Abstract
Description
このような情報記録媒体は、情報記録性能を有するとともに、記録された内容を示すインデックスや各種の装飾デザインを、情報記録媒体の表面などに印刷していることが多い。そして、印刷としては、インクジェット印刷やスクリーン印刷などといった従来公知の印刷手段により実施されている。
そして、インク受理層を形成するためのコート剤としては、紫外線硬化タイプのものが使用されており、優れたインク吸収性が求められている(例えば、特許文献1から特許文献4参照)。
特許文献2には、液状の水溶性モノマーと該モノマー可溶性のポリマーと染料固着剤とを含んでおり、ここで、液状の水溶性モノマーとは、常温において水と任意の比率で溶解し合うことのできる放射線重合性のモノマーであり、水溶性モノマー可溶性のポリマーの添加量は、液状の水溶性モノマー100重量部当たり、0.5~30重量部である放射線硬化型受理性インキが示されている。
特許文献3には、アクリロイルモリホリンとN-ビニルホルムアミドとの混合物を含有する水溶性モノマーと、ヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロースを含有する水溶性ポリマーと、カチオンポリアミン樹脂を含有する染料固着剤と、シリカ、ウォラストナイト及びシリコンビーズから選ばれる一つ以上であるフィラーとを含有する活性エネルギー線硬化型スクリーンインキ組成物が示されている。
特許文献4には、水酸基を有する水溶性単官能モノマーと、水溶性ポリマーと、染料固着剤と、平均粒子径が6~18μmであり、かつ、最大粒子径が30μm以下であって、インキ組成物100部中に10~25部含有するシリカとを含有する活性エネルギー線硬化型スクリーンインキ組成物が示されている。
この発明では、重合反応性オリゴマーと、水溶性モノマーと、光重合開始剤と、染料固着剤とを含有する紫外線硬化型コート剤において、アリルアミン重合体、アリルアミン塩酸塩重合体、アリルアミン塩酸塩とジアリルアミン塩酸塩との共重合体、アリルアミン塩酸塩とジメチルアリルアミン塩酸塩との共重合体、ジシアンジアミドとジエチレントリアミンとの共重合体の塩酸塩、及びジメチルアミンとエピクロヒドリンとの共重合体から選択される少なくともいずれか一種の水溶液を含有している染料固着剤を用いている。
このことにより、印刷画像の乾燥性やにじみ性が良好であり、特に耐水性に優れた印刷適性を得ることができる。よって、本発明に記載の紫外線硬化型コート剤を用いることで、インク受理層の印刷適正として要求される印刷画像の乾燥性やにじみ性を十分に維持しつつ、水中に浸漬するという過酷な環境下においても優れた耐水性を得ることができる。
また、染料固着剤として、上述した少なくとも一種の水溶液を含有することで、均一に塗膜することが可能となる。
この発明では、染料固着剤の含有量が0.5質量%より少なくなると、耐水性が低下するおそれがある。一方、染料固着剤の含有量が8質量%より多くなると、耐水性が飽和状態となるとともに、耐光性が低下するおそれがある。
このことにより、染料固着剤の含有量を0.5質量%以上8質量%以下、好ましくは0.7質量%以上6質量%以下とすることが好ましい。
この発明では、重合反応性オリゴマーとして、ウレタンアクリレートオリゴマー、エポキシアクリレートオリゴマー、ポリエステルオリゴマー、アクリルオリゴマーから選ばれる少なくとも1種類を用いるので、オリゴマー添加により特に耐水性が向上し、優れた印刷適性を提供するための材料である重合反応性オリゴマーが容易に得られる。
この発明では、水溶性モノマーとして、50質量%以上のアクリロイルモルフォリンを含有したものを用いるので、モノマー添加により特に印刷画像の乾燥性およびにじみ性が向上し、例えば製膜により形成されるインク受理層の優れた印刷適性が得られる。
ここで、アクリロイルモルフォリンの含有量が50質量%より少なくなると、例えば製膜により形成されるインク受理層の印刷適性、特に印刷画像の乾燥性およびにじみ性が低下するおそれがある。このことにより、アクリロイルモルフォリンの含有量を50質量%以上とすることが好ましい。
この発明では、重合反応性オリゴマーの含有量が5質量%より少なくなると、例えば製膜により形成されるインク受理層の印刷適性のうち、特に耐水性が低下するおそれがある。
一方、重合反応性オリゴマーの含有量が30質量%より多くなると、例えば製膜により形成されるインク受理層の印刷適性、特に印刷画像の乾燥性およびにじみ性が低下するおそれがある。
このことにより、重合反応性オリゴマーの含有量を5質量%以上30質量%以下、好ましくは8質量%以上25質量%以下とすることが好ましい。
この発明では、水溶性モノマーの含有量が40質量%より少なくなると、例えば製膜により形成されるインク受理層の印刷適性のうち、特に印刷画像の乾燥性およびにじみ性が低下するおそれがある。
一方、水溶性モノマーの含有量が85質量%より多くなると、例えば製膜により形成されるインク受理層の印刷適性のうち、特に印刷画像の耐水性が低下するおそれがある。このことにより、水溶性モノマーの含有量を40質量%以上85質量%以下、好ましくは40質量%以上75質量%以下とすることが好ましい。
この発明では、光重合開始剤の含有量が1質量%より少なくなると、硬化が不十分となるおそれがある。一方、光重合開始剤の含有量が10質量%より多くなると、耐光性が低下するおそれがある。
このことにより、光重合開始剤の含有量を1質量%以上10質量%以下、好ましくは2質量%以上6質量%以下とする。
この発明では、重合反応性オリゴマー、水溶性モノマー、光重合開始剤、および染料固着剤に加えて、5質量%以上50質量%以下の吸水性フィラーを含有することで、例えば製膜により形成されるインク受理層におけるより優れた印刷適性が得られる。
ここで、吸水性フィラーの含有量が5質量%より少なくなると、例えば製膜により形成されるインク受理層の印刷適性のうち、特に印刷画像の乾燥性およびにじみ性が低下するおそれがある。一方、吸水性フィラーの含有量が50質量%より多くなると、増粘して均一な製膜が得られなくなるおそれがある。
このことにより、吸水性フィラーの含有量を5質量%以上50質量%以下、好ましくは10質量%以上40質量%以下とすることが好ましい。
この発明では、例えば製膜により形成されるインク受理層における優れた印刷適性が得られる紫外線硬化型コート剤を基材の表面に塗布している。
このことにより、例えばインク吸収性を有しない基材やインク吸収性が低い基材などに対しても、良好な印刷を付与できる。
なお、本実施形態では、本発明における成形品として、例えばCD-R(Compact Disc-Recordable)やDVD-R(Digital Versatile Disc-Recordable)など、一面に情報記録面を有し他面にレーベル面を有した円盤状の情報記録媒体を例示するが、この限りではない。例えば、フレキシブルディスク(FD:Flexible Disk)、光磁気(MO:Magnet-Optical)ディスク、ミニディスク(MD:Mini Disc)、カセットテープなど、情報記録部を収容するカートリッジ、各種の情報記録媒体に用いられる印刷用ラベル紙などの印刷用紙、さらには、合成樹脂成形品、ガラス、木材、鋼板、皮革品、織布や不織布など、各種基材を対象とすることができる。
図1は、本実施形態における情報記録媒体の概略構成を示す断面図である。
図1の成形品としての情報記録媒体1は、例えばCD-RやDVD-Rなどのディスク状の記録媒体で、一面に情報が記録される図示しない情報記録面が設けられ、他面に印刷可能なレーベル面が設けられている。
この情報記録媒体1は、円盤状のディスクである基材3の表面に対して、紫外線照射により硬化されるインク受理層2を備えて構成されている。なお、情報記録媒体1における情報が記録される層(情報記録層)は、図1における基材3の層構成に含まれる。そして、基材3としては、一般的に情報記録媒体1に用いられるポリカーボネート樹脂である円盤状のディスク基板により構成されたものが例示できる。
そして、インク受理層2は、詳細は後述する紫外線硬化型コート剤が各種方法により基材3の表面に塗布されて、例えば水性の被膜状に形成されている。塗膜方法としては、バーコート、コンマコート、ナイフコート、ダイコート、スピンコート、スクリーン印刷、グラビア印刷、フレキソ印刷、パッド印刷、インクジェット印刷など、従来公知のコーティングまたは印刷手段を適宜用いることができる。なお、特に、バーコート、スピンコート、スクリーン印刷の方法が、情報記録媒体の塗膜方法として一般的に用いられていることから好ましい。また、塗膜の硬化には、照射装置の構成や塗膜工程における作業性や装置構成などの点および作業性が容易で汎用の簡単な構成を利用できる点を考慮して、紫外線を用いる。
本実施形態において、インク受理層2を構成する紫外線硬化型コート剤は、重合反応性オリゴマーと、水溶性モノマーと、光重合開始剤と、染料固着剤と、吸水性フィラーと、を含有している。
なお、本発明の効果を妨げない範囲で、消泡剤、分散剤、保水剤、増粘剤、離型剤、防腐剤、着色顔料、湿潤剤、蛍光塗料、紫外線吸収剤などの添加剤を、必要に応じて適宜配合することができる。また、紫外線硬化型コート剤としては、吸水性フィラーを含有させなくてもよい。
なお、重合反応性オリゴマーとして、ウレタンアクリレートオリゴマー、エポキシアクリレートオリゴマー、ポリエステルオリゴマー、アクリルオリゴマーから選ばれる少なくとも1種類のものが、特に耐水性の向上という点で好適である。その他、例えば「光硬化技術データブック 材料編」(テクノネット社発行(2000年12月5日発行))の第84頁から第118頁に記載されている水溶性のオリゴマーを用いることができる。
具体的には、アクリロイルモルフォリン、ブタンジオールモノアクリレート、2-ヒドロキシエチルアクリレート、N,N-ジメチルアミノエチルアクリレート、N,N-ジメチルアクリルアミド、2-ヒドロキシエチルビニルエーテルなどが例示できる。その他、例えば「光硬化技術データブック 材料編」(テクノネット社発行(2000年12月5日発行))の第6頁から第81頁に記載されている水溶性のモノマーを用いることができる。特に、アクリロイルモルフォリンを主体とした系では印刷適性が優れているので好ましい。
この水溶性モノマーとしては、50質量%以上のアクリロイルモルフォリンを含有したものを用いることが、特に乾燥性およびにじみ性という点で好適である。
ここで、アクリロイルモルフォリンの含有量が50質量%より少なくなると、例えば製膜により形成されるインク受理層2の印刷適性、特に印刷画像の乾燥性およびにじみ性が低下するおそれがある。このことにより、アクリロイルモルフォリンの含有量を50質量%以上とすることが好ましい。
なお、他の共重合可能な水溶性モノマーを、水溶性モノマー中で50質量%以下の割合で含んでいてもよい。さらには、本発明の効果を妨げない範囲で非水溶性モノマーを、水溶性モノマーに対して30質量%以下の割合で含有させてもよい。
無機フィラーとしては、例えば、シリカ、タルク、炭酸カルシウム、硫酸バリウム、ゼオライトなどが挙げられる。また、有機フィラーとしては、例えば、天然有機物微粉末(コラーゲン、シルク、セルロース、でんぷん、キチン、キトサン、卵殻膜など)、吸水性樹脂パウダ(例えば、吸水性アクリル樹脂、吸水性ポリエステル樹脂などのパウダ)などが挙げられる。これらの無機フィラーおよび有機フィラーは、1種を単独で使用してもよく、または2種以上を組み合わせて使用してもよい。
具体的には、ヒドロキシケトンである2-ヒドロキシ-2-メチル-1-フェニルプロパン-1-オン、ベンゾインエチルエーテル、1-ヒドロキシ-シクロヘキシル-フェニル-ケトン、アミノケトンである2-メチル-1[4-(メチルチオ)フェニル]-2-モルフォリノプロパン-1-オンなどが例示できる。その他、例えば「光硬化技術データブック 材料編」(テクノネット社発行(2000年12月5日発行))の第122頁から第133頁に記載されている光重合開始剤を用いることができる。特に、乾燥性の点で2-ヒドロキシ-2-メチル-1-フェニルプロパン-1-オン、ベンゾインエチルエーテルを用いることが好適である。また、光重合開始剤は、上記した各種の光重合開始剤の2種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。
染料固着剤としては、アリルアミン重合体、アリルアミン塩酸塩重合体、アリルアミン塩酸塩とジアリルアミン塩酸塩との共重合体、アリルアミン塩酸塩とジメチルアリルアミン塩酸塩との共重合体、ジシアンジアミドとジエチレントリアミンとの共重合体の塩酸塩、及びジメチルアミンとエピクロヒドリンとの共重合体から選択される少なくとも一種の水溶液を含有している染料固着剤を用いている。なお、染料固着剤としては、上述した水溶液をそのまま配合したものを用いてもよいが、これに限らず、上述した水溶液に吸水性フィラーを高濃度で混合してペースト状にしたものを用いてもよい。
上述したように、本実施形態の紫外線硬化型コート剤は、重合反応性オリゴマーと、水溶性モノマーと、光重合開始剤と、染料固着剤と、を含有しているので、オリゴマー添加の特徴である耐水性と、モノマー添加の特徴である乾燥性およびにじみ性とのバランスが良好となり、例えば基材3の表面上に塗膜形成されたインク受理層2は、優れたインク吸収性を有するとともに、印刷画像の乾燥性、印刷画像のにじみ性、耐水性も良好で、優れた印刷適性が得られる。さらには、本実施形態によれば、熱によって硬化させる場合に比べて、塗布される基材3には余分なエネルギーが与えられないため、例えば熱変形などによる損傷など、基材3の劣化を防止できる。このため、加熱できないような塗布対象でも適用でき、汎用性を向上できる。
このため、オリゴマーを添加することにより、特に耐水性の向上が得られ、例えば製膜により形成されたインク受理層2において優れた印刷適性が得られる。
このため、モノマーを添加することにより、特に乾燥性およびにじみ性の向上が得られ、例えば製膜により形成されるインク受理層2において優れた印刷適性が得られる。
このため、オリゴマー添加の特徴である耐水性と、モノマー添加の特徴である乾燥性およびにじみ性とのバランスが良好で、例えば製膜により形成されるインク受理層2において優れた印刷適性が得られる。
このため、フィラー添加による特に乾燥性および耐水性の向上が得られ、例えば製膜により形成されるインク受理層2においてより優れた印刷適性が得られる。
なお、以上に説明した態様は、本発明の一態様を示したものであって、本発明は、前記した実施形態に限定されるものではなく、本発明の目的および効果を達成できる範囲内での変形や改良が、本発明の内容に含まれるものであることはいうまでもない。また、本発明を実施する際における具体的な構造および形状などは、本発明の目的および効果を達成できる範囲内において、他の構造や形状などとしてもよい。
また、紫外線硬化型コート剤としては、例えば重合反応性オリゴマーと、水溶性モノマーと、光重合開始剤と、を含有する1液型のもの、インク受理層2を塗布形成する際に光重合開始剤を混合して用いる多液型のものなど、紫外線硬化型コート剤の形態としてはいずれの構成を適用することができる。
以下の表1および表2に示す配合割合で所定量の原料を計量し、混合機(株式会社シンキー(THINKY Corporation)製 商品名:A-250)にて混合した。なお、表1および表2中で示す「水」は、染料固着剤として水溶液にするために用いたものである。

上述で作製した試料を、100μm厚のPET(polyethylene terephthalate)フイルム(東レ株式会社製 商品名:ルミラーT100)に、膜厚が15~25μmとなるようにバーコータ(R K Print Coat Instruments社 商品名:K-202)で塗布した。
そして、紫外線照射装置(GS Yuasa Lighting社 商品名:CSOT-40)にて積算放射量200mJ/cm2で塗膜を硬化させ、インク受理層を形成した。
上述のインク受理層の表面にインクジェット方式のカラープリンタ(セイコーエプソン株式会社製 商品名:PM-G850)により、黒・青・黄・赤のベタ画像(solid image)を隣接して印刷した。そして、印刷状況を比較評価した。印刷状況としては、以下に示す乾燥性、にじみ性、耐水性について、4段階で評価した。すなわち、非常に良好であったものを「A」、良好であったものを「B」、やや劣るものを「C」、非常に劣るものを「D」とした。その評価結果を表1および表2に併せて示す。
・乾燥性
印刷5分後に、印刷面に紙(アスクル社製,商品名:マルチペーパースーパーエコノミー)を押し当て、紙にインクが転写される程度を評価した。
・にじみ性
塗膜の印刷画像が、滲んでいる程度を評価した。
・耐水性
塗膜の印刷画像を水中に3分間浸漬させる。取り出した後、そのまま乾燥させインクのにじみ程度を評価した。
表1および表2に示す結果から、重合反応性オリゴマー、水溶性モノマー、光重合開始剤および染料固着剤を、所定の範囲で配合した実施例1から実施例13では、同質の材料でも配合比が異なる比較例1から比較例9では得られない、総合的に良好な印刷特性が得られることが認められた。
特に、実施例1から実施例13では、インク受理層の印刷適正として要求される印刷画像の乾燥性やにじみ性を十分に維持しつつ、水中に浸漬するという過酷な環境下においても優れた耐水性が得られることが認められた。

- 重合反応性オリゴマーと、水溶性モノマーと、光重合開始剤と、染料固着剤と、を含有する紫外線硬化型コート剤であって、
前記染料固着剤として、アリルアミン重合体、アリルアミン塩酸塩重合体、アリルアミン塩酸塩とジアリルアミン塩酸塩との共重合体、アリルアミン塩酸塩とジメチルアリルアミン塩酸塩との共重合体、ジシアンジアミドとジエチレントリアミンとの共重合体の塩酸塩、及びジメチルアミンとエピクロヒドリンとの共重合体から選択される少なくともいずれか一種の水溶液を含有する
ことを特徴とした紫外線硬化型コート剤。 - 請求項1に記載の紫外線硬化型コート剤であって、
