Definitions
- the invention relates to the mechanical detachable connection between a firearm, in particular a pistol, and an accessory such as a lamp, a laser Zielvor- direction, a compensator, a muffler or other, to be attached to the weapon device.
- the Weaver and Swan rails are primarily for rifles, carabiners and semi-automatic or automatic weapons and are mounted above the barrel or above the closure and often carry the target devices, since they or mounted on them attachments on the weapon itself intended target devices would usually obscure.
- the assembly has below the barrel in front of the trigger (trigger), especially in front of the guard (trigger guard), the ignition gel surrounds, enforced.
- the fastening rail can be part of the weapon or attached as a separate part fitting to the weapon.
- the objects to be mounted on the rail have fastening devices which are geometrically designed such that they allow sliding on the rail and locking, usually also on the rail. In particular, this interaction is well visible from US 6,574,901 B.
- the previously known fastening rails essentially fulfill the tasks assigned to them, in particular the fixed mechanical connection, which nevertheless is easily detachable, satisfactorily, but it has been found that the relative position, in particular the parallelism between the rail axis and the running axis, is reduced the delivery of a few shots in a short time interval and even already due to thermal changes, as they occur when leaving an air-conditioned building in the summer, when leaving a heated motor vehicle in winter, etc., drastically changes and in particular the use of a laser pointer as a target mark completely obsolete leaves.
- the rail is formed or attached to the trigger guard.
- the trigger guard consists in almost all firearms essentially of three sections, one of which, the lower, usually parallel or substantially parallel to the barrel axis and another, the front, either substantially normal to the barrel axis or substantially parallel to the magazine axis or oriented generally obliquely to the running axis, wherein these two portions are connected by a connecting portion.
- the connecting portion is square or round in side view, the two other sections are substantially straight.
- a rail is now inventively formed at the front and / or at the lower portion of the trigger guard and thus disturbs neither the shooter in the handling of the weapon still makes them a relearning because of a changed center of gravity of the weapon or because of a changed arrangement of the accessories necessary. It is more comfortable and safer to handle, in particular for non-professional users of the weapon, to attach an attachment to the weapon as the user is accustomed to inserting the magazine, i. not before the mouth of the barrel, but below the barrel to handle.
- the assembly at the bottom, directed substantially parallel to the barrel axis portion of the trigger guard is easily possible.

- FIGS. 15 to 18 show a variant of a lock.
- FIGS. 1-5 A first embodiment of the invention can be seen from FIGS. 1-5, in which the rail is arranged, namely formed, at the lower, at least approximately parallel, section of the trigger guard running parallel to the running axis.

- Fig. 1 shows the part of a pistol which is formed around a trigger guard 2 of this weapon 1.
- This part of the weapon 1 has guides for the carriage of the gun and in practice, of course, also on a trigger, not shown here.
- This guide 3 corresponds to the rails mentioned in the introduction to the description and the presence of such a rail does not adversely affect the provision of a rail according to the invention, as will be apparent from the following description.
- a rail 6 also called mounting rail provided.
- the rail 6 consists in the illustrated embodiment of two strip-like projections which are arranged symmetrically to the weapon center plane on the trigger guard 2 and preferably in the front region, from which the pushing of an accessory follows, are tapered, since they have chamfers 7 through which the sliding of the accessories are facilitated.
- a light module has been selected as an accessory 8, this has a substantially adapted to the outline of the weapon outer shape to the formation of projections, edges, corners, columns udgl. to avoid, because such disturbances of a smooth as possible continuous contour in use can be uncomfortable and even dangerous, but this is not generally necessary for the invention itself, but for the weapon.
- the accessory 8 has a receptacle 9, whose inner contour is formed to match the outer contour of the rail 6.
- the inner contour of the receptacle 9 in the end region 10 is enlarged or extended, so that the placement before pushing in the direction of the arrow 11 can take place without requiring the user too great accuracy which is advantageous for use in the field.
- a locking of the mounted accessory can be done for example by a resilient tongue in the end portion 10 of the receptacle 9, which cooperates with a recess or recess in the magazine-side region of the rail 6.
- the locking can take place in a force-locking manner, that is, be released by sufficiently large force in the direction against the arrow 11 by elastic deformation, or positively, wherein a mechanism for releasing the connection, as described further below, must be provided.
- such a mechanism may consist of a part of the trigger guard, which is pressed from the inside into the recess and thus presses the resilient tongue out of the recess.
- Figs. 6-14 show a second embodiment of the invention, in the description the same reference numerals will be used for the same parts as in the first embodiment, analogous parts will be given a reference number increased by 10.
- Fig. 6 shows in a view similar to Fig. 1, the arrangement of the rail 16 on the trigger guard 2:
- the rail 16 is substantially perpendicular (perpendicular) to the barrel axis 5 (Fig. 7), but is otherwise formed similar to in the first embodiment, namely by strip-shaped projections on both sides of the front portion 12 of the trigger guard 2.
- the rail 16 is oriented normal to the barrel axis 5, it is of course possible to adapt their orientation to the structure of the weapon, For example, the rail 16 (and thus this portion of the trigger guard) to run parallel to the axis of the magazine, which may bring advantages in the manufacture of the housing of the weapon 1 with it; is essential and in the knowledge of the invention is of course only that the arrangement and orientation of the associated receptacle 19 on the accessory 8 is arranged and provided accordingly.
- the rail 16 has at its free end to which the accessory 8 is attached, a taper 7, analogously, the receptacle 19 has a widening 10 at the weapon 1 facing the end, whereby the attachment of the accessory 8 facilitates during assembly is, the assembly / disassembly takes place in the direction of the double arrow 21st
- the accessory 8 has a handle 13 which can be moved in the directions corresponding to the double arrow 14 (FIG. 10). Furthermore, the accessory 8 has a clockwise loaded under the force of a spring, not shown Pivoting lever 15, which is pivotable about a normal (perpendicular) to the weapon center plane (plane of Fig. 10) oriented axis 17 and so also the handle 13 to the barrel out (upward) urges.
- This embodiment can be replaced by other fixings, but has the advantage that the user to remove the accessory without grasping or using the second hand, which anyway must hold the weapon 1, by releasing the handle in the desired direction of removal both unlocks triggers as the accessories of the weapon decreases.
- the accessory of the pivot lever 15 pivots automatically by sliding on the rail 16, as well as automatically engages the pivot lever after complete pushing with its end face 18 on the counter surface 22, since it is under the action of the spring, not shown. Another pivoting is prevented by the front of the trigger guard 2 (no reference numeral).
- the pivoting lever it is possible to form the pivoting lever differently, it can also be resilient in itself and then does not require a separate spring.
- FIGS. 15-18 show a lock for a connection to a rail 6 according to the first embodiment of the invention. It consists of at least one locking surface 23 on the trigger guard 2 and an associated locking claw 24 on the accessory 8. Of course, two such elements are provided for reasons of symmetry in the illustrated embodiment.
- the locking claws 24 are pivotally mounted about substantially normal to the axis 5 and parallel to the central plane of the weapon (plane in Fig. 17) extending axes of rotation 25 and are of a spring (not shown) urged into the locking position shown in Fig. 18, are in the hook 27 behind the locking surface 23 on the trigger guard 2 and so secure the accessories.
- Pressure surfaces 26 of the locking claws 24 protrude slightly in this position over the outer surface of the accessory 8 and can be pressed by the user against the force of the spring inside, causing the locking claws to pivot about their axes of rotation 25 so far that the hook 27 of the locking surfaces 23rd get free and pull off the accessories 8 to the front.
- the rails 6, 16 made of this plastic can be made in one piece with the housing of the weapon, so the representation of the individual figures would read.
- the rail (s) are not integrally formed with the trigger guard (which is preferred), but are arranged on a separate mounting part, it is advantageous that the rail consists of strips, which are arranged on the left and right of the trigger guard. As a result, the geometry is much more resistant, since larger lever arms for transmitting attacking torques and slate loads available as narrow guides. Furthermore, it is advantageous in this case, when the mounting part is glued to the trigger guard. This achieves a mechanically strong and reliable connection, which maintains its positional accuracy for a long time. Of course, advantageous is the formation of the rail from or on the trigger guard in the manufacture of the weapon. Even if a reinforcement inside the trigger guard is present, the training in the description and claims is referred to in this case as "one piece".
