Definitions
- the present invention relates to an electromagnetic field measurement apparatus that measures an electromagnetic field generated from an electronic circuit or the like by measuring an electromagnetic field using a laser beam, an optical fiber, and an electro-optic / magneto-optic material.
- the probe consists of an optical fiber and an EO / MO material formed at its tip.
- the advantage of this type of probe is that high spatial resolution measurement on a circuit and measurement in a fine or narrow region are possible because the EO / MO material that is a sensor element is minute and the optical fiber is thin.
- the measurement is performed by using only one optical fiber probe and fixing it at a measurement location or scanning the object to be measured.
- a flat EO material of 1 to 2 cm square is arranged on the object to be measured, and the electric field distribution in the irradiation region is obtained by irradiating the material with laser light having a beam diameter similar to the planar size of the EO material.
- a method (electric field camera) for measuring instantaneously has also been reported (for example, see Non-Patent Document 2).
- the advantage of this type of probe is that electric field distribution can be measured in a very short time without scanning the probe.
- wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) communication has shown great progress as a method that enables large-capacity and high-speed communication, and this advantage can be achieved by using many different wavelengths by using optical fibers.
- WDM wavelength division multiplexing
- the conventional optical fiber probe performs measurement at a single point or plane measurement over time, so the time in an area where a large number of devices are mounted, such as the entire printed circuit board or a certain area, is measured. It was impossible to detect circuit operation.
- An object of the present invention is to provide an electromagnetic field measuring apparatus capable of accurately and timely detecting circuit operation in an area where electronic devices are densely mounted.
- the laser light source that emits laser light
- the polarization controller that linearly polarizes the laser light emitted from the laser light source, the electro-optic material or the magneto-optic material at the tip, and the tip
- An optical fiber probe in which the laser light reflected by a portion undergoes polarization modulation in accordance with the electric field strength or magnetic field strength at the tip, and an analyzer for converting the laser light reflected by the optical fiber probe into intensity modulated light
- the laser light source emits a plurality of laser beams having different wavelengths in a time division manner, and synthesizes / demultiplexes the laser light linearly polarized by the polarization controller.
- an optical circulator for outputting the laser light input from the combiner / splitter to the analyzer, and the laser light input from the optical circulator for each wave of the laser light.

- the laser light is linearly polarized by the polarization controller 3, passes through the optical circulator 4, and then the path is determined for each wavelength by the multiplexer / demultiplexer 5 and enters the optical fiber probe 6.
- the optical path can be determined such that, for example, the light of ⁇ 1 is directed to the probe 6a and the light of ⁇ 2 is directed to the probe 6b. Thereafter, the light enters the EO / MO material 14 at the probe tip, propagates through the material, is reflected at the bottom surface of the material, and returns to the optical fiber 6 again, but undergoes polarization modulation according to the external electric / magnetic field strength in the process.
