Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Warmwalzen einer Bramme (1), insbesondere einer Stahlbramme, wobei die Bramme (1) mindestens zweier Umformungen bei verschiedenen Temperaturen in einem Warmwalzwerk (2) unterzogen wird, wobei die Bramme (1) zwischen zwei derartigen Umformungen gekühlt wird. Um die frühzeitige Ausbildung von Ferrit beim Warmwalzen zu verhindern, sieht die Erfindung vor, dass die Kühlung der Bramme (1) so erfolgt, dass die seitlichen Endbereiche (3, 4) der Bramme (1) mit einer geringeren Kühlleistung beaufschlagt werden als ein mittiger Bereich (5) der Bramme (1). Des weiteren betrifft die Erfindung ein Warmwalzwerk (2) zum Warmwalzen einer Bramme.
