Abstract

 コアとコアの外周に形成したクラッドとを備え、半径方向における屈折率分布をn(r)、コア中心における屈折率をn1、コア中心のクラッドに対する比屈折率差をΔ1、コアの半径をa、屈折率分布パラメータをα、「^」をべき乗を示す記号とすると、n(r)は0<r≦aにおいてはn(r)=n1[1-2(Δ1/100)(r/a)^α]1/2、a<rにおいてはn(r)=n1[1-2(Δ1/100)]1/2で近似され、αは1.95~2.15、比屈折率差は1.5%以上、コアの直径は20~45μm、クラッドの直径は70~90μm、曲率半径5mmで曲げたときの波長850nmにおける曲げ損失が0.1dB/ターン以下である。これによって、高速光伝送が可能であって、曲げ損失が小さく、低コストかつ容易に製造できる光ファイバおよび光ファイバテープならびに省スペースで低コストの光インターコネクションシステムを提供する。
