従来、作業環境を改善する目的で、本体ケース内で回転可能な機械主軸(スピンドル)の先端にチャックを介してドリルを取り付け、そのドリルの周囲を取り囲む筒状のフード部材に圧縮空気を噴出させる給気管を接続するとともに、前記フード部材内を吸引する吸引管(集塵管)を本体ケースに接続した装置が提案されている(特許文献1)。この従来装置は、給気管からドリルの先端刃部に向けて圧縮空気を噴出し、その圧縮空気によって、ドリルを冷却しかつドリルから切り屑を離脱させると共に舞い上がらせ、また、噴出された圧縮空気の一部が穿孔により発生する切り屑等をフード部材に沿って上昇させ、それらを吸引管により吸引して外部に排出し集塵させるようにしている。
また、上記圧縮空気を送気させる給気経路の変形として、給気管から本体ケース又はドリルのフード部材内に送気した圧縮空気を、ドリル側面の通路口からドリル軸心に形成した通気孔を通してドリル先端部へ噴出させることも提案されている(特許文献2)。
しかるに、従来装置を使用した穿孔加工時には、加工するワークに近い装置前部つまりドリル周りに給気ホース、吸引ホースが配置され、しかも、それらがコンプレッサや真空ポンプなどへ取り回される全体システムであるため、穿孔機や穿孔装置としてのバランスが悪いばかりでなく給気ホース、吸引ホースが邪魔になるなど使用上・作業上の不具合がみられた。また、回転モータなどの駆動源により機械主軸が回転する構造であることから、本体ケース内に上記給気経路および吸引経路を共に内蔵させることは構造上必ずしも容易ではなかった。
また、好ましい実施形態として駆動源は前記中空モータと送りモータの組み合せがよく、それによりワークの厚さや材質等に対応させたドリルの自動送りが可能である(請求項3)。その中空モータと送りモータとの組み合せにおいては、両モータを同軸上に配設してコンパクトな構造とすることも任意であるが、製作性を考慮すれば、送りモータが前記中空モータに近接する下位に配設され、この送りモータの駆動により送り機構を介して中空モータを進退動させて2重筒主軸およびドリルをピッチ送りするようにする(請求項4)。
図1において、ハウジング1は、略矩形状の筐体であって、その内底面に前後方向(図における左右方向をいう)へ延びるレール2を左右方向(図における奥行方向をいう)に間隔をおいて敷設し、そのレール2上に中空モータ10の摺動ブロック3を摺動可能に搭載する。また、ハウジング1内には、図示省略するが、レール2の上方に複数本の案内部材を設け、その案内部材に中空モータ10の上部を摺動可能に支持している。
それにより、中空モータ10は、ハウジング1内の略中央域に前後動可能に配設されている。
送りモータ20は、ハウジング1の後部底面に設置し、前記中空モータ10を前後方向へ進退動させるように該モータ10と係合している。
中空モータ10は、モータケース11内の中空軸部分に機械主軸(スピンドル)を一体的に備えるが、該主軸として内通路12aと外通路12bとを形成した2重筒主軸12とし、該主軸12の外周面をロータ13に一体的に結合して回転可能に組み込まれる。
送りモータ20は、その回転駆動軸21に連結された送りネジ22を前記中空モータ10の底面下に延設し、中空モータ10の底部に設けた図示省略の送りナットに前記送りネジ22を螺合させ、この送りモータ20の回転により中空モータ10を前後方向へ進退動させるものである。
なお、中空モータ10及び送りモータ20は、前記主軸12が2重筒構造である以外は従来知られたモータ構造であるので詳細は省略している。
この2重筒主軸12は、先端にコレットチャック16を設け該チャック16によりドリル30を着脱交換できるように取り付け、後端には給気機構40に接続する給気ホース41及び集塵機構50に接続する集塵ホース51を接続する。
本体軸31aは、先端のヘッド部分にドリル刃32を備えるが、前記内通路12a介して給気される圧縮空気が通気孔33を通してドリル刃32の近傍から噴出するようにする。
通気孔33は、本体軸31a内の孔径をシャンク31b部分に比べ小径にして圧縮空気の噴出速度が高くなるようにする。
なお、ドリル30は、中空モータ10及び送りモータ20の駆動により回転前進する穿孔時に穴あけ加工を施す構造であれば他に制約されるものではないが、切削性を高めるため刃部形状に改善を加えること、例えば、ワークとしてCFRPなど繊維強化複合材料を対象とする場合には、本願出願人が先に提案(特開2009-806号)しているような、先端ヘッド部分における捩れリード溝の先端リード角を特定値(-10°~+10°)に設定し、かつ外周掬い角を特定値(20°~40°)に設定する等とすることもよい。
したがって、前記コレットチャック16には、図6に示すように、前記2重筒主軸12の外通路12bと先端通路18とを連通させる通孔16aを開口しておく。
なお、第1フード17及び第2フード4は、モータケース11、ハウジング1と一体に形成することもよいが、好ましくは別部材として着脱可能に取り付ける。
二股連結具34は、前記2重筒主軸12の外筒15の後端外周に嵌め合う連結部35を有し、その後端中央に大径の接続管36aを設けるとともに接続管36aの周りにそれより小径の接続管36bを一体または別体に形成したものである。
この二股連結具34は、連結部35に突設したアーム35aを中空モータ10のケース11より突設した回り止め19に掛止させ、それによって回転が阻止されるようにする。
さらに、連結部35内は、後部外面と前記内室部37aとの間を複数のリブ38により補強するとともにそれらリブ38間に連通口39を開口させ、この連通口39を介して外室部37bと前記接続管36aを連通させている。すなわち、集塵ホース51に接続する接続管36aは、内通路12aの後方に位置して外通路12bに連通している。
一方、接続管36bは、その内端が連結部35の内室部37aに連結されており、外端に給気ホース41を接続している。すなわち、給気ホース41から送気される圧縮空気は、接続管36bから内室部37a内を介して内通路12aへ流入する。
また、ドリル装置Aは手持式の場合を例示していることから、図1及び図3に示すように、ハウジング1の上面には持ち運びする際の手提げ用ハンドル5を付設し、底面には、穿孔加工時に支え手となる把手杆6及び中空モータ10、送りモータ20の起動・停止を制御する操作杆7を設けておき、その操作杆7によりコントローラ53を操作するようにする。すなわち、ドリル装置Aは手持式であるが、穿孔本体部である中空モータ10等に給気機構40、集塵機構50及びコントローラ53など付属機器を接続してシステム化された装置を例示している。
治具60は、必ずしも限定される構造ではないが、空洞部61を有する支持筒構造を例示し、その先端面に前記ドリル30と軸心を一致させて該ドリル30を差込み可能な挿入口62を開口しているとともに挿入口62の外周に複数の通路孔63を開孔している(図4及び図7参照)。
また、治具60の先端外周には前記ハウジング1の前部に突設した第2フード4の先端部を嵌め合い、かつ若干の回動により係止させるロック縁64を設けている。
先ず、送りモータ20の起動により、中空モータ10と共にドリル30が前進して治具60の挿入口62から空洞部61内に進入する。
次いで適時のタイミングで、中空モータ10が起動し2重筒主軸12を介してドリル30が設定された回転数をもって回転するとともに、給気機構40の給気ホース41から2重筒主軸12の内通路12aへ供給される圧縮空気がドリル30の通気孔33を通って本体軸31aのドリル刃32近傍から噴出する。
また、中空主軸が2重筒構造であることから2重筒主軸12の外径が若干大きくなるものの、給気機構40からドリル30のドリル刃32まわりへ圧縮空気を送気する給気経路およびドリル刃32から集塵機構50へ切り屑等を吸引回収する集塵経路が中空モータ10やハウジング1周辺に露出しないので、ドリル装置Aが簡素化されて取り扱い易く、また穿孔加工の作業性を向上させることができる。
また、操作杆7には一つの起動スイッチ7aのみを設けた場合を図示しているが、中空モータ10と送りモータ20の起動スイッチを個別に設け、作業者の判断で穿孔作業の進行状況に合わせ両モータ10,20を適時に起動させるようにすることもよい。

Claims (4)
- 駆動源により回転する主軸を内通路と外通路からなる2重筒構造とし、その2重筒主軸の先端に、シャンクから刃部の近傍に至る軸心上に通気孔を開孔してなるドリルを取り付けるとともにドリルの外周を覆うフード部材を設け、前記2重筒主軸の後端に内通路へ圧縮空気を送り込む給気機構および外通路を吸気する集塵機構を連結し、前記内通路を介してドリル刃部まわりへ圧縮空気を給気しながらワークを穿孔することにより、発生する切り屑が外通路を通して集塵機構へ吸引回収されるようにした穿孔装置。
- 上記駆動源がハウジング内に配設された中空モータであって、そのロータ内に前記2重筒主軸が回転可能に連結されることを特徴とする請求項1記載の穿孔装置。
- 上記駆動源がハウジング内に配設された中空モータと送りモータとの組み合せであり、その中空モータのロータ内に前記2重筒主軸が回転可能に連結され、送りモータにより2重筒主軸を進退動させてドリルをピッチ送りするようにしたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の穿孔装置。
- 上記送りモータが前記中空モータに近接する下位に配設され、この送りモータの駆動により送り機構を介して中空モータを進退動させて2重筒主軸およびドリルをピッチ送りするようにしたことを特徴とする請求項3記載の穿孔装置。
