Definitions

  • the invention relates to a magazine release/holding device for a firearm with a magazine release slide for transferring a magazine holding element from its magazine holding position to its magazine release position and vice versa, with at least one interchangeable actuating handle protruding on one side of a grip/housing of the firearm being provided on the magazine release slide.
  • the invention relates to a grip and a weapon housing of a firearm, each of which is equipped with such a magazine release/holding device, and a magazine.
  • Magazine release/holding devices are known in various designs and have the task of holding a magazine in the magazine shaft of a firearm, for example by latching, or releasing it again, for example to change the magazine.
  • a magazine for example according to the NATO standard, includes a magazine catch on its left side. If a shooter has inserted such a magazine completely into the magazine shaft of a firearm, a retaining pawl of a spring-loaded magazine release/retention device arranged in or on the weapon housing automatically engages in the magazine catch. The magazine is then securely locked in the weapon in its operating position.
  • magazine release/holding devices are used in magazine firearms, for example rifles, assault rifles, light machine guns, submachine guns and pistols.
  • At least one handle is usually provided on the magazine release/holding device for releasing the magazine. If a shooter actuates the handle, it pulls and/or pushes the retaining pawl out of the magazine latch. As a result, the magazine is released and can be removed from the gun by the shooter or, if the firearm is held in a normal shooting position, it falls out of the magazine shaft. A shooter can then insert a new magazine into the magazine well and the magazine will snap back into place with the retaining latch.
  • a right-handed shooter With a NATO standard magazine, a right-handed shooter normally operates the magazine release/retention devices using the handle with the index finger of his right firing hand on the grip. Like the NATO standard magazine, other magazine release/retention devices can only be operated from the right side of a weapon when viewed in the firing direction, so that left-handers have difficulties in operating the magazine release/retention device.
  • Magazine release/holding devices that can be operated from both sides are now known. These often have a complex design and are placed on the weapon or the magazine holder, so they protrude from a weapon and are not adequately secured against unintentional actuation. Therefore, such known solutions often have a bulky structure and are vulnerable in rough maneuvers or even combat operations with regard to Damage or failure of their parts, for example due to contamination.
  • U.S. 4,615,134 discloses a magazine release/holding device for the actuation of which a push button is provided on one side and a pivoting lever is provided on the opposite side.
  • the handle is coupled via a pin to an elastically mounted bolt penetrating the magazine holding arm.
  • the handle When actuated, the handle is supported on the weapon housing and, via the coupling, pulls the bolt and thus the magazine holding arm out of the weapon housing into the magazine release position against spring force.
  • the U.S. 4,521,985 shows a magazine release/holding device that can be operated from both sides for a pistol, for the actuation of which push buttons are provided on both sides.
  • the U.S. 4,759,144 shows a magazine release/holding device that can be operated from both sides, for the actuation of which a push button is provided on one side and a pivoted lever on the opposite side.
  • the pivoting lever can be pivoted in an elastically mounted cylinder and is supported on a piston-shaped part mounted fixed to the housing. When pivoting, the pivoting lever pushes the cylinder against a spring into the magazine release position.
  • the U.S. 2010/0281736 A1 shows a magazine release/holding device which can be pivoted about a bolt as the pivot axis.
  • the L-shaped magazine release/holding device designed as a pivoting lever is actuated by a linear slide that can be operated from both sides.
  • U.S. 2006/0123683 A1 another magazine release/holding device that can be operated from both sides, the magazine holding arm of which is pivotably mounted on a spring-loaded actuating bolt.
  • the magazine release/holding device can be disengaged from the magazine both on the right-hand side by pressing the actuating bolt and on the left-hand side by pivoting the handle.
  • magazine release/holding devices are also known that include a slide or pusher that can be used either on the left or right-hand side, such as in the Colt model from 1911.
  • the magazine holder can be in the slide be integrated.
  • Interchangeable push buttons with different heights are also known as attachments for the magazine release slide, but these are attached to the slide by means of screws.
  • the slide can be fixed in the grip with a spring, as in the well-known FN Five Seven.
  • the Century Arms Canik TP9 magazine holder is difficult to handle, especially during assembly and disassembly, since the push button can only be removed from the slide by loosening a screw, exchanged for a push button with a different height and screwed again.
  • the object of the invention is to provide an alternative, structurally simple and functionally reliable magazine release/holding device for firearms.
  • the grip and the weapon housing of a firearm are characterized in that they are each equipped with such a magazine release/holding device.
  • the actuating handle in particular a push button
  • the actuating handle can be replaced without tools
  • a shooter can adapt his weapon to his ergonomics with simple means.
  • the magazine release slide or its push button due to the different hand sizes of shooters, it is not possible to easily close the magazine release slide or its push button with a standard configuration of the magazine release/holding device reach.
  • Shooters often have to leave their shooting position with their shooting hand and or even change their grip in order to actuate it.
  • the interchangeable actuating handles or push buttons are variable in height and/or width, for example, so that they can be quickly adapted to the ergonomic nature of the respective shooter.
  • the invention provides a magazine release/holding device that can be used in a variety of ways at low cost.
  • the magazine release slide extends transversely to the firing direction and can be operated using the operating handle.
  • a shooter can transfer the magazine release slide from the magazine holding position to the magazine release position by pressing the actuating handle or the push button, in which position the magazine holding element releases the magazine.
  • the magazine retaining element may, for example, engage in a recess in the magazine or alternatively comprise a counter-stop surface which engages a lug or protrusion or stop on the magazine, thus preventing its removal from a firearm downwards from the magazine-retaining position.

  • the magazine holding rocker 49 can now be actuated by actuating the magazine release slide 13 and brought into the magazine release position.
  • a latching device in the form of a latching spring plate 97 is inserted/mounted in the inner wall 95 of the housing.
  • the detent spring plate 97 can also be formed integrally, for example molded on. So that the detent spring plate 97 does not break when handled roughly, a stop is provided after a short bend.
  • the detent spring plate 97 comprises a lower magazine holding detent or detent 99 with a lower detent stop 101 and is intended to engage with the detent recess 29 in the holding plate 27 (cf. figure 5 ).
  • the magazine holding rocker 49 fixes the mounted magazine release slide 13 to the housing or grip 3 with its lower end section.
  • the push button 15 is not actuated, the magazine holding rocker 49 rests in the rectangular recess of the connecting section 79 between the ramp section 77 and the wedge-shaped reinforcement section 81 .
  • the detent spring plate 97 comprises an upper magazine holding latch or latching lug 103 and an upper latching stop 105 adjoining it.
  • the upper latching lug 103 also serves to engage with the latching recess 29 on the holding plate 27 of the magazine holding housing 25. (cf. 6 ).
  • a user or shooter places a pin or screwdriver on the holding plate 27 from above or between the holding plate 27 and the locking spring plate 97, lifts the locking recess 29 out of the lower magazine holding catch or locking lug 99, and moves the magazine holder housing 25 upwards until the latching recess 29 rests against the upper latching stop 105 and the recess 29 engages with the upper magazine holding latch 103 (cf. Figures 6 to 8 ). In order to avoid damaging the detent spring plate 97, this is close to the locking block 106.
  • the magazine release slide 13 can now be removed on both sides and can then be used either for left-hand or right-hand operation for a right-handed shooter or left-handed shooter and/or a differently dimensioned, longer, higher or slimmer push button 15 can be attached. This measure enables the self-loading pistol to be quickly adapted for a right-handed or left-handed shooter and its special ergonomics.
  • the magazine release slide 13 After the magazine release slide 13 has been used, it is fixed via the magazine holding rocker 49 in the reverse order by releasing the latching position figure 6 and sliding the magazine holder housing 25 down to its lower detent position at which the lower magazine holder detent 99 engages the detent recess 29 again.
  • FIGS. 9 and 10 show various perspective detailed views of the detent spring plate 97 and the lower magazine holding latch 99 and the upper magazine holding latch 103.
  • the locking block 106 in the grip is partially shown.
  • the two longitudinal guides 107a, b for guiding the holding plate 27 of the magazine holding housing 25 are delimited at their lower end by a stop 113.
