Definitions

  • the invention relates to an explosive projectile with a projectile casing, which encloses a space filled with an explosive interior.
  • Such explosive projectiles are known for example from DE 21 26 351 and from DE-OS 28 37 638.
  • predetermined breaking points are introduced directly into the projectile casing to improve the splintering performance.

  • a disadvantage of these known explosive projectiles that their production is relatively expensive and that thermally influenced by the strong heating and cooling of the near-surface areas of the projectile shell and underlying areas of the projectile shell, so that a sufficient launching strength of such projectile casings and thus the explosive projectiles often not guaranteed can be.
  • an explosive projectile is also known, in which for improving the splitter performance predetermined breaking points are not introduced directly into the projectile casing, but in separate cup-shaped steel sheet metal parts, which are located in this provided recesses of the projectile casing.
  • a warhead for the production of splinters of uniform size can be removed, wherein the embedded here between the warhead casing and the explosive shell liner has longitudinal holes, which together form a lattice Forming patterns.
  • the insert material proposed is unalloyed steel or reactive alloys. This measure ensures that the shock waves act unimpeded on all four cutting edges of the fragments to be formed and ensure reliable separation at these edges. Between the insert and the explosive a film is also provided here, which prevents penetration of the explosive into the longitudinal holes.

  • the invention is essentially based on the idea of arranging an insert made of a metal mesh, for example by gluing or pouring, in the region of the inner surface of the projectile casing. After ignition of the explosive, this metal mesh interferes with the further propagation of the explosive wave and leads to a defined manifold disassembly of the projectile casing.
