Abstract

　相手部材の周面に摺動自在に密接するシールリップ６を設け、シールリップ６に密封流体側斜面７および反密封流体側斜面８を設け、反密封流体側斜面８に回転時のポンピング作用によって密封流体を押し戻す作用を奏するねじ部９を設けてなるオイルシール１において、摺動面における油膜を厚くすることで流体潤滑にもとづく低トルク化を実現する。この目的達成のため、密封流体側斜面７および反密封流体側斜面８の間に中間面１０を設け、この中間面１０に回転時のポンピング作用によって密封流体を吸い込む作用を奏する逆方向のねじ部１１を設ける。また、中間面１０に設ける逆方向のねじ部１１を中間面１０と反密封流体側斜面８との境界部１３に達しないように設けて、ねじ部１１と境界部１３との間に全周に亙って相手部材の周面に密接するねじ不存在領域を設定する。
