 本発明の半導体装置は、SiおよびOを含む材料からなる第1絶縁層と、前記第1絶縁層を掘り下げた形状の溝と、前記溝に埋設され、Cuを主成分とする金属材料からなる埋設体と、前記第1絶縁層および前記埋設体上に積層され、SiおよびOを含む材料からなる第2絶縁層と、前記埋設体と前記第1絶縁層および前記第2絶縁層との各間に形成され、MnxSiyOz(x,y,z:零よりも大きい数)からなるバリア膜とを備えている。
