Definitions

  • TECHNICAL FIELD This invention relates to the field of traditional Chinese medicine, more particularly, to an oral herbal formulation for promoting the health of a subject.
  • Traditional Chinese medicine has roots that date back more than 2000 years and provides completely different medical philosophy from Western medicine.
  • Traditional Chinese medicine is a part of a continuing health system. It is ⁇ still employed to treat over one-quarter of the world's population.
  • a typical Chinese physician generally treats every patient differently, as it is preferred to treat the individual rather than the disease or condition per se. Thus two people with the same complaint may be treated entirely differently, if their constitutions and life situations are dissimilar.
  • western medicine views Chinese medicine with skeptisim or at least confusion, particularly when the concepts of yin and yang, the five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal and water), and chi are not understood in relation to western medical concepts.
  • Yin and yang describe what should be a balanced interdependent relationship of opposing but complementary forces.
  • the five elements, or five-phase theory, is/are also based on the notion of harmony and balance.
  • the concept of chi is perhaps the most difficult traditional Chinese medical concept to grasp, it is based on the theory that chi is an invisible energy force that flows freely in a healthy person, but is weakened or blocked during illness. This is essentially a reversal of the traditional western view that a blockage results from the illness.
  • Traditional Chinese medicine maps the human body and physiology as a beautiful and intricate alchemical cauldron. This cauldron distills essences from the air we breathe, the food we eat and our ancestral inheritances. These essences fuel and influence our senses and the quality of our consciousness.
  • the present invention uses the principles of traditional Chinese medicine in systematic and non-traditional ways to arrive at balanced formulas that bring about the goals desired in Chinese Medicine without hindering the digestibility of the formulations or taxing the user's organs.
  • the present formulations utilize a number of adaptogenic herbs, traditional medicinal herbs and highly nutritious food substances, which allow the body to assimilate these substances and bring them to where they can best be used.

  • Traditional Chinese herbal formulas typically contain 2-25 ingredients.
  • the present invention may utilize a larger number of ingredients to produce a more desirable formulation.
  • one unique use of elements or ingredients in this invention is that of combining the green micronutrients, such as, Alfalfa Juice, Barley Grass, Wheat Grass, Chlorella and Spirulina, which are nearly indigestible by themselves, with traditional Chinese herbs to make the whole mixture both digestible and assimilable. This is believed to release the tremendous nutrient properties of the green micronutrients into more useable forms.

Therefore, a brief description of the affects of marijuana and their relationship to traditional Chinese medicinal concepts is provided to illustrate how the compositions of the invention relate to the various conditions that they may be used to treat.
  • Marijuana is a very complex substance. Unless a formula treats the entire pathophysiology, it is not correct to claim that it balances or counteracts the side effects of marijuana use. This raises the question of what happens when marijuana is used by a person?
  • the Chinese name for marijuana tells a complex story. Its name is Huo Ma, or Fire Hemp.
  • the Chinese call marijuana Huo Ma because of its fiery nature. Accordingly, marijuana is believed to start a fire inside of the user and that fire takes a definite progression through the body and psyche, particularly, when a person is exposed to it repeatedly over time.
  • Marijuana harms the lung system by drying up fluid metabolism. It damages the thin fluids and degenerates the Lungs' ability to distribute thin fluids throughout the entire body. Further, marijuana coats the lungs with hot poisons, which toxifies them and the rest of your body over time. Marijuana also damages your lung Yin, and with it the foundation of the Yin in the rest of the body. Marijuana also radically depletes your Qi, confuses and devitalizes the immune system.
  • Marijuana harms the digestive system by drying up digestive fluids and the production of appropriate digestive enzymes. It alters the flow of nutrients into and out of the blood stream and creates pathogenic heat in the digestion, and confuses the function of the "Middle Jiao," or overall digestive abilities.
  • Marijuana slowly poisons the entire body by creating low-level inflammation and filling the user with its hot poisonous nature.
  • Marijuana damages the heart and blood systems by stagnating, heating, depleting and poisoning the blood.
  • Marijuana damages the liver system by congesting the liver with hot poison, heating up the Liver and damaging the blood in the Liver. 6) Marijuana damages the kidney and Jing Sexual Essence systems by devastating the kidney Qi, Yin and Yang, depleting and depolarizing the Jing Sexual Essence and confusing, provoking and exhausting the body's natural sexual functions.
  • Marijuana damages the Shen, or Spirit by depleting and drying out blood and memory. It alters both the structure and function of the brain and nervous system. Marijuana also develops a parasitic relationship with the user. It creates phlegm that "mists" the user's orifices, which confuses and confounds perceptions in an ever-degrading negative feedback loop.
  • An exemplary embodiment of the invention addresses these seven key areas by:
  • Licorice may lead to adverse effects on the Adrenal System. Therefore, it may be beneficial to counteract this affect of Licorice by using a small dosage, and/or the inclusion of Rhizoma Alismatis, Poria Cocos and/or similar compounds. Both of these herbs cancel the negative side effects of long-term use of Licorice.
