Abstract

 組成が下記化学式(1)   Ln3αxAl5-x-yβyO12:Ce ……(1)  (但し、LnはY,Lu,Gdから選択される少なくとも1種の元素であり、α及びβは対をなす元素であり、その組合せ(α,β)は(Mg,Si),(B,Sc)および(B,In)のいずれかであり、x,yはそれぞれ原子比でx<2,y<2,0.9≦x/y≦1.1なる関係式を満たす係数である。)で表されることを特徴とする蛍光体である。この蛍光体と、発光ピーク波長が430~470nmである青色発光ダイオードとを組合せてLEDランプが形成される。上記蛍光体によれば、赤色発光成分を効果的に補うことができる蛍光体が提供される。また、上記蛍光体をLEDランプの蛍光体として使用することにより、演色性が優れた発光を放出できるLEDランプが提供される。
