む一部の領域では、イオン濃度が均一化されている。ステップS113の処理が完了すると、ステップS105において、二次電池1のOCVを測定する。
 本実施例では、二次電池1を放置する前において、負極活物質層202bのイオン濃度分布を図23に示す状態とすることができる。すなわち、イオン濃度のバラツキを低減した状態とすることができる。これにより、イオンを容易に拡散させることができ、イオンの拡散に伴う電圧変化の時間を短縮することができる。イオン濃度を早期に均一化させておけば、異物によって二次電池1が短絡しているときに、短絡による電圧変化を検出しやすくなる。
 本実施例の変形例として、実施例1と同様に、熱源を用いて二次電池1を温める処理を追加することができる。二次電池1を温める処理は、ステップS102,S113の処理のうち、少なくとも1つの処理を行った後に行うことができる。二次電池1を温めることにより、イオンの拡散速度を高めることができ、負極活物質202bにおいて、イオン濃度を均一化させやすくなる。
 本実施例では、ステップS102において、CCモードの充電を行っているが、CCモードの充電に代えて、CCCVモードの充電を行うことができる。CCCVモードの充電を行うときには、定電流での充電によって、二次電池1の電圧を上限電圧Vmaxに到達させた後、定電圧での充電によって、二次電池1の電圧を上限電圧Vmaxに維持する。一方、CCCVモードの充電を行うときにも、二次電池1を温める処理を追加することができる。
 本実施例では、ステップS102,S113の処理を繰り返して行うことができる。すなわち、ステップS113の処理を行った後は、ステップS102,S113の順で処理を行うことができる。ステップS102,113の処理を繰り返した後は、ステップS105の処理を行うことができる。充放電を繰り返すことにより、第1界面側におけるイオン濃度のバラツキを抑制することができる。なお、ステップS102,113の処理を繰り返す回数は、適宜設定することができる。

Claims (10)

  1.  製造後の二次電池を第1電圧まで充電する第1ステップと、
     前記二次電池を放置する前において、前記第1電圧よりも低い第2電圧を目標電圧として、定電流定電圧モードでの放電又は充電を行う第2ステップと、
     前記二次電池を放置する前後において、前記二次電池の開放電圧を測定する第3ステップと、
     前記二次電池を放置する前後における前記開放電圧の差に基づいて、前記二次電池の良否判定を行う第4ステップと、
    を有することを特徴とする二次電池の検査方法。
  2.  前記第1電圧は、前記二次電池の上限電圧であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の二次電池の検査方法。
  3.  前記第1ステップにおいて、定電流モードで充電を行うことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の二次電池の検査方法。
  4.  前記第1ステップにおいて、定電流定電圧モードで充電を行うことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の二次電池の検査方法。
  5.  熱源で発生した熱を前記二次電池に供給する加熱ステップを有することを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1つに記載の二次電池の検査方法。
  6.  前記加熱ステップは、前記第1ステップの後に行われることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の二次電池の検査方法。
  7.  前記加熱ステップは、前記二次電池を放置する前に行われることを特徴とする請求項5又は6に記載の二次電池の検査方法。
  8.  前記第2ステップにおいて、充電後の前記二次電池に対しては、定電流定電圧モードでの放電を行うことを特徴とする請求項1から7のいずれか1つに記載の二次電池の検査方法。
  9.  前記第2ステップにおいて、放電後の前記二次電池に対しては、定電流定電圧モードでの充電を行うことを特徴とする請求項1から7のいずれか1つに記載の二次電池の検査方法。
  10.  前記第4ステップにおいて、前記開放電圧の差が閾値よりも大きいときには、前記二次電池を不良品と判定し、前記開放電圧の差が前記閾値よりも小さいときには、前記二次電池を良品と判定することを特徴とする請求項1から9のいずれか1つに記載の二次電池の検査方法。
