Abstract
Description
本願は、2008年8月29日に、日本に出願された特願2008-222551号に基づき優先権を主張し、その内容をここに援用する。
ところで、この塩素バイパス装置から排出される塩素バイパスダストは、タリウム等の有用な重金属類を含んでいるので、再びセメント原料として再利用するには、これらの塩素化合物を取り除くとともに、タリウム等の有用な重金属類を回収する必要がある。
(1)タリウム含有原料を、硫酸と還元剤とを用いて還元浸出し、得られた浸出液を中和し濾別して、タリウム浸出液と中和澱物とを得、この中和澱物を塩酸に溶解した後、還元剤を添加し、生成した沈澱を固液分離することにより、タリウムを回収する方法(特許文献1)。
(2)タリウム含有物質を、酸化浸出し、固液分離してタリウム含有液を得、このタリウム含有液に還元剤及び塩素源を加えて塩化タリウム等を沈澱させ、この塩化タリウムを濃硫酸で加熱溶解して硫酸タリウム溶液を得、この硫酸タリウム溶液を還元することにより、金属タリウムを回収する方法(特許文献2)。
そこで、排水に直流電流を通電することにより、この排水に溶存する金属を酸化物として析出させ、この金属酸化物を上記の排水から分離する排水からの金属の除去方法が提案されている(特許文献3)。
このように、タリウム含有硝酸カリウムについては、従来から資源として有効利用されておらず、また、有効利用するための方法の検討についても殆どなされておらず、安全性を考慮した上で廃棄物として処理されているのが現状である。
すなわち、本発明のタリウム及び硝酸カリウムの回収方法は、タリウム含有硝酸カリウムからタリウム及び硝酸カリウムを回収する方法であって、前記タリウム含有硝酸カリウムを加熱・溶融して溶融塩とし、この溶融塩に直流電流を通電することにより、この溶融塩に溶存するタリウムを金属タリウムとして分離させ、この金属タリウム及びタリウムが分離された溶融塩を個々に回収することを特徴とする。
これにより、タリウム含有硝酸カリウムに含まれるタリウム及び硝酸カリウムを効率的に回収することが可能になり、この回収されたタリウム及び硝酸カリウムを有効利用することが可能になる。
前記溶融塩から分離した溶融金属タリウムを陰極とし、この陰極と前記陽極との間に直流電流を通電することにより、この溶融塩に溶存するタリウムを金属タリウムとして沈殿させることが好ましい。
前記溶融塩の温度は、硝酸カリウムの融点以上かつ熱分解温度以下であることが好ましい。
これにより、簡単な装置で、タリウム含有硝酸カリウムに含まれるタリウム及び硝酸カリウムを効率的に回収することが可能になり、この回収されたタリウム及び硝酸カリウムを有効利用することが可能になる。
前記電気分解手段は、前記溶融塩に挿入される陽極と、前記溶融塩から生じた溶融金属タリウムに接触することにより該溶融金属タリウムを陰極とする電極端子と、これら陽極及び陰極間に直流電流を通電する直流電流通電手段と、を備えてなることが好ましい。
前記溶融炉は、底部に取り出し口が形成された磁性坩堝であることが好ましい。
また、タリウム含有硝酸カリウムを加熱・溶融した溶融塩に直流電流を通電するだけでよいので、金属タリウム及び硝酸カリウムを回収するためのコスト及び時間も低く抑えることができる。
また、溶融炉と電気分解手段とを備えた簡素な装置であるから、タリウム及び硝酸カリウムを回収するためのコストも低く抑えることができる。
なお、本形態は、発明の趣旨をより良く理解させるために具体的に説明するものであり、特に指定のない限り、本発明を限定するものではない。
このタリウム及び硝酸カリウムの回収装置1は、タリウム含有硝酸カリウムを加熱・溶融して溶融塩Sとする溶融炉2と、溶融塩Sに直流電流を通電して溶融塩Sに溶存するタリウムを金属タリウムMTとして分離させる電気分解装置(電気分解手段)3とを備えている。
溶融炉2は、底部11aに取り出し口12が形成された磁性坩堝11と、この取り出し口12に設けられバルブ13により開閉可能とされた取り出し用配管14とにより構成されている。
磁性坩堝11は、内部に誘導加熱装置を備え、貯留されたタリウム含有硝酸カリウムを誘導加熱により加熱・溶融して溶融塩Sとする装置である。
この電極端子22の替わりに、陽極21と同一形状の棒状の陰極を溶融塩S中に挿入し、これら陽極21と棒状の陰極との間に直流電流を通電することとしてもよい。
陽極21及び電極端子22(または棒状の陰極)は、白金、黒鉛、チタン等の電極材料からなる電極であり、この電極材料は、いずれを用いてもよい。
本実施形態の回収方法は、タリウム含有硝酸カリウムを加熱・溶融して溶融塩とし、この溶融塩に直流電流を通電することにより、この溶融塩に溶存するタリウムを金属タリウムとして分離させ、この金属タリウム及びタリウムが分離された溶融塩を個々に回収する方法である。
「タリウム含有硝酸カリウムの加熱・溶融」
タリウム含有硝酸カリウムを所定量、溶融炉2の磁性坩堝11に投入し、このタリウム含有硝酸カリウムを誘導加熱により硝酸カリウムの融点(334.3℃)以上かつ熱分解温度(400℃)以下、好ましくは340℃以上かつ360℃以下に加熱する。これにより、タリウム含有硝酸カリウムは、溶融して溶融塩Sとなる。
温度が硝酸カリウムの融点(334.3℃)未満であると、タリウム含有硝酸カリウムが溶融せず、また、熱分解温度(400℃)を超えると、タリウム含有硝酸カリウムの硝酸カリウムが熱分解してしまうので好ましくない。
溶融塩Sに、陽極21と、陰極となる電極端子22とを挿入し、直流安定化電源23によりこれら陽極21と陰極(電極端子22)との間に直流電圧を印加し、陽極21と陰極(電極端子22)との間に直流電流を通電する。
これにより、溶融塩Sのうちの硝酸タリウムは電気分解されて金属タリウムMTとなる。この金属タリウム(比重:11.85、融点:303.5℃、沸点:1487℃)MTの温度は、溶融塩S(比重:2.11)の温度(334.3℃~400℃)の範囲内にあるので、これら金属タリウムMTと溶融塩Sとの比重差が大きいことにより、溶融した状態で磁性坩堝11の底部11aに沈殿する。
ここで、溶融金属タリウムMTを電極端子22により陰極とし、陽極21と電極端子22との間に直流電圧を印加して電気分解を行うこととすれば、装置をより簡便にすることができる。
磁性坩堝11の底部11aに沈殿している溶融金属タリウムMTを、バルブ13を開放することにより取り出し用配管14から取り出す。次いで、硝酸カリウムも同様に取り出し用配管14から取り出す。
溶融金属タリウムMTを取り出す場合、溶融塩Sの温度を金属タリウムの融点(303.5℃)以上かつ硝酸カリウムの融点(334.3℃)以下に調整すれば、硝酸カリウムが混ざる虞が無くなり、溶融金属タリウムMTのみが効率よく取り出せるので、好ましい。
このようにして回収された金属タリウム及び硝酸カリウムは、必要に応じて所定の処理が施され、再利用される。
また、溶融金属タリウムMTを取り出し、続いて硝酸カリウムを取り出すことができるので、タリウム及び硝酸カリウムを回収するためのコスト及び時間も低く抑えることができる。
また、装置の構成が簡単であるから、溶融金属タリウム及び硝酸カリウムを回収するためのコストも低く抑えることができる。
タリウム含有量が7500ppmのタリウム含有硝酸カリウム500gを溶融炉2の磁性坩堝11内に投入し、このタリウム含有硝酸カリウムを誘導加熱により400℃に加熱し、溶融塩Sとした。
次いで、溶融塩Sに、幅10mm×長さ100mm×厚み1mmの一対の白金電極を陽極21及び陰極として、10cm離して挿入し、直流安定化電源23によりこれら陽極21と陰極との間に3.4Vの直流電圧を印加し、定電流制御により0.5Aの直流電流を通電した。
磁性坩堝11の底部11aに沈殿している溶融金属状物質を、バルブ13を開放することにより取り出し用配管14から取り出し、その後、室温まで除冷し、実施例1の金属状物質を得た。
この金属状物質の同定を粉末X線回折(XRD)により行ったところ、金属タリウムであることが確認された。図2に、実施例1の金属状物質の粉末X線回折(XRD)図形を示す。
この白色物質の同定を粉末X線回折(XRD)により行ったところ、結晶性の良い硝酸カリウムであることが確認された。図3に、実施例1の白色物質の粉末X線回折(XRD)図形を示す。
この白色物質中のタリウムの含有量をIPC-AESにより分析したところ、745mg/kgであり、当初のタリウム含有硝酸カリウムと比べてタリウムの含有量が約1/10になっていることが分かった。
タリウム含有量が7500ppmのタリウム含有硝酸カリウム500gを溶融炉2の磁性坩堝11内に投入し、このタリウム含有硝酸カリウムを誘導加熱により400℃に加熱し、溶融塩Sとした。
次いで、この溶融塩Sの中に、別途用意した金属タリウムを静かに沈めた。この金属タリウムは、溶融して磁性坩堝11の底部に沈降した。
次いで、この磁性坩堝11の底部に溶融している金属タリウムを電極端子22を介して陰極とし、直流安定化電源23によりこれら陽極21と電極端子22との間に3.4Vの直流電圧を印加し、定電流制御により0.5Aの直流電流を通電した。
この電気分解により、金属状物質が磁性坩堝11の底部11aに沈殿した。
この金属状物質の同定を粉末X線回折(XRD)により行ったところ、金属タリウムであることが確認された。

図4によれば、通電前の溶融塩中のタリウム濃度は7500mg/kg、1000秒通電後の溶融塩中のタリウム濃度は4200mg/kg、2000秒通電後の溶融塩中のタリウム濃度は2300mg/kgであり、通電時間の経過に伴って、溶融塩中のタリウム濃度が減少していることが分かる。

- タリウム含有硝酸カリウムからタリウム及び硝酸カリウムを回収する方法であって、
前記タリウム含有硝酸カリウムを加熱・溶融して溶融塩とし、この溶融塩に直流電流を通電することにより、この溶融塩に溶存するタリウムを金属タリウムとして分離させ、この金属タリウム及びタリウムが分離された溶融塩を個々に回収することを特徴とするタリウム及び硝酸カリウムの回収方法。 - 前記タリウム含有硝酸カリウムを加熱・溶融した溶融塩に陽極及び陰極を挿入し、これら陽極及び陰極間に直流電流を通電することにより、この溶融塩に溶存するタリウムを金属タリウムとして沈殿させることを特徴とする請求項1記載のタリウム及び硝酸カリウムの回収方法。
- 前記溶融塩から分離した溶融金属タリウムを陰極とし、この陰極と前記陽極との間に直流電流を通電することにより、この溶融塩に溶存するタリウムを金属タリウムとして沈殿させることを特徴とする請求項2記載のタリウム及び硝酸カリウムの回収方法。
- 前記溶融塩の温度は、硝酸カリウムの融点以上かつ熱分解温度以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のタリウム及び硝酸カリウムの回収方法。
- 前記溶融塩の温度は、硝酸カリウムの融点以上かつ熱分解温度以下であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のタリウム及び硝酸カリウムの回収方法。
- 前記溶融塩の温度は、硝酸カリウムの融点以上かつ熱分解温度以下であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のタリウム及び硝酸カリウムの回収方法。
- タリウム含有硝酸カリウムからタリウム及び硝酸カリウムを回収する装置であって、
前記タリウム含有硝酸カリウムを加熱・溶融して溶融塩とする溶融炉と、
前記溶融塩に直流電流を通電して該溶融塩に溶存するタリウムを金属タリウムとして分離させる電気分解手段と、
を備えてなることを特徴とするタリウム及び硝酸カリウムの回収装置。 - 前記電気分解手段は、前記溶融塩に挿入される陽極と、前記溶融塩から生じた溶融金属タリウムに接触することにより該溶融金属タリウムを陰極とする電極端子と、これら陽極及び陰極間に直流電流を通電する直流電流通電手段と、
を備えてなることを特徴とする請求項7記載のタリウム及び硝酸カリウムの回収装置。 - 前記溶融炉は、底部に取り出し口が形成された磁性坩堝であることを特徴とする請求項7記載のタリウム及び硝酸カリウムの回収装置。
- 前記溶融炉は、底部に取り出し口が形成された磁性坩堝であることを特徴とする請求項8記載のタリウム及び硝酸カリウムの回収装置。
