Abstract
燃料噴射弁5から燃焼室6内に燃料を噴射して、前記燃焼室6内に噴霧7を生成させるディーゼルエンジン1において、前記燃料噴射弁5の軸心L1をシリンダ2の軸心L2に対しシリンダ2径方向外方へオフセットして、燃料噴射弁5をシリンダ2の内周面側に位置させると共に、前記燃料噴射弁5の噴孔5aを、平面視で前記軸心L1とL2を結んで形成された直線を基準として左右の二つのグループに分け、且つ、噴孔5aから噴射された燃料の噴霧7は、平面視で扇状に進行し、燃料噴射弁5から離反した側においてシリンダ2の内周面に衝突するよう構成した。
