[0001] 本発明は、排紙装置に関するものであり、特に、紙を排出する排紙機構と、光を出 射することによって所定の投影面に画像を投影させる投影機構と、を備えた排紙装 置に関する。
背景技術
[0002] 従来、排紙装置には、プリンタ機能やコピー機能、ファックス機能などの紙に印刷を する印刷機構、スキャナ機能などの画像を読み取る画像読取機構、プロジェクタ機能 などの画像を投影する投影機構など、各種の機構を筐体に備えた機器がある。
[0003] このような排紙装置においては、例えば、特許文献 1に示すように、紙に印刷をする 印刷機構、画像を読み取る画像読取機構、画像を投影する投影機構など、各種の 機構が上下方向に縦装されており、各種の機構が数多く存在しても、場所を取らず に、これらの機構を設置することができるものが開示されて!/、る。

発明の開示
発明が解決しょうとする課題
[0004] しかしながら、上述したような排紙装置では、各種の機構を備えている力 光を投射 する投影機構が最上位機構として配置されており、その機構中央力 光が出射され るため、投影機構の光路を十分に確保できないおそれがあり、投影機構の光路がで きる限り確保できるような構成が望まれていた。また、例えば、投影機構が最上位機 構として上方に向かって突出しているため、サイズの大型化を招くとともに、破損のお それもあった。
[0005] 本発明は、上述したような課題に鑑みてなされたものであり、投影機構から出射され る光の光路を確保することができる排紙装置を提供することを目的とする。
課題を解決するための手段
[0006] 以上のような目的を達成するために、本発明の一つの観点によれば、光を出射す ることによって所定の投影面に画像を投影させる投影機構と、前記排紙機構と前記 投影機構とを内蔵する筐体と、前記筐体に、前記排紙機構によって紙が排出される 排出口と、前記排紙機構によって前記排出口から排出された紙の載置又は取出しの ための排紙空間と、を有する排紙部と、を備えた排紙装置であって、前記投影機構 の少なくとも一部は、前記筐体における前記排紙空間に接する位置に配置される。

[0009] また、本発明の排紙装置において、前記筐体に内蔵され、前記紙に印刷を行う印 刷機構を備え、前記排紙機構は、前記印刷機構によって印刷された紙を排出する機 能を有し、前記印刷機構が配置されて!、る位置から前記排紙空間を跨レ、だ位置に 前記投影機構が配置されるように構成してもよい。このような構成とすることにより、印 刷機構の熱が伝わる可能性を低めることができる。

[0014] また、本発明の排紙装置において、前記投影機構は、光を出射するための光源を 有し、前記排紙部に紙があるか否かを検知する排紙検知部と、前記排紙部に紙があ ると前記排紙検知部によって検知された場合には、前記投影機構における前記光源 の発光を停止させる制御を行う光源制御部とを備えるように構成してもよレ、。このよう な構成とすることにより、排紙部に紙がある場合に、その排出された紙が検知され、自 動的に投影機構における光源の発光を停止させることとなり、光源による消費電力を 低減させ、光源の製品寿命を永らえることができる。また、光源からの光による紙焼け などを防止することもできる。
[0015] また、本発明の排紙装置において、画像を読み取る画像読取機構を備え、前記投 影機構と前記画像読取機構との光源を共有するように構成してもよい。このような構 成とすることにより、投影機構と画像読取機構とで別々に光源を備える必要がなぐ 光源による消費電力を低減させ、部品点数の減少と、排紙装置のサイズの小型化と を図ること力 Sでさる。

[0021] また、本発明の排紙装置において、前記排紙機構による紙の排出を検知する排紙 検知部と、前記排紙検知部によって前記排紙機構による紙の排出が検知された場合 には、所定の報知を行う排紙報知部とを備える構成としてもよい。このような構成とす ることにより、排紙機構による紙の排出が検知された場合には、所定の報知を行う。 従って、排紙機構による紙の排出が認識可能となるため、紙の排出が行われるときの 投影機構の使用を防止することができる。
発明の効果

[0026] ^紙装置の構成] 本実施形態における排紙装置(以降、「複合機」と称することもある)について図 1か ら図 3を用いて以下に説明する。
[0027] 図 1に示すように、複合機 10は、各種の機能が複合された装置である。本実施形態 における複合機 10には、用紙を複写するコピー機能、電話回線からの信号に基づ V、て画像を印刷するファックス機能、コンピュータからの信号に基づ!/、て文書や画像 を印刷するプリンタ機能、用紙に描かれて!/、る画像を画像データとして取り込むスキ ャナ機能、光を投影することによって画像を表示させるプロジェクタ機能などが備えら れている。

[0030] 複合機 10の排紙空間 14の上方には、各種の操作スィッチなどが含まれる操作パ ネル 16が設けられている。また、操作パネルの中央には、各種の画像を表示する表 示装置 17が設けられている。また、操作パネル 16の上方には、原稿台カバー 18が 開閉自在に配設されている。この原稿台カバー 18を開くことによって、原稿台に原稿 を配置することが可能となる。また、原稿台カバー 18の上方には、連続して原稿を読 み取ることが可能な自動原稿送り装置 20が配置されて!/、る。この自動原稿送り装置 2 0は、原稿配置部 22と、原稿排出部 24とを含み、原稿配置部 22に配置された原稿 力 内部に設けられた搬送ローラ(図示せず)によって内部に搬送され、順次画像が 読み取られた後に、原稿が原稿排出部 24に排出されることとなる。また、複合機 10 の排紙空間 14の下方には、手差しトレイ 26が設けられており、その手差しトレイの下 方には、記録紙トレイ 28が設けられている。手差しトレイ 26、記録紙トレイ 28は、開閉 自在であり、所定のサイズの記録紙が載置され、印刷される場合に搬送されることと なる。

[0033] 原稿台 30の下方には、原稿に描かれた画像を読み取る画像読取機構 40が配設さ れている。この画像読取機構 40は、画像読取部 42と画像読取ユニット 44とを含んだ 構成である。画像読取部 42は、原稿台 30の下方から光を照射することともに、その 反射された光を受光することによって、原稿に描かれた画像を画像データとして読み 取る。また、画像読取ユニット 44は、画像読取部 42を制御するユニットであり、画像 読取部 42を移動させたり、光を照射させたり、読み取った画像データを後述する制 御回路 80に供給する機構を有する。また、画像読取機構 40は、後述する投影機構 70と光源を共有しており、図 2及び図 3に示すように、導光部 46を介して、投影機構 70のランプ 72からの光が導かれることとなる。このように、投影機構 70と、画像を読 み取る画像読取機構 40との光源を共有する。従って、投影機構 70と画像読取機構 40とで別々に光源を備える必要がなぐ光源による消費電力を低減させ、部品点数 の減少と、複合機 10のサイズの小型化とを図ることができる。

CPU82は、排紙空間 14に紙や物体が存在すると判定した場合には、物体が存在 する旨の報知を表示装置 17に行わせる(ステップ S12)。つまり、物体存在報知部と しての表示装置 17は、物体検知センサ 96によって排紙空間 14に紙などの物体が存 在すると検知された場合には、所定の報知を行うこととなり、排紙空間 14に物体が存 在することが認識可能となり、物体があるときの投影機構 70の使用を防止することが できる。そして、 CPU82は、投影機能が有効であるか否かを判定する(ステップ S 13 )。 CPU82は、投影機構 70に対して投影命令を供給したか否か、投影機構 70から の終了信号などを受け取つたか否かによって、投影機能が有効であるか否かを判定 することとなる。 CPU82は、投影機能が有効であると判定した場合には、発光停止 命令を投影機構 70に供給することによって、光源としてのランプ 72の発光を停止さ せる制御を行う光源発光停止制御処理を実行し (ステップ S 14)、本サブルーチンを 終了する。つまり、光源制御部としての CPU82は、排紙空間 14 (排紙部の一部)に 紙があると物体検知センサ 96によって検知された場合には、投影機構 70におけるラ ンプ 72の発光を停止させる制御を行うこととなる。これによつて、排紙空間 14に紙が ある場合に、その排出された紙が検知され、自動的に投影機構 70における光源の発 光を停止させることとなり、光源による消費電力を低減させ、光源の製品寿命を永ら えること力 Sできる。また、光源からの光による紙焼けなどを防止することもできる。尚、 CPU82は、ステップ SI 1にお!/、て排紙空間 14に紙や物体が存在しな!/、と判定した 場合や、ステップ S13において投影機能が有効であると判定した場合などは、ステツ プ S 12やステップ S 14を実行することなぐ本サブルーチンを終了する。
[0049] 制御回路 80において、 CPU82は、所定のタイミングで(所定の周期で)図 6に示す ような処理を実行する。
[0050] 最初に、図 6に示すように、 CPU82は、排紙空間 14に紙を排紙するか否かを判定 する(ステップ S21)。この処理において、 CPU82は、排紙機構 60に排紙命令を供 給したことを条件に、排紙空間 14に紙を排紙したと判定することとなり、排紙機構 60 による紙の排出を検知することとなる。つまり、このような処理を実行する CPU82は、 排紙検知部に相当する。そして、 CPU82は、排紙空間 14に紙を排紙したと判定した 場合には、紙が排紙される旨の報知を表示装置 17に行わせる (ステップ S22)。つま り、排紙報知部としての表示装置 17は、排紙機構 60による紙の排出が検知された場 合には、所定の報知を行うこととなり、排紙機構 60による紙の排出が認識可能となる ため、紙の排出が行われるときの投影機構 70の使用を防止することができる。この処 理が終了した場合には、本サブルーチンを終了する。一方、ステップ S21において、 CPU82は、排紙空間 14に紙を排紙していないと判定した場合には、ステップ S22を 実行することなぐ本サブルーチンを終了する。
[0051] このように、光を出射することによって所定の投影面に画像を投影させる投影機構 7 0は、出射される光が排紙機構 60によって排出口 68から排出された紙の載置又は 取出しのための排紙空間 14に接する位置に配置されたため、排紙空間 14を有効に 用いることによって、投影機構 70から出射される光の光路を確保することができる。 [0052] 尚、上述した実施形態において、排紙空間 14の上方に投影機構 70を備えたが、こ れに限らず、例えば、排紙空間 14における開放された方向とは逆の方向に、投影機 構を備えてもよい。具体的には、図 7に示すように、筐体 12の前方に開放された排紙 空間 14が設けられている場合には、その開放された前方とは逆方向(後方)に、投影 機構 70が配設されている。また、投影機構 70は、略水平方向に光を出射するように 配置されている。これによつて、開放されている所定方向とは逆方向に投影機構 70 が配置されることによって、より一層、投影機構から出射される光の光路を確保するこ と力 Sできる。また、水平方向に画像を投影する場合に、投影機構 70から出射される光 の光路を確保することができる。
[0053] また、例えば、排紙空間 14の下方に投影機構を備えてもよい。具体的には、図 8に 示すように、排紙空間 14の下方であり、印刷機構 50の上方に投影機構 70を備えた 。つまり、投影機構 70は、排紙空間 14の下方に配置され、上方に光を出射すること となるため、例えば、天井などに対して画像を投影する場合に、投影機構 70から出 射される光の光路を確保することができる。また、この投影機構 70の結像光学系 78 が排紙空間 14に接することとなるが、排紙空間 14に接する結像光学系 78に、排紙 空間に面するカバー 92 (保護部材、カバー部材の一例)が配置されている。そして、 このカバー 92は、結像光学系 78を開閉自在に変位可能である。つまり、このカバー 92は、結像光学系 78 (光学部品)が排紙空間 14に面する位置に、その排紙空間 14 に面する結像光学系 78を覆うように開閉自在に配置されている。このため、使用時、 未使用時など、開閉自在なカバー 92によって、ごみや埃などから結像光学系 78を 保護すること力でさる。
[0054] 更には、カバー 92の近傍には、そのカバー 92の開閉を検知するためのカバー開 閉検知センサ(図示せず)が配置されている。このカバー開閉検知センサは、図 4に おける各種センサ 98に含まれており、カバー 92の開閉を示す信号を制御回路 80に 供給することとなる。これによつて、図 9に示すように、 CPU82は、カバー 92が閉鎖さ れているか否かを判定する(ステップ S31)。 CPU82は、カバー 92が閉鎖されている と判定された場合には、更に、投影機能が有効であるか否力、を判定し (ステップ S32) 、投影機能が有効であると判定した場合には、カバーが閉鎖されている旨の報知を 表示装置 17に行わせる制御を行い (ステップ S33)、本サブルーチンを終了する。こ れによって、報知によりカバー 92の閉鎖が認識可能となり、投影機構 70による光の 投影がカバー 92によって干渉されることを防止することができる。
[0055] 更にまた、上述した実施形態においては、図 2に示すように、投影機構 70が、排紙 空間 14の上方に配置される場合には下方に向力、つて画像を投影し、図 8に示すよう に、排紙空間 14の下方に配置される場合には上方に向力、つて画像を投影するような 構成としたが、これに限らず、例えば、図 10に示すように、排紙空間 14の下方に配 置される場合であっても、反射ミラー 94を配置することによって、下方に向力 て画 像を投影するような構成としてもよい。もちろん、排紙空間 14の上方に配置される場 合であっても、反射ミラーを配置することによって、上方に向力 て画像を投影するよ うな構成としてもよい。
[0056] 更にまた、上述した実施形態においては、排紙空間 14を筐体 12の胴部に設けた 力 これに限らず、例えば、図 11に示すように、筐体 12の上部に排紙空間 14を設け てもよい。また、図 1に示す自動原稿送り装置 20における原稿排出部 24を、排紙空 間として採用してもよい。
[0057] 更にまた、上述した実施形態においては、投影機構 70における光源としてランプ 7 2を用いた力 S、これに限らず、例えば、ランプ 72の代わりに、 LEDやレーザを発生す るレーザ発生装置であってもよい。この場合において、具体的には、図 12に示すよう に、レーザ発生装置 102は、ガルバノミラー 104にレーザを出射し、そのガルバノミラ 一 104によって反射されたレーザ力 ポリゴンミラー 106などによって、照明光学系 7 4に走査されて出射されるように構成してもよい。また、上述した実施形態において、 投影機構 70におけるランプ 72を、画像読取機構 40と共有したが、これに限らず、例 えば、印刷機構 50ゃ排紙機構 60などと共有してもよい。具体的には、図 11や図 13 に示すように、上述したようなレーザ発生装置 102によるレーザ力 ガルバノミラー 10 4、ポリゴンミラー 106などによって反射され、定着ローラ 63に向力 て出射されること によって、印刷機構 50から排紙される記録紙の定着に共用してもよい。また、この定 着ローラ 63自体も、印刷機構 50と排紙機構 60との共用部品である。このため、投影 機構 70と印刷機構 50 (排紙機構 60)とで部品を共有することとなり、部品点数の減 少と、複合機のサイズの小型化とを図ることができる。
[0058] 更にまた、上述した実施形態においては、各種の報知を表示装置 17を用いて行つ たが、これに限らず、例えば、音を発生することによって報知する音発生装置や、振 動によって報知する振動装置など、他の報知手段を用いてもよぐこれらの組み合わ せであってもよい。もちろん、各種の報知を行わない構成であっても問題ない。
[0059] 更にまた、上述した実施形態においては、複合機 10に、コピー機能、ファックス機 能、プリンタ機能、スキャナ機能、プロジェクタ機能などが備えられており、上述したよ うな画像読取機構 40、印刷機構 50、排紙機構 60、投影機構 70を筐体 12に内蔵さ せたが、これに限らず、例えば、それらの組み合わせのなかで、複合機でなくても、 少なくとも排紙機構 60と投影機構 70とを備えた構成であればどの組み合わせであつ てもよい。つまり、少なくともプロジェクタ機能を有する排紙装置であればよい。

請求の範囲
[1] 紙を排出する排紙機構と、
光を出射することによって所定の投影面に画像を投影させる投影機構と、 前記排紙機構と前記投影機構とを内蔵する筐体と、
前記筐体に、前記排紙機構によって紙が排出される排出口と、前記排紙機構によ つて前記排出口から排出された紙の載置又は取出しのための排紙空間と、を有する 排紙部と、を備えた排紙装置であって、
前記投影機構の少なくとも一部は、前記筐体における前記排紙空間に接する位置 に配置されたことを特徴とする排紙装置。
[2] 前記排紙空間は、前記筐体の胴部に形成され、所定方向に開放されていることを 特徴とする請求項 1に記載の排紙装置。
[3] 前記筐体に内蔵され、前記紙に印刷を行う印刷機構を備え、
前記排紙機構は、前記印刷機構によって印刷された紙を排出する機能を有し、 前記印刷機構が配置されて!/、る位置から前記排紙空間を跨!/、だ位置に前記投影 機構が配置されることを特徴とする請求項 2に記載の排紙装置。
[4] 前記筐体における前記排紙空間の前記所定方向とは逆方向に前記投影機構が配 置されることを特徴とする請求項 2に記載の排紙装置。
[5] 前記投影機構は、水平方向に光を出射することを特徴とする請求項 4に記載の排 紙装置。
[6] 前記投影機構は、前記排紙空間の上方に配置され、前記排紙装置が設置された 設置面に光を出射することを特徴とする請求項 2に記載の排紙装置。
[7] 前記投影機構は、前記排紙空間の下方に配置され、上方に光を出射することを特 徴とする請求項 2に記載の排紙装置。
[8] 前記投影機構は、光を出射するための光源を有し、
前記排紙部に紙があるか否かを検知する排紙検知部と、
前記排紙部に紙があると前記排紙検知部によって検知された場合には、前記投影 機構における前記光源の発光を停止させる制御を行う光源制御部と、を備えたことを 特徴とする請求項 1に記載の排紙装置。
[9] 画像を読み取る画像読取機構を備え、
前記投影機構と前記画像読取機構との光源を共有することを特徴とする請求項 1 に記載の排紙装置。
[10] 前記投影機構と前記印刷機構とで部品を共有することを特徴とする請求項 3に記 載の排紙装置。
[11] 前記投影機構には光学部品が含まれており、
前記光学部品の少なくとも一部は、前記排紙空間に接する位置に配置されている ことを特徴とする請求項 1に記載の排紙装置。
[12] 前記光学部品には、前記排紙空間に面する保護部材が含まれていることを特徴と する請求項 11に記載の排紙装置。
[13] 前記光学部品が前記排紙空間に面する位置には、当該排紙空間に面する光学部 品を覆うカバー部材が開閉自在に配置されることを特徴とする請求項 11に記載の排 紙装置。
[14] 前記排紙空間に物体が存在するか否かを検知する物体検知部と、
前記物体検知部によって前記排紙空間に物体が存在すると検知された場合には、 所定の報知を行う物体存在報知部と、を備えたことを特徴とする請求項 1に記載の排 紙装置。
[15] 前記排紙機構による紙の排出を検知する排紙検知部と、
前記排紙検知部によって前記排紙機構による紙の排出が検知された場合には、所 定の報知を行う排紙報知部と、を備えたことを特徴とする請求項 1に記載の排紙装置
