Definitions
- the present invention relates to a support pin, a lighting device, a display device, and a television receiver.
- a backlight unit for supplying light is usually mounted on the liquid crystal display panel.
- a backlight unit various optical members are used to control the traveling direction of light from a built-in light source (for example, a linear light source such as a fluorescent tube or a point light source such as a light emitting element). Installed.
- the backlight unit 149 of Patent Document 1 As shown in FIG. 11A, two optical members 146 and 147 are arranged on the edge of the backlight chassis 141, and these optical members 146 and 147 are connected to the fluorescent tube 124.
- the light emission direction is controlled. That is, by the presence of the optical members 146 and 147, the light from the backlight unit 149 is controlled so as not to include light amount unevenness.
- the backlight unit 149 is provided with support pins 111 for supporting the optical members 146 and 147.
- this support pin 111 is formed of a transparent resin, as shown in FIG. 11B, a part of the light that travels through the optical members 146 and 147 easily enters from the tip of the support pin 111 (dotted line arrow reference).
- the light in the optical members 146 and 147 travels into the support pins 111, a part of the optical members 146 and 147 in the vicinity of the support pins 111 becomes darker than the surroundings.
- the light from the light unit 149 includes light amount unevenness.
- the present invention has been made to solve the above problems.
- the object is to provide a support pin suitable for a lighting device or the like that emits light in which light amount unevenness is suppressed in light from the lighting device such as a backlight unit, and further provides an electronic device such as the lighting device itself. There is.
- the support pin supports an optical member that transmits light from the light source. Then, in such a support pin, when the portion in contact with the optical member is the top portion and the portion supporting the top portion is the column portion, the top portion is formed of a light reflective material, and the column portion is formed of a light transmissive material. Is done.
- the pillar portion of the support pin is formed of a light transmissive material, unlike the top portion. Therefore, even if the light from the light source is irradiated on the column part, a shadow is hardly generated. Therefore, when such a support pin is mounted on an illuminating device that uses light from a light source, the light from the illuminating device is less likely to include unevenness in the amount of light (that is, the support pin is a member useful for the illuminating device). It can be said).
- the top portion has a tapered shape (for example, a cone shape). If it becomes like this, the contact area of the support pin with respect to an optical member will become a comparatively narrow area. For this reason, the area in which the support pin is reflected on the optical member is also narrow, and the light emitted through the optical member is less likely to include light amount unevenness due to the reflection of the support pin.
- a tapered shape for example, a cone shape
- the top portion may be a coating agent.
- the column part has a columnar shape (for example, a polygonal columnar shape) including a plane along the pin axis direction of the support pin.
- a columnar shape for example, a polygonal columnar shape
- the position of the plane can be adjusted by the arrangement of the support pins, and the reflected light of the plane can be guided in a desired direction. Therefore, the reflected light of the support pin is adjusted so that the support pin is not conspicuous from the outside.
- the support pin may be connected to a functional member for other purposes than supporting the optical member.
- the functional member may hold a light source.
- the functional member may connect a plurality of separate members.
- the support pin is connected to a functional member for other purposes than supporting the optical member, and the functional member has an example in which a linear light source as a light source is gripped.
- the functional member may be an illuminating device that has a purpose of connecting a mounting substrate to which a light source is attached and a chassis.
- the side surface along the pin axis direction of the support pin is the light source that sandwiches the support pin. It is desirable to be orthogonal to the direction of the alignment.
- a display device including the illumination device as described above and a display panel (for example, a liquid crystal display panel) that receives light from the illumination device can be said to be the present invention, and further, a television receiver equipped with the display device. Can also be said to be the present invention.
- the support pin of the present invention while supporting the optical member that receives the light from the light source, even if the light from the light source is received, the light that passes through the optical member does not enter the interior and no shadow is generated. Therefore, when such a support pin is mounted on the lighting device, the light from the lighting device is caused by unevenness in the amount of light caused by the light entering the support pin and the shadow generated due to the support pin. Unevenness in the amount of light caused by it becomes difficult to be included.

- a liquid crystal display device 69 includes a liquid crystal display panel 59, a backlight unit (illumination device) 49 that supplies light to the liquid crystal display panel 59, and a housing HG (front housing HG1) that sandwiches them. -Back housing HG2).
- an active matrix substrate 51 including a switching element such as a TFT (Thin Film Transistor) and a counter substrate 52 facing the active matrix substrate 51 are bonded together with a sealant (not shown). Then, liquid crystal (not shown) is injected into the gap between the substrates 51 and 52.
- a switching element such as a TFT (Thin Film Transistor)
- a counter substrate 52 facing the active matrix substrate 51 are bonded together with a sealant (not shown). Then, liquid crystal (not shown) is injected into the gap between the substrates 51 and 52.

- the liquid crystal display panel 59 as described above displays an image using the change in transmittance caused by the inclination of the liquid crystal molecules.
- the backlight unit 49 includes an LED module (light emitting module) MJ, a backlight chassis 41, support pins 11, a large reflective sheet 42, a diffuser plate 43, a prism sheet 44, and a microlens sheet 45.
- LED module light emitting module
- a backlight chassis 41 support pins 11, a large reflective sheet 42, a diffuser plate 43, a prism sheet 44, and a microlens sheet 45.
- the LED module MJ includes a mounting substrate 21, an LED (Light Emitting Diode) 24, and a lens 26.
- the mounting substrate 21 is a plate-shaped and rectangular substrate, and a plurality of electrodes (not shown) are arranged on the mounting surface 21U. And LED24 which is a light emitting element is attached on these electrodes.
- a resist film (not shown) serving as a protective film is formed on the mounting surface 21U of the mounting substrate 21.
- the resist film is not particularly limited, but is desirably white having reflectivity. This is because even if light is incident on the resist film, the light is reflected by the resist film and tends to go outside, thereby eliminating the cause of unevenness in the amount of light due to light absorption by the mounting substrate 21.
- the LED 24 is a light source, and emits light by current through the electrodes of the mounting substrate 21. And there are many kinds of LED24, and the following LED24 is mentioned.
- the LED 24 includes an LED chip that emits blue light (a light emitting chip) and a phosphor that receives light from the LED chip and emits yellow light. Not particularly limited).
- Such an LED 24 generates white light by the light from the LED chip emitting blue light and the light emitting fluorescent light.
- the phosphor incorporated in the LED 24 is not limited to a phosphor that emits yellow light.
- the LED 24 includes a blue light emitting LED chip and a fluorescent material that receives light from the LED chip and emits green light and red light, and emits blue light and fluorescent light emitted from the LED chip ( White light may be generated with green light and red light.
- the LED chip built in the LED 24 is not limited to a blue light emitting one.
- the LED 24 may include a red LED chip that emits red light, a blue LED chip that emits blue light, and a phosphor that emits green light by receiving light from the blue LED chip. This is because such an LED 24 can generate white light from red light from the red LED chip, blue light from the blue LED chip, and green light that emits fluorescence.
- the LED 24 may not include any phosphor.
- the LED 24 may include a red LED chip that emits red light, a green LED chip that emits green light, and a blue LED chip that emits blue light, and generates white light using light from all the LED chips.
- a relatively long mounting board 21 mounted in a row is mounted.
- the two types of mounting boards 21 are arranged such that a row of five LEDs 24 and a row of eight LEDs 24 are arranged to form a row of 13 LEDs 24, and further, in the direction in which the 13 LEDs 24 are arranged.
- the two types of mounting boards 21 are also arranged in the crossing (orthogonal) direction.
- the LEDs 24 are arranged in a matrix and emits planar light (for convenience, the direction in which different types of mounting boards 21 are arranged is defined as the X direction, and the direction in which the same type of mounting boards 21 are arranged is defined as the Y direction.
- the direction intersecting with the Z direction is defined as Z).
- the 13 LEDs 24 arranged in the X direction are electrically connected in series. Further, the 13 LEDs 24 connected in series are connected to another 13 LEDs 24 connected in series along the Y direction. Electrically connected in parallel. The LEDs 24 arranged in a matrix are driven in parallel.
- the lens 26 receives light from the LED 24 and transmits (emits) the light. More specifically, the lens 26 has a housing recess DH (see FIG. 1 described later) that can accommodate the LED 24 on the back surface (light receiving surface) side of the lens surface 26S, and aligns the position of the housing recess DH and the LED 24, The LED 24 is covered. Then, the LED 24 is embedded in the lens 26, and the light from the LED 24 is reliably supplied into the lens 26. And most of the supplied light is emitted to the outside through the lens surface 26S.
- a housing recess DH see FIG. 1 described later
- the backlight chassis 41 is, for example, a box-shaped member, and houses the plurality of LED modules MJ by spreading the LED modules MJ on the bottom surface 41B.
- the bottom surface 41B of the backlight chassis 41 and the mounting substrate 21 of the LED module MJ are connected through, for example, rivets (see FIG. 7 described later).
- the support pin 11 is attached to the bottom surface 41B of the backlight chassis 41, and rises from the bottom surface 41B to support the diffusion plate 43, the prism sheet 44, and the microlens sheet 45 (note that the backlight chassis 41 is supported by the support pin 11).
- the diffusion plate 43, the prism sheet 44, and the microlens sheet 45 may be stacked and supported in this order at the side of the side wall). The details of the support pin 11 will be described later.
- the large reflective sheet 42 is an optical member having a reflective surface 42U, and covers the plurality of LED modules MJ arranged in a matrix with the back surface of the reflective surface 42U facing.
- the large-format reflection sheet 42 includes a passage opening 42H that matches the position of the lens 26 of the LED module MJ, and exposes the lens 26 from the reflection surface 42U (note that the opening for exposing the support pin 11 described above is provided). 42H is also available).
- the light is reflected by the reflective surface 42U of the large reflective sheet 42 and travels away from the bottom surface 41B. To do. Accordingly, the presence of the large reflective sheet 42 causes the light from the LED 24 to travel toward the diffusion plate 43 facing the reflective surface 42U without loss.
- the diffusing plate 43 is a plate-like optical member that overlaps the large reflective sheet 42, and diffuses the light emitted from the LED module MJ and the reflected light from the large reflective sheet 42U. That is, the diffusing plate 43 diffuses the planar light formed by the plurality of LED modules MJ to spread the light over the entire liquid crystal display panel 59.
- the prism sheet 44 is a sheet-like optical member that overlaps the diffusion plate 43.
- the prism sheet 44 arranges, for example, triangular prisms extending in one direction (linear) in a direction intersecting with one direction in the sheet surface. Thereby, the prism sheet 44 deflects the radiation characteristic of the light from the diffusion plate 43.
- the prisms extend along the Y direction where the number of LEDs 24 is small, and are arranged along the X direction where the number of LEDs 24 is large.
- the microlens sheet 45 is a sheet-like optical member that overlaps the prism sheet 44.
- the microlens sheet 45 disperses the fine particles that refract and scatter light inside. As a result, the microlens sheet 45 suppresses the light / dark difference (light intensity unevenness) without locally condensing the light from the prism sheet 44.
- the backlight unit 49 as described above passes the planar light formed by the plurality of LED modules MJ through the plurality of optical members 43 to 45 and supplies the light to the liquid crystal display panel 59. Thereby, the non-light-emitting liquid crystal display panel 59 receives the light (backlight light) from the backlight unit 49 and improves the display function.
- the support pin 11 will be described in detail with reference to the cross-sectional view of FIG. 1 (cross-sectional view taken along the line A-A ′ of FIG. 9) and the perspective view of FIG.
- the support pins 11 are located between the mounting boards 21 and are attached to the bottom surface 41 ⁇ / b> B of the backlight chassis 41. Then, the support pin 11 rising from the bottom surface 41 ⁇ / b> B passes through the opening 42 ⁇ / b> H formed in the large reflective sheet 42 and protrudes toward the diffusion plate 43.
- Such a support pin 11 includes a column part 12, an engaging part 13, and a top part 14, as shown in FIG.
- the pillar portion 12 is a main body of the support pin 11, and is, for example, a pillar having a square bottom surface (square pillar). And this pillar part 12 is formed with transparent resin which permeate
- the engaging portion 13 is a member connected to the end of the column portion 12 and is a member for attaching the support pin 11 itself to the bottom surface 41 ⁇ / b> B of the backlight chassis 41.
- the engaging portion 13 includes a protruding piece 13A and a hooking piece 13B.
- the protruding piece 13A is a pillar piece having an outer diameter slightly smaller than the diameter of the chassis opening 41H formed in the buckler chassis 41 (however, the pillar shape may be a cylinder or a polygonal pillar). , Protruding from the end of the column portion 12. And 13 A of protrusion pieces make the support pin 11 immovable in the surface direction of the bottom face 41B of the buckler chassis 41 by fitting in the chassis hole 41H.
- the end of the column portion 12 contacts the bottom surface 41B.
- the end of the column portion 12 and the bottom surface 41B of the buckler chassis 41 are preferably in close contact with each other.
- the bottom surface 41B of the buckler chassis 41 is a flat surface, it is desirable that the end of the pillar portion 12 is also a flat surface.
- the hooking piece 13B is a member that is formed at the tip of the protruding piece 13A and is hooked on the edge of the chassis opening 41H of the backlight chassis 41. Accordingly, the hooking piece 13B is hooked on the edge of the chassis hole of the bottom surface 41B, thereby immobilizing the support pin 11 in the rising direction (vertical direction or the like) with respect to the bottom surface 41B.
- the top portion 14 is a member supported by the tip of the column portion 12 and has, for example, a cone shape (tapered shape) such as a cone (however, the tip of the top portion 14 has a hemispherical shape). And this top part 14 is formed with the white resin which reflects light (however, the resin material is not specifically limited, A polycarbonate etc. are mentioned).
- the top portion 14 is formed of a material that reflects light, such as a white resin. Therefore, the light of the diffusion plate 43 is reflected by the top portion 14 and does not travel to the inside of the support pin 11 through the top portion 14. Thus, if the light of the diffusion plate 43 is not absorbed through the top portion 14, the vicinity of the top portion 14 (that is, the vicinity of the tip of the support pin 11) does not become darker than the surroundings, that is, the surroundings except for the top portion 14.
- the light (backlight) that has passed through the optical members 43 to 45 such as the diffusing plate 43 has a light quantity caused by the shadow caused by the support pin 11 and the dark part caused by the top portion 14 of the support pin 11. Unevenness is not included. Therefore, when such a support pin 11 is mounted on the backlight unit 49 that uses the light of the LED 24, the light from the backlight unit 49 is less likely to include unevenness in the amount of light (that is, the support pin 11 is This can be said to be a useful member for the backlight unit 49).
- the support pin 11 has a preferable direction when a plurality of LEDs 24 are arranged side by side and the support pins 11 are arranged between the LEDs 24. . More specifically, as shown in the enlarged view of FIG. 5A, the side surface (plane or the like) 12S along the pin axis direction of the support pin 11 at the column portion 12 is aligned in the LED 24 arrangement direction (that is, the Y direction) sandwiching the support pin 11. ).
- FIG. 5A shows a state in which the side surface 12S of the quadrangular column 12 is inclined at 45 ° with respect to the alignment direction of the LEDs 24 sandwiching the support pins 11.
- the incidence is the same as in FIG.
- Most of the transmitted light is transmitted, but some of the light is reflected and travels along the Y direction by the side surface 12S (in short, the side surface 12S returns the light traveling from the LED 24 to the LED 24). Reflected; see dotted arrow).
- the amount of light traveling in various directions around the support pin 11 tends to decrease.
- the support pins 11 are not conspicuous with respect to the surroundings other than the support pins 11, and as a result, the backlight light is less likely to include light amount unevenness.
- the column portion 12 of the support pin 11 includes the side surface 12S along the pin axis direction, the light from the LED 24 can be reflected and advanced in a desired direction by adjusting the position of the side surface 12S such as a plane.
- the support pin 11 can be made inconspicuous from the outside.
- the column portion 12 and the quadrangular column shape are used, but the present invention is not limited to this.
- it may be a triangular prism or a column having a polygonal bottom surface that is a pentagonal prism or more.
- it may be a cone shape (pyramidal / conical shape) or a frustum shape (pyramidal / conical shape).
- it is only necessary to be a column that can support the top portion 14 and be made of a material that transmits light.
- the shape of the top portion 14 is not limited to a cone-like cone shape (pyramidal / conical shape), and may be a frustum shape (pyramidal frustum shape / conical frustum shape) or a columnar shape.
- the contact area of the support pins 11 with respect to the optical member such as the diffusion plate 43 should be as small as possible. In this case, the area in which the support pin 11 is reflected on the optical member is also narrow, and the light emitted through the optical member is less likely to include light amount unevenness.
- the pillar part 12 and the top part 14 in the support pin 11 may be integrated by being formed by two-color molding (double mold), or the pillar part 12 and the top part 14 which are separate bodies are combined.
- double mold double mold
- one support pin 11 may be provided.
- the manufacturing method may be selected in accordance with various purposes such as the manufacturing cost of the support pins 11 and simplification of the manufacturing.
- the top portion 14 may be a paint agent. That is, most of the support pins 11 appearing on the bottom surface 41 ⁇ / b> B of the backlight chassis 41 are the column portions 12, and a light-reflective coating agent may be applied to the tips of the column portions 12. Even in such a case, the light that travels through the diffusion plate 43 is reflected by the coating agent applied to the tip of the column portion 12 and does not enter the column portion 12 and thus the support pin 11. For this reason, the light from the diffusion plate 43 is not absorbed by the support pin 11, so that the vicinity of the tip of the support pin 11 does not become darker than the surroundings.
- the lens 26 may include a depression hole 26D in which a part of the lens surface 26S overlapping the accommodation depression DH (that is, the LED 24) is depressed.
- a curved surface divided by the depression hole 26D is generated in the lens surface 26S, and the light passing through the lens surface 26S is compared with the light passing through the lens surface without any depression hole, Do not concentrate light with relatively strong light intensity at one point.
- the lens 24 can be said to be a diffusing lens. Then, a relatively large amount of light easily reaches the support pin 11. (It is also possible to diffuse the light with the curvature of the curved surface of the housing recess 26D even with the lens surface 26S having no depression hole at all.) Therefore, the support pin 11 that suppresses the above unevenness in the amount of light is effectively used. Will be.
- the support pin 11 plays a role of supporting the optical members 43 to 45 such as the diffusion plate 43.
- the support pin 11 may be connected to a functional member for other purposes other than supporting the optical members 43 to 45.
- a lamp clip 16 for gripping the fluorescent tube may be attached to the side surface 12S of the support pin 11 as shown in FIG. .
- the lamp clip 16 includes a branch piece 16T and a clip piece 16C formed at the tip of the branch piece 16T.
- the branch piece 16T is an arm-shaped piece that protrudes from the side surface 12S of the column portion 12 and extends toward the top portion 14. In FIG. 7, the branch pieces 16T protrude from the two opposing side surfaces 12S one by one, but the present invention is not limited to this.
- the clip piece 16C is a member that is positioned at the tip of each branch piece 16T and grips a side surface of a rod-like (columnar or the like) fluorescent tube. Therefore, the clip piece 16 ⁇ / b> C has a cylindrical tubular shape having a cut ST on the side surface in order to hold a cylindrical fluorescent tube or the like. In addition, since the clip piece 16C grips the fluorescent tube, the inner diameter of the clip piece 16C is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the fluorescent tube.
- the clip piece 16C includes an overhanging portion AP / AP that becomes an edge portion of the cut ST.
- the overhanging portions AP and AP spread as they move away from the center of the inner diameter of the clip piece 16C. Therefore, the interval between the cuts ST (between the protruding portions AP and AP) increases as the distance from the center of the inner diameter of the clip piece 16C increases.
- an overhanging portion AP / AP has an elastic force because it is made of resin. Then, when the fluorescent tube is pressed in conformity with the cut ST, the overhang portions AP and AP are separated from each other due to elasticity. As a result, the fluorescent tube easily fits inside the clip piece 16C.
- the overhanging portions AP / AP having the increased interval between the cuts ST return to the original state (normal state in which the fluorescent tube is not sandwiched) due to elasticity. Then, the overhanging portions AP and AP approach each other and press the fluorescent tube. As a result, the fluorescent tube is stably gripped without dropping from the clip piece 16C.
- the support pin 11 is integrated with the lamp clip 16 as described above, a lamp clip that only holds the fluorescent tube becomes unnecessary, and the number of parts of the backlight unit 49 is suppressed. As a result, the manufacture of the backlight unit 49 is simplified.
- the functional member for other uses is not limited to a member that holds a light source such as a fluorescent tube, but may be a member that connects a plurality of separate members.
- a rivet RT that fastens the mounting substrate 21 and the bottom surface 41 ⁇ / b> B of the backlight chassis 41 in the LED module MJ may be integrated with the support pin 11.
- the lamp clip 16 may be attached to the support pin 11 that serves as the rivet RT. That is, the support pin 11 that supports the optical member, holds the fluorescent tube, and fastens the mounting substrate 21 and the backlight chassis 41 may be used.
